I have been down rabbit holes and understand the limitations around my Beam (gen 2), 2 x Era 300, and Sub-mini. Being a 40 year old man, I obviously am getting into records and deciding which record player to get. Now since my Era 300’s are set up as surround sound I know I cannot use the line-in or BT, also the position of the era 300s doesn’t lend itself to where i would want my record player or run a line, so, my questions:if I get an additional Era 100 and a bluetooth enabled record player, can I have them in different, but close locations, and can it daisy-chain to all other devices when listening to records (by setting they as a separate room) if I get the the Victrola Onyx Stream, is this a work around to use my existing set-up since it is wireless (over WifI)?Thanks all!
I’m so disappointed.I had my somos connect amp, and sonos play1, and just bought the sonos move 2 hoping to listen all of them at the same time but I can’t.so … be aware…. Because if you buy a sonos move 2 for example, then in 2 or 3 years sonos release a new update and you won’t be able to use your sonos move 2 with the new update and you will have to buy a new product? What a shame…I just want to use my “old” sonos devices with my new sonos move 2 simultaneously….I hope I can returned it right away….
Hello, I have a client who is already in the Sonos system. He has a pool house with a TV and wants to add a soundbar. He would also like to play the TV to 2 speakers mounted on the pool house and possibly to the speakers around the pool. Not all the time but likes the option. I was going to suggest a Sonos soundbar for the TV. Then a Sonos amp for the 2 speakers on the pool house and a Sonos port to connect to the amp for the speakers/sub around the pool. Will this work? Can the TV audio going to the soundbar connect to the Sonos Amp and the Sonos Port through to the mesh network? Can you group and ungroup the speakers through the app?I would probably leave the pool house speakers and the pool speakers permanently grouped or bonded and add or subtract the TV soundbar when needed if possible. Let me know if this is possible and if I’m going in the right direction. Thanks
I just bought a Sonos Ray to compliment a newly purchased Denon AVR-S970H, five in ceiling speakers and a sub woofer. I cannot figure out how to incorporate the newly bought Ray into my existing surround sound set-up. I tried connecting the optical cord to the AVR, but both optical ports on the AVR are input, not output.I am not an audiophile, so I need some help. Both Sonos and Denon CSR’s were not helpful. Can I connect the Ray to the AVR via HEOS or Wi-Fi?Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you!
This may not be directly related to the Sonos product but I am hoping one of the Sonos community has had the same issue and been able to resolve it.I have Oticon Minirite 1 hearing aids that use a streaming device to connect to the optical output on a TV to stream the audio from the TV to the hearing aids via bluetooth.I have an LG G3 TV and a Sonos Beam Gen 2 soundbar. If I connect the Beam Gen 2 via the eArc connection the TV locks out all other audio outputs (bluetooth and Optical). The result is I can’t have my hearing aid streamer and the soundbar connected at the same time.I have contacted LG and everything they recommended I try didn’t work. In the end they advised that this is how eArc works as it is the best audio output so all other outputs are disabled.I have an older LG that has Arc and if it is connected to a soundbar all other outputs still operate.Has anyone had the same experience and found a resolution?ThanksRegardsRalph
Hi,Any recommandations between the Sub & Sub mini to add to Beam and 2 era 100 ?Also where to place ? In front, side, back ?Thanks for the help
I recently added a Port to my two channel system. One of the best things about Spotify (and Amazon Unlimited) is the autoplay feature, which uses a sophisticated algorithm to continue playing recommended music after your selection ends. It is not just a matter of convenience (although it does allow you to continue doing whatever you might be doing without having to stop to make a new selection, or be without music at your dinner party, for just one example, until you have a minute to do that), but it is a great way to discover new music. I’ve seen several threads (all now closed) on this issue, but no fix. To be clear, this is a Sonos issue, not a Spotify/Amazon issue. It is beyond imagination to me that a sophisticated piece of audio equipment, designed specifically for streaming apps, would somehow omit support for a critical feature of those self-same streaming apps. If I wanted to only hear what I expressly select, I might as well go back to LPs and CDs, or give up the Sonos and go
I’ve got JRiver Media and have been able to downsample my 24bit librry items to 16 bit but I haven’t found a way to downsample the same files from 96K to 48K any Ideas? Yes, I know Sonos will support 24 Bit and I will leave them 24 Bit if I can find a way to change the sample rate.Appreciate any suggestions.thanks
Just wanting an update on this topic. I see requests for this are going on a year old and all topics relating to it are being closed for comments. Is this a feature that is being worked on? I recently bought 2 ERA 300’s and now debating returning them after finding this out. Like others have said I paid for 6 drivers and want to be able to use 6 drivers. Is there any updates on this concern that many customers seem to share?
