I have 3 Sonos Play5 and they all used to work. Suddenly, one stopped working, for no obvious reason. When I try to reconnect it, I get an exclamation point and a message that my Sonos product is not found and asking me to move it closer to the router. The speaker is right next to the router, while my 2 others are much farther away. What gives? I tried a Hard reset with no success
Full integration between Google Home and Sonos One
Is there a way to have the speaker volume come on at a default setting rather than where it was last left? On a couple of occasions I have been scared out of me boots when I restart playing music because the room volume was last set really really high! If not available today, perhaps this could be an enhancement added in a future software release. It would therefore be nice to have 2 settings, 1 to enable or disable the feature itself and 1 to allow definition of the required default volume level, both settings on a "per room" basis. Thanks for listening and keep up the fantastic work.
I just downloaded the controller app for Mac and it crashes before it even opens. I get a message that "Sonos Quit Unexpectedly." What should I do?
The new Sonos Controller app for Windows doesn't remember the window location anymore, meaning that every single time I open the app I have to drag it back to where I want it. Can this please be added back in? Thanks.
FINALLY! Prayers have been answered.. There is no longer a need for the Sonos controller for general playback control on iOS! Between Siri Shortcuts and IFTTT integration, you can turn an old iOS device into a standalone remote controller. Use IFTTT to create all your actions. Join the IFTTT maker platform and you can create multiple actions for one trigger. Siri Shortcuts allows you to make custom buttons and add them to your homescreen. You can also setup Siri commands for full voice control over your system! Available IFTTT actions are: Play, Pause, Resume, Skip forward, Skip back, Play Favorite, Play Stream, Volume Up, Volume Down, Set Volume, Mute, & Unmute Any of these actions can be tied to a button on the home screen, and with the maker platform you can create even more custom buttons with multiple actions. For example, a button to 'Play a Favorite @ Volume Level 20 in the whole household. Use Webhooks as the trigger and Sonos as the action, just setup a webhook
I'm looking for a full list of Ports to give to IT provider where I have installed Sonos equipment . Its a corporate network and security is quite tight
I connected one of my Sonos Play5's to my computer via the line-in headphone jack. I have 2 other Play5's and a bridge. Those other 2 Play5's not connected to the headphone jack very rarely produce sound consistently. This is a really bad problem for me considering that I play all sporting events and video thru my computer. I'll have guests over to watch a game, and 2 of my relatively expensive Sonos speakers constantly flicker in and out so bad that I just have to turn them off and hardwire other speakers. What I've tried: rotating the speakers, disconnecting/reconnecting, removing all components and re-adding all components in the Sonos program. The router is not near any of my Sonos components. I'm not running other programs that take bandwidth, and if I'm streaming something online, the video will continue to work while the sound cuts out. I have a 110mbps connection. Thanks for the help. -Kevin
In response to @avela13 on Twitter: http://twitter.com/avela13/status/390484096830291969 @Sonos would it be possible to add a feature where you could assign a playlist or favorite to play/mute button when pressed and held down?
Hi there. My wife and I are debating whether to buy into the Sonos eco system or not. So far, we have decided that we really need a dedicated remote control with easy button-based access to presets/favorites (since the devices themselves don't have such buttons for some reason). Physical buttons are just easier when you want to play certain radio stations or playlists! We have all sorts of devices - iPads, iPhones - even some to spare - but they just can't compete with real buttons, that you just click... and boom, music plays. Right now, we have borrowed a Play:5 from a family member, and the sound is decent... but... no preset buttons. I've tried to read about iPort Xpress, Creston, Insteon, Control4... but I really want to hear from some of you who have first hand experience with devices such as those? Do they work? Are there show stopping issues?... Best, Thomas
The new Sonos Amp is great! There is one thing I appreciate you think about. I have different sources (turntable, TV/ARC, Amzon Music, Spotify) to play music from. If I switch from Spotify to my turntables the Sub does not make the same sound and I have to adjust it (increase). If I switch then to TV mode I have to decrease the bass settings again. This feature request is about looking for a way to save settings for treble and bass per device, or per source, so I don't have to use the app every time I switch from one audio source to the other.
The Windows Sonos app doesn't seem to show the length of songs either in the queue or the library. I can't find anywhere in the options or settings to enable that either. How can that be shown? Sometimes it is highly relevant to choosing which cut(s) I want to play.
Some soundcloud files that I added to various Sonos playlists are missing during playback. Nothing to do with my internet connection as other soundcloud files continue to play.
