Hi,I’ve had several different speakers as rearspeakers for my Playbase (which is wired). It started out with Play:1’s, followed by Symfonisk bookshelf speakers. I havent had any issues with these. For the past couple of months I’ve used a set of Play:5 gen2’s as rears. Lately they have been crackling from time to time and sometimes cut out. The cutting out is very rare, but a bit of a crackle here and here is more common. I’ve sent a diagnostic within a minute from it occurring. It actually occurred when sending diagnosis as wel. The number is 254768390. Any idea what could be wrong?
Puerto Rico, to the surprise of some, is USA, yet Google is not available in Sonos. It is available in every other device that I have tried.Pls fix.
I’ve been using Sonos for 10+ years. However the product has gone downhill lately. Currently, I’m having problems with a specific Play 1. It constantly keeps having an issue and then causing music to stop in all the zones. When I try to restart the music or even remove the Kitchen from the group, the controller says “Unable to connect to Sonos product”Any idea what is causing this?No updates recentlyNo changes to system setupTried rebooting but it keeps happeningUsually comes back online after 5 minutes or so
This all used to work. Now it doesn’t. Or maybe my memory has gone. My playbar is connected to my tv and volume works fine when watching tv. But I could have sworn that I could say “Alexa, play my music on Sonos” and it would play my music. The Alexa Sonos skill is enabled. But when I ask Alexa to play my music on Sonos, it says “Shuffling your music on Amazon Music” but nothing comes out of the playbar. Nothing comes out of anywhere (no echo/dot devices play anything which is expected). I’m at a loss.
Hi,I have an LG OLED 65 "and Sonos Arc soundboard. These will be wall mounted. How high on the wall should the TV be placed? And how far below should the soundboard be placed? I will use Sonos’ wall mount for Arc.The TV sofa is placed 2.5 m2 from the wall. The room is approx. 20 m2.Thank you in advance for your help.Regards
I have a massive digital music library that used to reside in iTunes (on my Mac and on an external hard drive). When I upgraded my Mac OS to Big Sur, iTunes was eliminated and I lost all Sonos connectivity. All! Apple, Sonos and lots of crying didn’t help. So, as a relatively computer illiterate but passionate music lover with 2 TB of music, I buckled down for 3 weeks, taught myself and experimented. Here is what worked for me.Go through all of your songs and eliminate duplicates. Get a new external hard drive (one with an extra TB than you need), erase it, and convert filing system to Mac OS Extended (“case sensitive, journaled” worked for me). Move all of your previous songs to the new, clean, re-formatted external hard drive. Go to Sonos to manage your sources and add new external hard drive to connect...also, eliminate any previously utilized pathways that are no longer active. You can still access some music on your computer, but have to also add that as a source in your Sono
I have two Play 5 v2 in a stereo pair, a Sub that works with them and a Playbar that supports the TV audio. My overall listening space is about 12” x 18”. However the room is L-shaped with a hallway opening not he right side that is about 6” x 12”. Currently I have my Sub positioned in the “closed corner” on the left side of the room. Do you think this is the best position for the Sub or would you put it on the opposite, “opened” end of the floor near the 6” x 12” opening? Why would you make a particular choice?
Hi, I'm trying to play That Peter Crouch Podcast via Spotify to my speakers. In the S2 app I get an " access denied " message & in Spotify the speakers are greyed out & the cast on plays through my android phone. Any ideas, I've gone down phone & app ipdates & even checked explicit content settings. All other podcasts I have tried work through the speakers. Any ideas?
I keep getting dropouts in party mode. Rarely any errors reported in the app that I can see.The signals all seem strong enough but I have noticed that the Kitchen unit (the newest device!) does suffer some packet loss.Any ideas. I’ve tried using the home wifi which just gave buffering problems all the time so have stuck with sonosnet.Any ideas of other places to look for clues as to the problem? The system is on channel 11 and a wifi scan shows that nothing else is on this channel. Thanks for any ideas…….
