Let's talk about Sonos Connect, Connect:AMP, Sonos AMP, and setups using Sonance architectural, or your own speakers and components.

I have a Connect Amp that was working fine, unplugged it to move it to another location. Now it will not turn on, no lights on front.
I have a question for which I have found half the answer, but not all of it so far... Situation is as follows: - My only speaker at home at the moment is a Playbar, it might get extended with another Play (1/3/5) at some point. I have no passive speakers to use. - I would like to use the playbar with a turntable, which I would operate as a stand-alone device, i.e. not connected to any further system / receiver. The turntable has a built-in pre-amp. - I gather I can hook up the turntable with the sonos system using a connect device. --> Question: does this setup require a connect:amp, or would a connect be enough? Again, no additional passive speakers to use, all I want to achieve is linking the turntable with the playbar. Thanks for any insights 🙂
Hi everyone, Fairly new to the community but not new to Sonos. Been using it for a while and loving what it lets me do. I've got two play 1s, a play 5 and a playbar and just want more! I'm massively into my music and have recently been missing the physical nature of having CDs/Vinyl that I can call my own. With this in mind I've been doing lots of research into turntables and have whittled my choices down to three. Pro-ject Debut Carbon, Rega RP1 (w. Performance Pack) and the Audio Technica LP120. I know the first two are supposed to have better sound quality but having read on here that I'd need a phono pre-amp between either of the first two and the Play 5 but wouldn't have that issue if i went with the third one as it already has one built in. Since reading that I've then come across a number of places where people seem to be saying they have wired their PDCs directly into the play 5 without a pre-amp and have then just turned the 'line-in' volume up to the max. They are all ver
I have a new Connect which I want to hook up to my analogue hifi set up but it is too far for a wire to my router. I set up the Connect and the Sonos app by hooking it directly to the router. But when I move it in situ using just WiFi, my Sonos app cannot find the Connect. Does the Connect have to be plugged into router. If not why
I recently got the Google Wifi router/mesh system, which is working like a charm in my overly-connected smart home -- except for my many Sonos speakers (Playbar+Sub+ surrounds, 4 Play 3s, 1 Play 5, and 5 connect AMPs. I've been scouring the forums for a solution, but haven't come across the definitive fix. It seems like using a Boost is the most common solution. My immediate question: I have an (old) ZoneBridge (BR100). For the purposes of getting Google WiFi to work, is this equivalent to the newer BOOST, or should I buy a boost. (My secondary (and perhaps more important) question: in case I have missed it, is there a definitive, succinct procedure to get Sonos and Google WiFi to work?:?
HI. I've got a number of sonos speakers and connects, and want to repurpose one connect to hook up to older outdoor (unpowered) speakers. I saw an older post/question from a few years back, but want to know if anyone has any recommendations for reasonably priced amps. Also, I prefer to have an optical cable input but I'm open to being convinced that the rca will also be fine for this application.
I am looking for feedback on setting up 2 stereo pair of Polk Audio Atrium 6, to the Sonos Connect Amp. 1. I would like to make sure the amp is ok to drive these 2 specific 8ohm outside speakers, NOT at ear busting levels, as I have neighbors. 2. I'd like to be able to adjust the individual speaker balance by using a speaker switch with individual volume control, with impedance matching, and then use the Sonos app to adjust ALL 4 speakers. 3. I'd like a recommendation on specific speaker switches with 4 individual volume control, with impedance matching. 4. Also, some detail on wiring for the best results with this setup. I'm not familiar with this topic, so I've read a fair amount on this general topic, and don't always find consensus on the best way of achieving what I'm looking to do....so I'm asking here...for either feedback, or point me to the best site for a speaker "layman". or...am I wanting to do the impossible!!! thanks in advance!
I’ve connected my new Sonos Connect to an old Yamaha receiver through the CD input in order to play music on an old pair of Klipsch speakers. When I play streaming music through the Sonos Connect, it sounds dramatically softer and less clear than the music that plays through the receiver’s tuner. I’ve tried connecting through various inputs (cd, dvd, etc), but the Sonos connect always sounds muffled compared to the the tuner. The receiver is a home theater 5.1 system. The only difference is the source (tuner versus Sonos connect). Any thought why the sound quaility would be so dramatically different? Thanks
I’d like to connect a pair of Genelec 8040s to a Sonos Connect, but don’t want a jungle of adaper cables so would like to be able to feed a DAC from a Connect and go straight to XLR out rather than connect via a converted cable direct to the Connect. Any ideas of some options for this? Thanks.
Good evening I am after a little advise, I have a Sonos Play 5 in the living room connected to a amazon dot a sonos one in the bedroom and a sonos one in the conservatory but a roberts I stream 2 in the kitchen I like this as it looks retro but would like to connect it to the sonos system is this possible?
Can I use a connect amp to use the turntable with Sonos one?
