Please, without delay, add immediately to S1 & S2, the name of the playlist that is currently in queue. This would help a lot when searching a multitude of playlists. This should be a simple fix.
I have one group of speakers consisting of an Arc, Sub (Gen 3), and two One SLs as rears. I have another group of Fives running as a stereo pair. When listening to music I have both groups going and it sounds great, as you might imagine. :-) The system does play loud, no doubt about it! But I want it louder, and I can tell it’s definitely capable of more volume! I’m playing music via my iPhone on Airplay. I do *not* have the volume limiter enabled. I think I gained a few decibels by forcing “uncompressed” music rather than “automatic” switching for compression. The “loudness” setting is enabled. Any other ideas? Thanks!
Hey! I just upgraded to the Arc and have 2 Play 1’s for rears. I also have the new sub. Just wondering if jumping to the Sonos Fives would be worth it? I have a 16’ x 22’ movie room and I’ve read that the Fives are “too much” sound in smaller rooms. Thoughts? Thanks!
Review: Sonos AMP and In-Ceilings for surround As some of you may have seen from my posts during the last year, I have been building a new house. We recently moved in and I finally got to hook up my new home-theater setup:2x Sonos Amps4x B&O Celestial BOC861x Sonos Sub 1st. gen65” LG GX Oled Background I have been using Sonos for more than 10 years now. Except for the Sonos Arc, I have owned all of the previous home theater speakers, including the Playbar, Playbase and the Beam. My previous setup was a Playbar combined with 2 Play:3s as surrounds and a Sonos Sub. In our new house, we wanted to do all in-ceiling to create a lightweight feel in our living room, which is also why we decided on the ultra slim and no-gap wall mounted LG GX. I considered many different options, before finally deciding on the Amp to drive the setup. My concerns were: Limited codec support (no DTS, no Atmos, no DD Plus)No HDMI in/out, meaning that I would have to wire 1 HDMI cable from the tv to the
I bought 2 Sonos Amps recently when we moved to a new house with 2 sets of built-in speakers. Then I bought a Port that is now connected to a CD player and a pair of KEF LS50 wireless speakers. All of that works, but I want to also connect our turntable (with no preamp) and the two Amps are not close, owing to the location of the wires for the built-in speakers. Do I need to buy yet another Amp for the turntable, or could I find a used 2nd Gen Connect:Amp to connect to the turntable? I know it wouldn’t be compatible w/Airplay 2, but as long as the Connect:Amp gets the turntable on the network, wouldn’t that work?
I am building a house in the near future (well, someone else will be doing the building!), and I am considering speaker options for our open plan living / kitchen / dining. The kitchen / dining spaces are diagonally behind the living space. I am looking at the Sonos AMP with in-ceiling speakers for their simplicity and aesthetics. The speaker set-up will be used to provide sound for the TV, play music via Airplay from iPhones, and play vinyl records on my turntable. I was thinking of getting 4 in-ceiling speakers, to position mainly over the living area. Or, two in-wall speakers and two in-ceiling speakers above / in front of the living space. This would be positioned well for stereo sound when watching TV, but also provide enough sound when listening to music in the kitchen space - I don’t really want to have two amps with separate speaker connections in this room. I may complement this with a subwoofer and the One SL speakers as surrounds behind the couch in the living space Coul
Why would I want to upgrade my current Sonos speakers/playbar when it never ever worked perfect. You can’t get help with the crackling noise, you can’t find answers for your situation here at the website. You spend over $2000 on this and you would think you will get a good sounding system but it a piece of crap. I wouldn’t recommend this system to no one.
Exactly what it says. We don’t have any “old” S1 devices connected. We have 9 zones, and they all show up on our iPhone Sonos controller app (the gold icon, S2 app), but 2 of them do not show up on the macOS app. It happens that the 2 that are missing are the first 2 alphabetically but not sure that has to do with anything. Yes, I have rebooted _everything_ repeatedly, before you ask. Sonos used to work amazing with no problems. We had over 10 zones including 2 playbars, 2 subs, 4 play 3’s, 3 play 1’s and 2 play 5’s. We got rid of 2 of them because they were “old” S1 devices. Our house has Google Wifi mesh networking. And we have the Boost. This is just so frustrating that you are always messing with everything, and now it’s messed up. I’m on macOS 10.15.7. Please don’t say to upgrade to Big Sur b/c I’m not ready to do that yet.
