I have deselected App refresh and 'Automatically check for updates' from Sonos controllers but I still have a menu item called 'Update Now' prominently displayed in the apps. I have tried restarting the apps but it still appears. How do I remove it? I am worried that I may accidentally update the system. Thanks
I frequently find that the spotify app within Sonos not only does not refresh my own playlists, but now I'm finding it's not even loading all of the results on Spotify's own server. For example, search for "Taylor Swift" Her new album Red is available within Spotify, but if you search Spotify within Sonos, it is nowhere to be found.
I would like to be able to right click on a song/songs and go to open with, and have the files go directly to the Sonos controller and play. Itunes, windows media and many other player do it.
I've been a Sonos customer for almost 4 years now. I started with a Sonos Connect:Amp and loved it so much, I continued adding components (2x Play:5, 3x Play:3, and a Sub - have been considering 2x Play:1 and a Playbar). Additionally, in boasting about the simplicity and stability of Sonos, many of my friends and colleagues have also added Sonos to their life. Unfortunately, over the past year - each update causes more problems. It's to the point now where I dread updates and delay updating itself until I'm no longer able to run my system without updating. I'm not sure what you guys are doing - but I'm getting really tired of resetting my entire system, fiddling with switching router brands, and struggling through non-responsive music services every time you feel like making some incremental update to a system that worked pretty much flawlessly 4 years ago. Sonos definitely seems to have lost touch with the user friendliness that sold me as a customer. I'm really hoping you get
When new updates arrive from Sonos they are indicated on all my devices, which is excellent. The updates install from the Apple app store for my iPads and iPhones and just work. items i.e. iPads, iPhone. However, when i want to update on a macbook air or my Mac mini. It never works from the app on each of these devices i get error messages . Why? i have to download software from the Sonos site and update. It just seems that there is something lacking
again tonight all of a sudden 4 of my 6 speakers dropped off the network. WTF, what other brand is out there that is wireless like Sonos? This used to be a great speaker, now you have to setup and login to an account to do anything with them. every fucing software update loses my stations and I have to add them back. hey Sonos if you can't find a decent programer that can do upgrades and not lose shit you need to give up
It's been a few months without having *Favorites listed in the App and I find I use the desktop controller most of the time now as this is the only way of seeing them in a straight vertical list. If they could just be added back as a menu item at the top of the Browse tab in the App that would be great, or even better as an option to replace the My Sonos tab with a *Favorites list?
Bonjour, Comment connecter un Iport Connect a un réseau WiFi utilisant un Boost ? Cordialement. Bernard.A
Hi, Just received my Playbase and I have it hooked with my two Play 1 speakers for surround sound. I bought Chromecast Audio so I could integrate Playbase with my Google Home, but there doesn't seem to be a line-in. I thought Playbase was able to integrate with Home. Maybe I was wrong. If not, does anyone know how to integrate Playbase with Google Home? Thanks, Kenny
I'm running a BT HomeHub 6 in dual mode - 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Obviously, my Sonos One will only connect to the 2.4GHz network which is fine (plenty of questions already on this). My iPhone 7 Sonos Controller is connected to the 5GHz band and doesn't find the Sonos devices. Is this to be expected? Can anything be done other than disabling the 5GHz band?
iOS app, currently running 8.3.1 I had the red dot 1 on top of "More" I clicked on it then clicked on "Update Now" it said "Sonos need updating..." and says to click on the Update button on the bottom I clicked on "Update" and nothing happened I went manually to the App Store and did find a waiting update for the Sonos app there I updated at the App Store then I had a message telling me to update within the app itself that update went quickly and everything is working fine I'm just posting this in case anyone else has the same problem and can't get the original Update button to do anything
So I have looked around but didn’t find the answer anywhere... When I save a playlist as a favourite (because I want to select it with the Xpress remote that I got as a replacement for my CR100) the same playlist now shows up TWICE under “My Sonos” in the iOS app. I can delete the favourite, then the original playlist stays on there. If I delete the “real” playlist, both entries disappear... I am sure this is not how this is supposed to work, as all my favourite playlists are showing up two times on the My Sonos screen. I have looked but have not found any way to switch the iOS app to just showing favourites or only playlists on the My Sonos screen. Am I doing something wrong?
Surface Pro 3 running Windows 10, Sonos application version 8.4, build 41350131. When the application is opened and any results are returned in the right-hand pane, the pane does not show the scroll bar to enable you to scroll through the results. None of the panes can be resized to enable to the scroll bar to be resized. Maximising or minimising the application does not resolve the issue. The user is unable to scroll through the list of results returned, unless using screen touch to drag the results.