Hello! I have Sonos system set at home. I have an alarm set to a radio station to play every morning for the whole day and turns of at night. Whenever my internet turns off for different reason (Provider does maintenance), the sonos system starts the sonos Chime (Alarm) for the whole day. How could I turn the chime off, so when I turn off my internet the chime does not go off . Why does the sonos alarm not try to recconect my radio station? Or please make a different option of turning on radion stations by timer. I am really waiting on your answer ASAP because the sonos chime in getting on my nerves by making its noise!
Please add where we can use the Line-In selections as a Sonos Favorites! It's easier for family to select a Favorite than to know what Line-In means. Thanks!!!!!
Very often when I use the Sonos Controller for iOS on iPad Mini2 I get the iOS volume indicator appearing in Sonos, see image. When this happens hardware volume control is broken. Restarting Sonos solves the problem temporarily but soon it happens again. Usually when Sonos Controller have been in background for a while or when screen has been sleeping. The problem started some versions ago. Sonos Controller: 10.0 (latest) iPad Mini2: Model A1489 iOS System: 12.1.2 (latest) Another observation: When volume control is working the hardware volume buttons will often have to be pressed twice to get one "click" in the graphical representation. If the Controller App is restarted by "throwing it out" this usually will not happen. Other observations regarding other hardware: Old iPad 4, iOS 10.3.3 latest Sonos: Problem never occurs iPhone 7, iOS 12.1.2, latest Sonos: Problem with volume indicator never occurs, problem with having to push volume button twice is common though. I just got a sonos beam and I can’t figure out how to set pair it with my TV remotes. It’s a Toshiba Fire TV. I already have Alexa set up and can control the commune through my voice but not on the remote. Does anyone know how to pair the two?
Anyone feels sonos is missing the point of their API I feel they should open the line-in selection. We sell crestron and we would suggest buying sonos if they were to open line in selection any one else like me?
I've spent thousands of dollars on Sonos hardware, and it's fantastic. I'm ready to sell it all off and just go back to my wired system. Why? CONSTANT UPDATES that are disruptive and anything but helpful. As a former software engineer, I understand that code needs to be maintained in order to streamline the user experience, but this is bordering on ridiculous. It seems like every other time I open the app, I'm told I need to update, which often leads to me having to run around my office and reconnect ten players - VERY annoying. If you could simply reduce your updates to every quarter or at least every couple of months, I'm sure we would all appreciate it.
I use the lock screen controls on and off and miss them since the update. As a kind of workaround you may want to check out an app called Sonobit. Sonobit works by swiping from the lock screen to the Today/ Widget screen. You don’t have to unlock the phone and you can play, pause, skip tracks, and change volume. It is an older app that was somewhat popular before locksreen controls became available. I haven’t used it in ages but can confirm it stills works. It looks like it gets regular updates and might work with Apple Watch- can’t confirm because I don’t have one. I am not affiliated with the app maker just looking to help out anyone missing their lock screen controls. I think there might have been one or two other apps that were similar but made by other developers but I never bought them. I will try to find the names and post later.
Has Sonos fixed the MLB audio issue for this year?
I play my playlist via the spotify app and then select the Sonos to play my music from within Spotify. However, everytime I play a song from within my playlist it will play that selected song and then automatically restart the entire playlist from the first song in that playlist!! This is so frustrating!!!! does anyone know how I can fix this? I've updated my spotify app. I don't want to play it from within the sonos app b/c it's really cumbersome to use spotify from within sonos app. please help. I've had this ongoing for a while now!!!
I've recently bought the sonos beam and love using the alarm feature to wake me up. One slight problem though, when it goes off my phone doesn't give me the option for snooze or to turn it off on the screen. When I was testing out the alarm beforehand, the snooze screen comes up and is perfect but when my Beam is on low power mode as its been inactive for several hours. Nothing comes up on my phone to control the alarm. Any advice on to fixing this? Cheers
When is sonos going to make its system accessible to multiple users? It would be much easier to explain to my wife why I am spending thousands on a system if she could also play music when I'm not home???? Any timeline on this?
I just bourght the playbase and I think it is great. I have a problem, my wife.... Not my wife as my wife, but my wife when we are watching tv. She dosent like when the bas is to heavy, so I have to turn down the bas when watching tv and then up again when listening to music. I have two play 1 as surround speakers and that is a problem too, she dosent always fancy that either, but like it when listening to music. I would like for you people at Sonos to consider making two equalizers, one for the Toslink and one for music apps. Also I would like the surroung setting on off to be on the Toslink and music app on off. Also I would like for you to make the app in android so that it can keep my screen on when using the app. Thx Brian
