I always use Alexa to set the volume on my Sonos system (Beam, Sub and 2xOne SL) I usually ask her to confirm the volume once set, but now she is reporting it back incorrectly. So if the volume was set to 1 initially and I ask Alexa to set volume to 3 then ask “Alexa, what is the volume for living room?” She will advise that volume is 1, even though it’s set to 3 as she is now louder.Steps I’ve taken to fix:Disable and enable the Sonos skill in the Amazon Alexa App. Removed the Alexa voice service in the Sonos app and added it again too and powered off the Sonos beam. All to no avail However, what I did notice was Alexa would confirm the correct volume level after enabling the Sonos Skill in the Alexa App or removing and adding the Alexa voice service in the Sonos app, it kinda acts like a reboot but if you change the volume and ask her to confirm it happens again immediately.
Good evening to everyone,I have a customer with a Sonos system installed on a yacht, configured in Europe with a tablet with the Sonos app downloaded in Europe. The customer has lost the tablet. He bought a new tablet and downloaded the Sonos app on American soil.He has entered the correct credentials but the application does not allow you to make changes. This is possible? If the devices have been configured in Europe with an app downloaded in Europe and you add a tablet with an app downloaded in America, is it normal to have problems?Hope to be clearThank you

HelloI have now been trying to have my Sonos system to my network for a couple of days. Was working earlier last week.System is a 2xSL Sub and Play bar: This system cannot be added to any network that I have running in the house currently a 2.4Ghz and a Ghz. Error come up that they cannot connect to network nor the internal Sonos network. This system is purchased outside of my current living country not sure if this can have an impact or not.Sonos move. This one working without any issues and can be added without any problems. Any tips/help is very appreciated. Kinda hates to have a system just standing around collecting dust // Patrik
HI, I can see this is an old chestnut. But in 2021 it should NOT exist…. I am have enormous frustrations in deleting/editing the Sonos Library (Not playlist). I found I had a whole load of duplicates when I connected my WD My Cloud Home NAS. I have since edited the original library elsewhere…..deleted the folder pointed to on the NAS… but still Sonos “sees” the tracks and trys to play them. Disconnecting the NAS also deleting the WD service app and reconnecting and deleting the folder still fails to remove the Library. This is a real error within the sonos software in not being able to edit/delete library content. How can I tell Sonos to delete this library. I am sure when I reupload the Library to the NAS ot will see playable and unplayable tracks.. Making playing an album impossibleHelp
Hi alli recently bought a beam 2 and a move and the move is not visible in the app. I checked previous post (rebooting, restarting…) but still a problem.I have not found any solution (except returning the move), anybody can help?cheers
Hello,Could someone from Sonos please explain to me what this message means:The connection to Spotify was lostE.g. where in the network the connection couldn’t be made. This is usually what I experience:If I press the Play button on the speaker, Sonos plays the music from Spotify from the playlist/artist I was listening the day before (or a few hours before) If I got to the SONOS App, I can browse Spotify music. But when I try to add the music to the speaker, the message appears. Now, If I try to play a radio from TuneIn, on the same speaker, the music plays fine. So, where does the network connection issue resides?Note: sometimes, when using the Spotify App and choosing to stream on a SONOS speaker, I get around the issue. But not always.Note 2: This has been going on for YEARS. I spoke to Spotify support, Linksys support, SONOS support, none of them managed to find the root cause of the issue.
I understand Sonos was disabling the mics on surrounds when paired with an arc or a beam. I have the same problem as many other users - I am often much to the surrounds than the arc and would like to have their mic active so I don’t have to shout from the kitchen at the tv. I don’t care if it doesn’t relay tv commands. I want to play music and ask Alexa things from the kitchen which is close to the surround speakers. Please activate this an option.
