Let's talk about Sonos Connect, Connect:AMP, Sonos AMP, and setups using Sonance architectural, or your own speakers and components.

I must say..I started out with a Sonos Play 5 2nd Generation and when I heard the sound out of it I bought 2 Play 1s with stands...Today I bought a turntable and the Connect Amp unit..Down the road Im going to add 2 more Play 1s and then I'll be streaming to 5 speakers...The fact it runs on Bluetooth is fantastic!!! I cant wait to twirl some vinyl on it. Peace...Im Bob and it is nice to meet everyone!
OK, seriously now. I love my Sonos System. I have it literally (almost) everywhere. 3 Playbars, 3 Subs, 2 Play 5's, 3 Play 3's, and about a dozen Play 1's - and a couple of Alexa pucks besides. I am a Sonos Beta tester and refer Sonos to anyone who will listen (pun intended). #BrandLoyalty, #SonosRocks I have a large covered Florida lanai, pool, outdoor kitchen, TV, fire pit - the whole deal. Well, half the deal anyway because I am still dragging a Play 5 outside and plugging it in every time I go out there. #AnnoyedAF. You keep introducing new stuff - Play 1's with Alexa built in, Play 1's with new colors, now a turn-table. But what gives on an outdoor speaker? I will guarantee you that there are more people who want an outdoor speaker than there are people who still have vinyl albums in their garage/basement/attic/anywhere. AND - PLEASE - before you start responding - Please don't tell me to connect a Sonos amp to some other company's inferior "almost as goo
Since airplay2 allows streaming to multiple speakers, will it be possible to stream music to both a homepod and a airplay2 compatible sonos to allow simultaneous playback across both platforms? I like the idea of having siri on demand, but havent taken the plundge because sonos will sound better even though the homepod has a respectable sound....i'd be in to be able to put homepod in my office, have that sonos to move elsewhere, and not lose the ability to play to my office and the rest of rhe house at the same time.
I have a connect and 2 surround speakers. I tried connecting connect to receiver with optical audio but does not work. Do I use the network connection or coaxial cord to connect receiver instead?
Hi all, hoping someone can help. I have my DJ setup wired via ZP90, output is fine through line-in and plays through all my Sonos speakers fine. I have sorted the compression and when I move the vinyl on the turntables there is no lag, however there is a small delay on the headphones. My connections are as per the photographs. I have REC out on the amp but unable to find a way to stop the delay in the headphones. Can anyone please help based on the photos? Thanks in advance.
My dealer said I can use the rear channel output of my cinema amp to push the rear signal to my Conneect and then to y connect amp , powering my rear speakers... It doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions ??
Can I just connect the "connect" via ethernet to establish new wifi and keep all my settings... i.e. I don't need to connect the Play 1...?
Hi I have got a BOSE Companion 5 that i am trying to add to my setup via a Connect. I am connecting the 2 via the Audio out on the connect into the auxillary input on the Bose (this is located on the sound module Puck) I thought this would be a simple exercise but i am finding that i am only getting the faintest sound out of the speakers with no Bass at all. My current setup includes a number of Play 1s throughout the house plus a B&W Zepellin attached to a second connect which also links to my Rega Turntable. any ideas as to how i can get this to work ?
My Sonos Story;I have a wife and two young boys and no sound system of any kind in the house other than the TVs (big TV). All in the course of one week each boy wanted a stereo system in their rooms and the wife wanted speakers out by the pool and a sound system in the house, I wanted a surround sound system for that big TV. I live in Florida with no basement and no attic so running and hiding wires is a mess. I also live in an Apple house, if Apple makes it I have a least three of them and what ever I get for a sound system must work with Apple. So I was at looking a three different systems and a whole bunch of wire and money. So I began asking all my friends what they have and only one of them had a Sonos system. After doing some more research I purchased two Play 3 speakers and a Bridge. Right off the bat I had problems with the system dropping out. I contacted Sonos and they told me to move the Bridge as it was having troub
This question never came up in years of use but now it has (long story). Does it output in some uniform format, or does it output in whatever format the digital input was in, e.g. if mp3 then mp3, if flac then flac, etc.? I'm considering a headphone amp-+ DAC that may not accept flac. (Guess it wasn't such a long story.)
