I have a new Sonos Play 5, which is in the gym extension. My wifi does not go to that area too well, so added a Sonos boost closer to the gym. However, after setting it all up, whenever i go into the gym, the Sonos app defaults to 'You need to be connected to a wifi network' message. How do I test the Boost signal, or see it I am connecting to my network, through it, or if the PLay 5 is connecting to the boost??? This is really frustrating. I am using an iPhone 7+. When i do a WiFi sarch, it just sees my hub, not the boost? I thought Sonos was suposed to 'just work'!! Please help.

Hey people, I have two Sonos Play 5's (Gen 2). I have them currently set up to my wireless router but i'd like to bring these speakers to my beach house where there is no wifi. Is there any solution you could suggest? and would i use them both? Cheers, Benny

Please can someone help me? Controllers had stopped connecting to Sonos. I'm running 3 play1's a playbar and sub connected to the bridge. The bridge is showing a intermittent white light flash, no lights on reverse. I have: Removed all devices from network Restarted Router Power to Bridge Powered speakers one by one (flash white, then end at solid orange) Replaced Ethernet cable to Bridge = No fix Just hardwired ethernet straight into a Play 1 = system up and controllers all working! My Questions Do I actually need a bridge? I can't even see where to buy one? I don't want to have a Play 1 hardwired in its current (fix position) - Is there a way to run without one over wifi? Others seem to be running play1 without a bridge, do I have old hardware? (18months)? Hope someone can advise me!

Hi people, wanting to know if the Echo dot or the Eco will pair with the connect amp. e.g echo in the kitchen and I say Alexa turn on radio. ? I know it can connect via the 3.5 jack but the amps are not in the same location as speakers. Thanks for any help.

Hi there, I have just purchased a play 5 and want to connect a turntable to it, should I go for a Flexon vinylplay or a Rega RP1 with a pre amp? If it's the RP1 which amp would you recommend? Obviously I would like the best sound possible for about that kind of money, any help or advice will be appreciated. .

I recently purchased the 5.1 Sonos package in Canada and will be relocating my belongings to Europe in a month. I would like to bring my equipment with me. Do you know if I can order a new set of European power cables for my speakers (or) if the speakers will be able to handle the higher wattage in Europe? I don't want to purchase power adaptors for each speaker as I would ideally like to have EU cables.

Hi I have been using sonos app with my home sonos setup for awhile. Adding a new system setup at work...how can the app be setup to access both? Completely different sonos systems, wifi, etc. What is best way to do this through the app?

Is there a way to integrate Sonos with a Wink Hub2? I want to connect it to my Ring door bell since I already have eight Play 1's all through out my house including a Connect Amp with outdoor speakers. I want to make sure I can hear my door Bell no matter where I am from home. Also by integrating with Wink, I was hoping to connect it to Alexa or something similar so I can give my Sonos voice commands like I do with my Xbox One and Kinect. Is this all possible?

My system consists of Boost, Stereo Pair Gen2 Play5, Connect and five Play1s,. I have Sonosnet set to channel 11 and my home 2.4ghz network (ASUS RT-66 Merlin Firmware) set to channel 1. Channel 6 is always congested. My immediate neighbour has a Sky router that must be set to Auto as it is regularly changing channel, causing me dropouts. Sonosnet does not appear as a continuous signal, popping up on inSSIDer as multiple connections when Sonos is playing but only occasionally when not playing. My questions are: Is there a way of having Sonosnet active continuously so as to block my neighbours Auto wanderings? My 2.4ghz channel 1 home WiFi is little utilised, but appears as a constant signal and as most of my other devices are connected to the 5ghz WiFi so can I have Sonosnet co-existing on channel 1 without too much issue or is the mere presence of a signal from my 2.4ghz WiFi going to cause me lots of problems? ? I wish Sonos would consider using 5ghz for Sonosnet (not just for 5

Hey guys, I recently got two Play:1 speakers and wanted to be able to play my turntable/vinyl directly to them. I went out and bought a Connect (various websites pointed to this as a solution), but am having second thoughts now as the Play:5 is about $150 more, but can connect a turntable and be a great sound boost/addition. I am noticing that I am getting some drop outs while using the turntable with the Connect. Is a turntable connected directly to a Play:5 more reliable? I currently have no pre-existing amp/speakers that I can connect to the Connect. Would it be worth it to fork out the extra cash and grab the Play5 so that I can play vinyl in addition to using it with my existing Play:1s? Or are there other features that the Connect offers that I am overlooking? Just want to be sure I've made the right decision... Thanks in advance.