Hi guys, Hoping someone can help. I have a Playbar hooked up to my Sony TV. If I put the TV on and set the volume to what I want when watching a movie - it’s great. However, if I then turn the TV off and ask Alexa (Echo) to play a song through the Playbar (using Spotify) - the volume is almost double as loud as the TV. So loud in fact that my GF did it the other day and it’s actually blown the bass speakers in the Playbar (a separate issue). When I look at the Sonos IOS app whilst doing the above, the volume slider remains at the same level for both TV and Music however what I hear is completely different. What makes this more confusing is that with my original set up, it was synced with my TV and Playbar (same TV and bar as i have bnow) - I had a bridge (connected to router in order for it all to work), when Sonos updated systems and the bridge was no longer needed - that’s what this issue started. Anyone got any ideas on what it could be and how to fix it without having to open
When starting playback on Spotify, speakers randomly cut in and out, it can take up to a minute to settle down. Once playing it will generally be fine for as long as you like, until you change something. Skipping a track on a playlist will produce the same issue, (while just playing the next track that's already lined up and buffered is fine) when pausing sometimes you can hear some of the speakers still going for a few seconds. Often tracks or changes to the queue will be ignored when the current track finishes. This does not seem to happen with Sonos radio or the local music library on our NAS (when I can get sonos to find it, but that's for another day) A day and a half on the phone and live chat support with both Sonos and Linksys has not fixed things alas.System is connected by a boost to the router, and after support suggested it yesterday, also one of the Play:1s. (like 3 feet away) Sonosnet is set to channel 11, the WiFi (2.4GHz) to channel 1. (although it seems to occupy up to
My router is telling me… “A device using an older Wi-Fi standard (802.11a,b,g,b/g) is slowing down other devices on the network. We recommend turning the Wi-Fi off on this device or turning the device off.” Device Name: Sonos-LivingRoomPlaybar”Any ideas on how to fix this OTHER than turning off the wifi. The playbar is not in a location that is easily hardwired. I have made sure that the firmware is up-to-date.The Playbar is less than 5 years old, so it shouldn’t be out of date technology wise already?!?
My Sonos Playbar, which is connected directly to my TV, along with the Sonos Sub, Sonos One, and a Sonos One SL. This is what I consider my Sonos Playbar system. In order to listen to my turntable, I have a Sonos Port that connects as a “Line-in” to the Sonos Playbar. THE CHALLENGE: When I moved into my new house, there were (5) pre-installed in-ceiling speakers. So I purchased a Denon AVR-X1600H. I have one Port connected to the receiver assuming that would be another way to access all of those speakers. The Denon receiver acts as a separate Sonos output speaker, but only plays out of two of the in-ceiling speakers. What am I doing wrong? The preferred setup would be to do the following:Use the Sonos Playbar system during normal TV activities Use the Sonos Playbar system for casual music listening Use the Sonos Playbar system for listening to my vinyl turntable Use ALL speakers, including the Sonos Playbar system, during parties When I purchased the Denon receiver and the ports,
I have several rooms in my house connected to my SONOS system. My TV room television is connected to a Playbar. I have added a TV in the kitchen and often would like to see and hear on the kitchen set the same content playing on the TV room set. If I add a Beam to the kitchen set would it be possible to synchronize streaming video and audio to both sets?
Hello, I’ve already posted a few months back about my Sonos Connect which was giving me problems (see thread here), but I got some interesting updates I wanted to share since then.Shortly after that thread I had to move to a new place, so I left the Connect in a box for a while, but I still wanted to give it a last chance. A few weeks later, I went ahead and opened it up to check the power supply output as a last ditch effort (was suspecting a PSU issue). Nothing wrong there, voltages were stable as it should. Now the funny thing is, after putting it back together, it suddenly started working like a charm! Not a single crash for weeks on end. Got me really puzzled as to what happened since the only thing I thought I did was to check the voltages, nothing else.Fast forward 6 months to a few days back, and it finally crashes again. Now here’s some observations I could gather better this time:The Connect was set up on a new wifi since the “fix” (new home, new router, new wifi). The last thi
My setup for daily use is Arc with LG C9 which works great. I would occasionally like to use my BenQ W2000 projector for movies and gaming. Movies would use Apple TV 4K as source and gaming would happen with PC or consoles such as Nintendo Switch or PS5. With these I would like the audio to go to Arc and video to the projector. Ideally I could keep these source systems permanently connected to LG C9 as well via splitter or switch so that I wouldn’t need unplug and plug devices when using the projector. Is there a switch or a splitter that would keep the audio quality as good as the original source (e.g. Atmos)? From video point of view the W2000 is capable only for 1920x1080 but in case I would upgrade that at some point it would be nice if the video would also be of original quality.Any advice would be appreciated!
