I know Sonos does not currently support high quality Flacs. With S2 being a thing for a while now I am curious if there are any plans to start supporting higher quality Flac files? I guess this is mostly a question to Sonos staff, and I know it has been asked before. Just curious if anything has changed since then.
Hi all, I’ve just purchased an Arc which I should receive in a few weeks due to stock shortages. Question is should I buy a Gen 3 sub? Can anyone share their experience of the combo? Thanks in advance.
Pls ignore the typo in subject. I have a Sonos Beam and 2 Sonos Play:1 speakers setup in my living room. I need more loudness as sometime during parties I feel the volume is not enough. Hence, I want to add more speakers. I am confused between Sonos one two speaker set or Sonos Five. I am more inclined towards Sonos Five as I feel it can give more louder sound as well as I don't have enough space to keep two more speakers. I will appreciate any advise / suggestions from the community. Thank you in advance.
I use a Shelly Button1 to control my SOSOS system and it works greate. If you have or buy a Rassbery pi and install (https://github.com/jishi/node-sonos-http-api) you can do magic without having to use the SONOS App. I think it takes to long time get the phone, start App, and then click you to the right Radio channel. Now you do that with one click on Shelly Button1. Very nice. Shelly and SONOS in a great combination.
Would the Sonos Amp be a good pairing with the KEF LS50 Meta’s? Has anyone got one paired with the older LS50s?
Hi All I wanted to make you aware of an experience I am having with both Sonos and Samsung. I am on my second Samsung tv (replacement q95t) and the following letter to CEO’s of both companies should explain. Be interesting to know if any members of this community are aware or have experienced these issues. Dear Patrick/Sang Ho Jo gwi-ha Apologies for the direct approach, however I must make you aware of a situation with regards to two of your companies top consumer products. I have been a loyal purchaser of both Samsung and Sonos products for a number of years now, and most recently have purchased your Sonos Arc Soundbar and Samsung Q95T television products. On receipt of these products, I have noticed a compatibility issue between the two aforementioned products around the eARC connectivity. Simply put, once eARC is enabled on the Samsung device, no sound is transmitted via the Sonos Arc. Once Disabled however, sound is apparent. From a samsung perspective, I have be
I have two play one’s, play 3, beam and an Ikea speaker. I’m Sonos from the begging and thought it was great until S2.I had a bridge (as that came packaged with Sonos early days) and when I migrated to S2 and completed the compatibility test the bridge was the only thing not compatible. Not wanting to spend another £99 and having a £200 dual band router i removed the old bridge. I had lots of problems with the S2 app not see the devices, read the support articles and setup a dedicated “sonos” network on my router on 2.4 and connected the units through that. I’m so frustrated with the whole inconsistency of my setup now Ive had enough of it. The app will randomly show me all my system then the next time it will be minus the Beam. The two play ones I use for surround rears disconnect themselves. I have re-added more then twice now and i got up today and the left speaker had reverted to its old standalone config before i paired them up?I understand the need to move forward but i pretty mu
As the title says … has anyone had any luck getting Dolby Atmos Digital plus working? I assume that even with Atmos DD+ You would get the Atmos symbol on the TV screen in the S2 app? I have yet to see that symbol in the S2 app. my set up.. OLED B8 [this does not have eARC] apple TV 4K plugged in to HDMI ARC att uverse plugged into HDMI sonos arc plugged into optical from what I have read in general (not B8 specific) optical can only do 5.1 and hdmi ARC can do DD+. I have tried the sonos arc in both, but the optical seems to sound better. And even in the settings you have the option for Dolby Atmos when output to internal+optical. I have tried downloading the Atmos video samples from Dolby website, putting on USB… although they sound good, still no Dolby Atmos indication on the app.. I believe this is a TV limitation, but wondering if any success from other B8 owners? thanks
Sonos Arc owners are starting to receive the first shipments of the Arcana device from HD Fury. Most of these people are Sonos Arc owners who have older TVs without an eARC connection or a TV that can’t pass through Dolby Digital Plus or Dolby Atmos audio. I’m happy to report that the Arcana works! I own a 2013 Panasonic plasma with an HDMI ARC connection and I can now get Dolby TrueHD/Dolby Atmos audio from my Panasonic UHD Blu-ray player and Dolby Digital Plus/Dolby Atmos audio from my Roku Ultra with the Arcana device.I’ll be happy to share my full setup if anyone is interested. The Arcana is shipping now:https://hdfury.com/product/4k-arcana-18gbps/
How come Sonos takes away a feature that came WITH the product??? And without even asking their fellow consumers!!! We are the ones who buy their products!!! It’s been months since i can’t play my Itunes music. If i can’t play my music on a Sonos speakers, why would I buy it?PUT IT BACK.
Now with the newly released Chromecast with Google TV I can get Dolby Atmos. So far I've tested with Netflix and Amazon Prime. For some reason I couldn't get the to work on Disney+ even though the shows had the Atmos badge. Thought I'd spread the word for this that may be wondering.