bonjour, peut-on associer le caisson de grave (sub sonos) a 2 fives? est-ce que les graves sont alors de qualité Hi-fi? est d'un intérêt réel mélomane?. merci pour vos réponses
Hello, I have a play one so and wanted to purchase the stands. However I don’t see anywhere for the Ethernet cable to go. Please know before someone says “why do you need and Ethernet cable” that we do need it and that’s not negotiable so please advise if I can pull the Ethernet cable through this stand. thanks so much
I had searched here and on other forums to see if this would work, but I couldn’t find anything definitive. So in case it helps others...I am very excited that I am able to get 5.1 multichannel PCM working for SACDs on my Sonos system! My setup:Arc + Sub (g2) + 2x Play:1 surrondsTV: Sony XBR 55x950G (connected to Arc by e-arc HDMI)Blu-ray Player (plays SACDs): UBP-X700 (connected to TV by HDMI) I just plugged it in and put in an SACD disc and it worked! I’m very pleased that my collection is not going to waste.System Info in the Sonos app shows that it is playing 5.1 PCM. Is there anyway to know what bitrate it is coming in at? (I’m no expert at this stuff, so I’m not sure it makes much of a difference to me, but I’m curious). Adam
Whenever a song plays where there is a main artist and a featured artist (example: Megan tha Stallion ft Beyonce) then Sonos doesn't show the featured artist. It only shows Megan's name. Source is YouTube music. Also, i have the old playbar with sub and surrounds (play 1s).. whenever TV is the source and i decide to pause TV and play music via the playbar and surround system... Music plays as expected. But when I press play on TV.. the TV sound doesn't come through. I have TV autoplay toggled on so TV should override the music but it never does in this scenario.Yet the missing featured artist bugs me most. I keeps on having to google or open the YouTube music app to find out who is featured.
I order my Arc in late October from Sonos.com it was back ordered and didn’t arrive until late Nov.There was no information on setting up Disney Free offer. When I called customer support they said I was sent an email with info following the order conformation email. I checked all my email accounts there was not sign of any email.I contacted customer service they said it was over . I contacted Disney they were willing to help but needed the link on email that I didn’t receive . Contacted customer service again to find the email that was supposed to be sent to me. They have not responded after several requests. Anyone else have the same problem ?
My wife and I sit on separate sofas, mine being the one off centre to the right. My wife isn’t too bothered about rears. I was thinking of placing 1 on the book shelf and 1 on the brown cabinet to the left. Would this interfere with the sound that she gets?
I would welcome some advice please. S1 / S2 and Surround Sound I invested heavily in Sonos over a number of years. My system in my home has 2 Play 5s, a Play 3, , 2 Sonos Connects, 3 Play Ones and several Play: 1s. I recently added the Sonos Ones so that I can use Airplay to the rest of my speakers by grouping with my Ones. Evidently, my entire system is stuck on the S1 controller. I want to upgrade to a surround package for the TV in my living room and was going to buy a Sonos Arc, Sub and 2 more Sonos Ones. However, from what I understand, I will then have two systems in my house. The new units for my surround system will be on S2 and everything else will be on the S1 controller. This is not ideal as it is nice to have music playing all over the house, especially for parties et cetera. Can anybody advise me because I cannot see a way that I can justify the purchase and then end up with a system that is in some ways worse than the one that I have?
I’ve got Playbar and two Play 1 set up as sorround. Right sorround keeps dropping off. Multiple factory reset , connecting to ethernet has not helped at all. I then took this to sonos support and spend over 2 hours on chat / phone call / remote session giving access to my computer. my router settings chagnes multiple times , router rebooted multiple times. All Sonos rebooted multiple times , ungroup sorround and regroup it. But nothing helped. It’s only with Right side sorround speaker the problem. After spending much long time on my computer thru remote doing commands / pings / changing IP settings Sonos engineer just does not want to give up and looking at me as if one trying to score free speaker. With sonos I would expect some trust in customers and be fair just replace the bloody faulty bit , why piggy bank on customers to figure out issue with your software while in this case it’s evident hardware is at fault.
Hi. I have 5 Sonos boxes and registered them all for trade up. I then bought a new Amp and sold a Connect:Amp. The trouble is that my trade up credit seems to have gone from a different box (a Connect) and the Connect:Amp that I sold is no longer showing as an available credit. There seems to be no control over which box the credit is used from and I now appear to have lost a credit because the box I sold is no longer plugged into my system. How can this be correct? Am I missing something here? I thought that having registered the boxes for trade up, the credits would always be available to me to use. Is there any way to get it back?
