I have added Sonos Beam to my TV in the Kitchen this week and set up Alexas and I can ask Alexa questions etc etc , but when I ask for music example ‘Play BBC Radio 2’ it responds saying ‘Playing BBC Radio 2 from BBC sounds’ but nothing plays , Same request ‘Play Virgin Radio’ responds ‘Saying playing Virgin Radio from TuneIn Radio’ but nothing comes out of the speaker. -Also Amazon Music does not work, when asking ‘Play 90’s music’ response i get is ‘first enable the skill for the Sonos beam in the Alexa App and then discover devices’ this I think is the problem and what devices is it trying to discover ? I also have the same Beam in my TV room for the last year and this works perfectly with all of the above commands as does several Alexa Echos .
I have over 20 Sonos speakers in my home. They are all compatible with the new Sonos S2 app. When I try to create an automations in HomeKit such as arriving home, It always causes the scene to fail. When I remove the audio from the scene, it works fine.I want to have my music to play to my speakers. I have selected the speakers to play and have selected the music in Apple Music and have checked it and adjusted the volume to where I want it to play. The artwork is shown when I get back to the Scene I am creating. Can you give me suggestions on how to have this work if there is a way to make it work. If not, then please ask your technical team to consider adding this to a future update. Thank you very much.
How to I tell Harmony Hub to change Port to the Input (Audio In). I would like to define an activity „Listening to CD“, which starts Amp, Sonos Port and CD Player (connected to Port) and switch Port´s source to the CD Player?
Greetings,I have the pre airplay system till the update came out.I can run the Sonos wirelessly through my eero system fine. When I try to play through airplay, it not found.I’ve tried adding to Apple Homekit, and you guessed it, not found, but add through the manufactures app. Is that the key? What is the sequence to accomplish that?
Is there a way to conect the Viviant door camera to the sonos speakers and use them as a door bell. Their system does not connect to the doorbell. So being a wireless system I wanted to know if you thought of connecting your product to viviant or if you would think about working on that project. Thanks for all the years of great sounds… Keep up the good work!JW
Hi, does anyone know anything about the Violet SmartSwitch? I don’t see any mention of ‘Works with Sonos’ approval on their website.www.violet-ultra.co.uk
Hi!If I buy a Sonos One Gen 2 and setup Alexa, will I be able to control any other alexa enabled devices, such as video doorbell or I will be able to control only this Sonos speaker? Neven
Hello, I have a few questions regarding S2 and the two ways of connecting to Sonos speakers locally: UPNP This API is “undocumented” and not officially supported, but it works. Sonos Control API on the LAN This API is not yet available, and its release date is unknown. My question is whether the S2 update will remove the UPNP functionality from upgraded speakers? If so, will the Sonos Control API on the LAN be available when S2 is released? If the answer to the first question is yes, and the answer to the second question is no, it would mean that upgraded S2 products cannot be controlled locally. This would mean that new products (such as the Arc) cannot be controlled locally at all, at least for the time being. I have tried searching for an answer to these questions, but I could not find them, so I decided to ask here. I had originally intended to preorder a Sonos Arc, however my setup (computer which serves my local music library and calls my Play 5 speakers using UPNP) requires a
Hi Everyone, Just brought a Sonos Arc and pretty disappointed that I cant get it to play a doorbell alert from my Ring Door View Cam like all of the other Echos / Shows I have in the house as it doesn't appear in the list of announcement devices. I’ve had a look through the forums but can’t find any news on whether this is being implemented at any point. It seems strange that I now have to keep an Echo in my living room to get the doorbell alerts there. I have noticed that the arc can be enabled in the Alexa app for announcements and calling / messaging which seems to be working fine in my testing so seems like its just 3rd party devices that can’t announce? Has anyone had any luck getting this working or can point me in the right direction to put in a feature request for this? Thanks in advanceJoe
At this price range it was suprising to see no Chromecast support. As an Android user who purchased both the SONO Move and Bose Portable Home Speaker and compared them to decide which one I liked the most. Seeing Chromecast support not the move would have made my choice a no brainer.
Hello everyone, i have two Sonos One SL in different rooms. They work fine. The problem is that i cannot control them with Siri nor with the Home app. It shows the following message „Controls unavailable for this device.” Now, i have done a reset to all devices including the router and reconnected everything again. Still the same error. All devices have the latest updates. Does anybody know some secret settings i‘m missing somewhere? Best regards, Irfan.
