Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

I know this is a feature already requested in the past as I've seen multiple threads spanning over the last 5-6 years but they are all closed with only the latest comments from about 7 months ago. I'm sure I am not the only one who wants to be able to restrict Airplay or other forms of playing music from my Sonos system. Is this feature coming? I can't imagine it being too difficult to implement a simple pin that bluetooth speakers implement before establishing the connection with it. Another possible solution is expanding the parental controls that is already a feature in the app and making it more customizable to how the end user (me) wants it to be. Why hasn't this feature been implemented yet? Please help!
My sonos keeps cutting in and out?
There’s so many features that the desktop client, Windows and OSX, is lacking that I’m looking for a better application to use. Any suggestions?
When can we see the Amazon hd service integrated into the sonos app and voice control through Alexa or Google????Its really annoying having to open the Amazon hd app and cast to sonos come on guys surely this is something that can be done!!!Also support for playing masters through sonos via updating codecs..
looking at possibly adding a NAS drive to use with my Sonos , I have about 2 GB of music on the computer, which is backed up to a external desktop HD.I doubt i would use all of it with the sonos, say at the most 1 GB. Would a single disc NAS be ok, NAS drives have always been a bit of a mystery to me, i understand the basics of the raid side with mirror images, but i cant see me wanting this as I keep the music stuff backed regularly. Single NAS ready populated drives are a good bit cheaper as well. Looking at a max budget of £150 to £200, any advice on this , and what to purchase appreciated. Last question, 75% of my music is in MP3 format, the rest is Flac, will Sonos play Flac, if so would I notice any difference in sound, i am happy with MP3, so wonder if its worth bothering with Flac, considering the ammount of space it takes up.
Does Sonos move support HSP? I AM going to use It with skype on an Ipad or skype on an Android phone. Will It work?
I have a Sonos Port connected to my stereo and a Play:5 sitting in the same room. How can I force group the Sonos Port to my Play:5 so when I use the play button on the 5, I can play my music on both devices? Thanks.
Hi, I presently store all my ripped CD’s in flac format on a local drive NAS. However, device is old, and I therefore consider alternative solutions. I have a very fast fiber internet connection. Is it feasible at all to stream music in flac format from the cloud? Which cloud services offer online storage of flac files, while being compatible with Sonos?
I am a Sonos customer for many years and happy with it. In recent years, I had to get a hearing aid and am researching a way to connect it via bluetooth to my Sonos, so that I can control my hearing through it, without upsetting the neighbours…. I read that the CONNECT box has an Analogue output that I could connect a Bluetooth device to be paired with my ear buds… But it seems: The connect box is an old technology The Analaogue output is not via a 3.5mm plug and all Bluetooth I can find require that type of interface So, what are my options?
I can no longer play songs on my iPhone to the Sonos? Please don’t tell me it’s an iOS compatibility issue. I’d expect the Sonos App to have that capability natively. I don’t want to have to use AirPlay or upload my songs to a music service. Not an acceptable workaround. the previous Sonos app had a very easy “On this Phone” option. Worked great. Any reasonable options will help. Thanks
I'm constantly tweaking my EQ, Surround and Sub levels based on what I'm watching or listening to. I really just want these sliders all on the same page instead of drilling into the Advanced audio menu all the time. Wireframes attached.
How can I put songs into the queue? I tried so many times in many different ways and nothing seems to work..
Somehow, the past 2 weeks, either Windows 10 did an update or Sonos did, causing the PC app to quit functioning - tries to start up, small 2” x 2” or so splash screen then it hangs. Have uninstalled 2x (sucks because you have to reboot) - prior you need to force shut down via Task Manager all the little pieces, then uninstall, then reboot - works for about a day then hangs again. The PC is part of anyone and everyone’s home Sonos - the phone app doesn’t suffice when you’re on the damn phone - get your act together and have the PC and Mac based app full functionality and give it some damn love.
So, allegedly, Amazon HD is supported on Sonos. How does one know what songs are in HD and what are not? I don’t see any of this indicated on the Sonos app. Is every song in the upgraded HD format and we should just presume we are getting that quality? Thanks in advance
Hi, is there a way to play podcasts that I get from my podcast app on my Android on the sonos speakers? Also I want to listen to the Australian ABC Listen App through the Sonos speakers? I'm finding the sonos app quite limited in term of accessing apps that I normally listen through.
I have encountered a bug that I assume has something to do with locale/encoding. I am using the Sonos Controller on an up-to-date Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) on which the phone is currently in Japanese. I have just paid for YouTube Music and have added my account, but when I tap on "YouTube Music" from my list of services, I see this page: I assume this is an error page of some sort but it isn't being displayed properly. My YouTube Music account settings have my language set to English (UK), and my region set to Canada. I have tried changing the language on YouTube Music to Japanese but this doesn't seem to fix the issue. Any ideas?
Until recently I had a number of Sonos devices but only one of them was Airplay compatible. All devices are always grouped as Everywhere. When I play sound on an Apple Ipad it would automatically be distributed to all Sonos devices. This is great. Sonos is ecouraging owners to trade up to newer devices that are Airplay compatible. So I now have 3 Sonos devices which are Airplay compatible. But now when I connect to the same Airplay device that I previously did the sound is no longer passed to all devices. The 2 new Airplay devices are removed from the Everywhere group. Why is this happening and how do I stop this? I just want all the devices to be in one group.
It would be great if we were able to disable the touch controls of the playbase but keep the touch controls active on the connected surrounds. This would prevent children from jacking up the volume on the playbase yet still allowing adults to control it on the elevated surrounds. Currently disabling the touch controls works across all of the sonos in my living room
Well Sonos, when are you going to support Apple MacOS 10.15 Catalina?
I’m sure a lot of us use old tablets to control Sonos, I use this Vizio tablet. After the recent update i’m getting a warning saying that my Android version, 6, is not supported. There is no Android update available for this tablet. The app still works, will it stop working completely in the future?
There was an attempted burglary on my house last week, and I'm confident they knew I had Sonos equipment and cased my house specifically to steal it. I have a ring doorbell video of a guy come up to my front porch with a crowbar at 1:40PM in broad daylight, with two guys in the background -- one small enough to fit through my small windows and another to stay on the lookout. The windows were locked and apparently the burglars were not able to pry them open and not willing to break them in broad daylight. I posted the video on Ring and did contact the police. I am in the process of beefing up security at my house. My Sonos speakers are the only high value items in the house that a thief could easily use/sell after stealing. Sonos items could fit through a small window after simply unplugging them from the wall. I purchased them within the last year. I used the Enjoy service and I am suspicious someone who had access to their records tipped off the burglar. Sonos -- you need to fix
Can I play my Sonos playlist on someone else’s Sonos playbar?
"Response from Neil Young Archives on adding their service to Sonos - NYA music files are all master quality, ranging from 44.1kHz/16-bit to 192kHz/24-bit. Unfortunately, Sonos does not support the playback of hi-res audio and so NYA is not currently compatible with it. We'd certainly consider it though if the situation changes- and feel free to contact Sonos directly to let them know you'd appreciate this feature!"
Just purchased new laptop with Catalina iOS and App Store did not have Sonos App. Where can I find it? Is is findable or has Apple removed Sonos App?