I’ve just got a new (Ikea/Sonos) Symfonisk speaker. I’ve connected it up via wired Ethernet, as is the Mac Mini (M1/Big Sur).I can play music from Music.app fine, but if I stop, and the system is silent for a while, I have to reset the sound output on the Mac (by setting it to ‘Mac Mini Speakers’ or ‘Headphone Socket’ and then back to the AirPlay option for the Symfonisk). The same happens if I change to using a different sound-outputting application on the Mac (secondary issue - is there any way to reduce the audio lag on FaceTime and Zoom with this speaker via AirPlay?)The Mac seems to think that it’s still connected to the speaker when it does this. Is it the Mac or the speaker which is responsible for giving me the silent treatment?
I have an Ubuntu Linux machine onto which I've collected the music files I want available through Sonos. I don't need a Linux controller; I'm quite happy to use the Sonos app on my phone to control Sonos. I just want Sonos to be able to retrieve those music files from the Linux machine. I've set up a Samba (SMB) share called Music that publishes the directory under which the music is stored. I can browse that directory from other computers on my network. Multiple sources on the Internet say that the following must be present in my smb.conf file for Sonos to be able to access that share: ntlm auth = yes It is, and I've restarted the smb service. Yet Sonos still says it cannot access the share I've configured. What more must I do?
HiI have just added a Port to my Sonos set up.I am running the Pre out from my NAD C368 amp into Line In on the Port so I can have my vinyl and CD available to my other Sonos speakers I have around the house. It all works but the volume from my Sonos speakers is very low. I have put the Source level to Level 10. This helped a bit but I still need to turn the volume up to around 60% on my Sonos 1 speakers in order to get good level - its definitely not loud! One problem is that as soon as i switch source on my Sonos speakers to Radio or streaming the volume is deafening!! and I have to be quick off the mark to turn it down before waking the whole village.Any suggestions or is this just something I will just have to live with?ThanksDuncan
I installed a Boost into my system 2 months ago. All seemed to work well. Then my controller wouldn’t connect to my music library which is stored on a laptop. I tried a library update but this had the same outcome. I disconnected the boost and reconnected my speakers via my router and all worked fine. I then reconnected the Boost , all worked fine and then after 7-10 days same problem occurred. I reset everything as previously , all was fine and then 7-10 days later the problem reoccurred. This continues to happen . Does anyone have any ideas what the problem / solution might be. I have tried Factory resetting everything and reinstalling from scratch but the problem still happened. I have 5 Sonos Plays connected 4 as two stereo pairs and 1 stand alone.
Hi folks, I have a 3 and a 5 at my home. I control both using the app on my Mac and on my iphone. After a power cut, the 5 dissapears from my iphone and cannot be reconnected (or re-installed) by the iphone. I have to go to the MAc, play something on the 5 and it re-appears on my phone. This is a real pain, as are Sonos updates that always seem to leave something not quite working.CAn anyone make any suggestions other than re-installing all the time ? I have reinstalled Sonos more times than I have had a coffee (which I need every time)
Hi, I recently installed a system for a client. The system consists of a Unifi USG, US16SW, and 4 Unifi NanoHD APs. The sonos system consists of 1 Sonos ARC, 1 sonos move, 4 Sonos Ones. All sonos equipment is wireless. Customer and I were having issues with app acting glitchy. Sound quality is fine with no hiccups but at times it doesnt connect to the system or the app just attempts to open and then doesnt. It has been in use for a little over a week. Yesterday, I made adjustments on the Unifi system. Switch Setup: As many other threads discuss, Unifi switches default to RTSP which is incompatible with Sonos. You need to set the switches to STP. In the Unifi dashboard go to Devices --> Select the Switch --> Config --> Services --> Spanning Tree --> Set to STP. For the root switch (48 port switch in my case) set the Priority to 4096. For secondary switched plugged into the root switch (the POE switch in my case) set Spanning Tree to STP and Priority to 8192. Netw
Alexa responds when her name is spoken and after I ask her to play for instance BBC radio 6 music she says, Sorry I’m having trouble please try in a little while. What is the problem here. I’ve tried removing the voice assistant and re-adding as well as disabling/re-enabling the skill and linking my BBC account within the Alexa app but still get the same message. All devices are up to date. Same thing happens on both Play One and my Beam. Used to work flawlessly but stopped working some months ago. I thought it might be the wifi but the Beam is about 2 feet from the router. Any suggestions before I lose the will to live. Thanks in advance
I currently have a play bar and connect amp powering 2 third party in-ceiling speakers in my living room, and a play 1 connected to my router in the basement.I now have a tv in the basement that I would like to set up another play bar and connect amp powering Sonos sonance in-ceiling speakers and a subwoofer. Will anything be effected? From my understanding/experience, I need that play 1 connected to the router in order for my living room surrounds to work.
