I have an existing Sonos setup with about a dozen devices. I’m trying to set up a second Sonos system in a different home. For convenience, I’m using the same SSID in both homes. Will that cause an issue, like preventing the devices from being properly assigned to one home vs. the other? Or should it be totally fine? I can definitely rename the SSID in the second home if necessary, but I would prefer not to if it’s not an issue.

It should be totally fine. The controller is merely a remote control, it will connect to the existing system, and the speakers that are associated with it.
