Apologies for staring a new thread but the exitsing threads are i) dated and ii) tended to go in other directions. I am in the process of moving to a new MacBook and noticed that when I installed the SONOS Desktop application I had to install Rosetta. Is there an Apple Silicon native version of the SONOS Desktop application? Thank you.
The app is not improving. I may retire my speakers. Anyone else? It's unfortunate.
Hello All, I am trying to connect my Sonos Ray to Samsung 55 inch DU6900 TV which does not have optical port. Is there a converter which will convert from optical to HDMI earc port? currently the Sonos ray and the TV are not communicating and the TV does not detect the sonos ray. thank you kuntal pathak.
All my Sonos products are now not connecting and giving the error code 1,000. Does anyone know what this means as I can’t find anything about it or how to fix it?
why doesn’t the thumbs up/down feature highlight anymore? at least mine doesn’t!
I have a Sonos play five: gen 2.I have moved house and tried to move this to a new wifi network, but when searching on the app connected to the wifi it never finds the device. The automated support bot has not been helpful to resolve this and I have tried ten- twenty times to connect. I’ve tried factory resetting and updating the firmware and a few other suggestions. But I’m feeling lost. Can someone provide support as to what my best steps are to connect the device?
It’s Saturday morning. It’s raining in the UK 🤣So I sit down to listen to some music. At least I would if the App actually worked and my Sonos system did not keep stuttering and stopping. When Van Morrison sung “Mama told me there’d be days like this” I did not expect it to mean that my historically reliable Sonos system would refuse to play music on a wet Saturday morning in the UK.And that is why I hate the new App.
After receiving contact from some boss at Sonos about fixing all the new app problems- I am not surprised to find that nothing has changed. Random connecting- so slow when choosing radio station- locking- freezing- not recognising products- volume not working - just about all the things that were wrong ARE STILL HERE! When you see posh houses advertised in The Times with the added bonus of Sonos networked sound you thing poor sods- it must take £5K off the house!!!!
I have just about had it with Sonos. In a world of smart people who do this for a living, how are they not able to fix the issues? My system is older (Playbar, Play 1) but that shouldn't matter as long as they are supporting them. Maybe someone here can help me. I start playing music using the Sonos app. I select my room(s) and off it goes. However, after a short time, if I go back into the app, it shows my queue is empty. I can't do anything with what is playing. Even worse, I couldn't answer a call because I had my music louder and I couldn't use the app to pause it. I know I can use the button on the decice but that isn't always the option if I'm in another room. The same thing happens using Spotify or Apple. I don't get it. Figure this out already. I've been a customer a long time but I am at my end point. Makes me not want to upgrade my stuff at all.
I am just about ready to give up on Sonos! I have configured a whole house system if you will with Sonos speakers in almost every room of the house including the downstairs but I never know if they are all going to work or just some of them and occasionally none of them. Not a complicated or fancy setup but ever since changing to the new app several months ago, the problems began. The latest issue is that the only service that will come on and stay on is the Sonos Music service. Amazon Prime, Apple Music, Pandora and Sirius XM all have the intermittent service problem and I want to have other services available consistently! I do call Sonos support and spend a couple of hours troubleshooting, get it working for a few days and then, back to problems! Maybe this is just a rant but surely Sonos can do better! I have been using it successfully since 2015 until the last few months with very little problem so I know Sonos can do it.
Ever since the Sonos updates mess with everything my Sonos Port just stops working. Everyday I have to unplug and plug it in to get it working. This device feeds my whole house distribution system so it been a pain.Has anyone heard if there is a date when Sonos is going to get its act together and fix this mess. Don’t understand why they just don’t pull the new mess down and put the old app back until they can get it right.very frustrating
I had to completely hard reset my sonos ecosystem install it again to find out.Airplay 2 is still not connectingWhen connected all devices stutter like there is no tomorrow. Please Sonos your helpdesk is 25 minutes waiting for service employee. And they all act like it’s a new problem it’s not.Update firmware find better connectivity in the soft and hardware and end this BSI’m completely busy whole day to achieve listening to stutter or connection failluers.Call Apple and work on a solution otherwise i will never buy your system again. It’s 2025 almost i mean come on. Horrible stuttering not connecting lagging system.
Hello All, Just a quick question here. I just set up my new ERA 300s as rears for my ARC and sub. I currently have Alexa enabled on my ARC. if I enable Alexa on my Eras as well will that negate the functionality on the ARC or will Alexas response be played through both the arc and the eras. thanks in advance for the help
Cannot get beam 2 to connect to 2 play ones for surround sound
Bonjour, Apple musique n’est pas disponible pour ma région, puis-je passer par un vpn ? Moderator edit:Google Translate-Hello, Apple music is not available for my region, can I use a VPN?
