Dear Sonos Community and Leadership, I’ve been a passionate supporter of Sonos for years, eagerly recommending your products to friends and family, and planning to invest further in your ecosystem. But today, I’m writing this open letter to express my deep disappointment with the current state of the Sonos app. Since the latest update, the app has been plagued with issues: frequent disconnections, poor ergonomics, Wi-Fi connection failures, and more. The problems are so pervasive that it’s impossible to ignore, and judging by the overwhelmingly negative reviews on both the Apple Store and Google Play, I’m clearly not alone in my frustration. Sonos was once a brand that I admired for its innovation and quality. It was the go-to recommendation for anyone looking for top-notch audio solutions. But now, with these unresolved issues, it feels like that once-innovative brand is slipping into obsolescence. This is particularly troubling given the premium price of your products, where customer

With the new 80.06.04 update (8-06-24) Downgrade Product to S1 is functional again. I just did it! Had an S1 Connect:Amp fail (fast white flash LED) and it's the rear channels of an S1 Playbar and Sub. Had an S2 Connect:Amp at work, but during this software fiasco, couldn't downgrade it until today... System Settings --> (scroll to bottom) Help Center --> Downgrade Product to S1

We’ve run Soundtrack on our Sonos system here at the brewery succesfully here for a number of years and now we are unable to access our Soundtrack account. Waited on hold 15 minutes and once I finally got connected to a human being I got cut-off and disconnected after giving him my diagnostics file number. On hold again now, not a happy guy. Anybody got any advice to offer?
Riddle me this. I Spent a solid hour yesterday on the phone with Sonos tech support after waiting for 1 hour, nice guy going through the pairing process on gen 3 sub. Im running 2x era 300 and arc on 5.1 surround. Have not been able to pair sub and have it stick, the sub is dropped almost instantly. Once this happens, the app does not drop the sub, I manually remove the sub, close app, factory reset and try again… over and over and over. Come to find out from tech, there is a “known spectrum issue with firmware updates on routers.” I was given 3 approved firmware updates in order to run wifi. 1.5.6, 4.4.4, 1.3.6. I call Spectrum today, have them monitor the system while pairing and setting up, they can't update my router because it is updated running 1.5.5.6, mind you Im pushing 600mbs down on speed at 2.4ghz. The sub runs at 5ghz and is not switchable to 2.4 from spectrums end like most products, so naturally when attaching to arc, it dumps the sub. Does anyone know if we can
Does Sonos work with any form of law enforcement in interfering with system? There are comments being made about them working with agencies to shut down or disrupt systems. Whats going on with this?
Hi I am having issues with my sub gen 3 that was working and now it won't even connect via ethernet cable. To be honest I have had so many issues with sonos that I'm seriously considering a different system but my house has a speaker in every room. I tried to speak tp somos help line and that turned out to be as helpful as petrol putting out a fire. Can anyone help? Thanks
I have owned multiple Sonos products for the past few years in different rooms solely for music - speakers + subs. Always loved the great sound and convenience of the music I want wherever in the house I am. Particularly liked kicking back with the wife and having chilled Saturday night listening to favourite tunes. However the new app has ruined everything. Try to listen and it plays in random rooms not the one I’m in despite careful selection of where I am. When a song does play I have no volume control, can’t stop, pause or play new songs. It’s uncontrollable which is contrary to everything this system should deliver. I’ve spent £000’s on this and not only is it now rubbish and not fit for purpose has negatively impacted my quality of life. Weekend nights with music are now frustrating fights with a system I genuinely can’t control. I want my money back. A letter from the CEO might be touchy feely but I want this sorted now. I paid for something I expected to work.
Seems the recent update on my iPhone Sonos App killed the link for the music library viewing. As if you go to the link for my music folders that are currently linked, but when you click the link for music library, it goes to a new page with a new search function for several different music sources and music library. Not the actual library folders. Is this a recent new update. As you can’t actually view the individual folders. I can view them on my iPad, they show correctly and play as intended. Also, searching for music gives limited results.
This is a basic ask. The owner of an account, signed into their Sonos system, should be able to lock the system down with a pin code, such that no changes can be made to important set up parameters.Currently, anyone with a Sonos app on the Wi-Fi system, can change device names, eg, like room names, and mess with a system. This should not be allowed. This would be a piece of cake for SONOS to implement, and it makes a lot of sense to do so.