Is er een deurbel die kan communiceren met desonos speakers en zo ja welke? Can a doorbell Connect with sonos, if so, what kind of brand/type
Sonos has always been a good citizen when it comes to openness in smart homes: AirPlay 2 support was a key factor in my purchasing decision. However, as I build out and attempt to future proof my smart home, I’m looking for Thread support in my future buying decisions. The Thread protocol is aan IPv6-based, low-power mesh networking technology for IoT (Internet of Things) home automation products, intended to be secure and future-proof. It is supported by all the main smart home vendors.A vital part of the a Thread mesh network is the Border Router, which forwards data from the Thread mesh network to your home WiFi or Etnernet network. For best results there needs to be multiple Border Routers in a home (just like a mesh WiFi setup).Apple’s recently announced HomePod Mini includes Thread support and acts as a Border Router. It’s low cost makes it an ideal device for a Thread deployment.Question for Sonos:Is it possible to add Thread Border Router support to Sonos speakers via S2 softwar
Two questions:The microphone can be activated ONLY by pressing the microphone button on the speaker. True or false? Pressing the microphone button will not activate the mic if the Touch Controls setting in the Sonos app is toggled OFF. True or false?rdp
I've just got a sonos move. All was great until I tried to use voice assistant during playback, you know to change the volume etc! Voice works fine until music is playing and then the sonos just doesn't pick up the prompt (alexa, or hey google). Its the same if I'm using Alexa or Google VA and also however music is being played, e.g. Spotify or tunein etc. Pause the music and it works fine again.
I’m a bit confused, as I now have the new Amp I so thinking I could add it to HomeKit but it can’t find any sonos devices, what am I doing wrong.Frankly I would have thought sonos would have addressed this in S2 and added the code to scan. While I’m here which isn’t know often, what happened to Ryan S, I can see the normal gang are here which is great - sorry guys just don’t get the time to be on here but miss you all
Hi All, Here’s what i would like to achieve: PIR is triggered, or, laser beam is broken Notification is sent to a Smart Hub Smart Hub triggers Sonos Sonos plays a Dog Bark at Max volumeFirstly - is that possible? Secondly, what Smart Hub offers the best integration with Sonos to allow me to do this? Smarthings? Homeseer? Hubitat? Thank you
I wonder if there is any plan to make possible the use of Sonos Move for audioconferencing? Given that this speaker has also a microphone and a Bluetooth connection, it should be quite straightforward to offer this functionality, isn't it? As for me, I would find it useful to have my Sonos Move at the office and switch now and then in audio conference Mode when needed....
I have a Sonos Arc and just bought a HomePod mini and want to be able to control the Arc through Hey Siri commands like Hey Siri turn the volume down on arc. I have added the arc to the home app but it says controls unavailable, when I ask Siri to change the volume it says there was a problem. I have removed the arc and re added it a couple times and still no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Does Sonos one integrate with Nest Hello? As in, does the Sonos One speaker sound a chime when someone presses the smart doorbell at home? Searched around, could not find anything conclusive. This should absolutely be a supported api/feature of the integration and I am looking to get more clarity ASAP on planning some smart home purchases. Any advise is appreciated!
Hi! New owner introduced to the Sonos family as of this weekend, picked up a pair of One SL’s to be used in the garage. Previously I’ve been an all HomePod guy. So here is my issue, and let me know if this is simply just not a feature of non-Apple speakers via AirPlay. With my HomePods, I have each designated to specific rooms - and to play I hit the AirPlay button, scroll to select desired room, browse music and play. By this method, all sound is completely separated from my phone, IE: if I wanted to pull up YouTube the sound will go through my phone and the music will be uninterrupted on the speakers. Also, adjusting my phones volume with the buttons will do just that, adjust my phones volume and not the speaker volume. I figured this would be exactly how it would work on a non-Apple speaker when connected to HomeKit. To my dismay, my ‘Garage’ room completely disappeared from the AirPlay toggle once I removed my HomePod from that room and added the two Sonos One’s. The only way
Hi,I bought a Sonos Beam soundbar for my TV and am happy with it. But I also want to add the soundbar to my Google Home Speaker Group. I have seen threads on this support group saying this is not possible and I certainly have not been able to do it. I just wonder that since the threads are the best part of a year old, has there been any progress in fixing this problem? Without this being resolved I will not be purchasing any Sonos add-ons. My Bang and Olufsen speakers are part of my Google Home Speaker Group.Thanks. G St
When will voice assistants be available in Colombia?
I have just purchased an Arc and set it up on its own S2 system , whilst leaving all my other speakers on my old S1 system. I know have an issue with my harmony ultimate remote where it scans for the Sonos system and allows you to control it. The issue is that the harmony finds the old S1 system and not the new S2 system. is it possible to rename the Sonos system so they appear as separate systems when the harmony searches for them, then I should be able to select my arc when setting up the harmony ?
