Advanced setups

First, thanks again to all the folks that have helped me in the past.  I’m looking to re-group after hours spent trying different things.  I will try to provide all the detail I can and apologies for length.  I built a house about 4 years ago.  The a/v guy I hired introduced me to Sonos and I bought a lot of new equipment.   I have a media cabinet in the first floor where he ran a bunch of wired speakers to different Connect Amps for different locations. I have a Unifi set up with a managed switch in that same closet.  Also in that same closet is a Unifi access point.  In total I have:-7 Connect Amps (6 of them in that same closet; 1 is in a garage feeding some outdoor wired speakers)-2 Playbars-9 Sonos One Speakers-3 Sonos Sub-woofersWe have a house that is about 6k to 6,500 square feet.  Three levels.  Outdoor area we are trying to cover.  We live almost smack dab in the middle of 150 acres.  No one around us, so no outside interference.

Just hung a Samsung Terrace 55 inch outdoor TV.  Need advice on the best way to connect sound output to my outdoor sonos ceiling speakers with the least number of wires or accessories.  The TV is very far from my Sonos Amp.  Hoping there is a way to do it via WiFi.

Hi all,i Have recently added the Sonos Port and a Project T1 turntable to my living room setup consisting on an ARC/SUB GEN 3/ and 2 Sonos rears, I was wondering is there is anyway i can link any played music on Sonos system in living room to my REVO SUPERCONNECT bluetooth radio in my kitchen?would be wonderful to have the same music in both rooms.many thanks for all/any replies!

Seemingly a common question, but inconsistent answers out there. I have a traditional stereo set-up: amp, wired speakers, wired subwoofer, wired turntable. Question is: can I add, in the same room, two ERA300’s and have everything play in sync? Or will the sound from the Sonos speakers inevitably be delayed? If it is possible to sync it all, what hardware to I need? (Current amp is a Cambridge CXA81 with fairly robust connection options.)  Thanks.

There were problems earlier this year with Wifi Mesh networks running in parallel with Sonos. Are these solved in general? Does anyone have experience with running Asus ZenWifi AX XT8 and Sonos?

I recently setup a WiFi extender and after much troubleshooting, I managed to group my Sonos Move with my Sonos Arc setup (connected to router via ethernet cable), which uses a pair of Era 300s as surrounds. Earlier, I wasn’t able to group them due to the error message saying that a speaker needing to be connected to the router despite the Arc being connected to the router. I didn’t know this was an issue with extenders but my WiFi doesn’t quite extend throughout the whole house so I was hoping it would help with slow/spotty internet.Anyway, I am hoping I don’t have anymore issues with grouping my Sonos speakers despite the extender but I am hoping someone can clarify/confirm I shouldn’t because the Arc is connected to the router.(In the future, I might want to extend my set to include an Era 100, for example. I’m also hoping I won’t have issues with the Move again.)If this might become a problem I need to worry about then I would assume I should drop the

We bought recliners that and speakers in them. They have an AUX port. We want to sync them with our Sonos Arc, play one, sub surround sound. Is there a way?

Bridge no longer attached/ unplugged but still shows in S2 app. I've reset and moved 2 gen 1 5s to s1 app and that app works. but can't get rid  and can't update s2 b/c bridge still listed . Uninstalled and reinstalled app But still pulls old data. How completely reset and reinstall s2 app b/c keeps using old info? Only s2 device is arc sl + sub. 