Recently moved into an existing home that has Klipsch in-ceilling speakers in five rooms + patio. There is a pair in each room along with a local volume control. The speaker runs are all tied to a common right now (one source only). I currently have them hooked up to Zone 2 on a Yamaha RX-V683. While the Yamaha drives the speakers OK, I find it clumsy to use even with the app. I also don't think Yamaha supports Apple Music (at least I haven't figured out how) which we enjoy. So, I"m thinking of either going with a CONNECT-AMP OR CONNECT for the in-ceiling speakers. The Yamaha will still drive a 5.1 set up that was also here with the house for TV viewing. Given the Yamaha drives the ceiling speakers with no problem, it seems like the CONNECT-AMP will too given the output? Like to get feedback on that though. I should add, while it would be amazing to have each speaker pair on their own zone - just not practical buying six CONNECT-AMP's. Also, could I do this cheaper using a CONNEC
Hi all, Since I've switched to the PLAYBAR as my primary speaker I wasn't able to play my vinyl records anymore. After researching for a solution without having to spent over 350 euros for the a CONNECT unit I stumbled on the topic below: https://en.community.sonos.com/components-228996/playbar-and-turntable-with-pre-amp-6735603/index1.html Today I received the AD converter and Toslink switch and connected them to my PLAYBAR, tv and turntable. The sound coming out of tv is as good and crisp as ever. The problem is when I switch to the signal from the turntable. When I play the record the sound keeps falling away. You can also hear it when you turn off the record and turn the volume of the PLAYBAR up, you hear intervals where the the signal falls away. It is like the signal isn't strong enough. I tried several things: - Tested the cables and switched them between the PLAYBAR, converter and switch. Same noise. - Connected the turntable directly to the PLAYBAR, without the
Would be it ok to unplug the connect amps periodically when I am traveling to allow time to cool down?
I have 2 connects, both hardwired Ethernet to my seitch and have turned Wi-Fi off on a permanent basis to the sonos units. Prior to that I set my stp settings per recommendations. When I reboot everything it seems to work for a while. The problem is with crestron touchpanels which have Native Sonos built in, it ooos up media player first and that’s supposed to show my sonos favorites and what’s playing with transports (next/previous). Those don’t seem to get no populated. So is tells me they are aware and it happened on a recent update but to contact Crestron. Lol. If they are aware, why not offer to downgrade firmware or a solution. They also didn’t tell me what the issue is, or from my standpoint if there really is an issue aside from proper setup. Again, if I call up the sonos app either on Crestron screen or my phone I can get everything playing but still without media player populating. Like to get this working as designed. Any suggestions?
Can I use connect amp with 4 passive (8 Ohm) speakers Kef hts 2001 + active subwoofer Kef Kube
Hi, I’m a new (and happy) Sonos Play:1 owner, already looking to expand my system. I was browsing various used ads and found this, which seems interesting price wise but it seems to be older Sonos components. The seller doesn’t know much about the system, so can anybody here tell me what they see on the picture? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/436312353477642 Would those components work with my new Play:1? Thanks, Pascal
I recently bought a White Sonos Sub and love it. Problem is I'm moving and now Black will fit in better in my new place. The sub is only 5 months old and has barely been used. Can anyone make any recommendations on places where I might find someone willing to trade? Thanks in advance!
can i connect by Sonos to my new Bose wireless headphones?
I have a zp100 that I bought used and does not qualify for Rma. Recently, it began dropping off the network. After troubleshooting with tech support, it seems the unit freezes up. It begins working again after reboot, until it freezes up again. It can last anywhere from 1 to 10+ hours between incidents. By freezes up, I mean to say that it does not respond to button pushes on the unit itself. The led remains solid white, but no response to buttons and it is no longer visible on the network. After reboot, it behaves as expected for a while. We have identified it is not an ip conflict. Also, the network ports continue to work on the back, even when the unit is frozen. This behavior happens whether connected via wire or wireless. Tech support says it is a failing unit and not a network issue. I am looking for others who have had similar problems to see if they were able to diagnose and repair the unit on their own. Or, I am looking for advice for a good repair center that I
Considering going with Google Wifi 3 piece mesh around the house - getting rid of / replacing my existing and weak wireless router. However, must work well with SONOS! Hoping I can just plug the SONOS Bridge into Google's designated router unit - like the old router and it works well? Will that be the case?
How important is a power conditioner for CONNECT and CONNECT AMPS?
I currently use a Sonos 5.1 System, which is supported with a Boost, in our Entertainment room. In the adjoining Living Room, I have a pair of Sonos Play 5's with a Sub. I have tried unsuccessfully to add a pair of Sonos Ones. I am getting a message that the speakers are a long way from the router. They are quite a distance from the router, but not my Living Room Speakers. I thought that with Boost each Sonos Product acts like an extender. Anyway, recommendations? Will an additional Boost do the trick?
Now that Sonos can be controlled by the most home automation systems it would be very nice that there comes a Sonos Multi Zone Amp such as the Denon Heos Drive. Now we have to stack the sonos amp and the clients doesn't like that. It isn't a professional solution for that kind a clients. So my Question is if there is an idea for that kind of installations to create a Multi zone amp