I bought into Sonos, and am starting to regret it. It is slow on my phone, cuts out, and is always updating but not better. So, …. Sonos where are you going? Is this going to be worth the pain in the end? I can get speakers anywhere. Can you tell me why I should keep your stuff? You keep offering free shipping. Shipping really isn’t relevant - that tells me you’ve lost your way. I’ve spent over $1,000. Keep the shipping, make the app work. This isn’t a pair of socks.
Hello, I have read that there is going to be a new iOS software update and I’m curious to know if the update will continue to allow different aged speakers work on the same platform or will we have a scenario like the original Sonos app and now Sonos two, depending on the age of the product will depend what application it will need to run on. I have many many Sonos speakers throughout my three level home and I already have to run 2 apps for all of my speakers and I do not intend to add one more dollar until I am sure I won’t run into this scenario again. Thanks for any update as I did plan to add a few smaller speakers with microphone but if more are to marked obsolete then I am done with sonos. Thanks
Hiya! This is gonna be one heck of a first post for this forum. I’ve had a Sonos Roam for a while now, and I love the thing. Really, I do, or at least I did… then I started worrying. I had to RMA my first unit the year I got it, because the battery health had worn down so far during its usage cycle that it refused to start up anymore. For reference, this is what I experienced: The Roam refused to respond to the power/bluetooth sync button, media buttons, or microphone button. The Roam’s lights would not turn on, and the speaker would not connect to the local network. The speaker would let the power light fade on, sit a moment, then abruptly shut off entirely when at rest on its wireless charging pad. The speaker would not respond to the support rep’s “plug it in and leave it overnight” troubleshooting step. Later on in the day, I found that often times, the Roam and other battery-powered Sonos products relied on their batteries for things like keeping the internal clock running. When m
Hi,Apologies if this has been asked before. I am a sonos owner for over 10 years and fairly familiar with the software issues however I have just made some changes to my network (same router) but I cannot get my products to connect. Network is 2.4ghz...WPA2. Every time i go through the wizard I get the mobile device cannot connect to beam, although I am stood right next to it. Any suggestions….driving me crazy. I am unable to reset anything as this is greyed out on the app. Thanks
Hi everyone, so I still have an issue with my LG C2 in combination with my Sonos arc. The arc occasionally stops playing sound. Before it only happened after switching from HDMI source (with Dolby enabled ps5 or Xbox) back to an internal app like YouTube. Problem is solved by changing the sound source on the tv (hdmi to tv speaker to hdmi). But now I’m surprised that even when I watch a tv show on the internal app of the tv itself, it still happens occasionally. When I’m watching a tv show in stereo or 5.1, when the next episode is loaded after the one I was watching was finished , there is no sound. The same trick as before solves the issue. The HDMI inputs have never been turned on in this case. All my setting are correct. I use passthrough and eArc. I have read every topic here and Reddit but couldn’t find a solution. Sonos sends me to LG and LG tells me silly thing like turning of auto power sync etc. Doesn’t solve the issue. Anyone else having this problem? If not, I’m starting to
How do I make a feature request? I love how great my surround setup sounds with Dolby Atmos, but it’s really disappointing not to have DTS decoding for discs with Master Audio, DTS:X, and DTS:HD. I assume this is just a licensing cost decision but for the premium we pay for Sonos, I’d expect it to be supported (and did when I purchased). Thanks
I am installing the 8.2 landscape series Sonance system. I am trying to figure out how to zone out the gazebo area with 2 6/12 70W satellite and one 300W subwoofer. I’d like to be able to quite the main zone and use zone 2 for the gazebo area louder than the other zone. While the 2-channel amp provided can handle the entire system, is there a way to separate zones with this? Or do I need another amp for the other zone. Lastly, would a Sonos amp be able to handle the power of the 2 70W sat and 300W sub? Thanks for the advice!