My sub continues to disconnect. I can add the sub, it connects, and then 5 seconds after I start streaming music it disconnects. This happens continuously. Here’s my setup.I have 8 Sonos amps I have 1 sub The sub is connected to one of the amps none of my Sonos devices are ethernet wired, they are all running on wifiNetwork setupI have 1 router (Netgear PR60X) and 3 wifi access points (WAX630E)Sonos support responseThey keep telling me that the issue is that the sub and amp need to be 15 feet from each other to work implying the devices are speaking directly to each other which I assume is not correct. My hypothesis is that their suggested close proximity is to mitigate the risk of the devices perhaps connecting through different access points. My 2017 Samsung TV uses HDMI ARC for my Beam. For my hearing aids I used a Sigma Streamline BT hearing aid transmitter (connected to TV optical out) worked flawlessly together for years--audio from both Beam and Sigma hearing aids.Then the VA replaced my hearing aids with Phonak ones and provided me with a Phonak Connect transmitter that is connected to same TV optical out port. Now when I turn everything on I get the TV sound but 2 sec later Any-net+ disconnects the sound (regardless of which source I select).What is really odd, is that when working with the old Streamline transmiter as before, the optical output wasn’t even selected when in use. In the Samsung TV settings, the sound setting selected used was “Receiver (HDMI)”.These are the current TV settings:Sound/Select speaker=Receiver (HDMI)Sound/ Expert settings/HDMI Audio Format = PCMSound/ Expert settings/Audio Format = PCMSystem/Expert Settings/AnyNet + (HDMI-CEC) = ON

Good day to all. I currently have a Sonos Arc connected to 2 Sonos Sub gen 3's and 2 Sonos Five's that are set up in my living room. All speakers/subs face the front of the couch. In addition I have 2 Sonos One SL's set up behind the couch for a full and immersive sound experience.  In the 4+ years I've owned the Arc, Five's, and Sub's I've never had a single issue with them. The SL's on the other hand seem to go out every 4 days, 2 weeks, and on occasion they'll last for months. I have to reboot my router and reset the SL's every time. This is not only for the 2 downstairs but the 3 additional SL's upstairs as well. (For context 1 SL upstairs is paired with a Sonos One with Alexa, the other 2 SL's are paired together on the other side of the beedroom) All devices are connected to a Netgear Nighthawk MR80 WiFi mesh system with 2 satellite's. One satellite is in the bedroom with the 4 upstairs speakers and the other satellite is in the office

I can’t use the app if I don’t join the current account linked to the network I’m trying to connect to.Why is my app forcing me to connect to an existing email address on the network when I want to set up a different system in my room so no one can control my music (unless they have the password to my email address of course). For context, my mum has 5 speakers around the house. I’d like my own speaker to act separately to hers. Every time I reset the app, because I’m connected to the same wifi, it forces me to join my mums account. How can I do my own thing, with my own speaker, but on the same network? Any help would be hugely appreciated as currently my speaker has been in a cupboard for 8 months as I’m failing every time I give it shot.

Thinking about generating more sound pressure level, and hopefully, keeping the sound more “room filling”, in a room about 35 feet long, and about 18 feet wide could I benefit from using 3 pairs of Fives?Currently I have two pairs of Fives along with two Sub Gen 3 and an Arc. I will within 6 months or so be moving into the room that I just described and my vision was to have the third pair of Fives deployed in the center of the room, but I am wondering about the usefulness of doing this? So assuming that when I really wanted a very immersive listening session, if I sat in the middle of this room would I now just have issues with timing? Clearly the speakers closest to me would be the third pair of Fives. I could theoretically put them in another room so that I had a separate volume slider, and I could make them slightly more quiet to blend in with the other speakers more, but would this actually work?Sorry for the odd question. My Sonos system used to work with Plex.  I had the Plex software installed on a Synology DS218+ running DSM 6.  I am using Plex for one reason only - to give Sonos access to my entire music collection.  I have some of my music in my Sonos library and the remainder in my PlexMusic library to access on Sonos via Plex.Two weeks ago Synology suggested that I update from DSM 6 To DSM 7. I installed DSM 7.  My current installation is:  Version: 7.1.1-42962 Update 6 After the installation of DSM 7 Sonos stopped working with Plex. I deleted Plex and tried a clean install. I created a Directory on the Synology titled PlexMusic to store my music files.  I put excess files that Sonos can’t see there. I verified that Plex is able to see this library which it has scanned and indexed .  I can view the library in the Plex app running on the Synology. I removed and added Plex back as a Music Source in Sonos. Plex does not wo

