I read most of the posts on this topic but still a little unclear on the Sonos Components required. Currently have regular Paradigm in Ceiling Speakers ( for Rears), a Paradigm Powered Subwoofer. and a newer Sony TV. Mostly stream and use a media server to watch TV and movies. Also have an older Sonos Playbar. In order to use my existing components I assume all I need is to buy a Sonos amp, connect my TV (via HDMI), plug into the sub port and connect my rears all to the AMP. Would this be correct and would it work and will the Sonos be able to “tune” the room? Of course the Soundbar would be my Fronts and Center (for now) and can I assume nothing needed to plug into the soundbar other than power?. Any assistance appreciated. Thanks, John
I just purchased a pair of Era 300s to add to my Sonos collection. I can fully understand the reasoning behind the absence of sound from the front-firing speakers when part of a surround setup. What I cannot understand is why Sonos is depriving its customers of enjoying the Era 300's full capabilities when listening to music in FULL mode while still in Surround mode. The only way around this is to remove them from surrounds, lose the Trueplay setting, and use them as a pair, only to have to add them back to the surround setup and re tune Trueplay every time. It's not like they are €40 speakers. Paying a premium price for such a product should leave customers looking forward to more products rather than regretting their purchase.
HiI recently installed have a Sonos Arc and Sub setup with two one SL surrounds. Is it possible to connect one Sonos play 5 to the system. Will the app allow it to be paired with the arc. If so possible how can it be done? I recently went to a friends place and he had two sonos sub and two fives as surrounds which gave awesome sound for music. I was hoping to add one 5 to the setup as I cant return my one SL now and so that I could get more sound especially for music.
Hello,I recently (4-5 months back) purchased a Sonos Arc and Sub (Gen 3) to add to my existing system of Play 1’s and Sub (Gen 2). Prior to buying these 2 new sonos products, I never had the below issues, but since connecting the Arc to my Living Room config (TV + 2 Play 1s + 2 Sub), there have been several instances when Sonos has started playing music on its own in the middle of the night, or sometimes early morning. And atleast 2 times now, while watching Netflix on TV via the connected playstation, the system randomly connected to Youtube (disconnecting from Netflix), and started playing a youtube video. The first time was a couple weeks ago, but the second time just happened a couple hours back, and I then went ahead and generated the Sonos diagnostics.I had to do it twice since the 1st time I may not have been connected to the home wifi. # 1279716390# 654016055 I briefly researched this on google the last time it happened, and saw some posts about spotify etc being the culprit for
So I recently completed my sonos surround. I have the Arc, era 300's in rear and dual subs. I was only using one sub but bought the second one to "finish" the system. I haven't noticed anything great with the second sub? I tuned the system with trueplay but the bass sounds ehhhh. On the app I have to turn the sub limit to plus 8 to get anything out of it. Is this normal? I see all the great reviews with dual subs, but I'm either missing something or have a settings issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,I have the following configuration:Sonos Ray Apple TV 4K Sony TV KD55AG9BAEPLinked with optical cable.THe audio is slightly stuttering during playback of audio dolby digital / atmos, but enough to be completely annoyingThe TV is setted up to output Dolby Digital Plus. No issues detected when playing sources with stereo 2.0 soundsI have tested:Doing the plug/unplung process Setting up the TV to PCM outputNeither fixed the problem
Hi there,We have a room with two Sonos amps, one for front pair of ceiling speakers and one amp for rear ceiling speakers and a Sonos Sub configured for 4.1 surround sound, all with wired ethernetIs there a Sonos product availlable (preferably with wired ethernet port) that could drop into this system to act as centre speaker to enable 5.1 surround sound?
Hi, looking to build a simple home theatre setup for movies and music. Not necessarily wanting to buy a separate sub. Is it possible and a good enough solution to use just a single Five speaker, horizontally, as rear surround speaker to supplement the Arc soundbar? I’m hoping Arc+Five would get low enough for my purposes as opposed to Arc with Ones. Dual Fives might be too costly for me. Thank You
I have had Sonos Beam plus 2 One SLs setup and working for a few months now and it was working beautifully playing music and TV. However it has suddenly stopped playing any sound through the surround speakers. The strange thing is I can control the volume from the Beam using the touch controls of the One SL but no sound comes out of them. I have checked everything and have even reset everything and set it all up again but issue persists.I can remove the surrounds and add them as a separate stereo pair and the play music fine - just not when as surrounds. If I remove them and try and re-add them I get an Oops! message after quite a long time trying. If I then cancel the setup the surrounds seem to have been added but again, they don’t emit any sound.Really confused as my system was working fine.Any help greatly appreciated.
I have a setup with an Arc, Sonos Sub, and non-sonos in-ceiling rear speakers connected with an Amp. I know the rear speakers and Amp work because if I set them as a separate channel I can play music through them. When I connect the Amp to the Arc + Sub as Surrounds it works in the app, but even if I turn “surround volume” up in the Sonos app I don’t seem to be getting any volume from the rear speakers. Any ideas?
Playing atmos movies from streaming services like netflix works fine even when loud. But when i play atmos dvds from my samsung dvd player there is an audible crackling sound thats associated to more bass heavy scenes no matter what volume it is set to. Primarily the transfomers age of darkness blu ray is one of the worst. It only occurs during atmos. If i change the dvd players ouput to regular 5.1 it no longer occurs. Any ideas whats wrong? Ive got the most up to date firmwares and highest hdmi versions needed.
