Hello: I make my playlists from Apple Music and then move then to Sonos. On playback I notice some tracks are not as loud as others, needing a change in volume! Is there a way of having a standard music level for all tracks within the playlist?Grateful for any help or advice please. This isn’t a big problem but I seem to change the playback level often when listening. I am looking to stop this if possible. I happens when I use both iOS and Apple Mac controllers. Thx. Mike
when adding pandora to sonos system. Now the first prompt you see after selecting activate is a new step to put in an activation code. There is no information on where this code is located. This is new. I’m a dealer in Tampa Fl and have done 100’s of systems and have never seen this. Anyone else running into this?
It would seem that quite frequently most of the CBC Music On Air stations disappear, the CBC Radio One stations seem to be unaffected. Specifically I frequently listen to On Air Pacific and use it for my wake up alarm. While I know that I can access this station via TuneIn, there’s two problems with that. Typically when you start a stream from a TuneIn station, they play that loud “Tune IN!” clip at the start akin to Netflix’s launch noise, this is not exactly how I want to be woken up but would prefer a soft fade in of whatever CBC is broadcasting. Secondly, I’ve noticed that when I use the TuneIn stream, not long after we start listening, it will start to suffer from audio drops every 30 seconds or so which makes for a terrible listening experience. If I browse to CBC’s website, the streams missing from Sonos are available so I can’t help but wonder if the Sonos app has a timeout set wherein the music service’s list of offerings loads and this timeout is simply too low or CBC’s respon
The Sirius connection has been unstable the past two days. Stream kept dropping intermittently throughout the day yesterday. Today it is continuous. Sometimes it comes back on its own. But most of the time it has to be started. Multiple error messages result.“Unable to play Real Jazz it is encoded using an unsupported digital rights management system””Unable to play the song is not encoded correctly”“Unable to play the connection to SiriusXM Canada was lost”Connection has always been reliable. When playing Amazon Music Unlimited Dolby Atmos tracks through my Arc/sub/One SLs the volume level is ridiculously low. It doesn't happen with HD and Ultra HD tracks. Looked around and found this reddit post:https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/rc5zqb/low_volume_on_amazon_dolby_atmos_music/ Tested the suggested workaround of simply pausing the Dolby Atmos track and restarting and it automatically fixes the volume every time. Crazy and annoying. But it avoids the problem of manually increasing the volume of an Atmos track only to have the next non-Atmos track blow you out of your chair.
Hi, there are several posts on adding a samba share for old sonos systems, including on this forum that reference:setting ntlm auth=yesin smb.confI tried this and various other settings before eventually scoring with this solution:server min protocol = NT1as indicated hereIt seems this is needed for newer samba systems to use the old SMB1 protocol which the old sonos systems use.Hope this helps someone.
I have used Pocket Casts with Sonos for several years without issues. After encountering a problem, I deleted the Pocket Casts music service from my Sonos system in attempt to correct issue. I have not been able to reconnect. When I go to “Add a Service” on either Android or Windows Desktop app, I get a “Check your network connection error” when I try to add Pocket Casts. I do not get this error with other music services, which I am able to successfully add, so I do not believe there is an issue with my network connection. I believe there is an issue with Pocket Casts, but Sonos Status Page shows Pocket Casts as “green check mark”.
There seem to be 3 streaming options for my favourite station, Classic FM. Sonos Radio; Global Player & TuneIn. Recently, all 3 of these providers have been interrupting steaming music with advertising. This is in addition to the normal advertising either side of news breaks etc. This intrusion ruins the enjoyment that listeners ought to expect and from my perspective at least, is completely counterproductive as it would discourage me from using the products or services. If this doesn’t stop, I will get a tuner and use the line-in facility again, streaming the FM radio channel instead. Hopefully pressure will be applied by Sonos to eliminate this intrusive practice.
Hi all, from a few weeks, the Deezer service on my Sonos Connect stoped to work. I have a Premium Deezer contract. Is there a known issue with Deezer those last weeks?Yesterday, i rebooted the Sonos Connect. It changed nothing. I tried to add the deezer service even if it was present and i had an error message, something like “issue with authentification. if it continues, contact your Sonos support”.I delete Deezer service successfully. I tried again to add it and i had the same error message.I reset my Sonos Contact. Now, i have only one available service which is “last.fm”.Please, how to have again the list of all the available musical services like before the reset? The version of the Connect devive is 8.6 and i can’t upgrade it as i use an old dedicated Android tablet to pilot it.In advance thank you for your help.
