Hello, I'm wondering if I can stream music from my Sonos app into my google cast that is hooked up to my living room receiver? I currently have a 2 Connect + AMPs feeding two different sets of speakers but my living room receiver just has a Google chromecast and Apple Airport Express. I'd like to have my Sonos app streaming to the living room as well, but if I can spend $30 instead of $350 I'll go that route instead.

I have a pair of PLAY:1s in a stereo pair. Both connect to SonosNet via a BOOST. What happens if I directly connect the two speakers with an Ethernet cable? Will one of the speakers receive its communication over the wire, while the other talks to the BOOST wirelessly? Just curious, not trying to solve any problem I'm experiencing.

I just replaced my wireless router and now can't connect to my sonos system. Any advice?

I own 4 x P1s, 2 x P3, Sub + 2 x Gen 2 Play 5's and the very ... very... sad Playbar. I have read many forums over the years and I have seen the anguish between many customers. I have never really commented because my patience was long and lasting... assuming one day you would care about this one point... but you are selling a locked eco-system that has the capability to drive customers mad. Hi, I currently own a Play 5 and a Bridge (both 3 years old) and I absolutely love the ease of use and the sound coming out of those speakers. The Bridge is in my living room next to the router and the Play 5 speaker is in the kitchen. I also use a separate, non-Sonos, system which consists of the following: In the living room: 1) NAD 3020 Receiver from the late 1980s - Has "Aux", "Phono", "Tuner", "Tape" inputs 2) Rega RP 1 turntable connected to the above NAD's Phono input 3) PSB Bookshelf speakers also wired into the above NAD In the bedroom: 1) In-wall speakers with homerun wiring that runs into the living room. They have their own volume control in the bedroom. But these speakers are not hooked up to anything so they are not in use right now. It seems to move a speaker from room to room, it is a few buttons / change of room setups..etc Wondering if anyone knows if Sonos is planning to (or has work arounds) for having 1 speaker in multiple rooms. I get that if i'm trying to play different music in different rooms, a choice will have to be made for said speaker.. or maybe the option to play different music in those rooms is disabled.. But here is my scenario: I have a play bar, and two play speakers. They are set up with my tv as the bar and surround stereo speakers. Great. Now since the play speakers are kinda small, and somewhat portable, I planned to have one of them easily unplugable, so we can bring it to another room when we want, and play music in that other room (without playing on all the rest of the speakers). I'd like to do this easily.. not have to break up the home theater set up.. add it to another room.. then have to redo everything when i bring the speaker back. Seems like i should be able to throw

Hello, In the past, I've received messages on the Sonos android app that the Sonos App has an update available and I would usually ignore it, providing everything is working reasonably well. Today, however, for the first time, the android app would not let me access Sonos at all until I hit the red "Update" banner. Written above was "Sonos App Needs Updating". When I hit Update, I am taken to the Google sign-in page. I don't ever have my phone signed in to Google. I don't ever want to sign in to Google. But now I can't operate Sonos from my phone. Surely, considering I'm a paid up 'registered' Sonos owner, I could download the app directly from the Sonos website. Or maybe I can? Is that possible? Many thanks.

I purchased a Sonos Playbar and Sub with a Bridge a couple of years ago and they have been amazing ever since! In the near future I intent to purchase another playbar, some Play 5s, some Amps to drive ceiling speakers etc... We have very good wireless coverage throughout the house using Ubiquiti APs, but all Sonos devices are hard wired using CAT6, and I intend to keep this the same as I expand. With this in mind I was always under the impression that the Sonos Bridge was essentially the hub of the system, I thought it was what controlled the full system, kept the settings, organised the rooms, kept the login details for Spotify and other music solutions, pulled updated etc. From what I have been reading though, it is basically just an access point, is this correct? If this is the case then I don't need the bridge I don't think... Can someone confirm? If this is the case, then where are all the settings stored? Spotify is linked to Sonos so what device organises that ? How am I

I have set up 2 rooms however I can't see them both. If I want to say see the lounge I have to switch off the speaker in the bedroom.