After using an Orbi mesh network along with a Sonos network with a collection of both wired and wireless connections FOR YEARS, as of December 2023, my Sonos system informs me that I’m an idiot. Well, not exactly, but suddenly I can not use the Sonos network - not one component, not one attempt at using the “let’s fix it” prompt has worked after maybe 15+ attempts with unplugging & resetting Sonos components as well as Orbi routers, and even my Verizon modem (which has never been used as a router in my setup).I had updated my Orbi routers to the RBRE960 version from my older RBR50 system back in September 2023 - and not one hint of a problem since then.I am at my wit’s end as to how to correct this - tried to connect to both my primary Orbi network as well as the IoT “sub” network broadcast by Orbi.  Neither will connect.I have 50+ smart devices connected to this Orbi network, both wired and wireless, and cannot figure out why, after months of the new

I set my Left Play 1 (wireless) on top of my Sub (wireless).  They are part of my home entertainment system that also includes a Right Play 1 (wireless) and Playbar (ethernet).  The Left Play 1 and Sub sitting together will work for a short period of time and then they go offline / not connected in the app.  In the past, I had alot of separation between the two and they worked fine.  Also, the Right Play 1 and Playbar stay online without issue.   Therefore, I have to assume that because I have the Left Play 1 sitting on top of the Sub, they are too close together and causing them to go offline. I really like the Left Play 1 sitting on the Sub in my new smaller space.  Is there a solution to keep them from interfering with one another?   Or do I need to move them further apart and if so, how much distance is required?  (Note, I’m not able to ethernet either one in my current set up, both would have to stay wireless).Thanks for any advice! 

Hi everybody,I appreciate any input and help!Can I safely connect both Sonance SGS 8.1 Garden series and a pair of VPXT6 speakers to a Sonos Amp? I also have a Sonance SR 2-125. Would it be a better option to connect both Sonance SGS 8.1 Garden series and a pair of Sonance VPXT6 to SR 2-125 Amp and then to a Sonos Amp for streaming ( I already have the Sonos Amp, so I thought I can use it instead of spending money on a Sonos Port for streaming)?

I wanted to set up my Move speakers at a friend’s house so he could hear how they sound before considering an upgrade.  We tried a lot of things and failed.  Various error messages which I cannot put into proper context at this point since we tried so many things.  Mainly, though, neither of us was able to connect the Move speakers to his system through the Add Product option.Here’s my scenario:2 Sonos Move speakers He has S1 app and some speakers only S1 compatible. I have S2 app. His app runs on his iPhone, mine on Android (Samsung Galaxy S10) He has a google mesh network, I have a 5ghz Synology router at my home My app greyed out the System menu at his house so I was unable to add his network as trusted by meI was able to see the speakers in my app but it was unable to connect them successfully.  At one point in one of our trials it was suggested that I downgrade my app to S1 because of the other speakers present

Do I run any problems if I plan to get Sonos Arc and Sub (gen3) and connect them in Unifi network like this:Arc wired to Unifi Switch Lite 8 and then connect sub wirelessly to Arc. In my understanding this should not create any network problems because sub won’t connect my wifi, it connects directly to Arc? Also no rstp or stp network setting changes are required? Or is it better to connect Arc via wifi to network and then connect sub wirelessly to Arc or connect both via ethernet to network?

I have read some discussions of this, but I am confused. I understand that when you set up Amp with wired speakers as back surround speakers that you cannot access line-in for a turntable. I’m trying to figure out if there is a work around for that. Like setting up 2 different rooms (even though they are in the same room) and somehow toggling between the set-up that I want for movies using my wired back speakers (which is most of the time) and the set-up needed to listen to a turntable.
