Controllers and Music services

Look guys, I really like my sonos system, I've got speakers all over the house... They're all older S1 compatible components. They all work and I'm happy with the system as it is right now. I don't have plans to spend a lot of money to replace equipment that is functioning so would you please just stop constantly trying to get me to switch to S2?This incesante encouragement is an annoyance and is doing the opposite of convincing me to buy more Sonos equipment. It's a major turn off.Please, do me and you a favor and please just stop trying to convince me that I need to get rid of functioning equipment. Stop the S2 upgrade messages and banners, please!

As many posters have note, EQ and Balance are important controls to access yet they are buried in the menu structure. Since EQ and Balance vary by room, I suggest adding a link to the volume popup:Easy EQ Access MockupIdeally clicking on the EQ button would then add the EQ/Balance controls to the same popup, under the EQ button line.  

With Roam I won’t always be on my WiFi thus reaching my NAS-based library will be tricky.  I could use the remote app that comes with my NAS but it’s clunky.  I would prefer to define my music library in S2 and thus reach it via 4/5G.   Is this possible?  If so, how to set up?

Hello I have Philips PUS8503, made in 2018. So far my experience have been amazing with ARC, but i have one tiny problem when it comes to turning TV ON. My arc is right in front of TV so it is covering TVs light that processes signal from remote. So my issue is: When i want to turn on TV with remote, it seems like that ARC doesnt get signal from remote, so it could pass it to TV. Everything else works amazing, i can turn volumes up and down, stop and play movies, and turn TV OFF with same button that turns it ON. So anyone have any ideas of how to fix it?Also doesn anyone have any idea why i cant get DOLBY DD+ ATMOS from netflix app? At first i thought that my TV doesnt support it, as spec info is different in different countries, but then turned on movie via USB and on TIDAL and sonos app showed ATMOS logo + i could hear a huge difference. I have the needed premium subscribtion and streaming quality is set always to HIGH + i have 500Mb/s optical internet. So yeah, havent found solutio

Hey Sonos Team: will you guys ever be adding subwoofer level controls to the main screen of the app. I find and I’m sure others find it takes a lot of steps just to adjust subwoofer if say watching a movie at home etc.  thank you,George

Hi folks. Have appx 50 GB of digital (MP3) CD music currently using an old Apple Time Capsule as a NAS. I have an Orbi router with a free USB port connected to my cable modem. Can I copy my files onto a 256GB USB flash (thumb) drive and then have Sonos look for the music there? I have a Mac and the the USB drive does not show on my network (on the Mac) when it is plugged in to the Orbi. Should this work? And if so, what would the path be. I suspect the Apple Time Capsule is on borrowed time, and I turn off my computer and want Sonos to be able to see the music library even when computer is off. Thanks for help!

Hi All,I can see that Sonos just pushed out version 13 of the S2 Sonos controller app.Does anyone know what the new features are of this major version upgrade? I looked at the Sonos change log and the last information posted was about v12.2.2 

Hi AllSince upgrading to S2 my devices keep falling off the wifi network. No idea what I need to do, I am a complete dunce when it comes to wifi configuration, dhcp, etc so I hope this is a relatively easy fix.My current and long served set up is as follows.Virginmedia Hub 3.0, Google Mesh wifi network with three hubs.Iphone 11promax iOS 14.4. I have ensured that Sonos is selected ON in the Local Network settings.S2 version 12.2.7Sonos Productsliving room: Sub, Beam, Two Play 1’s. connected to LG TV.Kitchen: Play5 newest generation.Music Room; I had a play5 first gen, it is powered off and I await (today) the delivery of a new Play5 having upgraded with the 30% discount. I do not have the S1 app on my phone or that legacy device connected, it is powered off.So before S2, I was running S1 and before that of course the sonos app. All was sweet, smooth and I had no connectivity issues that were apparent.Despite doing each of the items below OR a combination thereof the S2 app occasionally

Hello,A suggestion for the sonos APP: capability to browse folders.Currently, the APP (at least in Android), in the “Browse this device”, the available options are:Artists Albums Genres Songs Playlists PodcastsI suggset the addition of the option to browse folders. Why? Because not al files have the correct data to be identified, so if I look for a band (for example), not all songs are showing up. So, if I could browse to the folder containing all the files for the band (and the subfolders containing albums) and was able to play (recursively so to include any subfolder in the folder) from this folder, it would not matter whether the files have the correct data or not. Thanks!

Prior to the S2 app I had no problems.   Since that app upgrade I have routine connection issues.  I have called tech support multiple times and they say the speakers are connected to the system fine, so I’m convinced it’s comm between the phone and the system.  We have an EERO mesh system in the house for WiFi.   We have a lot of speakers.  On the order of 20. I am running a boost controller and we are using IPhone 11’s to communicate with the system.  This issue can be very sporadic.  This morning I was getting the cannot connect message and the 10 minutes later it connected fine.  Then 5 minutes later no connect.  Sometimes it only shows my move speakers and then later they all show up.  I’m running the latest IOS version on the phones and everything is up to date.  This I very frustrating after spending thousands to not be able to use the system.  Any help is much appreciated.  

