Hello. A few months ago I bought a Sonos Arc Ultra, 2 Era 300s and two Sub 4s. It's working on an 85" TCL TV connected to an Apple TV 4K. The audio quality is spectacular. However, I'm having two problems:When I leave the system off for 10 minutes, when I turn it back on, the sound takes about 5 seconds to be heard. It's as if the amplifiers are turned off and only turn on after receiving a signal via HDMI.The other problem is the lack of volume under certain conditions. I've done extensive research online, and absolutely everything in the TV and Apple TV setup is in line with what's needed to get the best results. I've also tried TruePlay in various ways. Few content can be heard satisfactorily in terms of volume without using at least 70%.For comparison, I also have a Bose 600 + 5" subwoofer, and the volume of both systems is very similar, perhaps a little louder with the Bose.I've tried using the Apple TV output only, but the volume results are the same. An excellent example is the

Hi all,I was curious if anyone had come across this issue, or a similar one, with the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) - Audio generating audio feedback? In this particular instance it occurred on the Thor (2011) blu-ray during Loki hammer scene, where Loki attempts to pick up Thor’s hammer. This is the only instance I’ve had of this issue and I’m wondering if it’s possibly the blu-ray itself but before I pony up for a new one, I figured I’d ask here.

Bonjour j ai une playbar avec une sortie optique et mon téléviseur n’a que des prises hdmi . J ai acheté un adaptateur sons optique -hdmi et ça ne fonctionne pas . Une solution svp ? Moderator Edit:Google Translate-Hello, I have a Playbar with an optical output, but my TV only has HDMI ports. I bought an optical-to-HDMI audio adapter, but it doesn't work. Any solutions, please?

HelloI own a Beam Gen2; Sub-mini; and two Era300 speakers.Whilst I am reasonably technical I'm not a sound guy, I'm very much plug an play, and want an out of box no messing about experience. The Era300s are not ideally placed as stated on the Sonos website, they are placed in real life scenarios, due to my room they had to be wall mounted 1.4m high on the rear wall, directly opposite the tv and soundbar, yes the tv isn't at 42inches height but there are practical considerations, you can have everything. I follow the trueplay instruction video, yet I feel the system is not balanced, sounds good but missing that final touch do you not only have to walk around the seated area but alcoves and everywhere etc. I realise the sound bar atmos function is virtual, so with the era300s do I have to do do extra configuration, as I said Im not a sound tech engineer, just and end user. Besides things should not be complex right?   This trueplay has been run a few times yet

I have a Ray with Apple TV, everything works ok except the audio choices. I have the optical connected and airplay works as well. The issue I have is I want the audio to default to the optical, the Apple TV seems to default to the Airplay which is the only way I can have volume control, when I switch back to the optical I loose volume control. The Sono’s app works fine and I can control the ray with other Sono’a in my home. In short is there a way to only have optical audio and control it with the Apple Remote.

Hi!I owned a Arc + 2xEra 300 + Sub gen 3 setup and it was overwhelming on cinematic performance and average on music - I was missing the middle lows in music performance (which are very present on the demo sounds of sonos, so it's likely a DSP thing not hardware). As Arc Ultra promised better bass due to the new sound force technology, I made the upgrade and... well... I am not satisfied at all. Everything sounds the exact same as before. I did trueplay tuning (tried all three variants), EQ setup etc etc.I get even a little better performance turning the sub off in the mid los but then the deep subs are missing of course.I don't get why my SONOS system is performing so bad on mid-lows but only on music... All is perfect on movies... If sonos would only give us more control over music EQ :( That being said, I was asked by @Corry P to create a diagnostic. I created even three and made some troubleshooting:First try: Old system - everything as usual. I made a diagnostic with it playing a

Volume fluctuations occur intermittently when watching TV on Samsung and LG devices

Great quality until an update in 2025 that made speakers randomly pop. Tried all the things to help but still happens. Never ever purchase a product from this company.