My tv is older but has hdmi1 arc connection. I’m only getting stereo pcm from any source I watch. Hulu firetv apple. Just tried optical hdmi connector. Still same. I was sure it was a tv setting issue but idk. Help!!
Picked up the Sonance 6.1MAG w/ Sonos amp and looking for assistance on speaker layout around our back patio.I tried to prioritize speaker locations based on primary sitting positions - pergola, sun ledge, fire pit & pool denoted by the orange dots. This leaves out the area to the right I circled in pink and the back fence line. Thoughts on current position or changes you would make?
Hello,.I have a larger shed area that I have mounted 4x ERA100s, 1 in each corner. Is there a way to set these up so they are always grouped together. Currently I can only set up 2 and then i have to add/group the other 2 every time I turn the system on. Thank you.
Hi. I use You Tube Music on Sonos and like scrolling through the 25 or 30 new albums on “New Releases” but for some reason about a week when I go to “New Releases” on Sonos it only shows one or two new albums. Does anyone know if this is a Sonos problem or a You Tube Music problem? And more importantly how it can be fixed? I tried re-installing You Tube Music on Sonos but nothing changed. Thanks!
I have 5 return labels for items I am sending for recycling. One label shows a weight of 0.9lb, so I know that is for the Bridge. However 2 of them are for items that are 8.33lbs and 2 are for items with 3.1lbs on them. The Play 3 weighs just under 6lbs. I just want to make sure I have the correct shipping labels on the correct items.
When opening FE: soundcloud likes in the sonos app it does not show the full title of a song/liveset.See 500 - the boom room and 503 - the boom room. Would it not be possible to show the title scrolling horizontally un the app?
I have totally dove into the Sonos World and so far I love it. Im an older guy who still loves his collection of Vinyl, CDs and Yes, even Cassettes. Can I connect these items seamlessly ?? I do have the Port, Era, 300 and Sub. What else do I need?? Can I buy a separate AVR/Amplifier and connect them to the port, (and then I can even use the AM/FM radio stations)?? Or do I buy a switching device and then select which device I want to play?? This wireless stuff is kinda confusing … I have even been thinking of paying someone to hook it all up correctly. I can buy the stuff myself and let them do the hard stuff… Thanks for ANY advice !!!
Feature RequestHello! I’d like to make a request to see a music service added to the list that Sonos offers. I’ve searched and it doesn’t seem to be there. It’s called Aimi.fm and they have a dedicated iOS and Android app as well.I use this streaming service all the time, but I have to play it via their native app because it’s not available on Sonos, which causes some streaming problems since the speakers aren’t being recognized as a “group” like they are when you play something through the Sonos app, and eventually they fall out of sync with each other. It would be awesome if this service was added to the list. Thank you!
So for some reason my last post was closed without a resolution:So I am following up here: Ok so here’s a delayed brief update on my deleted post above…I replaced my home router and extender with a new ASUS mesh router and then spent 4 hours getting all my Sonos devices onto the new network (despite I having the same name and password as the previous one, all my other devices in my house joined seamlessly). Like before the main soundbar was connected via Ethernet the system continued to cut out intermittently and a few days later unfortunately the new mesh extender I had just purchased died and I had to return to the manufacturer and get a replacement. When the replacement mesh router arrived I set them up again and spent another 4 hours trying to get my Sonos to connect to the network (with the new router). The system seemed to be behaving well and the sound did not drop out but this time the sub woofer in my living room was not playing any audio despite saying it was successfully con
