I upgraded most of my household to S2 devices back in Feb 2023. I kept one S1 zone player active for my garage that I controlled using the S1 mobile app on my iPhone. This worked fine for months, but in the past week, the S1 mobile app prompts me to Use the Sonos S2 app, and I’m not clear what changed or what I need to do.Did the S2 software change now support control over S1 devices? I think I might need to factory reset my S1 device, but not sure. Thanks for your help.
I'm no longer seeing the search categories at the top of the screen that I used to (to select search by artist, song, album, playlist, etc.). The only options displaying at the top are "Stations" or "Podcasts & Shows" and when I search there are no options for pandora or spotify. Using the S2 controller on a samsung/android. My wifes controller still shows the old view. Any ideas on how to get this back to the previous search options?
Hi AllSort of newbie here, just got an arc, sub and 2 x era 300s. All set up and it sounds amazing…However, when I got add streaming services, Spotify is there but Amazon Music isnt there to select. Anyone else had this issue or know a solution? Im UK based so it should be available right? Thanks
I swear this worked for a few days as I tried out the Amazon Music Unlimited free trial, but now the iOS Amazon Music app does not seem to be passing along metadata (artist, song, album art) to the Sonos app. Instead, I just get a grey screen on Sonos with “Started from Amazon Alexa” at the bottom. I did briefly install Alexa on one of my Sonos One’s (and then uninstalled) about the time this started. Anyone have ideas, or seeing the same thing? I’ve removed & re-added speakers to Alexa, disabled and re-enabled the Sonos skill in Alexa….still cannot get the AM app to work properly. Metadata is passed properly with AirPlay casting, and everything is great when started within the Sonos app. Is anyone else having problems with the AM app casting to Sonos speakers?
I have been using a Sonos Amp hardwired to several speakers in our backyard for the past year. I generally use the Amazon Alexa App on my phone to play music on the Sonos Amp. The music information (Artist/ Song) has always shown up on the Sonos App when I’ve started playing music through Amazon Alexa. I’ve also had the ability to skip songs to the next song with the new Artist/ Song information Displaying in the Sonos App.Starting yesterday, when I start playing music from Amazon Alexa to the Sonos Amp the initial Artist/ Song info displays in the Sonos Amp, but if I skip to another song or the initial song is done playing the Artist/ Song info stops displaying in the Sonos App and I am unable to skip songs in the Sonos App. All that displays in the Sonos App is “Amazon Alexa.” I have no idea what has changed to cause this and any help to get it back to how it was a couple days ago would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your time, I really appreciate it.

During normal operation I loose control of volume and pause. this is my setup beam plus’s 2 Sonos one —- airplay to select speakers…. Spotify for musicwhen my system locks up there is no way to shut it down with the iPad controls , Spotify Controls , or Sonos App. After a few minutes it usually clears if not I have to unplug speakers. any suggestions to resolve this ?
Hi all,Hoping you can help as I honestly don’t know how to fix! Ever since the recent update of the sonos app, the app won’t connect to my account and therefore no music services. I’ve reset my router, reset the app, re-downloaded but it just keeps saying:It’s connected to the system ok, so can play a song via the Spotify app and control volume & speakers etc via the Sonos app, but can’t login or search for music. It’s very odd as I have perfect Wi-Fi on my phone, I’m currently sending this from my phone….Any and all help appreciated!!Thanks,Stefan
Trying to connect S1 device to new Synology. It worked fine on the old Synology. With the new one, I have SMB1 and NTLMv1 enabled. If I try to add the NAS, I can see in the connection log that the proper user is getting logged in. (With wrong password, the log does not go). But the Sonos UI is saying that the connection is being refused with no permission. Thanks for any pointers.
