I have a Sonos One that I also use as an alarm clock, setting it via the app is simple but I don't get a notification as soon as the alarm goes off. I can't snooze it without opening the app, at notifications I don't see any Sonos so I can't turn it on either.

I have iPhone X on iOS 13.4, Sonos app has been updated to the latest version (10.6.2).

Hi @roelfsema

I use alarms on my Sonos One without any problems and I don’t use the Sonos App. The Sonos One allows either Alexa or Google voice assistant. I use Alexa and set all alarms (and snooze) via voice.

Commands

  1. Alexa set Alarm for every Week Day @ 5AM
  2. Alexa set Alarm for Weekends @ 6AM

When alarm goes off:

  1. Alexa Stop or Alexa Snooze (then Alexa Snooze or Stop)

You can submit a diagnostic, post the reference ID in this forum and Call Sonos or contact them via Twitter or Facebook. If you feel adventurous you cancel all Alarms in the Sonos App and try the following

  1. Unplug you Sonos One
  2. Reboot your router
  3. Power Cycle your device
  4. Make sure you Sonos App and controller are up -to-date
  5. Plug in your Sonos One
  6. Set alarms via your chosen voice assistant.

This all works fine if you want the standard Sonos alarm, but are there any plans to allow wake up to a radio station on the Sonos? I understand this is not supported at the moment between Alexa and Sonos.

As @tobyprice said i want to wake up with my favorite radiochannel, according to sonos.com i can controle  alarms from your lock screen.

This doesn't work because i don't get a notification.

I believe I  have this working on my iPad (I think?) .. I have set the notifications for the Sonos App in the iOS notification settings, to show a notification on the device lock screen..

I set the alarm to play a local radio station and in the alarm I also enabled ‘Snooze Alerts’.

When the alarm/radio station plays at the set time … I received a notification on my device lock screen. (See attached screenshots).

Just to say that I don’t use alarms very often so not too sure if this is the lock screen notification your are referring to here, but as you can perhaps see, it looks like it maybe working.

Ah, I now see that when a user clicks the Sonos lock-screen notification, it opens the Sonos App and there is then no way to snooze the playing radio station… so forgive me for my misunderstanding of this reported issue.

i have switched the alarm to the ‘Sonos Chime' and see that will work okay and can be snoozed.

So this looks like it may possibly be 'by design', and/or possibly some further software development is maybe needed for radio-based-alarms to be snoozed.

Probably didn't make myself clear. Id like to say to my Sonos ‘Alexa, set an alarm to play Classic FM at 07:00 tomorrow’. You can do this from the app, but not by speaking.
