trying to add existing speakers as surrounds

I’m wondering if someone could help with this and apologies if I’m missing something obvious.
I’ve added two era 300 to my system and want to use them as surrounds.
When I added the 300s they each set up in their own new rooms.
I have an existing room called TV with a beam and sub. When I click on that room and select add surrounds, I get a message saying I need two identical speakers to use and this is what I don’t understand. I have two identical 300s but they were automatically placed in their own rooms when I added them, so is that why my tv surround room can’t access them? What do I need to do to be able to add them as surrounds?

Thank you.

Is your Beam a Gen 2 or Gen 1?  Era 300s can only be used as surrounds with an Atmos capable soundbar, which are the Arc and the Bean Gen 2.  Beam Gen 1 does not have Atmos