There seems to be an issue with the way that mute works when controlling the Sonos from the Sonos app or from a remote control (like my Harmony Ultimate). When the speaker has been muted and then the volume up button is used, the Playbar is not automatically unmuted. If I click the physical volume up button on the Playbar device - it will automatically unmute. But this does not happen from the Sonos app when I increase the volume or from my Harmony remote control. The current behavior is very "dangerous" because some people thinks the volume is turned down and keeps pressing the volume up button. But nothing happens because it is muted. But even if the device is muted - it is actually turning the volume up (I can see this in the Sonos app). When they finally try the unmute button, the volume might be at top level and the speaker might be damaged because of the high volume. I'm not sure if this is a bug or intentionally done like this - but I think the current behaviour is w
I can't reauthorise my spotify account. I have tried switching off, resetting controller but still won't work. I can log into my spotify app with facebook
I would need a possibility to save behind some preset buttons as bookmarks level of volume and Music Sources for different rooms. For example I could have a "TV set" for listening to TV in two rooms at certain volume level. Then preset button "Radio" could put a certain radio channel to every Play:5 except those in children's rooms.
Where is the setting to view albums as a list instead of a tiled layout? I can't find it. I have a few artists with many, many albums and, when browsing through albums of these artists, having to scroll through the albums is an extremely lengthy and tedious process.
At IHDNY we are Control4 dealers in Long Island, NY. We are having a lot of problems when it comes to controlling any Sonos device with the Control4 Platform. Will there be any update on this matter?
If you install the anymote app and add it as a skill in Alexa, you can use it to do voice Command over your Sonos. This appears to work the best when compared to alternatives. See the link below for anymote in the Play Store. I set mine up relatively quick today and it immediately worked. You may have to pay $6.99 for the full version. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.remotefairy4
I’m getting tired of the forced updates to use my product. Additionally, I tried to add a new player to my existing 5 player system yesterday and I can’t do it without the mandatory sonos account! I paid north of $300 and it’s a brick until I create an account. I now forced to update my desktop app - something I never use - and can’t because of an error and am told I’ve got to do a full reinstall because the version on the desktop is out of sync with the versions on my players. This because SONOS forced the crap updates on me. This is on top of the last two weeks of fooling around with a system that won’t stay connected because the players got out of sync between a bridge and the WiFi. I’m about done. This sucks. What do I do to get this up without a forced account and more mandatory updates?
Can't believe Sonos have made so many mistakes with the latest update. I seem to recall that all previous updates appeared to improve the functionality of Sonos, but not this one. Did you guys not have the common sense to test the update with real people, rather than sitting in your ivory tower thinking that what you had done was great ? Do you not realise that people have made a significant investment in your products and don't deserve to be mucked about. My issues are: 1) Room Functionality - it took me 30 minutes to realise how multi-room now works. So frustrating 2) Changing between EVERYWHERE and back to distinct rooms doesn't work. I just recently put on my music to all 5speakers in my house (2 in one room and 3 in another) so I could prepare a bit of food in the kitchen. It worked fine until I then wanted to go back to my den and only have 2 speakers working. The controller would not allow me to swtich off the other 3 speakers. It is a glitch !!!!
I am having difficulty getting Sonos to play certain .wav files. I have linked the windows media library and that works fine, but some files won't play.
Hi We have recently had to upgrade our router and since doing so I have been unable to access the sonos app on my phone as it keeps coming up with the message authentication error. Everyone else in the family has no problem so I am wondering what I can have done wrong, obviously I have checked the password on the router and all is fine with everything except sonos. Any ideas. Thanks in advance
The reason people bought the overpriced Sonos speakers were to get the glorious, near-perfect Sonos controller app. Now Sonos has replaced that great user interface with the current complicated, difficult controller app. I've been using it for weeks and still have trouble finding simple controls. WHY? Is there a way to use the prior controller again?
First, I want to say I am fully invested in Sonos with speakers all throughout my house and surround sound around my TV. Please fix the UI on the app. Why is the UI on the mobile app so counterintuitive????? I've been using Sonos from the original play 5's and I have to say that the UI use to be great. Recently, it has progressively gotten worse, until it's finally unusable. The app actually suggests controlling Sonos from Pandora. Keep this up and I'm sure you'll lose even more market share to Google and Apple. Please listen to your users and fix this terrible or UI or put it back the way it used to be.
