Please fix the new UI so it is easier to identify my devices and favorites on IOS. The old UI was extremely easy to identify my devices - the new one is horrible - at best...
I have been going back and forth with Sonos Support for over a month on getting my rebate coupon for my three CR-100s and it essentially is me saying "I didn't get it." and them saying "Check your e-mail again." With a short interlude of "I'm going to be out of the office and I'll have someone else tell you to check your e-mail again until I return." to liven things up. I resubmitted my data via the web form as well as providing it directly to the support person via e-mail but still no coupon. I get my other mail from Sonos with no problem but just in case I provided alternate e-mail addresses to try. That suggested option got no response from Sonos. I finally broke down and called support and spent 15 minutes on hold. While there is a call-back option it is very hard to activate, I don't know if the LOUD blaring hold music that makes you hold the phone well away from your ear overwhelming my key press or if the time window that the key press will be accepted is very small
Hi All, I've been enjoying my Sonos systems for seven years now, but recently my controller unit won't charge when placed back on the charge cradle. If I restart the unit, sometimes it charges, but not always. I really like using the controller as its very simple to use. And thankfully the interface has stayed the same all along. Is it a software glitch (as I updated a month or so ago) or do I need to buy a new battery? Any answers greatly appreciated. Many thanks Prit
This topic thread should be used to discuss how you are replacing your CR100. Please post concrete methods. This thread should not be for Griping/complaining about the decision to depreciate the CR100.
Using SONOS to control existing in-wall speakers throughout a house.
I've had some luck setting up Insteon keypad switches to control some audio functions, such as play, pause, and volume. It's neat to have a physical button on the wall I can push to adjust the volume or switch it off when the music gets so loud that Alexa can't hear me. However, I've noticed that when trying to program the buttons to control a stereo pair, that things start to get weird. Namely, after trying to program that into the switch to address either the left speaker or the right, it simply doesn't work. To get the switch to work again with another non-stereo pair, I have to delete the scene and start over. Has anybody else had any success or failures in getting their Insteon and Sonos working together?
I can only speak for myself, but the SONOS app before 8.0 was near perfect. It was ultra fast, selecting room and what music to play was super intuitive. Everything important was on the same page screen. I've had lots of friends ask me about why get SONOS instead of competitors like HEOS and such. Even though HEOS and others can offer a wider variety of physical connections, sound formats DTS etc...there was before 8.0 an extremely easy answer to this: The APP. It is super fast, never buggy. You come home from work, go into the sonos app and within 2 presses there is music in the living room. It doesn't matter how great the hardware is if the software doesn't work, but with the SONOS app, it just works, always, and so EASY. But now that argument is gone. The new sonos app, with all the stuff on the home screen, and now you have to go into seperate tabs to select room and search for music......you RUINED it. You downgraded the app to something similiar to HEOS' already awful app.
SONOS has done an absolutely admirable job keeping all there original hardware compatible and functional, and I commend them for that. I mean over and above what should be expected of them, but they have chosen to drop support for the CR-100. There will be more casualties to come, as new features are seemingly being hindered by their aging platform of the original devices. They have had the beta program operating for years allowing public beta firmware and software to be tested by those that choose to become members. The system has the ability to load a different Fork of the Firmware and Software to do this. It is time to develop a Legacy Program as well to allow people to choose their path. Move on to version 9 with new features and free support (but without CR-100) or continue with the features we have today on 8.x There is no reason why this could not be done. Give the CR-100 and the other legendary Sonos Legacy devices a chance to continue to be used as they are used t
I upgraded yesterday to the lates version for Android. After this none of the cover art in my local music collection is shown any more. They did previously. My local music collection are on a NAS where each album folder has a folder.jpg in 1024x1024 resolution. All music files are flac with no embedded cover art in them. Is this a bug or a change in how cover art are handeled?
I just bought a Sonos Play 1 today at Best Buy. Samsung Note8 can't find the Network and I am stuck setting up the speaker. I tried an older android phone and I was able to connect. I am not going to use an old phone just to play music, is there a work around to this if Samsung Note 8 is not compatible?
Searching the App store, there shows but the option for an iPhone or iPad, but not an iMac? The version on my iMac stopped working, so I was advised to remove it and start again.
