Ciao, I'm trying to connect the minidlna server on Debian 8 to my sonos playbar 11.0. From the TV I see media shared on server correctly, but from the playbar no. I saw that there are some posts about it in the community but very dated and they did not help me to clarify if this type of scenario is possible. in the “add services” section I saw that there is plex, but I would not like to switch from external services. Do I have to add the source manually? if yes, how? thanks to anyone who wants to talk about or share their experiences and/oropinions. Andrea.
Hi, is it possible to use my PC with iTunes and start a song to be played to my Sonos One SL? In short to stream it from iTunes on PC to Sonos.

Whenever I tell my Sonos speaker (a Beam with Google Assistant) to play and it had been previously playing from Spotify, it seems to start playing from a random artist’s playlist, rather than whatever was last playing on that speaker. Why is this happening…? Diagnostics: 1513315051
I have a Sonos One that I also use as an alarm clock, setting it via the app is simple but I don't get a notification as soon as the alarm goes off. I can't snooze it without opening the app, at notifications I don't see any Sonos so I can't turn it on either. I have iPhone X on iOS 13.4, Sonos app has been updated to the latest version (10.6.2).
Hi all, i recently bought 2 Sonos One Gen 2. They look 100% identical. As unboxed them i immediately recognized a difference in the Booklet Design. After Installing and registering the Products, i realized a second difference. Have a look at Hardwareversion and Serien-ID. Now i was wondering if there is a difference? If one Version is improved over the other? Put short: Should i go back to the Store, a swap the “older” Revision for the new one? Thanks in Advance.
I recently came across Ibroadcast and have to say it has solved all the problems I have had with music storage on my NAS server. I am now able to add album covers which also serve as artist covers. IBroadcast finds most of them for you. Having uploaded my entire library I will clean it up and download. However would rather it linked straight to Sonos. What i had intermittantly spent years doing has been completed in weeks. I also use Spotify but spotify does not suggest songs as good as IBroadcast.
Ah come on Sonos, alarms used to be so easy. It used to be click ‘More’, click alarms. Now in 10.4 it’s click ‘Settings’, click ‘System’, scroll around a bit, click ‘Alarms’. Why? Sometimes it feels like Sonos is constantly changing stuff for the sake of change, not to improve the functionality.
Why when I search under playlists on Sonos do I not see my Spotify playlists? Many of these are uniquely named and should be readily visible and yet they never appear in searches. I have all my playlists set to "Public". Any tips? I’d like to able to access my playlists from other Sonos systems (at work, at events, etc.). Thank you for the help!
Ok, I've had it with Sonos. This is the second time this happens. I already had to replace 2 iPad gen 1 with iPad gen 2 tablets and now it seems I have to buy 2 new one's again. I'm going to sell everything and buy some other system that does not impose these kinds of practices upon me.
We received a request for a new feature that would allow you to control the Sonos volume via the menu bar in OS X. Let us know your thoughts on this and add a +1 if you'd like to see this feature on Sonos.
Hi there. I have Spotify family premium and now have the Spotify kids app. It isn’t able to play on Sonos. Will this be added ASAP?
Display "Playlist" on the home screen.
Hi, is it in some way possible to control Sonos sound from distance? I have Sonos in a store, and I would like to be able to choose the music and volume from home. This because the staff is often changing the music or their own.
I know this is a feature already requested in the past as I've seen multiple threads spanning over the last 5-6 years but they are all closed with only the latest comments from about 7 months ago. I'm sure I am not the only one who wants to be able to restrict Airplay or other forms of playing music from my Sonos system. Is this feature coming? I can't imagine it being too difficult to implement a simple pin that bluetooth speakers implement before establishing the connection with it. Another possible solution is expanding the parental controls that is already a feature in the app and making it more customizable to how the end user (me) wants it to be. Why hasn't this feature been implemented yet? Please help!
My sonos keeps cutting in and out?
There’s so many features that the desktop client, Windows and OSX, is lacking that I’m looking for a better application to use. Any suggestions?
When can we see the Amazon hd service integrated into the sonos app and voice control through Alexa or Google????Its really annoying having to open the Amazon hd app and cast to sonos come on guys surely this is something that can be done!!!Also support for playing masters through sonos via updating codecs..
looking at possibly adding a NAS drive to use with my Sonos , I have about 2 GB of music on the computer, which is backed up to a external desktop HD.I doubt i would use all of it with the sonos, say at the most 1 GB. Would a single disc NAS be ok, NAS drives have always been a bit of a mystery to me, i understand the basics of the raid side with mirror images, but i cant see me wanting this as I keep the music stuff backed regularly. Single NAS ready populated drives are a good bit cheaper as well. Looking at a max budget of £150 to £200, any advice on this , and what to purchase appreciated. Last question, 75% of my music is in MP3 format, the rest is Flac, will Sonos play Flac, if so would I notice any difference in sound, i am happy with MP3, so wonder if its worth bothering with Flac, considering the ammount of space it takes up.
Does Sonos move support HSP? I AM going to use It with skype on an Ipad or skype on an Android phone. Will It work?
I have a Sonos Port connected to my stereo and a Play:5 sitting in the same room. How can I force group the Sonos Port to my Play:5 so when I use the play button on the 5, I can play my music on both devices? Thanks.
Hi, I presently store all my ripped CD’s in flac format on a local drive NAS. However, device is old, and I therefore consider alternative solutions. I have a very fast fiber internet connection. Is it feasible at all to stream music in flac format from the cloud? Which cloud services offer online storage of flac files, while being compatible with Sonos?
I am a Sonos customer for many years and happy with it. In recent years, I had to get a hearing aid and am researching a way to connect it via bluetooth to my Sonos, so that I can control my hearing through it, without upsetting the neighbours…. I read that the CONNECT box has an Analogue output that I could connect a Bluetooth device to be paired with my ear buds… But it seems: The connect box is an old technology The Analaogue output is not via a 3.5mm plug and all Bluetooth I can find require that type of interface So, what are my options?
I can no longer play songs on my iPhone to the Sonos? Please don’t tell me it’s an iOS compatibility issue. I’d expect the Sonos App to have that capability natively. I don’t want to have to use AirPlay or upload my songs to a music service. Not an acceptable workaround. the previous Sonos app had a very easy “On this Phone” option. Worked great. Any reasonable options will help. Thanks
I'm constantly tweaking my EQ, Surround and Sub levels based on what I'm watching or listening to. I really just want these sliders all on the same page instead of drilling into the Advanced audio menu all the time. Wireframes attached.