As captioned, for the last two days, my Beam, Sub mini, and Era 300’s work, but there is no App control and it doesn't “locate” the products. WiFi has been rebooted, all speakers unplugged, I've been attempting the App with no success. Anyone else? Tips? Thanks in advance.
You may remember the extremely informative article “What happened to the Sonos app? A technical analysis” published by Andy Pennel on LinkedIn …https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/what-happened-sonos-app-technical-analysis-andy-pennell-wigwc Breaking News! Yesterday Andy published a new article “The New Sonos App, Three Months Later” and it is equally fascinating …https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/new-sonos-app-three-months-later-andy-pennell-vozocThe new Sonos mobile app is three months old, and one would hope things have gotten better. My original article has been unexpectedly popular, so I thought I'd produce an update on what I think about where it is now. TLDR; N steps forward, N+x steps back. I encourage anyone with technical curiosity to read the new article, which touches on several problems that continue to vex users on these forums.
Let's talk about how much Sonos sucks
Any word on when the return of being able to search my own music library will be here? Pretty absurd to not be able to search a local library, or add an album at a time to the “now playing” queue.
I can’t count the number of posts that complain that after changing a Router and/or ISP…Sonos doesn’t connect.First lets ‘s address the elephant in the room…It’s Not The App and most likely It’s Not Your Network (per se). I say that because we’re not addressing Feature’s that may be missing since the App refresh. It’s a connection issueNo matter if you setup your own router and use the ISP’s modem; or you use the ISP’s router and modem there’s one basic rule that makes for a painless process…Keep the same SSID and Password Assuming you have a stable (or even not so stable) Sonos system here are the steps you should take before replacing your router and/or changing your ISP:Update your device Check for Sonos updates (if possible) Unplug all SonosNow you’re ready to install your new router yourself or enlist the aide of your ISP using the same SSID and Password *. If the ISP tells you it can’t be done then my suggestion is to go with another ISP.IMPORTANT: If you have a Mesh Network mak
My app and system are acting horribly since that last disastrous upgrade. I just need to vent. When will this get corrected?
Delighted to get my system back working after the latest update(s), however …It’s eating my iPhone battery. 87% over 13hrs background activity today and I’ve not even played any music. This is not right, surely.
I can be watching tv and all of a sudden the sound goes on the tv . I was advised to delete the Sonos app on my phone . Reset my phone and download the app again . This didn’t fix the issue . Can anyone help
Please include a shortcut for Alarms on the App’s home screen!
How does the app keep getting worse and worse over time. It's too bad, I've had some of my Sonos speakers for around 10 years now. Even on a brand new phone the current app is not user friendly, missing functionality that it used to have. And removed the playlists I had. So disappointing given how great the whole experience used to be. The new update is much worse, missing basic functionality now, So irritated.
I have a bluetooth turntable (Sony PS-LX310BT) connected to an Era 100. Everything was working fine and easily until yesterday when there was no sound coming out of the speaker while connected. The speaker still connects as soon as the turntable is on. I’ve reset the speaker. The turntable connects and plays audio with a different speaker connected and my Era 100 plays when connected through my phone and computer, just not sure what’s happening now when the turntable and speaker are connected. They were working together as recently as two days ago.
The old Sonos app showed what percent the battery of my Move & Roam were at in the app. Now, all it shows is a battery icon with a lightning bolt in it to show that it is currently charging. Being of limited vision, I can not tell if the battery is ‘full’ our not. Is there a way to see what % the charge of these speakers is at?
Just updated Ace / App to latest version to try the Ace TV audio swap with Beam Gen 1 and Ray.Thanks for adding support for older soundbars Sonos, this works really well. I also love the head tracking feature.Only suggestion (as raised quite a lot elsewhere), would be to enable sound on both the soundbar at the same time as the headphones. Use case is that I am harder of hearing than my wife.@Corry P . Can you pass this feedback onto the powers that be if you haven’t already done so for others.Ross.
I find it outrageous that Sonos obliges you to give your precise location to manipulate the settings in the system. This is a clear violation of my privacy. And for the people who say well just change hardware, I have invested heavily in sonos, to do this would cost me thousands. Also for the people who say this is use how it is, get used to it, no, we need to stand up to this kind of behaviour. Sonos if you are listening, please change this. This is unacceptable.
