the sound on commercials is way too loud. How can this be adjusted to be consistent with the volume on the movie/programming?
I made a discovery today that will enhance my Sonos experience. I installed iTunes on my desktop computer running Windows 10. To my surprise, one of my Sonos players (Play5: 2nd generation) showed up in iTunes as an available Air Play resource. In short, I can direct iTunes running on my computer to a Sonos player which can then be grouped with my other players. I didn't know you could do that. I am now enjoying my iTunes library in "Party Mode" while using iTunes on my desktop computer to control what music I want to play. Also have it playing from my computer while simultaneously streaming to Sonos. Pretty cool!
Maybe they have been available for a while? But I only noticed when playing a podcast yesterday evening. It's been much needed and is a great help (I'm using Pocketcasts integration - don't know if it's specific to that?)
I have a SoundCloud playlist with over 325 tracks on it, when I pull it up on the Sonos app it only loads about a fourth of it. I've inquired about this before, please help! My diagnostic confirmation number is 500090104
I have a playbar, 2 play 5s and 2 subs. How can i connect the 2nd sub to the same room ? Please help. Anxious to see if this is achievable....thanks for your time.
878357858 Diagnostic- sleep timer will only set on second attempt? Any ideas it doesn’t work first time ?
I am building a home and am planning on having 6-8 zones, all of which will have a sonos connect. Is there a solution to provide a hard-wired controller in each zone to control sonos? I have tried iPort express but this is very unstable and has to be reset all the time especially if someone uses an android device to control the sonos in that room.
Sound become muffled, lack of clarity and layering after update. Diagnostic number: 1915351048
Hi There. Loving the Sonos One, great little speaker. Definitely going to invest in more eventually however I Do have a question. I DJ, often from my living room using a DDJ SX and Serato. This is connected to a system in the lounge, but I would love the ability to have this also casted to my Sonos One in the kitchen, and eventually all round the house. I have read a lot of stuff that says you shouldn't connect to Sonos directly due to the latency But is there a way to stream to my speaker whilst still being in my sound system at home? I found this, which I am going to test, but this looks like it would send the whole signal (or not at all as the signal comes outside of the computer, from the DDJ SX... so I would probably have to route it back in with the monitor channel or something) Any ideas anyone has would be great. Thanks in advance folks!
Hello forum, I need to set up a Sonos system on a small, but corporate network. We have 4 VLANS. I would like to isolate the Sonos on lets say it's own VLAN. The controller/Wifi is set up and the Sonos works fine, but the controller has a DHCP IP: of 10.69.6.56 How can I change this to a static IP of lets say 10.69.5.10 I can ping 10.69.6.56 but there doesn't appear to be web control to it. Can anyone point me in the right direction if it's possible? thanks
Recently the sequence in the listing of my spotify albums in the sonos app has completely lost its logic. For a while it has been placing the most recently played albums on top, but now it doesn't anymore. So now the ones that have been put on top remain there, and all other albums remain alphabetically, clustered by artist, as is my spotify setting, which hasn't been changed. It makes very hard to find certain albums in this ever growing list. Does anyone else have this problem and/or does anyone have a solution? Thanks
Hi, i updated my android sonos app a few months back (and regularly since), and the volume control for Sonos that used to be on the main volume buttons on the phone (blackberry keyone) is no longer there. I can only change the sonos volume within the app now. This is frustrating. Please can anyone advise me how to include sonos in the general volume button (with volume control for media / ring / alarm etc) Thanks in advance
So theres my house with an Asus AimEsh system, contains 3 routers AC88u as main, and 2 AC66Bu1 as nods. I have some Sonos components in separated rooms: - Living room - surround system: playbase, sub, 2x play 1 as sorrounds - Work room: Play 1 - Bedroom: Playbar - Bathroom: One In the living room one of the surrunds was accidently unplugged. After it I can't connect it back at all. I have tried the following: - restart router - disable airtime fairness - see this here in a topic like this - turn off nods - restart phone/wifi/application - unplug speakers - connect with eternet cable - add as a surround None of these helped. Always: Surround setup error: Theres was a problem adding the surround speaker. Make sure the surround speaker and playbase are connected to power. Yes ...both of them im listesing to music on the playbase. If i want to set up as a new speakerI see it in the app with serial number, color etc led flashing green. Then i try to set
I use folders for my playlists in Spotify. I have collected a lot of public playlists and put them in a variation of playlist folders. When Sonos does not support these folders, the list of playlists get rather long. This should be fixed!
