For my TV sound I use a Playbar, a sub and two Sonos play one as surround speakers. However, I cannot add an additional Sonos play one to the group without interference and interruptions on the added speakers. The question is, what can I change in my set up to effortlessly add extra speakers (4) (without interference)!?
Hi. I've seen some people describing loud sound pop and Audio loss when playing Dolby Atmos from Apple TV 4K and Sonos Arc. I don't experience loud pop, but I do experience Audio loss for approx. 1 second at random places when watching content with Dolby Atmos. My setup in short is: Apple TV 4K -> [Belkin High-Speed 4K/8K cable] -> Samsung QE75 [eArc] <- [Sonos cable] Sonos Arc (WiFi: One + One SL + Sub )I've been in contact with Sonos support Norway, and we've done some troubleshooting, but we haven't found a solution yet.My observations so far:Sound drops out for 1 second when playing content with Dolby Atmos from tv, HBO Max or Netflix from Apple TV 4K. Sound does NOT drop out when playing content with Dolby Atmos from tv, HBO Max or Netflix directly from Samsung TV. Once Dolby Atmos sound completely disappeared when I was watching a movie with Dolby Atmos. Every content I played from Apple TV with Dolby Atmos consistently had no sound. Tried tv, HBO Max, Netflix and demo
I’m not sure if this is intended behaviour or not, but it is really annoying. Whenever I want to share what im currently listening to, I must stop playing on my Sonos speakers and play on my phone momentarily for all my recent scrobbles, including what im currently playing, to be pushed to last.fm. It used to update live, but doesn’t anymore. I’ve done all of the usual stuff - i.e. unlinking and relinking last.fm and Sonos, Spotify, etc etc
I shelled out for Sonos equipment and was exasperated to find that i can't get a drop of TV dialogue out of my two Era 100 speakers, after configuring them in a surround system with my Beam soundbar. Instead, they are just expensive paper weights if, say, I'm watching TV news or another talky broadcast (shows which barely have any surround sounds to emit). In other words, I can choose to set my new Sonos speakers up merely as extra speakers (good for news and talk shows) or as surround speakers (good for movies). But not both, nor with any way to toggle among sound profiles, nor adjust the sound to let dialogue through in surround. Whether by money-grubbing design (to get us to buy more speakers) or engineering incompetence, I simply can't use my expensive Sonos speakers for both surround sound AND dialogue. Do others have the same experience?
Hello, I’ve never used the S1 app, but I’m looking into buying a ZP90. Can I stream Apple and Amazon music on S1? Just looking at getting an audio signal into my old hifi system. It has an optical input, but not coaxial, so I don’t want to get a Port. Thanks
Is anybody else bothered by the fact after paying a pretty expensive price for these speakers you then have to pay again to some subscription music service just to listen to music? Seems like for how much each one of these speakers cost (play 5) there should be some way to to actually use the speakers without having to pay for monthly fee.
Good morning,When I listen to albums from my music library I click to launch them and then the application shuts down and restarts, this is each time I launch the application for the first time of the day on the Windows desktop. Then I noticed there on the Android phone application, that if I select a Radio from Sono Radio which is systematically a favorite on each first launch it will launch me the last radio that I listened to while I click of course on a different radio.Thank you in advance for your assistanceActarus Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct - mention of Beta program
The solution is to use an app like HiFiCast. Cast to 1 speaker and then use Sonos app to add other speakers.HiFiCast also supports .m3u playlists which iBroadcast sadly doesn't. Also plays at full bitrate which is nice.
Hello Sonos Forum,I will no longer be using Samsung TV due to Audio Tech Issues, as in not being able to use my sonos system. I will be purchasing a Sony or LG television, they ate both 50 inches, both say ARC, my sonos beam 2 is an EARC model, will I have any sound issues ? SONY IS DOLBY DIGITAL ARCLG IS ARC ONLY
Over the past couple or months or so, I have been experiencing a response along the lines “Sorry, something went wrong” from an ERA-100 device in bedroom, with the first command. The second command works fine. I have a ticket open with Sonos Support, unfortunately, they are just asking me to restart devices, re-install skill, move devices, change WiFi channels etc, and not looking at the diagnostics I have been sending them.I have found out today, that others may be experiencing similar issues, here is an example:https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/18bgxhx/long_time_user_with_a_new_problem_alexa/I also see this thread, that maybe related:https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/170fit6/fyi_alexa_still_doesnt_work_properly_on_era_100/Which suggests Sonos are aware of the issue?
HiI need a new TV soundbar and want to invest in Sonos ecosystem. Should i buy Sonos Beam (2nd Gen) in March 2024 or hold out for a potential ‘Beam 3rd Gen’ later in the year… 2025(?!) ?Thoughts?