I can transfer my Spotify to my Sonos, but can you transfer a Sonos playlist to my Spotify?? and how??
Just bought Beam and One SL to go with my One I bought couple of years ago. Set it up as theatre system and works well. However, when I change the volume using the Sky Q handset the Ones retain their original volume. Why do the Ones not change in sync with the Beam? Don’t want to use the app to change volume constantly as I recognise there is the group facility within the middle option on the app. Also, as I have the three units in one room, these have not been set up as a group. Any advice would be most welcome. Thanks.

Hi all I already have a connect running in my home. Can I add a connect amp to use in another room connected to different speakers ? Will it interfere with the connect. My wi fi is eero mesh with no problems with Sonos
hi.i am currently looking to replace a 20yo bose 5.1 setup…my tv sits on top of living room furniture.the tv is sitting high. i was hoping it would be ok to mount the sonos arc above the tv. our seating is the normal couch and chair setup.how bad would sound quality be with it being mounted so high? I do not have the option of putting it anywhere else at this time…thanks...joe
Hi all,Currently i own an Arc, Sub and two Ones. Altough the Arc and Sub are FANTASTIC for movies, i dont like the speakers/sound coming from the back, especially when listening to music. So i tried both Ones in Stereo with Sub and Arc with Sub for music.. And that kinda suprised me because the Arc's music sound really isnt good compared to the stereo Ones. Does anyone agree on the Arc music capabilities or am i too salty ? Btw im using Tidal “hifi” streaming. Thanks!
I cant get S2 to fully install I download then app wants to update but its to a beta program I previously asked to leave not a S2 update I cant see how to delete the beta on my system If I update to beta it tries but does not install on android or IOS. Tried on windows it says my system is not compatible as it has 1 comp that not compatible and that is clearly incorrect as I was on the S2 beta, I have uninstalled all apps then restarted by downloading S2 multiple times but just going round in a circle. Any idea how to get rid of beta? Or do I start a new system? I didnt want to do this as I will lose years of historical set up and I’ve multiple speakers I reported this on Monday when app came out but only had auto mail feedback
I was going to put my Sonos Arc on a floating TV Stand. The ARC would be about two fit off the ground on top of the floating TV stand. Is that too low to have the ARC? How low off the ground could the ARC be to still maximize effectiveness? Also, that would create a lot of space between the ARC and TV (as much as 25 inches, could be lower if I lower the tv). Is there a maximum distance the ARC can be from TV where it does not lose any effectiveness? I have a 75 inch TV.
Which format is better for Sonos ARC devices? Dolby Digital 5.1 or Dolby Multi-channel PCM 5.1?
Hi Sonos,Please bring Trueplay functionality to the Sonos Port. I think this would significanlty differentiate the Port vs. competing products in the market and for me would make buying the Port a slam-dunk decision in favor of the Port. My 2-channel audio system currently benefits immensely from room correction but I’m looking to streamline my setup towards a Port as the sole source. I’d also happily pay an optional upcharge for such functionality if it was added and sold as an optional addon. Benefit to me would be in retiring an old PC, monitor and software currently providing digital room correction and simplifying my setup. Benefit to Sonos would be an added revenue stream for Port and more sales of Port’s the members of the audio community in similar circumstance wanting to yield better performance out of their 2-channel setups and interaction with their listening space. Would be okay with room measurements being provided via the Sonos app on a mobile phone though I feel higher
I just read this about your recent SEC filing: https://www.theverge.com/2018/7/11/17559380/sonos-airplay-2-support-software-update-download “We expect that in the near to intermediate term, this backward compatibility will no longer be practical or cost-effective, and we may decrease or discontinue service for our older products,” says Sonos in a recent SEC filing. When will you let customers know about which products will be affected by this discontinuation plan? Clearly you know internally since you say in the near to immediate term this policy is going ahead. I presume for example the first gen Play 5 you no longer sell will be affected and the old Sonos Bridge. The problem for those of us using speakers with online services such as Spotify probably means once API changes are made by the service provider, we'll almost certainly be shut out from using those services with our older Sonos speakers. There's nothing particularly shocking about this. I'm curious what the plan

Hello everyone, So I recently got into the Sonos ecosystem and I enjoy it a lot. I started off with a Playbar but I soon got a Sub as well. One weird thing I notice is when the Sub turns on (so receives a signal when idle), it softly pops. This isn’t a very deep popping sound or crackle. I think the pop is in between 100 and 120 hz. It happens when I turn the TV on and when I start to play music through the Sonos app or Samsung music. My question is: Is this normal when the sub turns on after being idle? Or is this not common and should I worry? When it has turned on it delivers great quality and rich bass. The Playbar does not pop when it turns on (not with or without the sub enabled). I want this system to last since the price tag was through the roof, so can somebody help me out? I don't want my Sub to break in the near future or worse, when the warranty expires, because I did not sort this out.
In Android 11 media apps have their controls residing above the notifications in a separate section where you van swipe left and right between controls from different apps. Sonos controls are however not in this section but are sitting between the regular notifications (see screenshot). Please include them in the proper place.
