Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

When I startup the Sonos app, it always shows some music playing, when actually there is no sound coming from the Play:1 speakers. I assume it is the last music I was playing on the speakers days or weeks ago. I then select a music playlist and click on Play or Shuffle and the music I just selected plays just fine. So how can I "STOP" the music from looking like something is playing on the Sonos app?....not just pause it?
In a multi-room setup it would be useful to have only the closest speaker active, i.e. other speakers fade out as you leave a room and fade in once you enter a room.
The iPhone app and Mac desktop app no longer include the "I'm tired of this track" feature. What gives?
A week or so ago the Sonos app on my OSX Mac (10.11.6) got stuck. A dialog window popped up and recommended an update. I clicked "Let's do this" and the updater got stuck mid process. Unable to quit /cancel. Only option was to force-quit. Work around: I repeated the above process 2x and decided to get a fresh download of the 10.2 installer. Doing a fresh install from tis installer worked easily and correctly.
I would like to store my music library on the Fire 7 tablet. Can I then use this to link my Sonos app to the music library? I currently have a PC but I would like to replace it with something that takes less space!
I have a Boost installed, it created a network which I was able to see it and connect to it through my mobile devices. I am no longer able to see the boost network although the Boost is properly connected. Also, there an option in the app to activate this network I also no longer see the option.
Is there any way to Reorder Music Sources, so that my most used are at the top and I don't have to go through the whole list of music services to get to my TV source? If not, please consider this a feature request. Thanks,
Anyone out there know if it's possible to shuffle the order of the 'music sources' that appear in your list (desktop app)? Same question for the 'browse' menu in the mobile app. Thx!
In response to @jupean on Twitter: http://twitter.com/jupean/status/466288981475602432 Hey @Sonos @SonosSupport Love the new client - can I reorder the universal search results by Service - I want Spotify and Napster at top
My iPad2 can't take the new IOS so I can't update the Sonos software. Ok, I was left with a slightly limited functionality but it worked. Now it won't work at all as I can't do an update. This is absurd! So I need to but a new iPad so that I can operate Sonos on it? This doesn't show much consideration for your customers. Is there a workaround?
Hi all I want to keep using sonos 9.2. I dont want to update. Can I? If I update to any other Sonos controller, I also need to update to macOS 10.11, which I cant. Can I please keep using the product I paid for without having to update? Many thanks
I can control the sound volume of my Sonos equipment (One, Beam) on iPhone/iPad running iOS, but not on my computers (iMac and MacBook Pro (both 2017). Neither on Airplay2 through Apple Music nor through the Sonos app on these computers. Am I overlooking a settings option or is this feature lacking?
Need to deregister Playbar sotenant can access it without accessing my other devices
Hi, I'm in the throws of a project to create an NFC jukebox - you'd have a deck of cards with album covers and track listings printed on them, wave whichever you desire over a box, and it would start playing on the Sonos. I'm using a Raspberry Pi and Python. There are a few similar projects out there using older standards (SoCo - which doesn't make use of the new API, is very widely used), but I would like to use the new API. My interaction with it should be fairly simple, but I would like to give a user the ability to 'write' a playlist to a new card (so, they'd press a button, an LED would light up, they'd place the card on the reader and the playlist would then be associated with that card). Is there any way (via the API) to determine the playlist id of what's currently playing (or return nothing if it's not a playlist)? Thanks in anticipation!
Hi I am facing issues in updating my sonos in crestron Tsw-1060. But when repeat the same process in other two touch pannels it is not getting updated. Please find the attached image and kindly help me with this .
Since recent updates (May 2019), I can no longer maintain my place in a very, large, shuffled queue by grouping to, then dropping from a different room. This is a FUNDEMENTAL issue and is totally ruining my SONOS experience. For further explanation please also refer to the following posts: I have my entire music library - 35,000+ songs on shuffle in my queue. Is there any way to save my place? It's kind of a pain to scroll down so many songs after going away from it. The queue pointer is lost when another source is selected. The only option is to group with another player and transfer the queue plus pointer to that, then transfer it back again later. Can anyone else reproduce this problem or is it unique to my set-up? (1xCR200 Controller, 2xZP90 Connect, 1xZP120 Connect:AMP, 1xA100 One, 1xPlay:5 (1st Gen), BRIDGE, Windows PC and iPhone controller apps) I have now spoken to Sonos and this problem has been identified as a bug.
I have three widgets on my android phone, one for each room. The problem is that they don't stay connected, instead I get this message three times instead. Not connected to Sonos. Tap for more info. This is what I used to see when I want connected to my home network. Now I get that even when the Sonos app is running. If I delete one and add it again then all of them work again, until the next time they decide to stop working. Is anyone else having this problem, or know how to fix it?
I just added my second Sonos room, and have had something of an enlightenment. Previously I had only a Playbar 5.1 system, and I have been concerned with how I will be able to add it to AirPlay (yes, I know I can use AppleTV on the input, but I can't get full stereo sound on the rear surrounds with thie method). I was a bit disheartened reading about how only players that are grouped with the newer speakers will be able to AirPlay. But I believe I have mistaken grouping for some sort of permanent arrangement. But it appears grouping is a temporary construct, similar to how you can select multiple sources from within iTunes? The Sonos controller does physically combine the players (i.e. Office + Laundry Room), but functionally it seems like it's just a player selector. I'm not sure I'm as concerned with the implementation, seeing how easy it is to add an remove a speaker from the group. There's still the issue of having music play somewhere that maybe I (or rather, my wife!) doesn't re
I have just updated the controller software on two android devices (to 10.2). The previously available 'Connect to Sonosnet' option has gone and the devices can no longer see the sonos wireless network. This was really useful as my home network coverage is not good in some areas - sonos fixed that! Is this change deliberate or am I being stupid?
How can I see song ratings (1-5 stars) using ipad2 as sonos controller? I copied my CDs to hard drive in Aflac format.
In the Android app, Sonos needs 6 steps to change the equalizer and another 5 steps to change the subwover settings. Can not it be better ??
There is no logical sense to Sonos being concerned if my mobile is accessible all the time or not in my system. I want playlists from my mobile and when I'm connected it's accessible. That's it that's all. Any other way is really stupid and restrictive. Fix this please. It doesn't matter if the playlist isn't always accessible. That's not an actual sense in being so restrictive. Make it simple let us do what we want. Hour hard is this to resolve??
I have a Connect that is direct wired to my amp. I used to be able to control the volume to my in-ceiling speakers through my Elan app - one set of speakers, simple installation. I installed the latest update from Sonos and now the App is stuck on "fixed volume". There are no "room settings" when I open the 'Settings' tab and no way to change or adjust the volume settings on the Sonos app. Everything else works fine and I can manually adjust the volume through my amp but no way can I figure out how to change the Sonos app to variable volume. ???
Hi, After the latest update I'm no longer able to use my Ipad Mini as a controller for my Sonos speakers. It seams that the Sonos app is no longer compatible with IOS 9.5.x which is the max IOS version supported by my old Ipad mini. It's quite frustrating for me that updating my sonos speakers to newset version caused this to happen. Any suggestions how to fix this (other than just bying a new ipad, which is not an option) ? Would it really require too much effort for the Sonos team to keep backwards compatibility at a reasonable level? Kind regards Torben
I just got my Sonos Connect, and I thought I was able to connect it to my Pro-Ject Essential III turntable. Everything checked out just fine, exept, The Line In is set to deactivated. I can change it. Without it being activated I can use my turntable as an extern source.
