What functionality does this feature provide when enabled?

I have a Connect that I have been using for many years to allow me to use my Turntable. The turntable is connected, via a pre-amp, to the analog line-in of the Connect and this set up works brilliantly. Recently I purchased a sound bar for under my TV. So that I could include this as part of my Sonos network I hooked up the sound bar to the Connect to the analog line-out of the Connect. This worked fine for a couple of weeks but now the audio keeps dropping out. It is mostly random but the sound bar will get a signal for about 5 to 10 seconds then it will drop out for a while and then come back again for another few seconds. No amount of playing with the connections will get it to maintain a signal. I have checked the cable in multiple ways. First I switched it over to the analog line-in and connected my phone to the other end and was able to play music without problem around the network. I found a person in my area selling a used Sonos Sub. He says it was purchased a month ago and it looks new from the outside. However, he no longer has the receipt. Will I still be covered by warranty if I buy this from him? I have a playbar already and been looking for a cost effective way to get my hands on a Sonos Sub.

Hi. I have a recurring problem with my connect amp. The white light is always intermittent and does not connect to the sonos controller. I got a pair of Polk Audio speakers that I want to connect to the Amp to improve my Sonos sound. Please help! (confirmation number 1039371935)

Has any tried this rig setup? I assume that this would only count as 1 zone within the sonos ecosystem?

I want to set up my Play 5 in my condo that only has wifi for the building. I have no access to a wired connection. Would I use a wireless router to create my own wireless network? How do I do that without access to the wired internet connection?

I am holding fire on buying a Sonos Playbar because I am waiting for the Playbar to be supplied in white. When is this likely to happen in the UK? So far, I have purchased IN WHITE the unit that connects to the internet, a PLAY 1 and a PLAY 5. How come I cannot find a white Playbar? Awaiting your kind advice.

Hello, Brand new user here. Just bought a Connect and a One and so far I'm impressed with the overall experience of setup. The Sonos ONE sounds amazing on its own. However, I'm less impressed with the sound I'm getting from my Connect + Onkyo Receiver + B&W S3 speakers. It sounds very flat and very little bass when playing music through the Connect. Previously I was playing music w/ Pandora via Apple TV connected directly to the receiver and the sound was great. When playing through Sonos app + Connect, sound isn't nearly as "rich" I've connected the Connect via an optical cable going from the Connect to the Optical "IN" on the Onkyo. Is there something else I should be doing to ensure I'm getting the best sound I can from these speakers? Thanks!

can I hook 2 pair (4 speakers ) of Bose 31763 Free Space 51 Outdoor In-Ground Speakers to one SONOS connect Amp or do I need to buy two separate connect amps? The speaker wires would range from 50-100 foot long

How do I connect a Sonos Connect to a receiver so that I can listen to CDs on my Play 1 speakers? I’ve connected the audio out on the Connect to the CD audio in on the receiver - nothing plays. I’ve hooked it up to the Tape audio in on the receiver, tuned the receiver to Tape, again nothing happens. As best I can tell, the Connect was successfully hooked up through the Sonos app at the beginning of this process which, I assume, means Connect and Play 1 speakers will work together once I get receiver hooked up appropriately. Some new hi-fi integrated amps lack Tape/Rec Out or Line Outputs, and I want to connect the amp to Sonos Connect in order to send Phono/CD/TV audio to wireless Multi-room speakers. The turntable has no internal preamp so can't be connected directly, and it would be nice to run Amp output to the Connect to enable selection of any source. Can I use Pre-Out or Headphone signal into Sonos Connect, or is signal strength way off? Thanks....

Does anyone have experience / knowledge of connecting 3 pairs of speaker to one Sonos Amp? Sonos say 2 pairs is fine but suggeste that the community would know more about 3 pairs. Thanks

Hello, I recently purchased a record player (with built in amp) and a sonos connect so that I could play vinyl through my sonos set up. That works like a charm, but I’d like to boost the sound in a room that doesn’t have a sonos speaker (yet) and I wondered if I could hook up an amp to the current set up so that music plays through both the sonos speakers and the standalone amp/speaker set up simultaneously? I’ve played around a bit, but had no luck getting sound to both sonos and the standalone speakers. Anyone able to help? Thanks in advance.

