Home do i connect sonos ti streaming device (e.g. YouTube)? Thank s a lot

I’ve seen this requested a few times but wanted to expound on the possibility of more enhanced feature control. Sonos, could we please have sound profile schedules, with the option to assign a profile to a room at specified times with the option to enable/disable features?  For example, create a “Sleepy time” sound profile that turns on night night mode, disables loudness, and turns off surround.  Assign that profile to a speaker/room and schedule it to turn on and off at specified times?  features could include adjusting:-ambient/full music playback-tv loudness (on surround speakers)-bass level-speech enhancement mode-night modei know this is probably a big ask but these speakers should actually be smart if we are integrating them with smart homes and voice assistants :)I know you can sort of do this with voice assistants but with my British partner and my American accent voice assistants usually cause

When I am in Apple Music on my computer, I see 35 playlists. When I am in Apple Music on my Sonos app, I only see 23 of them. Why is that?

Hi all,I quickly want to share my experience I have made over the weekend regarding my Sonos system playing songs from my NAS (Synology). I have setup the connection between the NAS and the Sonos system quite a while ago and have just used it seldomly. Now I wanted to play some songs again over last weekend and realized that the connection / integration did not work anymore. No clue since when it failed.I tried different options including deleting / recreating the connection, creation of new users on the NAS, changing the password of the users and so on. I found articles in the net giving me the hint to check that the NAS is set to support SMBv1; but this one was enabled.FINALLY I found one article that helped me to solve the issue: two main conditions are necessary to make it work again: SMBv1 must be supported / enabled and NTLMv1 (as authentication layer) needs to be enabled / supported as well. Why does Sonos not support the controller for Mac (or Windows for that matter).  All online help tells you how to do things on iOS or Android.  I use Controller on my Mac, and I find it very irritating that Sonos won’t provide any online support for computer users.

Hi all - so I have two of the newer Sonos 5 speakers tied together with a Gen 2 Sub and a soundbar.  From what I understand the 5s and the Soundbar will support the Qobuz 24bit streaming, but the Gen 2 Sub will not.  So my question - since they are all grouped together, will the two 5s still play 24 bit or will the sub bring it all down?

Does Sonos have any plan to allow its Users (Customers) to PASSWORD-PROTECT control of the App?This question has come up repeatedly from Sonos Customers, going back now over 8 years(!), yet it is always ignored by SONOS, or some diversion answer is given like “change your router” ...”hide your internet router password” ...”stop your guests using your internet” ...etc ...none of which truly solves the problem; a problem that I’m sure with all the tech expertise that SONOS has, just to simply password protect the app.Here’s a quick real example of how allowing access to my SONOS system by anyone with a SONOS app can be ...we had some friends staying.  We didn’t give them access to our Sonos but they downloaded the SONOS app. Logged into our wi-fi (which of course I would give them as they need internet access for emails, etc) and they started using out SONOS at their whim. Hi,I have 3 Sonos speakers: a Play:5 a Play:1 and a playbase. Last week I noticed there was an update available for my system, which I installed. After the update I have problems with the IOS controller. The play:5 and playbase are disappearing from the controller all the time and only the Play:1 is visible. This only happens on my iphone with the ios app. On android all speakers are visible all the time. Sometimes it helps to have the app scan for new devices, sometimes the speakers just reappear again after some time. It's pretty annoying as my iphone is my standard device.I've reset the app, deleted it and installed it again, restarted all speakers by unplugging them, shut down my router, reste the wifi etc but the problem still exists unfortunately. As it only happens on IOS it seems more like a problem with the ios controller than anything else…..

My eldest is getting to the age where they are able to use tablets, PCs etc.  and is getting increasingly independent. They also have a Sonos speaker in their room which they use for podcasts and music.What I’d really like is an experience tailored to kids and parents:Limit the rooms that they can control (no having fun messing around with speakers in the office or other bedrooms). Limit the sources / filter adult content Curated Playlists / streaming services (e.g. Stories Podcast on Stitcher / Spotify)Another issue is that their Windows Tablet is in Windows S mode to prevent random installs, so we are unable to install the Sonos controller software as it is not available via the Windows Store.  Is there any reason that the existing Sonos Controller cannot be made available in the store via Project Centennial / Desktop Bridge / MSIX Packaging Tool, or whatever the current iteration is?