So basically I don't use my Sonos too often, but when I do, it never shows up on either of my controllers (iPad and iphone) until I have reset the router. I don't have a bridge or boost. I'm pretty sure it isn't the strength of the wifi because it stays within the two to three bar region. It connects within minutes of me resetting the router, and stays connected for the entirety of the music session, until I close the app. I only got it a few days ago, so it can't be wear and tear at all. Can someone help me?

I upgraded to a dual band 5Ghz router this weekend only to discover that Sonos only works on 2.4 Ghz. I have an old Sonos Bridge that I had stuffed into a drawer a while ago. Is it time to dust it off? Does anyone know whether using the Sonos Bridge will resolve the network issue?

Dear Sonos, I have a TV with poor sound placed on the wall above the kitchen table. Therefor I would like to connect it directly to my Play1 which is on the kitchen table. That would be the ideal solution, since adding a Connect station would just be too much in terms of investment and equipment. Connect is useful when connecting to a serious receiver, not for a simple TV. Sonos, can you please put your customers first and add AUX/LINE IN to the Play1 and Play3? Not doing so will eventually cost you customers, since competition does not rest. And adding the feature will most like augment sales revenues for Play1 and 3. We have pre-installed Sonos system; Connect.Amp, Launch pad and speakers in the ceiling. In order for a newly purchased TV to get connected to Sonos system, which connection needs to be purchased? An optical cord mentioned by a retailer cannot be connected to any on Sonos side (Connect Amp is installed far away from the TV room). We wish to do without a sound bar purchase.

I recently plugged a TV into one of my Play 5s and was pleasantly surprised to discover it automatically transmitting the line-in audio over all of the SONOS system, throughout the house. I previously assumed that the line-in would only work for the individual speaker that I plugged into. Now I can hear the television audio in multiple rooms. The problem is that I'm getting frequent, brief, dropouts. They only last for a a half-second before recovering, but I would like to get things a smooth as possible. I should note that I am not experiencing dropouts when I listen to music via the SONOS connector. Does the SONOS Boost benefit audio that transmits via line-in? My current setup: 2 Play 5s 3 Play 1s (2 more on the way) The speakers only cover a small area of about 1000 sq feet.

I have a desktop iMac and would like Sonos Play 1 to be the output speaker. Any way to do this? ie. via Airport Extreme or some other way? Checking to see if Sonos has updated Play 1 to include this feature. From much older posts I've found so far, it seems that I'd have to keep my computer speaker setup for playing movies or You Tube videos etc. from my iMac. And use Sonos as a separate system for playing Sonos playlists, Apple Music etc.......But maybe Sonos has updated?. Could someone please let me know? Thanks! I have 3 Play 1 speakers. One of them doesn't stop playing the radio channel it woke me up today. If i pause the stream it will start playing again after a few seconds. I can't start any other music on this speaker. In return i get the error code 1002. I have already tried turning it off and on again but it started playing again. After that i reset the speaker. I can't believe it but again the radio channel started to play by itself. Please help me!

Hello, I'd like to add a Play speaker in my garage (probably mount on the wall or ceiling). My garage is not temperature-controlled and I live in New Jersey, USA. So in the winter it will be cold (20-30 F) and in the summer it will be pretty warm (70-90 F) . . . pretty much what the temperature is outside. Can Play speakers handle these temps? What about the Connect:AMP? I'm also thinking about outdoor speakers, but the Connect:AMP would be in an unconditioned utility closet. Thanks, in advance, for your help!

I just got my first pair of Sonos units - two Play:3's for the kitchen and bedroom and I absolutely love them. I'm not a huge audiophile, but the convenience and total plug 'n play nature of Sonos is what attracted me to it. Of course the next thing that occured to me was how to get this connected up to my stereo. What I don't understand is why the basic Connect is $349 while the Play:3 units are $299 each. I mean if anything it seems like a Connect is just a Play:3 without the speakers and amp? Why does it cost so much more for fewer features? Seems like the guts of the connect should be a $99 unit - I meant he appleTV is $99, and it does way more (At least in terms of technological capability - video/etc) than the connect. To be honest I've been drooling over Sonos for years - and I know the quality is very high, but the expense of the units has always put me off. It wasn't until the Play:3 that I felt like there was enough bang-for-the-buck to justify diving in... I'm proba