Do Sonos make a speaker that can used in a shower room or bathroom? I am aware that a Play 1 can be used in a humid atmosphere, but not sure if it would be suitable for a steamy atmosphere in a wet room.

have a play 5 and a play 3 in the same room and want to create a stereo pair. The app allows me to link either to another of the same, ie. two play 5's or two play 3's, but not one of each. Why is this? Surelt the technology is the same, just different speaker size and case sound path dynamics. I should be able to pair play 1 to play 3 and play 5.

We are looking at purchasing a Sonos system for our office but we have a few specific requirements. I think we would probably get several Play 1 speakers and a Connect base station. These will all be on a wired Ethernet network. 1) Can we disable the volume controls on the speakers? We have problems when staff have control over the volume level. 2) Can we reduce the bass frequencies to an absolute minimum? We have one team who usually listen to music on a closed Macbook Air and they don't want a full frequency response speaker. 3) Can the volume of all speakers be controlled centrally? 4) Is there a client available for Macs and PCs that will enable playback of the streamed content using the computer's built-in speakers? Hello, I am wanting to enter the wireless world and free up some real estate and clean up our old ,but trusty multizone home theatre.I am looking at purchasing a Playbar, Sub, 2 Play 5's for rears and a connect amp to power my weather rated outdoor speakers. I like to have the ability to listen to music outside in stereo, while the wife or kids are watching tv or a movie in surround inside. We also enjoy watching movies or tv outside in the hot summer months through our big window where we see the tv...while hangin out in the pool...just in stereo is fine with just the two outdoor speakers. Is this possible with the sonos? With my yamaha rxv 2500..I just hit watch tv outside and with harmony remote it would switch automatically and voila! Just wondering if it would do it and if its not to encumbersome to do so before I make this awefully large purchase...cheers and thank you for any help.

Can someone advise I had a problem indexing my music library, in short, the sonos software would not allow me to remove a music share (music folder on my PC desktop) so I decided to uninstall all the controllers on 3 mobile phones and the software on my PC and try again. However, when I re-installed the software on my PC the problem remained. I therefore followed advice on this community and carried out a factory reset on both my Play 1's and my Play 5 (Gen 2). When I tried to follow the instructions to connect to a new system the network will not recognise any of the speakers. I have also tried to connect the Sonos 5 by Ethernet cable directly to the Router, the router detects the Sonos 5 but when the option to connect is selected the installation does not go any further and I am provided a warning that the system could not connect. I have ensured the Firewall is configured to allow Sonos controllers and have turned the firewall (Norton 360) off/disabled. I have also tried switc

Hi everyone… my first post here… (apologies it’s a long one)! I’m sure I’m not alone in having to juggle with integrating Sonos and historic AV equipment.... In the last year or so I have bought two Play 3’s - for the kitchen and dining room. They’ve done the job brilliantly. In my lounge I have the following setup: an old 42” Panasonic plasma TV connected to a Denon AVR-2312 - with B&W left, right and centre speakers. This setup works perfectly when watching TV - the sound when watching movies etc is amazing, even without a sub. The problem I have is when I want to listen to music. My Denon AVR no longer connects to my router - so I can’t stream music directly from my iPhone or Mac. The USB connection on the front of the AVR is also now not working! Research tells me these issues are not uncommon with Denon AVRs. At the moment, I connect an old Apple TV to my AVR and use Airplay. This works - but isn’t as slick as it should be! AirPods are a genius product. In my case, however, I am unable to use the AirPods from my Apple Watch unless I uninstall Sonos Controller App. --- And I can reliably reproduce the connection issue when I re-install Sonos Controller on my iPhone. When I delete the app everything goes back to normal Apple Watch connects to AirPods. Apple claims on their support website: "AirPods are connected to your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time. Sound automatically switches between them." Well, in my case, with Sonos Controller installed it doesn't work. Did anybody else notice the same behavior? Feed-back appreciated. :?

I saw a video on connecting the Connect to a record player, receiver and speakers. The system was connected like this: Record player > preamp > Connect > AV receiver > speakers In that way he was able to broadcast the sound to sonar speakers in other rooms and also broadcast Spotify etc. to the receivers speakers. My question is. Is the sound that goes through the Connect analog or does it get digitalized? I would like to keep the analog vinyl sound from the old system. I'm just about to buy a Sonos set up. I have 2 TV's I need sound systems for and I need the sub and the songs sound bar kit for both. Can i stream music to one and or both set up or does the sound bar only stream one source? What do people recommend i buy for this sort of situation?