Recently, my Kitchen Sonos Play 3 has been breaking up whilst playing music. The other day, it was grouped with my Living Room Connect. They were both playing music working perfectly, and then the Kitchen speaker started to stutter and the audio cut off completely. About 30 seconds later it began playing again, in sync with the Living Room speaker. Just now, the Kitchen speaker started to break up again. I have submitted a diagnostic report 963986265. Please note the speaker has been operating perfectly normally in this location for years. Please advise on how to fix this. Thank you
da qualche giorno i miei speaker sonos one non riproducono moltissime radio da tunein. Da altri dispositivi riesco invece a sentirle----recentely my sonos one speakers not played a lot of tunein radios. From other devices same radios working
Hi,I have recently added a Beam to my setup but the sound is lagging the picture. It’s only a fraction but enough to notice the voices don’t match the lips. Looking online this appears to be a very common problem caused by the TV not being able to process the audio quickly enough to send to the soundbar. This seems a common problem regardless of the brand of TV. I have this problem whether I’m watching TV or a Blu-ray. I have experimented changing settings to PCM and this solves the issue but I have various ways I can achieve PCM. My equipment and settings are as follows, all connected over HDMI.Samsung TVAudio delay Setting - 100 (default value)Digital output - options are auto, pass-through or PCM----Virgin Media V6 Cable TV BoxOptions are Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital to PCM---Blu-ray PlayerDolby Audio - options are Bitstream or PCMDTS/DTS-HD - options are Bitstream or PCM My question is which combination of settings is best to use and what do I lose by going with these? The sound
When saying “Alexa, play Spotify” Alexa chimes and responds “here is Spotify” but nothing plays. Same result when requesting to play SiriusXM or any other service. However, Spotify plays when using the Sonos app on my phone but when saying “Alexa, pause” Alexa chimes but doesn’t pause the music. Alexa does however respond to requests like “Alexa, what’s the weather?” It seems while it’s recognizing the linked services it’s just not controlling them.
Hi there. We have been using Sonos for well over 10 years. We had an issue a while back, but it only occurred when we ethernet plug in additional Sonos Connect units (the older ones, not for S2). We currently have one Sonos Connect ethernet plugged in and it is fine; no issues. We have a total of 3 with the other 2 connected wirelessly. A while back I decided to try to plug in one of the other Connect units from one room and it immediately created a network storm. I just unplugged it and went back to wireless and all was fine. Fast forward to today and I tried the other Connect in a different room...same result...network storm. No issue with other devices plugged in (PC, laptops, printers, etc.). Why is this storm occurring with the other 2 Connect units and NOT with the one that was originally used to make the system years ago (it was the only unit at the time)? Again, the ONLY TIME the network storm occurs is when we try to plug in either of the other Connect units. Network connectio
I have a Playbase & a Google Home. The playbase is called “sonos” in the Google home setup. I can give commands to my phone or to the Google Home to control the volume on the Playbase so I know they are talking to each other. But, what else can I do with Google Assisant? Every guide I find talks about commands for a device like the Beam that has a microphone build it. I would like to be able to:start music playing on the playbase (one of the Sonos services), pause music that is playing on the playbase, change input on the playbase, perhaps other stuff.Has anyone with a playbase done ANYTHING other than control volume? Thanks in advance.
I have been trying for months and the podcasts for Mark Simone on Iheartradio will not play, they just say skip to next show and keep skiping saying Unable to Play “title of podcast” - the connection to iHeartRadio was lost. I have always played these podcasts for years without trouble and can play them directly from iheart (without sonos) and on all my other non-sonos devices. I will emphasis that I have no problems with any other iHeart content with Sonos podcasts or music or any other stations/sources. It doesnt matter what Controller I use (iPhone, Windows 10 PC, iPad) same results. Just with this one radio host the past few months, but it was fine in the past and I have made no changes to my home Sonos setup or home network. Same for years.I have generated a diagnostic #1215281064