I have been a member of the community for many years but had to re-register when I lost access to an email account. The registration page asks you to tick the Sonos products you have from a list, but does not include any Zone or controller products e.g. ZP100, ZP90, Zonebridge, CR100 etc.. Why is this? Is this an indication that Sonos is going to continue the trend it started with the CR100 and spike all of these products such that they no longer work? I cannot think of any other explanation and it would certainly be in character to try to force earlier customers to purchase new hardware.

I already have a Sonos Connect, and is searching for a pair of active (amplified) in ceiling speakers to save me from buying a Sonos Connect AMP. I have found some relatively cheap and recommended bluetooth ceiling speakers, and would like to find out if these could be compatible with the Sonos Connect without any additional needs. The Bluetooth option itself is not a required option, it is more the solution of having the ability to integrate the ceiling speakers with the Sonos Connect which is the goal. 1. Pyle PDICBT852RD This is a 2-way 8" bluetooth ceiling speaker sold in a pair, whereas 1 speaker is active and 1 is passive. It is also said to be compatible with home theather (i.e. possible to integrate). Then it also should be possible to connect the speakers to Sonos Connect? 2.Monocor SPE-230BT Same as above, this is said to be an active in ceiling speaker sold in pair, whereas 1 is active and 1 is passive.

If I have a record player plugged into a decent amp then into the Connect do I get a better sound quality than if I plugged the record player straight into the Connect. Or does the amp built into the sonos speaker take priority over whatever is plugged into it. ie if I had a super duper amp would it be a waste plugging that into the connect or should I just get a cheapo amp. I will also drive a cd player and airport express and an arcam miniblink for bluetooth through the amp into the Connect. Is there a cap at which it makes no difference what kind of amp you have running all those bits through as the Sonos PLay 5 amp will max out and only play sound quality of a certain level.

Are there any wi-fi enabled amps that are sonos compatible, i.e that don’t require a Connect to wirelessly speak to a speaker?

Boy, would I sure like Sonos capable headphones! Sure, I could setup a Connect and a headphone amp or some wireless headphone set, but I'd like to wear them around the house in a range no wireless or cable would reach. It can't be that tough to build a set of wireless SONOS headphones.

I've got some older Sonos gear (4 ZP100s + 2 CR100s) that is working fine, but I'd love to upgrade to newer stuff. Does Sonos (or any retailer) have any kind of trade-in program for older units? Or am I stuck trying to sell it on CL/Ebay or recycling it?

I have a Sonos Sub, a Sonos bar, a Sonos connect. I also have a Marantz HD-CD1 connected to a Marantz HD-Amp. I want to connect all so I can listen my Marantz system using my Sonos speakers. Is this possible?

I'm not even sure what I'm trying to do is possible. Since I'm asking the question, I obviously haven't been able to make it work. I want to play my turntable connected to my stereo. I have connected an Airport Express to the receiver. I have set the airport up as an extended network. I want my Sonos to recognize that network and play wirelessly. Is this possible?

I have my Connect running to my Yamaha receiver and pushing Martin Logan fronts and center. I have an extra optical cable and an RCA (red/white). Do you guys have thoughts on what will produce the best quality sound? As a sidenote, I'm also needing the cable that will provide the quickest signal...as has been covered before, I can only use my Connect in DIRECT mode when playing my Ones in conjunction with my main system that is using the Connect. Otherwise there is a small but noticeable delay.

Can I use a Sonos Boost to extend the range of my Sonos Net but without it being the component that is connected directly to the router? I have a Sonos Connect attached to the router near the front of the house and want to extend the signal to a Play5 at the end of the garden. If I place a Sonos Boost at the back of the house (halfway between the Sonos Connect and the Play5), will it work?