I moved my play 1 and Play 3 since when I have been unable to reconnect either.I can only use S1 as my phone does not support S2.The reconnection options on S1 are greyed out or are not present making the app useless. It appears that my only option is to purchase a new phone which supports S2 which I have no intention of doing.Should I sell or otherwise dispose of my speakers ?I should add that I have been visiting various outlets seeking advice, over about a three month period, to no avail
Hi,Hope someone can help - I’m a bit new to all this!I recently ditched Windows for Linux (didn’t want to throw away a perfectly good laptop!) and am trying to get my Sonos 1 controller on Android to see the music library on the laptop. I think I’ve managed to share the Music folder but whenever I try to enter the file path for the music library, the Sonos app cannot find the computer! I’ve seen a few articles where people seem to have sorted the problem but I simply don’t have the knowledge of where to find the global settings they’re all talking about!!Anyone got the patience to help an old bloke get some music back in his life please?! 🙏
It’s been a few days since I’ve played music on my Sonos system and evidently the app has updated.I no longer have the option to play the music that’s “on this device”. What happened? Why was this removed? Is it coming back???I don’t use Spotify or YouTube Music. I don’t know what Bandcamp is. I want to be able to play the music that I own that’s on my phone. And I don’t want to have to Line-In. That was the beauty of the Sonos system and is why we invested in some speakers. This app is useless to me without the ability to play music from my phone.
I use Sonos Move outside on the deck in the sun and in the shade. I haven’t figured out how to change the default Night Mode to something I can see in daylight. The IOS app has a Light Mode and a Dark Mode. But, the option does not appear to be available on a Windows 11 PC. I am using the latest version of Sonos Controller for PC v15.4. I would like to change it from Dark Mode to Light Mode so I can see the scroll bars (which disappear on a bright day).Other than that, everything else is tickety-boo.
sonosアプリでApple musicを再生する際、曲の終わりで、次の曲がかぶって再生される。前の曲がきっちり終わった後に次の曲を開始して欲しいのだが、設定で変更できるのでしょうか？ Moderator edit:Google Translate-When playing Apple music with the sonos app, the next song is played over the end of the song. I would like the next song to start after the previous song ends exactly, is it possible to change this in the settings?
Hi all,Spotify used to work reasonably well for me; sometimes it’d take a moment to connect to the speakers, but then it was fine.Since a short time (maybe 2 weeks or so?), I’ve noticed that quite often, it’ll just not go to the next song. In the Spotify app itself, it’ll show something like “4:50” for a song that’s only “3:44” etc, and just keep going until I hit next manually.Tracks will also hang intermittently, and the song shown in the Spotify app or Sonos won’t match what’s actually playing. My local music library does not have these problems, neither does Amazon Music, YouTube Music, or Bandcamp. So I’m assuming it’s unlikely to be a local networking problem (I’ve got a sufficiency of WLAN repeaters on my core network, plus a Boost). Indeed, sometimes when this happens during a Spotify session, the next song will indeed come from the previous queue of local library music! This is rather infuriating. Has anyone else observed this? And even better, how to fix it?(My system has a pai
Good morning all. Last night I installed the first 2 of what I expect to be many Sonos components in our new place, a beam and sub. I've been browsing the forums and I am happy to see such an active group. I'm sure there will be many questions across time I will have for you all. I installed and set up the components and connected to my pandora account with no issues other than ones discussed here already. The room sounds great. I installed the app on my wife's phone and it immediately found the system and hooked up using my login credentials. Here's the question. She has her own pandora account and will want that running when I'm not around. Is the fix to this as simple as reinstalling the ap and having her create her own Sonos login to be able to set her own credentials to log into her pandora account or am I over thinking this?We will be quickly adding a couple of amps with outdoor speakers, another sound bar on a second TV and speakers in a rec room along with satellites for the
Hello! I was trying to add a music folder to sonos s2 app windos 10 but it is stuck in an infinite next next loop between select folder and adjust sharing options, no error messages. Run the program as administrator, I checked firewall settings but no luck, I can play music from pc app to sonos. any ideas?
iOS Privacy settings in 16 incompatible with S2 and Sonos - accepting the privacy risk required to use S2.
My iPhone12 is “unable to connect to Sonos” using the s2 app. After calling in to the Helpdesk I learn that my Sonos Play1 is online, connected to the Wifi network, and it on the same network as my iPhone. However, the S2 App cannot find it because the “Limit IP Address tracking” option, which is primarily for Mail and Safari, is switched on.When I switch this selection off the “Private WiFi Address” selection automatically switches on. The iPhone system toggles between one of the options being on for at least one round, until I can finally switch them both off. And, when I switch both of them off, then my iPhone gives me notice of a “Privacy Warning.” The Helpdesk agent informed me that the Sonos cannot be accessed if I am using either of the privacy settings on my phone, even without a VPN. I am saddened as it seems the only way to use this device is to expose my phone or other iOS device to privacy risks. Is there anyway around this. Can’t I just bluetooth connect them? The He