Can’t see any difference for such a point release. Playlists still gone awol and strangely Tune In has to be reinstalled😳  Presuming this is the enabling release for tonight’s announcement of the new product.  Anyone spot anything new?

BBC say “contact your supplier”. Can’t see anything about this on BBC or Sonos websites. Anyone know what’s happening?

Hello,I use the Sonos app 12.2.7 on iOS, mainly in conjunction with Apple Music.To play a specific song or album, I use the 'search' icon at the bottom of the screen. It works well enough to find anything available on Apple Music.However, when I want to set an alarm to a specific song or album, the 'search' function is no longer available - I must select a song or an album that has already been added to 'my music' on Apple Music. As a result, the procedure is long and inconvenient. First, I go to the Apple Music app and add the song or album to 'my music'. Only then, I return to the Sonos app and set the alarm. Often, when the newly added song or album is not recognized immediately my Sonos, I must close the app and wait for a bit before trying again.Is there a simpler, more direct way that I am missing ? I would like to be able to search all of Apple Music when setting up an alarm, just as I can when I am looking for something to play on the spot.Thank you in advance for your replies

Has anyone noticed a sound quality difference when listening to Spotify started directly from the Spotify app vs from the Sonos app.   The message “Started from Spotify” will appear in the System section of the Sonos App.

I know there are a few older threads here suggesting Sonos users can utilize the Lutron Caseta Pico Audio Remote to control volume, play/pause, next/favourites - but I found through other forums (probably Lutron ones) that the standard Pico remote is essentially identical to the Audio remote, except for labeling, and works perfectly well for controlling Sonos once paired and setup. The Standard Pico remote here in Canada will cost about $23 vs. $50 or more for the Audio remote (Amazon pricing).  I used my label maker to create custom audio icon labels (see pic) to mimic the function of the Audio remote, but this isn’t strictly necessary.  It’s a shame that Lutron charges such a high premium for the Audio labeling but I guess it is a niche market.  They both come in black as well, which I would have preferred - however this again is more than twice the price.  The pedestals are $13 up here and highly recommended...they have a nice weight and grippy base.  Yes you must have a Lutron wire

I generally listen to Pandora. 2 deficiencies in the Sonos App have led me to abandon it in favor of Airplay:Inability to play on my Mac speakers (which is nuts!)  Lack of Thumbs up/down support for Pandora on Apple Watch “lyd” app.  

I click on “start my free trial” and it takes me to home page where it shows orders, profile, system...not sure how to get to Radio HD on app

Hi,I recently bought a Western Digital (WD) My Cloud Home in hopes of using it in conjunction with Sonos to stream a collection of live recordings that I have saved on a hard drive. The only option is to play these files from a hard drive as they are not recordings that exist on streaming services.I got the My Cloud Home set up and connected to my Sonos system and I can play files using the “My Cloud Home” music service that can be added to the Sonos controller.The problem I’m having, though, is that the Sonos My Cloud Home service only recognizes a some of the files in my collection, and many of the others don’t show up and are thus inaccessible.Does anyone know if there is another way to stream music files from a WD My Cloud Home device without going through the Sonos My Cloud Home music service?Thanks,Jon

I’m new to Sonos so maybe I’m missing something.In the Sonos S2 app for iOS is there a way to click on a single song and reveal the entire album this song is on? This would be very handy when listening to playlists if I want to jump to the album of the artist I’m listening to.  Seems cumbersome to leave the Sonos app, go to Apple Music, find the song/album, add to my library, then re-enter Sonos app in order to listen to it. There must be a better way! Thanks. 

Hi!It would be great if you could add the possibility to bypass the sub crossover filter in the app when connecting a subwoofer to an Amp. I want the possibility to let my front speakers always play the full frequency range also when a subwoofer is connected. So either have a radio button for whether crossover should be applied for both speakers and sub or for sub only, or an option to always send the full frequency range to both speakers and sub output and let me control the crossover on the subwoofer itself.Now I know I can achieve this by connecting speaker cable from the Amp’s speaker terminals to the subwoofer’s high level connectors. But the I’d then lose the possibility to control the sub volume level from the app.Thanks, Björn

I have a 5k sq ft restaurant and I want to hang 8 Play 5’s from the ceiling and install one Playbar on one of the 12 tv’s. I want to be able to switch from tv audio to Spotify via my phone and the app. Is this feasible? 

I have several speakers (Play3,Play5, OneSL) all working on my WIFI network.  What no longer works is my music store (hard drive) that was "Connected" to the SONOS environment via an old SONOS Bridge.  The music store is not located near a speaker.  

Hello, I am trying to sign into my SONOS from the iphone + ipad and it won’t let me. Unfortunately,  It will only let me sign in through the desktop. When logging in through the phone it tells me my password is incorrect although I am typing the password in correctly. I managed to change the email as well to see if that works but when trying to log in it still gives me the old email. Need help please.