I'm using Apple Music with a Sonos setup consisting of Arc + Sub + two Era 300 speakers. When I play the following album, playback consistently halts mid-track, and the Sonos system becomes completely unresponsive—as if it's frozen. After a short while, it recovers as though it had rebooted.https://music.apple.com/jp/album/tchaikovsky-the-sleeping-beauty-childrens-album-piano/1825381287(Tchaikovsky: The Sleeping Beauty; Children's Album; Piano Sonata, Op. 80; Theme and Variations, Op. 19/6 – performed by Danil Trifonov)If you're using Apple Music, could you try playing this album from the beginning and see if the issue occurs?(not via AirPlay, but directly from Sonos App) In my case, the problem happens 100% of the time, although the timing varies. It usually doesn't take long to reproduce. There have been reports in this community of similar issues with Sonos + Apple Music—such as tracks skipping, audio dropouts, or playback stopping unexpectedly—and I believe this may be related. From m

I have issues with the sound sync on a certain channel (TV4) in Sweden when I have my Sonos system connected to my TV (Samsung S90D).  The problem is quite random and will usually appear after the commercial break. If I change channel and go back again the problem will disappear.  I have tried to use both Ethernet and WiFi connected to the Arc Ultra with a good connection but it is the same both ways. If I disconnect the HDMI cable from the sound system everything seems to be okay again. I have changed the sync settings in the software but the problem will remain.  Any idea what can cause this sync issue?

Hi Guys,  I cannot seem to get my 2 Sonos Play ones to connect to with my beam to make a surround experience. I can connect the 2 speakers as single or as a stereo pair but when I click on the beam and add the 2 Sonos ones as surrounds they are coming up saying “not connected” I have tried to factory test both Sonos ones and the beam and I am still getting the same issue  I have attached a screen shot below

Hi. I have a Beam, Sub Mini and two Play1 for surround sound.  All speakers work with music and appear as one group. However during TV playback, the two Play1 speakers just have a light static noise. Sub is working, as is the Beam. TV playback is showing as 5.1 surround. Any ideas? Thanks 👍

I have a question about the Sonos Sound Bar app on my Smart TV. (My Sonos app on mobile phone works as expected and enables me to control all my audio settings. My question does not relate to the sonos app on my mobile phone). As part of setting up my sonos arc ultra and sub gen 4 with my smart TV, a mysterious "Sonos Sound Bar" app has appeared on my SmartTV. This app is grey with a white speaker image on it. Clicking on the app reveals no functionality at all: all I am shown is a series of weird black and white lines on the screen. The images look semi artistic and look like attempts to draw different types of sound waves. The images change every few seconds. But other than this, the app does nothing. And I am unable to delete it from my SmartTV Does anyone else have the same experience? What is this app for? It seems completely superfluous and bizarre.

I currently have an arc with 2 x 1sl’s for surrounds in my lounge and it works fine with the usual tv apps and my Virgin streaming box but when I use the Firestick the some bounces from arc to SL1 surround’s and back

HelloI am a long time user of the Sonos AMP (gen 2), connected to vintage (aka old) Kef Coda 70s.Sounds punchy, detailed & engaging! My question:Apple TV supports 24/48 kHz stereo sound via HDMI eARC.The Sonos Amp’s connector is HDMI ARC only.Does the Sonos AMP receive/play 24/48 kHz stereo via HDMI ARC, or is converted to 16/44.1 kHz (CD quality), or something else? There doesn’t seem to be a definitive answer for this that I can see?(I’m aware Apple Music Lossless 24/48 is available via the S2 app, but sometimes I prefer using the Apple Music interface on Apple TV)  Thanks in advance

My rear speakers never update, but everything else does. This seems to be a Sonos bug that they refuse to acknowledge. The issue is that from a network perspective the Arc and its subs appear as one entity all having the same MAC address (the arc connects to the network on wifi 2.4GHz and to the subs using a local 5GHz signal that does not go through the router).Come update time there is no network route to the subs, and the arc does not have the smarts to do the update on behalf of the subs.As a work around I have allocated the subs mac address in my router. When the update to the subs fails, I turn off the arc, restart the app, do an update, usually twice, once for each sub, then turn on the arc and we are back working. This is better that resetting subs as a lot of the advice suggests. It would be nice if there someone had a better workaround as it is obviously a network issues, not signal strength, interference etc.

Hi everyone, I’ve been doing some sound tests with my Sonos Arc Ultra + Sub Mini + two Ones setup and noticed something interesting. When I use the Netflix app directly on my Samsung Q95T TV, the Sonos app reports Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1.When I use Netflix on my Apple TV 4K (3rd gen), Sonos reports Dolby Digital 5.1 instead. On the TV, HDMI audio is set to Auto (no passthrough option available), and HDMI eARC is enabled. To my ears, the audio from the TV’s built-in Netflix app sounds more “powerful” compared to the Apple TV. So I’m wondering:Which format is technically better: Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1 or Dolby Digital 5.1? Is one higher quality than the other? Are there any settings I should tweak on the TV or Apple TV to get the best possible audio?