Hello to the sonos community. I currently own a sonos arc, a sub, which are both placed by the TV and I own 2 sonos ones used as my rear speakers. I was thinking of adding 2 era 300 to my collection but had two questions. I live in a loft and currently the entertainment system is under a ~20ft ceiling, but the loft itself is not big (~1000sq.ft total). First, would it make sense of adding the speakers, given the size of my apartment and possible noise complaints from neighbors (currently not had a single complaint). And my second question is should I use the ERA300 speakers as rear speakers or front speakers? I do not want to replace the sonos ones with the ERA, but keep both.
I installed 6 One SL speakers in different rooms two days ago. Everything worked perfect until yesterday evening, when all of a sudden I could not play music in different rooms at the same time anymore.I can adress every single box seperately, so they all work. The app shows soundbars behind the selected rooms when I play multiroom, but in reality only one room has sound… How to fix this?
Dear All,I have a very simple question : i have a tv, and i would like to hear the sound of my tv through sonos multiroom environment in every room of my house. Could you please help me out on what equipment i have to buy and what protocol i have to use in order to connect these equipments together ?I thought a connected tv with connected speakers would work together easily, however it seems not to be the casethanks for your help
I am looking on purchasing a Sonos Arc, sub and 300’s for my surround sound solution soon. I am going from your typical AV receiver to all the speakers via wires. All my inputs go into my Onkyo AV receiver via HDMI and then one HDMI cable to the TV.I was wondering if I can just remove the speakers from the AV receiver and keep my inputs in place and essentially use my AV receiver as my HDMI hub. This is mostly because my TV does not have enough HDMI inputs. I would then use a HDMI Arc connection from my TV to the Sonos Arc soundbar and then of course connect the sub and 300’s via wireless. Would this work?Devices:LG 60” TVOnkyo receiver (can’t remember the model atm)HD FireStick (primary source for TV - YouTube TV, Netflix, Disney+, etc)Playstation 4Playstation 5Xbox XThanks in advance for your thoughts and inputRob
Hello everyone,First of all, please forgive my English !I would like some help on my problem ; I bough a Beam, my first Sonos product but I am quite disappointed…I connected the Beam to my TV via HDMI and works fine, connected to the wifi works fine too.I setup my router to shutdown the wifi during the night and then to run it at 8.00 am (router is still up, only wifi is shutdown). On the morning when wifi is back, every thing working good except I can’t connect to the Beam (unable to connect to sonos). It’s strange because in the wifi devices list I can see “Sonos ZP” connected, but on the app I can’t connect to it. If I want it to work I have to reboot my router, and then Sonos is back. I try this : put a fix IP address, separate the 2.4 and 5Ghz networks but still same thing ; in the morning when wifi is back, everything is working except the Sonos. Thanks for your help !
My SONOS was playing sound just fine but when a friend tried pairing with a SONY speaker I had, she inadvertently tried pairing it to my Sony TV which has my SONOS hooked to it. As soon as I canceled the attempt, my SONOS quit playing sound thru my TV. I have not been able to get it to work again. I’ve tried resetting the TV speakers to internal & then back to external. I’ve tried pushing the button on the back of the SONOS arc. I’ve tried unplugging the HDMI cable to the SONOS, waiting 30 seconds & plugging it back in. I’ve tried unplugging the HDMI cable to the SONOS, waiting for my TV to switch automatically to internal speakers, plugging it back in & waiting for my TV to switch automatically back to my external speakers, which it does but still no sound. I’ve tried unplugging the power to the SONOS, TV & DISH Joey, waiting 30 seconds & plugging it back in. I’ve tried resetting the Joey & the network connection. I have a SONOS Boost, but I didn’t try unpluggi
I thank that something is not ok with my setup. so when im using native Netflix app from my tv everything is perfect (i got dolby dogital 2.0 oraz 5.1 ) When there is stereo (dolby digital 2.0 oraz stereo pcm) i can hear some sounds from satelites (symfonisks) but when im watching same movie (that is not 5.1 but stereo only) VIA netlix (Firestik) at the app is always (dolby digital 5.1) and i cant hear any sound from satelites everything is perfect with movies that have 5.1 (working fine via both Netflix apps) btw. At Fire stick settings im using dolby dogital (not best ) couse with best firestick is using dd+ that my panasonic cant use via hdmi arc and i was Geting only stereo pcm (with i could hear some sound via satelites) just wondering if my setup is ok…
I have ten Sonos products in my house and have never had any issues with my setup until this week and I’m about to lose it.My Master Bedroom has a Sonos Beam with two Sonos Ones set up as Surround speakers. My Family Room has a Sonos Arc with a connected Sub.Both have worked flawlessly for YEARS in this setup on my Nest Wifi mesh, never a problem -- until this week. I noticed for both of those two setups, my surround and sub on both rooms are showing up as ? on my system in the S2 App and are not playing music. Here’s how it looks:Family Room TV (+?)ArcMaster Bedroom (+?+?)BeamTwo days ago I went through a few hours of self troubleshooting based on some posts. Factory resetting my speakers and trying to set them back up was giving me errors -- the speakers would connect individually but when I tried to add them as surrounds it would fail and give me an error message. I was finally successful by factory resetting my surrounds and sub, rebooting my main router and google wifi router/end
Hello ,Still trying to resolve set up with my New Beam. Its an older Samsung Model TV. HDMI ports don’t support ARC. I had issues getting my older Playbar to work, but was able to finally get the optical port to work on the TV. Now, I have moved the older TV downstairs and trying to hook up a BEAM with it (smaller space) and can’t get the optical adapter to work. Makes me think the optical port on the TV was bad. Any ideas how I can bypass this? Could the Optical port on my Sumsung TV be a different size that the adapter sent by Sonos? Airgetlam, hoping you might weigh in. Thank you, Mark