It seems as though Apple music playlists are no longer appearing in Sonos when indexing the library.After many hours of chat with Apple / Sonos it appears the reason is that Apple no longer generate the XML file required by Sonos to index the Library. It is unclear as to whether this is a result of my recent Monterey upgrade or not.The “iTunes Music Library.XML” ( you must have the spaces !! ) file can however be exported by Music  / saved to your Sonos library index location and all should be fine, (although you’ll need to do this every time you change a playlist ) but importantly for us all is that Sonos clearly know this restriction to their offering but are not making to clear to all.  Unless a fix is provided by Sonos, or you have the capability to generate XML files (many people will not), the Sonos APP is now in my view seriously compromised.  It was bad enough when we lost the ability to play direct form our phones, but this is now even worse.   I fear 3rd part

missing level indicatorI have a Sonos Arc in my Living Room and in the Mac controller the volume indicator is missing only when it is grouped with my Roam not my Sonos One (Master Bedroom). iPhone app works normally.All software is up-to-date. I cannot change the volume or mute the Arc/Living Room speaker. anyone seen this before or have a solution? Thanks

I had the latest Sonos app running fine on a Mac with Big Sur. I upgraded to Monterey (12.0.1) and there are permission issues that cause mp3 files not to be found by the indexer. On initially installing the app, I granted it access as requested. Afterwards I found that the permissions on individual mp3 files now had permissions including “SONOSDMS1. Custom” When I ad new mp3’s to my music folder, Sonos won’t index them.If I go into Terminal, cd to the top music folder, and do  sudo chmod -R ugo+rwx *and then try indexing again, the files are found. I’d like to do something a bit more specific than granting world rwx access. Does anyone know what the permission is that SONOSDMS1 wants to see on files? Again, this is something new after installing Sonos on Monterey, didn’t happen on Big Sur and earlier OSX releases.

Hello everyone is there a way to play music with dolby digital plus playback?I play music via youtube app on Sony tv with the arc and I can multicast it to another room with dolby digital plus playback. Is there another way of doing this without me having to turn the tv youtube app on?Theres a very big difference in sound airplay vs dolby digital plus. Thanks

Can you play WAV files from a WD My Cloud connection?  Also does it need to be a NAS or can it just be a regular My Cloud?

In my iOS app in settings/system it correctly shows my Boost. However when I go online and look at my account it shows my old bridge not my Boost. How do I correct this?

Does anyone know of any way to lengthen the allowed time limit to make individual room volume adjustments???  System gives you approx 3 seconds to make adjustment and so you have to keep going back and forth to consider changing different room settings. Thanks! 

Hi, just wondering if there is a way of getting invited to test beta software. I have been a member of the beta program for a couple of years and never had an invite to test any software.. I have an ARC, Beam, sub and ones. All my profile is filled in but still never get anything. Anyone have an idea or who to contact?

Sorry to bring up this apparant old chestnut.  But I’ve spent 6 weeks with WD and got no where.Using Sonos WIN 10 WD MY Cloud HomeI have a sonos system and am using a WD My Cloud Home as the music server.  The private folders for general storage on the WD are visible and in operation.  However Sonos is not working either via the service app or via the public folder.  The latter is preferred as I believe the WD My Cloud app is no longer working.I did have the puiblic folder visible in WIN 10 explorer and was able to upload a brief library.  Sonos can see it and operates fine. Hoever I cannot edit it any more as my PC cannot see the device nor the public folder .  IP Scanners show the device and WD discovery works fine. ANY help would be appreciated

When I open my Sonos 2 app for my multiple speaker set up in the main floor of my home, it sometimes detects my Sonos 1 set up in the basement and goes to an Options screen. Going to the choices, one can open the Sonos 1 controller,delete, set up, and so on, but then one cannot use the Sonos 2 app or speakers with this dialog open.So far, to resolve it, I have rebooted the device I have the app installed, and this sometimes “fixes” it.Also, in the the Sonos 1 controller, I play something on the speakers there, then go back to the Sonos 2 app on the device, it will now open separately and have been able to play the set up speakers on Sonos 2. I then stop the Sonos1 player. So, the question is, why is Sonos 2 detecting and attempting to set up my Sonos 1 capable speakers which are already on a Sonos 1 system?Is there any part of the Sonos 2 app that will allow me to shut this feature off? Also, both systems are on the same WIFI network.