The app just updated to the latest version then when I opened it it asked to update the speakers. I read the update and it said it was for a couple small improvements and no where at all it said that if you have a sonos speaker plugged into a access point that you will NO LONGER AFTER THIS UPDATE WILl YOU BE ABLE TO GROUP PLAY WITH OTHER SPEAKERS IN OTHER ROOMS . It now straight after the updated app and speakers firmware , states that the speaker I have plugged in through the access point will be unable to be grouped with any other speakers in the entire network , I would have to purchase a boost to do this . The group functionality was working fine and because of the misleading and false description not including all the changes the app will make if i update it , I want to be sent a firmware so I can downgrade and a link to downgrade my app too. Or release another update that does not include this flaw and lets me group my speakers that are connected through access points. Why would
So I registered for the recycling program with my CR100 Controller but still, haven't received email credit? Does anyone know how long it takes to get this?
I have v 8.3 Sonos Controller on my iPhone. When I go into it, it tells me there is an update. In the past, it would just then update, but now it sends me over to the App Store, where the App Store tells me that I'm up to date and was last updated 3h ago. However, every time I go into the Sonos Controller it says "Sonos update available" with an "Update Now" button that takes me back to the App Store. How do I get beyond this? Do I have to just ignore it until the next update? Not thrilled with it now wanting to force me to the App Store yet not know if it is updated or not.
I have deselected App refresh and 'Automatically check for updates' from Sonos controllers but I still have a menu item called 'Update Now' prominently displayed in the apps. I have tried restarting the apps but it still appears. How do I remove it? I am worried that I may accidentally update the system. Thanks
I frequently find that the spotify app within Sonos not only does not refresh my own playlists, but now I'm finding it's not even loading all of the results on Spotify's own server. For example, search for "Taylor Swift" Her new album Red is available within Spotify, but if you search Spotify within Sonos, it is nowhere to be found.
I would like to be able to right click on a song/songs and go to open with, and have the files go directly to the Sonos controller and play. Itunes, windows media and many other player do it.
I've been a Sonos customer for almost 4 years now. I started with a Sonos Connect:Amp and loved it so much, I continued adding components (2x Play:5, 3x Play:3, and a Sub - have been considering 2x Play:1 and a Playbar). Additionally, in boasting about the simplicity and stability of Sonos, many of my friends and colleagues have also added Sonos to their life. Unfortunately, over the past year - each update causes more problems. It's to the point now where I dread updates and delay updating itself until I'm no longer able to run my system without updating. I'm not sure what you guys are doing - but I'm getting really tired of resetting my entire system, fiddling with switching router brands, and struggling through non-responsive music services every time you feel like making some incremental update to a system that worked pretty much flawlessly 4 years ago. Sonos definitely seems to have lost touch with the user friendliness that sold me as a customer. I'm really hoping you get
When new updates arrive from Sonos they are indicated on all my devices, which is excellent. The updates install from the Apple app store for my iPads and iPhones and just work. items i.e. iPads, iPhone. However, when i want to update on a macbook air or my Mac mini. It never works from the app on each of these devices i get error messages . Why? i have to download software from the Sonos site and update. It just seems that there is something lacking
again tonight all of a sudden 4 of my 6 speakers dropped off the network. WTF, what other brand is out there that is wireless like Sonos? This used to be a great speaker, now you have to setup and login to an account to do anything with them. every fucing software update loses my stations and I have to add them back. hey Sonos if you can't find a decent programer that can do upgrades and not lose shit you need to give up
It's been a few months without having *Favorites listed in the App and I find I use the desktop controller most of the time now as this is the only way of seeing them in a straight vertical list. If they could just be added back as a menu item at the top of the Browse tab in the App that would be great, or even better as an option to replace the My Sonos tab with a *Favorites list?
Bonjour, Comment connecter un Iport Connect a un réseau WiFi utilisant un Boost ? Cordialement. Bernard.A
Hi, Just received my Playbase and I have it hooked with my two Play 1 speakers for surround sound. I bought Chromecast Audio so I could integrate Playbase with my Google Home, but there doesn't seem to be a line-in. I thought Playbase was able to integrate with Home. Maybe I was wrong. If not, does anyone know how to integrate Playbase with Google Home? Thanks, Kenny
I'm running a BT HomeHub 6 in dual mode - 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Obviously, my Sonos One will only connect to the 2.4GHz network which is fine (plenty of questions already on this). My iPhone 7 Sonos Controller is connected to the 5GHz band and doesn't find the Sonos devices. Is this to be expected? Can anything be done other than disabling the 5GHz band?
iOS app, currently running 8.3.1 I had the red dot 1 on top of "More" I clicked on it then clicked on "Update Now" it said "Sonos need updating..." and says to click on the Update button on the bottom I clicked on "Update" and nothing happened I went manually to the App Store and did find a waiting update for the Sonos app there I updated at the App Store then I had a message telling me to update within the app itself that update went quickly and everything is working fine I'm just posting this in case anyone else has the same problem and can't get the original Update button to do anything
