Hello Sonos Forum,

I will no longer be using Samsung TV due to

Audio Tech Issues, as in not being able to use my sonos system.

I will be purchasing a Sony or LG television, they ate both 50 inches, both say ARC, my sonos beam 2 is an EARC model, will I have any sound issues ?

SONY IS DOLBY DIGITAL ARC

LG IS ARC ONLY

What TV model numbers are you considering here? It’s perhaps not just about the HDMI-ARC/eARC port. You may need to consider the audio codecs supported by the TV to provide you with the best quality audio. It’s also helpful to know if the TV supports audio "pass-through" and whether you need it to support uncompressed codecs like Dolby Digital TrueHD, or LPCM Multichannel - Dolby MAT.

A link to each TV online user-manual might be helpful too.

I want the SONY XR A90K BRAVIA OLED 48inch :)

  • eARC: DTS:X Over DTS-HD MA  Yes (but not supported by Sonos)

  • eARC: LPCM Channels (Bitstream)  7.1 Yes