Can someone tell me how i can get the Sonus to always link to the TV as a source.I have two issues:when the TV goes into standby, and then is turned on again, the Beam does not seem to pick p the TV, and the sound goes through the TV speakers. I have to turn off the Sonos, and then turn it on again how do I toggle between streaming music and the TV. If I stream music, and then I want to switch back to TV, I can’t work out how to do thisI can’t see any setting in the app - I have a Sony Bravia  3 TV

Hi all, I’m having inconsistent volume control with my setup and would appreciate any advice. Equipment:TV: LG Nano866NA (2020 model)TV software: webOS 04.63.25Soundbar: Sonos Playbar (connected via optical)Remote: LG Magic Remote (also tested with brand new replacement) Issue:The LG on-screen volume graphic appears every time I press volume up/down, but the Playbar responds inconsistently from normal seating distance. If I stand close to the Playbar, volume works reliably. From the sofa, it misses presses intermittently. Everything worked perfectly for 5 years until around two weeks ago. Steps already taken: Replaced remote batteries Purchased and tested brand new LG remote Re-trained remote in Sonos app (removed and re-added) Set TV sound output to Optical only Full power cycle of TV and Playbar (unplugged 5+ minutes) Confirmed IR is being emitted via phone camera test Tested in different lighting conditions Checked no obstacles in front of playbar. Observations:TV always shows volum

I'm going to try to figure out the Sonos connections to surrounds. I'm starting with my main Rooms powered up and updated. I also have a Home Theater Room that has been powered down for a month or so which is what I'll be working with first. It has a Beam gen 1, Sub gen 2 and two One SLs.Initially the Room and speakers aren't visible in the Android app, main Room lists or the About page, they have been powered down long enough to be removed.Powering up just the surrounds, they are still not visible in any app lists, but if I do an update check I am told one is needed. I do not have the 2.4 gHz Sonosnet enabled here and the Beam is powered down so they must be connecting to my home Wi-Fi on my 5 gHz band in order for the app to see the update status. The AP access log confirms this connection and shows it became active soon after I powered the surrounds up. The log also shows they are communicating using the link.Running the update, both One SLs go through the update/reboot LED patterns

I saw that my surrounds and sub were showing as not connected in the app and were just showing up as “product”. These were all working fine until very recently. The arc is still showing up but nothing else is. There is also no sounds coming from the surrounds when I am watching TV. I tried to reset the system and even did a full factory reset on each component including the arc. I started by re-adding the Sonos 1 SL’s each to the app followed by the sub. That worked fine and they were showing up. After I added the arc everything was still showing up happy in the app. Once I connected the surrounds and the sub to the arc they went back to showing as “product” and not being connected with no sound coming out. How do I fix this? It’s infuriating.

I have changed nothing, have always been able to control volume on arc ultra through my nvidia shield remote and tv remote now after update i can only adjust it from the app when I use the other remotes I get the white light like usual on the soundbar but nothing changes, I hope this bug or issue gets solved quickly as it's annoying to go into the app everytime especially when youtube has a different volume than everything else and I have to adjust a lot

Hi guys. This isn’t a query regarding the arc ultra as such but I’m wondering if anyone is playing MKV files from Infuse Pro. I can get audio via airplay from my MacBook Pro to my Sony Bravia tv/arc ultra but it’s not Atmos. Video will not play at all. I’m obviously missing something (apart from the knowledge what to do) but it’s getting increasingly frustrating. Without getting too technical (as I won’t have a clue) has anyone had similar experiences and/or solutions. Many thanks.

I have a Sony Bravia 8. At first my tv remote was syncing with the Sonos Arc Ultra, but now it is not.

I bought a new tv, Samsung the Fram Pro 2025, and connected it to my Beam 2 using eARC. I also have a Connect:Amp in my system that connects my back speakers to the system plus a Sonos Mini sub. I can´t get Atmos whatever I play on the TV. In the Sonos app I only get Dolby Digital 5.1.  I use the HDMI-cable that came with the Beam 2 and it is connected to the eARC-port on the wireless one connect box.  I have tried Netflix with a Premium account, a Prime and a HBO account and no Atmos. Any ideas what I can do to get it to work?