Bought a Sonos Arc, Sounded great but started cutting in and out shortly after setting up. It would make loud popping noises then it started blaring an alarm sound similar to fire alarm at full volume. Contacted support, they ran a diagnostic, escalated to the engineering department, and was told I’d receive an email. No email. So I sent one. No response. Called again three weeks later, put on hold several times to be told the owner of my claim couldn’t be reached, and I’d have to call again. So I have $900 useless bar, under warranty, and can’t get help from customer support. Who do I talk to that can give me answers?
I have an Arc, Two Era 300’s, and a sub mini in a small to medium sized room. The Arc is underneath the wall-mounted TV around 10 feet in front of the seating position, with the sub mini below it to the side. The question I have is about the 300’s: Due to the fact I have a corner shaped sofa, I’m only able to put one of the 300’s to the left of me (slightly behind but sufficiently away from the wall with the requisite 8 inch side clearance) but the right hand one isn’t able to go symmetrical to the left, so it’s forward, positioned around halfway from the sofa to the TV. Will this suffice still, in getting good enough surround sound for HT and also when paired for music? Thanks in advance for your input.
I’ve got one Sonos 5 speaker in my living room, and now that I’ve changed router and broadband provided I can’t connect. I’ve got a Linksys XPNMX56 (Velop) router, and I’ve tried connecting multiple times with no success - can anyone help? I’ve read the other articles connected to this set-up but can’t seem to find an answer why
I have a playlist on Spotify that will not play on any of my Sonos speakers. Any suggestions?
I have a Play:5 and a Sonos:One, both in the same room, used to work just fine. Now, I cannot connect Sonos:1 (“not registered”)
I’m wondering if someone could help with this and apologies if I’m missing something obvious. I’ve added two era 300 to my system and want to use them as surrounds. When I added the 300s they each set up in their own new rooms.I have an existing room called TV with a beam and sub. When I click on that room and select add surrounds, I get a message saying I need two identical speakers to use and this is what I don’t understand. I have two identical 300s but they were automatically placed in their own rooms when I added them, so is that why my tv surround room can’t access them? What do I need to do to be able to add them as surrounds?Thank you. Alastair
I have had Sonos items for years. They have always been a problem and I regret buying them. I have 7 speakers and the latest issue is one was moved and it cannot be reconnected. Everything goes ok until I am asked to press the buttons. It then says it cannot be connected but no reason is given.i can see loads of other people have the same problem, No wonder you have such a bad reputation.
All of a sudden Sirius XM won’t play on Mac Desktop. Deleted app, rebooted, etc. Mobile app is fine. Just mac desktop version 16.1
I am seriously thinking of selling my Sonos speakers, much as I love them, and finding another system, because the app is so bad. I have problems connecting nearly every day, and it’s so random. It’s not my wifi, and it’s not Spotify as far as I can tell. It must be the Sonos app.
I have 2 Era 100 paired as stereo. When I play a single song on my Alexa app on my Sonos, it keeps on playing after the single song, how can I stop it from doing that. I already set my Alexa setting’s “AutoPlay” and “Amazon Music’s” autoplay to both disabled and still doing it on Sonos. Very frustrating.
I want to hear from other Sonos Roam users on how long it takes for your Sonos Roam to connect to your phones bluetooth. I had been using my little $50 Sony SRS-XB12 for years and it was fantastic. Then I got my Sonos Roam from work as part of my christmas gift and I was super excited considering it costs more than 3 times as much as my Sony guy. And the sound quality didn’t disappoint, but the connectivity was a HUGE let down. My Sony is 7 years old now and it still automatically connects INSTANTLY to my phones bluetooth. Like even after sitting unused for several months, I picked it up today and within 2 seconds of powering on, I heard the tone that means its connected. Conversely, when I turn on my Sonos Roam, I wait and wait and wait and it usually doesn’t auto connect at all, and generally takes at least 2 attempts at manually connecting in my phones bluetooth settings before I can actually use it. Considering this is meant to be a portable bluetooth speaker, this is a massive ann
Hi everyone👋 Just need an opinion…i’m thinking bout buy another Sonos Arc. It’s for my bedroom. But rumors are telling that Sonos might be realease a new soundbar in near future,so what is the best thing to do here. Buy a Arc now or be patient? Anyone care to share any timeline for Sonos new products-release? Have a nice Easter-holidays🫶
When my SLs are in separate groups they work alright but they’re not collectively working together, so I can pick and choose which speaker I’m listening to which is annoying. I want them to be all in the same group so I can true tune them but when I try my SLs get super muted and staticy. I don’t know what’s up