I received an RMA email minutes after chat with the Sonos agent. The link to initiate the process failed to complete. A follow-up chat about the problem led to an escalation to the 'returns team'. I was told I would receive a reply within 24-48 hrs. Almost a week later and I'm still waiting... My problem is compounded by having to use the chat support (due to a speech impediment which makes phone support almost impossible).I sort of expected better practical support from Sonos.
Greetings, The above thread is closed, so I’m starting a new one, with the hopes of finding a solution. My Play 5 gen 1 lost all communication a while ago. There was a very nice videon on YT by Henzelmen, which made me fix the power supply. The unit came back to life, let me update firmware. But during the update, I noticed a background hiss. After the upgrade, I can play music, but it is tinny, lacking bass and continues to be noisy and quite low volume from what I do remember this Play:5 delivering in the past.I did ohm out all the resistors indicated in the picture of the above thread. They all seem ok, except R27833, which according to the marking (30d) should be a 200kOhm, but measures 4.99kOhm…When I do measure Source-Drain on the MosFET (Q27621), it shows a short circuit. I’m guessing this means the mosfet is busted…Now, I went on Amazon and on Newark Electronics, looking for APM4307, but it doesn’t show up. And I haven’t found an equivalent either. Can someone point me in the rig
Hello,When I use MacBook pro to screen mirror w/ Apple tv 4k, I only get picture but no sound. ( remember it does work for one time only)If I use iPhone to screen mirror, both video and audio working.Hope can get answer to solve the issue, thanks!
Hi alli have a Sonos roam in the bathroom set up to play music when the door closes ( elgato Eve door sensor ) it works very well. I also have it set up that when the door opens the music on the sonos roam stops playing. the problem that I have is that when the music is paused for Sonos all my speakers in the house stop playing ( homepod ) qnyelse experiencing this ? How can I fix this.
I’ve had a Sonos Playbase connected to my Samsung TV via a digital optical cable for a few years now but the flap on the optical port on the back of the TV has broken off and won’t hold the cable in anymore. For a while I have been able to keep it working by just taping the cable in place (crude but it worked!) but it is incredibly sensitive and the slightest knock to the cable breaks the connection. That was annoying but I was managing with it, but it’s now so sensitive I can barely get it to connect at all. Replacing the port in the TV would be about £250 and given this door flap seems to be a common weakness, I’m not keen to spend that much money. After a lot of searching online, I’ve bought a HDMI audio converter which in theory allows me to connect the optical cable from the Sonos to the converter and then connects from the converter to the HDMI ARC port on my TV. The TV recognises that it is connected and gives me an additional speaker option to select from the sound menu, how
In some movies and series, if the audio from the soundbar contain any "Google" like words it triggers the Google Assistant. When it's triggered, it lowers the audio and you can imagine how annoying that is when you watch anything. This never happend on my Sonos Beam, but on Arc it happes all the time. At least once per movie/episode. Has anyone experianced this as well, or have I done something wrong while configuring my setup? My system: Arc, Sub Gen3 and two Ikea Bookshelf speakers.
Hi, I have a SONOS system I bought a couple years ago and over the past few months they have routinely disconnected themselves and require reset to get working. Now they are not even being found, despite being reset.Do I just have a bad system? What can be done to fix it?
Yes
Hi Sonos,I have 2 Fives, a move, and an ARC with Sub.For now I'm just referring to the Fives and the Move.I understand you don't think an EQ is necessary (otherwise you'd include one). But the mids in the Five and Move are harsh, muddy and have an overall "fakeness" to their sound, this makes listening to these speakers uncomfortable. My ears become quickly fatigued. Now you may think you have done some kind of software magic to get the best/perfect sound, but you've ended up with artificial and muddy sound. My cheap Sony amp paired with warfdales has better depth an clarity, and sound far more natural.Actually even my cheap Logitech pc speakers with mini sub are out performing your speakers when it comes to clarity. My hope is that the issue is speaker configuration ( the speakers you choose to use in the units) or DSP and not an issue with digital amps, and that an eq that allows for fine tuning of the mids can save us here…The alternative is that I give up on your brand. At this stage I'
Can I use my Sonos one speakers for Bluetooth?