I have 3 Sonos Play5 and they all used to work. Suddenly, one stopped working, for no obvious reason. When I try to reconnect it, I get an exclamation point and a message that my Sonos product is not found and asking me to move it closer to the router. The speaker is right next to the router, while my 2 others are much farther away. What gives? I tried a Hard reset with no success
Full integration between Google Home and Sonos One
Is there a way to have the speaker volume come on at a default setting rather than where it was last left? On a couple of occasions I have been scared out of me boots when I restart playing music because the room volume was last set really really high! If not available today, perhaps this could be an enhancement added in a future software release. It would therefore be nice to have 2 settings, 1 to enable or disable the feature itself and 1 to allow definition of the required default volume level, both settings on a "per room" basis. Thanks for listening and keep up the fantastic work.
I just downloaded the controller app for Mac and it crashes before it even opens. I get a message that "Sonos Quit Unexpectedly." What should I do?
The new Sonos Controller app for Windows doesn't remember the window location anymore, meaning that every single time I open the app I have to drag it back to where I want it. Can this please be added back in? Thanks.
FINALLY! Prayers have been answered.. There is no longer a need for the Sonos controller for general playback control on iOS! Between Siri Shortcuts and IFTTT integration, you can turn an old iOS device into a standalone remote controller. Use IFTTT to create all your actions. Join the IFTTT maker platform and you can create multiple actions for one trigger. Siri Shortcuts allows you to make custom buttons and add them to your homescreen. You can also setup Siri commands for full voice control over your system! Available IFTTT actions are: Play, Pause, Resume, Skip forward, Skip back, Play Favorite, Play Stream, Volume Up, Volume Down, Set Volume, Mute, & Unmute Any of these actions can be tied to a button on the home screen, and with the maker platform you can create even more custom buttons with multiple actions. For example, a button to 'Play a Favorite @ Volume Level 20 in the whole household. Use Webhooks as the trigger and Sonos as the action, just setup a webhook
I'm looking for a full list of Ports to give to IT provider where I have installed Sonos equipment . Its a corporate network and security is quite tight
I connected one of my Sonos Play5's to my computer via the line-in headphone jack. I have 2 other Play5's and a bridge. Those other 2 Play5's not connected to the headphone jack very rarely produce sound consistently. This is a really bad problem for me considering that I play all sporting events and video thru my computer. I'll have guests over to watch a game, and 2 of my relatively expensive Sonos speakers constantly flicker in and out so bad that I just have to turn them off and hardwire other speakers. What I've tried: rotating the speakers, disconnecting/reconnecting, removing all components and re-adding all components in the Sonos program. The router is not near any of my Sonos components. I'm not running other programs that take bandwidth, and if I'm streaming something online, the video will continue to work while the sound cuts out. I have a 110mbps connection. Thanks for the help. -Kevin
In response to @avela13 on Twitter: http://twitter.com/avela13/status/390484096830291969 @Sonos would it be possible to add a feature where you could assign a playlist or favorite to play/mute button when pressed and held down?
Hi there. My wife and I are debating whether to buy into the Sonos eco system or not. So far, we have decided that we really need a dedicated remote control with easy button-based access to presets/favorites (since the devices themselves don't have such buttons for some reason). Physical buttons are just easier when you want to play certain radio stations or playlists! We have all sorts of devices - iPads, iPhones - even some to spare - but they just can't compete with real buttons, that you just click... and boom, music plays. Right now, we have borrowed a Play:5 from a family member, and the sound is decent... but... no preset buttons. I've tried to read about iPort Xpress, Creston, Insteon, Control4... but I really want to hear from some of you who have first hand experience with devices such as those? Do they work? Are there show stopping issues?... Best, Thomas
The new Sonos Amp is great! There is one thing I appreciate you think about. I have different sources (turntable, TV/ARC, Amzon Music, Spotify) to play music from. If I switch from Spotify to my turntables the Sub does not make the same sound and I have to adjust it (increase). If I switch then to TV mode I have to decrease the bass settings again. This feature request is about looking for a way to save settings for treble and bass per device, or per source, so I don't have to use the app every time I switch from one audio source to the other.
