Will there ever be an option to play everything made by one artist, instead just the option to play just one album?
will the current play 1 be compatible to use Google Mini for control
Hi, Is it possible to buy a product that can decode DD+ to DD? I have a full surround setup with a Beam, two Sonos ones and a Sub.
Hey everyone - I bought a Beam last week, lovely bit of kit. I'm ready to pull the trigger on the purchase of a Samsung TV (the UE50NU7400 to be precise) but I'm frankly terrified at all the reports of people being unable to get DD from Sky Q (and indeed many other sources) whilst using ARC between Beam and Samsung TV. Sky Q is our primary source of content and I'd be loathed to fallback to optimal and lose the Alexa integration. So... is anyone successful in getting DD sound with a Beam connected via ARC to a Samsung (ideally a UE50NU7400) TV? Thanks in advance!
I recently purchased a Play:1 for my kitchen. I am able to connect to and select Pandora and other sources with (2) different iPhone 5s's and a iPad Mini all running iOS 7.0.4, however the actual iPhone or iPad do not show up as sources in the list of music sources. The Sonos bridge is connected to an Airport Extreme and I've confirmed that I'm able to connect to the Play:1 on both the 5GHz and 2.4GHz frequency bands. I am very frustrated because i can't stream anything other than internet radio and really wanted to be able to stream podcasts.
Hi All Just want to share my opinion on the performance of the Sonos Amp when used with 3rd party speakers (Definitive Technology BP 20’s aka Def Techs) and a Sonos Sub. My original setup used a Definitive Technology 1500 Powered sub in conjunction with the Def Tech speakers. As a bit of history I originally purchased the Def Tech components (for just over $2.5K-USD) in the early 90’s. Music was still available on vinyl. CD’s were just coming into their own. Streaming was unheard of. I tell you this so that the younger audience will understand that the stress to deliver audio via an analog source was less taxing on the materials used in the construction of the tweeters, mid-range and low-end speaker components than the audio produced from today’s recordings and streams in full digital format. Subwoofers required manual tuning by ear to get the most out of them without blowing then up. 😛 Fast forward to today. The Sonos Amp had no trouble driving the Def Tech BP
I have a beat, sub and two one speakers, connected to a Samsung 65” frame TV. Connected HDMI ARC. Sonos is recognized on my TV, but TV isn’t recognized on sonos app. Speakers will only work sporadically regardless if reset or re-synced. One day, turn on the TV and works fine. Next, turn on the TV and nothing. No rhyme or reason and I’m about to return this expensive speaker system if sonos can’t get its act together. Diagnostic 614010941. Please help me fix this, it’s driving me crazy.
Hi everyone, I am a quite happy owner of 2 Sonos One and I recently decided to replace my Yamaha YAS-207 for a Sonos Beam because I wanted to use the Ones as surround. Alright let's get this out of the way, the Beam sounds really really good, the Yamaha has a sub so it sounds a bit deeper in the low frequencies but the Beam is impressive and it destroys the Yamaha in the mids and high, I could not believe how far back the sound felt with the Yamaha until I listen to the Beam, the sound is warm and feels more filling, amazing job for that. NOW, this is not all roses and this all comes down to connections. I wanna have surround sound, my 4K TV does not pass 5.1 with ARC and only has a digital coaxial as output, so here I am spending hours on google and I end up buying an adapter (coaxial to toslink) which now works with Apple TV and PS4, obviously all the benefits of having ARC are now gone... I have a Nintendo Switch, hmmm, no surround sound coming...hmmm why!? Here I go, go
I installed my Beam and it worked perfectly for two days, and then the connection to my TV failed. Can still play music etc, but can't get sound from my TV. Connected with HDMI cable, and didn't change anything in settings etc, so can't understand why it suddenly didn't work any longer. Suggestions?
I recently hooked up my Sonos connnect to my Denon receiver using RCA cables and the DVD inputs on the receiver. The sound quality isn’t great, there is a good amount of static noise and the volume has to be almost all the way up in the app and/or on the receiver to make it decently audible. Did I do something wrong? How can I fix this?
I know this has been mentioned before, but thought I'd chime in as another user who would appreciate a Sonos portable speaker solution. I'll quickly summarize my use case, some workaround/aftermarket solutions, and what a Sonos solution could look like. Use Case - Our medium size house on a small lot has a front yard and porch, back yard and porch, and narrow side yard with garden and shed, all places we spend time either relaxing or working or both. The porches have electricity, but not where I would mount or place a speaker, so adding Sonos speakers there requires a 15'-20' extension cord for a temporary solution or electrical work for a permanent install (which would then be an opportunity for theft). The side yard/garden/shed has no electricity and requires a 50'+ extension cord to get power to. A key point is all of these locations have WiFi coverage from the network my other Sonos speakers are on. Workarounds - I own a number of Bluetooth speakers that I usually use in thes
I did a little analysis of the Sonos device range and the graph makes it clear that the newer devices, that support Alexa and AirPlay, need a lot more memory/storage (32x more in fact) than the early players. Also makes the reasons behind the 65,000 track limit pretty obvious.