I tried Sonos HD Radio and thought it was decent but not worth the $8 per month so I cancelled. My wife decided she really liked a couple of stations and wanted me to reactivate it. It says I have to call to reactivate, what’s up with that? Like any service I should be able to activate and cancel it online. Would love to hear the logic on that one, Why?
So I just tried to open Sonos Radio HD again and am getting the annoying error that I’m already subscribed (which is true) but the app acts like I’m not.If I try to manage my subscription in the app it just shows the screen as if I’m not subscribed, but when pressing “Try it now” I get the following screenshot: So the app tells me I’m subscribed, but doesn’t show me the Radio. When I press ‘OK’ in the above alert I get the following screenshot after a couple of seconds: And afterwards nothing happens and I still can’t listen to Sonos Radio HD. If I go to the radio menu then I just see it as if I’m not subscribed. So pretty annoying, how to fix this?
When listening to a local radio station through Sonos, how do I turn off the The Progressive commercial - the one where he steps on toys while turning out the lights - that repeats 3 times every hour. I never hear this commercial when I listen to this radio station in my car.
Hi thereI have a NAS drive where I store my music files which has been working fine for years with Sonos.Recently when I add files to the NAS and thus want to Update the Music Library via the Desktop App I get a “Music Files not Found” error as if Sonos cannot see the drive or the path. But Sonos CAN see the drive because it can play existing music files in the library. I can see the drive and contents via Windows Explorer on the same laptop as I am running the Sonos Desktop from.Nothing has changed that I know of in the Sonos set up or firewall settings etc. I haven’t done any Firmware updates on the NAS drive and it’s not visible externally so I don’t think any external updates have happened automatically.Sonos Controller and Sonos Music Library are showing on the list of Windows Allowed Apps with the Domain, Public & Private boxes all checked,I tried removing and adding the drive via Sonos Settings - it cannot see it (although it CAN as it happily plays music from it!)Any help gr
First time poster here. Having a problem with Imported Playlists. There is a new playlist called 'Library' that I have not created and it is not present in the Playlists sidebar in the Music app. Mac OS Monterey v12.2.1. This seems to be new and may be eating up imported playlist numbers on the Sonos side. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?
Is there a way to limit SMB connections the Music Library? Each speaker has >15 connections to my NAS which results in denied connections after a while.
Hi, I recently added a new pair of Sonos SLs to my system that had just one pair, and noticed I was getting time outs from my NAS when trying to play music from my Music Library on the NAS. The playlist would skip about 10 or 20 songs and then finally play one. I’ve traced this problem to the elected sonos speaker in each pair opening up a large amount of SMB connections to my NAS (more than 15 each). On some older NASs, there is a max connections limit (mine is just 50 per share), and over time considering other stations may connect as well, it exceeds that limit. Why does Sonos need to open up 20 or so connections for each speaker that is playing music from the local NAS Music Library just to play a single song, and is there any way to limit it? I can’t see that it would need 20 connections from a performance perspective. Here’s an example of what I see on the NAS server coming from the lead speaker in each pair: root@ix4-300d:/usr/local/samba/bin# ./smbstatusSamba version 4.9.3PID
I’ve been adding songs to a large playlist for the last few hours. These are all albums on my NAS, not from streaming services. Although the message displayed is that all the songs on the albums are being added, at some point it simply stopped adding them. The playlist currently has about 3500 songs and when I add up all my playlists there are about 12300 songs in total. Is there a hard limit on tracks in a single playlist? Is there a limit on the number of tracks in all playlists? Is it just me or should I have gotten a message saying the adding is failing rather than that it worked?
Saw this issue discussed in earlier threads, but didn’t see a ‘how to fix’ solution. I’ve just had this problem. I’d previously transferred all the CD albums to desktop in FLAC format to match CD quality; no problem. But when I transferred the music files to a Flash drive to download to WMP on a laptop all of the albums were missing track 1. Spent ages trying to resolve the issue and eventually tripped over a remedy. I noticed that all the missing track 1’s were listed in a ‘Unknown Album’ folder; but I couldn’t see a way of reinstating the tracks. I tripped over the solution when using the WMP ‘Find Album Info’. Beneath that dropdown menu is ‘Update album info’; click on this and hey presto track 1 returns. Incidentally this problem didn’t occur with mp3; the issue seems to be with mp4. Hope this helps someone.
Do you have any help on why all of my songs have transferred over to my new PC on the SONOS app but the playlists have not transferred? In iTunes I had exported the iTunes playlists and then successfully imported them onto my new PC (the playlists show up in iTunes), but Sonos is not syncing the playlists. I did the import prior to installing and updating the SONOS app and I have updated my music library. Thanks again for any help.