I have an Echo Show 8 in my kitchen, set to play music through two Sonos speakers in the same Alexa room/group ("Kitchen"). In the Sonos app, I have a Playbar and Move 2 grouped together as "Kitchen." When I ask Alexa to play music, it starts playing and shows both speakers grouped in the Sonos app and playing music, but audio only comes from the Playbar, not the Move?Note: Alexa is not enabled on the Move 2, as I rely on the Echo Show for features like displaying video from my Ring cameras, useful when the doorbell rings etc. The Playbar obviously doesn’t inherently support Alexa due to its age.Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
Hi, I'm recreating this thread, as the discussion wasn't finished, but it was locked. I also wanted to make it obvious this is a Sonos issue, not a client environment issue. https://en.community.sonos.com/components-and-architectural-228999/connect-amp-keeps-dropping-out-audio-6885634/index2.html I've been following this for a while because I've been having the same issues, and when I spoke to support they said the connect amp can't cope with modern software and that I should upgrade to the amp, which is clearly unacceptable. This has been confirmed by people in that original thread who have been told the same thing. BillJanzen“FWIW, these issues seem to have occured after the June 2023 software update to S2 version 15.5. Interestingly, there is an alert posted in the release notes of the 15.6 update released July 25, 2023 about adjusting how older Sonos products use their internal memory. See below (copied from https://support.sonos.com/en-ca/article/release-notes-for-sonos-s2): Aler
Problem: I have 2 x sonos play 3 and neither of them will factory reset. Having changed my router, I had to reset both, but they never went out of flashing amber light (no green!). Solution. Yes!, I finally connected the speakers, one by one, to the router using an ethernet cable. I made the reset procedure and wait...wait for at least 7 minutes, until green. Then, disconnected the ethernet cable and, after that, added to the system. In one case, an update was applied to the speaker.Great!: I have now both working again.
The latest “update” (or one of the many in the past three months my system has been idle out of utter frustration) doesn’t work. It recognizes Apple Music, allows me to scroll to and select the desired album, and when I select play, I get a spinning wheel of death. Then it wants me to connect to a Play 1….which I don’t and have never had. Where is that class action lawsuit?
All I want is to connect my pre-configured speakers to my new modem via WiFi without losing my existing SONOS setup. Unfortunately, whether I use the latest SONOS app or the older S1 version, my speakers are not discoverable on either my iPad or Samsung mobile device. After repeatedly trying the WiFi troubleshooting steps, the status lights were inconsistent—flashing white, which indicates it's either still booting or trying to connect to WiFi. I couldn't get the chime or the flashing orange status light during the connection process; instead, the setup would just stop and fail to find the speaker. The next step was to connect to my router via a LAN connection. Success, sort of. My system finally showed up in the SONOS app, and I waited an additional 5 minutes after the white status light became solid, just in case it was still updating the firmware. Unfortunately, when I placed the speaker back on the shelf and disconnected the LAN cable, the speaker was no longer discoverable, despite
Upgraded to the latest version. Figured it couldn’t get any worse. I was wrong. Anyone else having issues with Deezer?I can navigate Deezer see my playlists, favourites etc. that’s all goodi can also see recent music played and searched for prior to the update and play that no problemwhat I can’t do is search Deezer. When I try and search for music I get results from other services but Deezer has a red exclamation mark next to it. When I click on this I get the message “An error occurred with Deezer. Try again later”I know it’s not my credentials or anything like that as I can still browse and play things from Deezer as explained above. The issue only occurs when I try and search new musicI’ve reauthorized the account but that made no difference. So if I want to listen to music now I need to use the Deezer app. Favourite the song or add music to a playlist just so I can then find it on the Sonos app.
Hello, I would like to purchase a Sonos product and if someone can help me with a discount code, thank you very much.
Would adding a 2nd sub to the front of the room right under the TV make any sense? I already have a sub right behind the couch. The reason why it’s not in the back corners is because I wanted to keep the base down for my neighbors. It can’t be in the corners up front because there is no wall. It’s a weird room.
Hi,I’m building a home theater setup. I have a 9.2.4 setup in the room (arc ultra + 2 gen4 subs + 2 era300 ). I want to do some acoustic treatment to improve sound since the room walls are empty and have too much reverberation. I’m looking into getting some acoustic panels maybe also some diffusers. I’m trying to figure out how much can I treat without affecting sound channels directionality.I think I can put sound absorbing panels in the whole back wall behind the era 300 since sound doesn’t need to bounce back having back speakers. Also the front wall behind the Arc doesn’t need to reflect sound. Does anyone have experience or can share some advice?Cheers.
When I select my music and artists, it won't display them all. Only goes up to start of "S".Mike