Have you ever pressed the play button and Sonos thinks and then nothing happens? No music - nothing. It just goes back to show the "play" arrow. It's like groundhog day. I do it all over again and get the same result. This is odd - it was working just fine yesterday :S
Single ceiling speakers (already bought) being used in the bathroom and kitchen. I need to sum the stereo signal for those, as I listen to a lot of soul which is 'dual mono' i.e. drums on left, everything else on right. Can the output be set to mono?
I have a 5.1 setup with a playbar, 2x play 1 and a sub. When I use it to watch movies (usually on an Apple TV device) the bass is loud. When I use it for music (via the Sonos App) the bass is rather underwhelming. I have the music set up to play as “full” through the rear speakers. When I played some music through the Apple TV today I noticed that the bass seemed fairly loud, and also the music coming through the Apple TV was louder overall than music playing through the Sonos App (I didn’t change the volume between Apple TV and Sonos App). Is there another setting somewhere that I am missing in order to make the sub a bit more noticeable with music? Thanks
Hi, I currently have a Playbase and several play 1’s. I was considering buying the sub to pair and make 5.1. I live in a ground floor tenement flat (old hardwood floors) and was wondering if it is worth my while? Is it going to cause to much noise for my neighbours? Is there anything I can do to limit the travel of bass such as a mat? Any help would be appreciated! Danny
Already have Play:3 within the space in question, just curious if Play:5 would be justifiable. In short, TSF is about 450 for the room, which is more a rectangle than a square. Dilemma (if you want to call it that) is I'd like to own the flagship Play:5 if for no other reason than to have the best technology available from Sonos, but not sure the room will be sufficient enough space for it. It's a lower level Michigan basement, where a Play:3 is presently on its own "room" assignment as a stand alone option. Currently, the sound is quite awesome but it does take the 3 being a little bit on the louder side to fill the space acoustically. I know a 5 would do that at low volume, but feel it's unlikely the 5 would ever be used in this space at anything beyond 1/3 its maximum output. As such, does it even make sense to entertain the 5? Does the lowest 1/3 of its capacity produce a different enough image than the 3 at moderate to mid-range? Would it make more sense to leave well enough alone
I love the sonos connect so much that I got one at home, at work, for my brother, for my father and for my father in law. My only complaint is that my controller is locked to one system at a time. When I move between different houses I should be able to pair the controller on my phone with their systems and have it remember me when I come back - without resetting. I've seen the tip about bringing them all to one place and setting them up together. But that's not always possible or desirable. There is no real security concern because I still have to be allowed on their network and I'd still have to push the buttons on the device. Seems like a relatively simple software problem to allow me to pair with multiple systems and remember all the systems I've paired with.
Your confirmation number is: 1648661356. Keeps cutting out. I’ve changed channels and uncompressed/ compressed etc. Reset and moved boost.... getting annoying as a lot of equipment.... regards
Hi, I’m a new owner of two Sonos play one and I’d like connecting them to My new Cambridge Audio 851N. I have an Apple MacBook Air and a Apple Extreme TimeCapsule 3Tbyte, too. I have not succeeded yet. Thank you all
I am considering being a VSX-933 from Pioneer and hooking it up to my Sonos Connect and grouping it in one (large) room with two play:1's - my current AV-Receiver (Yamaha RX-V473) is 7 years old and it causes mild latency (echo effect) with that setup - the DAC is simply too slow - full direct mode will only allow 2 channels out of the 5.1 set up at it sounds rubbish. Anyone out there using a Sonos Connect in connect with and Sonos products in the same group?
Hi all, Since quite some time now I'm having the issue that my Playbar stops audio for a brief moment or cracks while playing games on my PS4. I've already replaced my HDMI cable with a brand new one and tested a few others I had laying around. I've also replaced my optical cable two times and made sure my TV , Sonos playbar and Ps4 are up to date. Also done a complete reset of my PS4 but no result. I've also done all troubleshooting done in this thread: https://en.community.sonos.com/home-theater-228993/ps4-buzzing-and-sound-cuts-in-and-our-6812983 but unfortunately the issue persists. Does anyone had similar problems or perhaps have any idea what it might be? Thanks in advance!
I have spend about 24 hours searching online for a TV compatible to support my playbar with dolby digital 5.1 Losing my mind!! Support sent me outdated list of TV then a list of vendors. I want to online purchase. I like to get 65" or larger smart TV to use the dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. Help
Is there a way to switch from tile view to a list view after I search and access any particular artist? In tile view almost all album names are truncated. Also, it would be nice (actually more than nice... it should be And a way to quickly distinguish between albums and singles should be included. For an app this old, I wonder why these basic features are not already present. Or, if they are, where did you hide them, Sonos???
Hello ya'll. I purchased two Def Tech aw-6500s and a new sonos amp last month. I will pick up an outdoor TV at the end of the month and hopefully have everything installed by the start of summer. I noticed there were virtually no videos with these speakers and the new amp on you tube, so I made a quick video. see link below (big joy division fan here). https://youtu.be/W8Dvc-_iC0s I hope to have the outdoor tv hooked up and dry run everything before installation. Anxious to see how fast the amp can switch from music to tv. debating if I need to add another set of speakers. I'm assuming it will not be as loud or can the amp handle another speaker for a total of 3?