I would like to request that you guys add support for two more speakers in the "5.1" surround sound setup. As big as the PlayBase is, it's still effectively doing mono output. I would like to be able to spread the frontal stereo image wider with a couple of satellite Ones/Play:1s speakers becoming the left and right channels while the PlayBase becomes the center channel. Also, you should take this a step further and integrate 2 more satellites for a 7.1 system with two speakers on either side of the listener sweet spot. P.S. Please add DTS support.
Just wanted to say how impressed I am with sonos after sales support. It is second to none. I split the shroud on my play 5 power cord where it plugs into the back of the speaker. I chatted with the online tech support, simply to ask where I could get one in Australia. My address was asked, and a replacement. Cable was sent, no questions asked and completely free of charge. So impressed. Love my sonos system!!
does connect:amp supports B&W CM1 S2? Currently i'm using Rotel RC series system in my lounge but i want to convert all my music to digital format and get rid of multi unit system. Waiting for your response and support. Cheers Fareed
New to connect and trying to figure out how to connect all of this stuff. I have a functioning Sonos system wit 3 Play 1's and 1 Play 3. I just acquired a Definitive Sounbvar, Martin Logan wireless Sub and a connect. Trying to make them all work together. Any help would be much appreciated!!
Hi. Quick question: is it possible to use the Connect as a streamer only and bypass the DAC? Thanks
Just set up my new Connect-Amp and as I've got loads of CDs I am looking for a small, stand alone, CD player to connect to. Similar proportions to the Amp would be good. Thanks.
every time i try to connect to my play 5 it keeps giving me the same error saying "an unexpected error occured. try again." please
Hi, I am looking at a 2 year old sonos sub on eBay which is described as in new condition. Before I bid I want to know if there has been a change of model since the sub was launched because I want to purchase the most up to date model.
I have a Marantz NR 1604 Receiver. The TV is connected through the HDMI output, Direct TV box and DVD through HDMI inputs, and my phono preamp through the CD audio inputs. What should I use to connect my Sonos Connect to the receiver?
Hello all! I purchased a Sonos Playbase and Connect. I have hooked my Linn Sondek Turntable into a Little Bear T8 preamp through the MC ports then into my Sonos Connect live in port. I am getting a VERY low sound and quality. Can anyone please help me?
Hi, In the same physical room, I have two Sonos "rooms": a TV room with a playbar, a Sub and two play:1 acting as surround speakers, and a "music" room wtih two play:5. Now, I realized that the play:5s sound much better when used in conjunction with a Sub, so I'm trying to share the same Sub between my "music" room and my "TV" room. Unfortunately, the only way I found to achieve that is by removing the Sub from one room and adding it to the other, which is painful, slow and also forces me to redo all optimizations. Is there any way the same Sub can be shared between two rooms? Sonos, could you add this to the wishlist? :) Thanks, David
Add Sub to more than one group. Sub is located between two rooms/groups.
What functionality does this feature provide when enabled?
I have a Connect that I have been using for many years to allow me to use my Turntable. The turntable is connected, via a pre-amp, to the analog line-in of the Connect and this set up works brilliantly. Recently I purchased a sound bar for under my TV. So that I could include this as part of my Sonos network I hooked up the sound bar to the Connect to the analog line-out of the Connect. This worked fine for a couple of weeks but now the audio keeps dropping out. It is mostly random but the sound bar will get a signal for about 5 to 10 seconds then it will drop out for a while and then come back again for another few seconds. No amount of playing with the connections will get it to maintain a signal. I have checked the cable in multiple ways. First I switched it over to the analog line-in and connected my phone to the other end and was able to play music without problem around the network. Then I tried another cable and connected my phone to the sound bar and again was able to play m
I found a person in my area selling a used Sonos Sub. He says it was purchased a month ago and it looks new from the outside. However, he no longer has the receipt. Will I still be covered by warranty if I buy this from him? I have a playbar already and been looking for a cost effective way to get my hands on a Sonos Sub.