Hello all,New to Sonos community and can’t wait for my install! I am upgrading my current 49” TV to an LG 65” OLED CX series, and also (finally) getting a Sonos Arc with a sub. It seems I have three options for the Arc:Sanus mount (https://www.sanus.com/en_US/products/mounts/wssatm1/) which will hang just below TV. It is adjustable for both height and depth. Mount was designed in collaboration with Sonos. This is the option that the installers are doing unless I change my mind between now and then. Separate Sonos wall mount. Place on current console, which is 23” tall. The top of stand is 11.5” below bottom of TV (edges are marked with paper), which is 34 1/2” above floor. This puts the center of the Arc about 9 3/4” below bottom of TV. * Tried to post a picture, but can’t seem to get it to work. Get a new TV stand that is taller, in the range of 26-27”. For what it’s worth, my viewing distance is 9’ and the living room is pretty small--I live in a condo. I’ve researched it
The transfer from Google Play Music to You Tube Music has been pretty unsatisfactory, particularly as far as user’s own uploaded libraries are concerned. Until a few days ago under Library/Albums just a few albums used to show up under the Uploads heading (in my case only as far as the A’s). Today, under Library/Albums, the Uploads tab seems to have disappeared completely which makes finding stuff very problematic. What is going on?
Hello,I would really appreciate some help with this….I have a Play 1 and a Connect Amp.I have a large library of music of my own on iTunes. Previously, I used the ‘play from this device’ to play this music from my iPad. When this disappeared I moved everything to GooglePlay and it worked fine. When I was told that this was going as well I was told to move everything to Youtube. I made the transfer and all was ok.This weekend I went to play an album and found that all that is stored on my Youtube account is a few playlists-none of my other music at all. I went back to Googleplay (but of course I cannot see what is actually there anymore) and requested to transfer my library again. Transfer complete, but the same playlists remain with no other music.I want to play my music from my iPad through Sonos. I do not want to have to pay a subscription to a music service. Apparently my devices cannot connect through airplay and so I am seemingly stuck without a solution. Can anyone suggest a free
I have a large (>65.000 which seem to be the limit) library of mp3 & FLAC music, that I want to stream to my various Sonos units. The library is sorted A-Z, and I don’t want anything to crawl around and try to map the music, creating playlists and that sort of thing. I just want to go down the file structure, choose my album and stream it. Nothing else.If I do this on a PC, it works fine, no problems. But in this day & time, it would be convenient to do it on my IPhone, pref. using an app. Just like I do when playing Spotify or web-radio. And this is where I hev a problem - I cannot find any app that can do this.Either they want to create & download playlists, album art, etc. (Sonos, Plex, and others), or they do what I want (DLNA Player, zcloud, FLACbox etc. apps) but I can only direct the music to one (1) speaker. Where I want to hear the music on my Port, my Sonos One, Move, five, etc. simultaneously. Does anyone have a good idea on how to play a big collection of mp3
Hi,about three years ago, there was this big update, that gave the Sonos App it’s current black/white design. And with this update, a little but really reasonable new feature which had been integrated just a couple of month before, unfortunately disappeared again. Since then i filled in many opinion surveys and emphasized this, but I don’t think anyone’s listening. That new little feature was a little gearwheel icon in that main window where you could see all your rooms, that opened up a PopUp window with a direct shortcut to the “Room Settings” of that certain room.I like the logical structure of the Sonos App but find it somehow unnecessary to need up to 5 clicks to reach the room settings everytime - and I really do feel the need to adjust the Sub or Surround levels almost everytime I change the content on TV.The fact that you took away something that we already had frustrates me most. Does anyone remember this?It doesn’t have to be that gearwheel icon again. I for instance don’t nee
So I updated my Sonos app to S1 this morning and then my speakers. At the end of the update all my speakers were showing. Went to play some music and all grouped except my play:5 (1st gen). Went to go add the play:5 again to the group and it was gone. Play:5 just showing a white light. Restarted the play:5 and still won’t add. Factory reset the play:5 and added it again, it showed up! Went to play some music and it disappeared again. Restarted my WiFi just in case. All work fine except this play:5. Annoying thing is it was working fine this morning before the S1 update :(
I tried to connect a new sonos amp with a sonos subwoofer. amp is connected to 2 speaker and I would like add subwoofer in Wi-Fi.It connects correctly from app but it doesn’t work.
I CANT SEEM TO GET SONOS ARC DOLBY ATMOS TO WORK ON MY LG CX 55 OLED! Whenever SONO ARC isn't connected to my TV, the ATMOS works but it doesn't work while connected.I've tried everything far as in switching sound mode to HDMI ARC. Putting Digital Sound Out to PASSTHROUGH & I also tried AUTO.I've tried enabling eARC in my TV settings. I even bought a Ultra High Speed HDMI cord from best buy.I've tested Disney+ content that supports ATMOS but still isn't showing any signs of ATMOS on my SONOS ARC. I also tried some Netflix content and yes I do have premium but still failed. On the SONOS app it shows that I'm watching ATMOS content but I'm not getting any signs of it.Here's a quick video of my problem: https://drive.google.com/file/d/13mzPM1FALrFwew7DDKWFdHLJGceP0zsa/view?usp=drivesdk
