What speaker by itself sounds better? Move or Play3? Noticeable difference? I'm assuming two play 3’s would sound better than a single Move? Thanks!
I have had two fives, for a while, and decided to take the plunge and add the sub as well. Just got it today and after placing it between the two stereo fives and doing a trueplay session, I tried different music types to test what benefits you get. I found out that value depends vastly on music choice. Basically, you need recordings that actually have those very low frequencies in them. Not only electronic but also “analogue” jazz and classic work well if there are “base” instruments. Also, when listening at low volume, the sub helps lift those low frequencies without having to turn up the volume. Try e.g. Billie Eilish’s “Your Power” for a better experience with the sub. What music do you think works well with a sub and two stereo fives?
For my future basement renovations i’m thinking if I have left over budget in the project to buy some in-celling speakers and in-wall speakers but, I like the aesthetics of the in-celling speakers better so will the sound be compromised and not being tuned correctly beacuse they were designed differently verses in-wall + in-celling speakers? I could have all the speakers be celling but people say that sounds less room-filling than having celling and wall speakers. My current plan is to have a pair in-celling, pair in-wall, and a sonos beam.
Considering upgrading my system from S1 to S2 but slightly nervous that no sooner have I done so but Sonos will release S3 products that are not backwards compatible with S2 products. Does anyone have any thoughts or insight into whether such a release will happen, and if so how far into the future. S2 was released I think about 10 years after S1 so by that logic we are not far off an S3 release. If there is a future new gen on the horizon I'll hold off from upgrading now.
I have an LG OLED55CXPUA TV and I'm using the Beam as my audio device. It works perfectly thru the ARC HDMI port of my TV. However, I want to extract either optical or analog audio using a HDMI Audio extractor and feed the HDMI thru to the Beam. However I can't get any audio thru to the Beam or out of the optical or analog outputs. Does anyone know a brand or model of an extractor that will work? thks/Roger
I’m designing a new apartment and figuring out the best Sonos setup. I do have a bunch of products but want to do it right. Whats ideal setup for each room?To use wireless only? Or a mixture of wired and wireless? Thanks
I have just purchased Sonos beam gen 2 and i was wondering what speakers i should add for the best performance
I just got myself a new Sub (gen 3) and I use it with 2 x Play:3 paired as stereo. Wow! What a difference the Sub makes!I am now considering to replace the two Play:3 with two new Sonos Five (gen 2).Question is: Is it worth the investment? Will two Sonos Five instead of Play:3 significantly improve the experience?
Hi all, I’m currently setting up my Sonos system and would appreciate your views on the best streaming apps to use. My understanding is that if you want 24-bit streaming, the options are Amazon Music Unlimited Ultra HD and Qobuz. Other services like tidal offer lossless 16-bit (CD quality). Any suggestions as to what’s the best route, including whether I’ll even be able to tell the difference between 24-bit/16-bit lossless/standard streaming? Many thanks, Justin
Is there a Sonos device that i can use with my existing (passive) speakers AND add a wireless sub..?
My kid has X-Box and PS5. Will they both play through the Sonos immersive Beam that I am going to order for my new LG TV?
Hello all! I have a Bose and some JBL speakers that I would like to include in my new Sonos set up I am ordering. Is that possible? Thank you!
HelloI am an owner of the old gen Play 3 and Play 5 speakers and thinking about upgrading to a home entertainment system with surround sound in my new home.Wondering what the best configuration would be for a relatively small room? Livingroom is basic rectangle shape with patio doors, dimension 5.7x3.7m approx. In the process of getting a media unit built above a fireplace so TV and sound bar would be mounted (similar to attached picture - note this is not my livingroom!). Have space for a 60-65” TV.Would my room be big enough for the complete Arc, sub woofer and 2x Sonos 1s? Or is this overkill? Also - would the Arc sound quality be compromised by mounting it as shown in the pic? Sounds like positioning is a key factor in sound quality.Apologies for the basic questions - relatively new to TV sound systems and want to optimize it as best I can
I’m looking for a new set up in my living room. It’s quite large at around 7.5m x 4.5m I already own the following;x2 gen 1 subsx1 playbar x2 play 3s x2 ones x1 play 5 the playbar and sub will be moved into the master bedroom now, the x1 ones will go into the kitchen. For the new living room I was thinking… The play 3s mounting up each corner of the living room as surrounds and buying a new gen3 sub and having two subs in the living room. (I’ve read you can link a gen 1 and gen 3 sub together) buying a Sonos arc as my new playbar and then buying a new Sonos 5 and having both the play 5s in the living room to for music listening (I’ve read you can link and gen 2 and gen 3 play 5 also) would people approve of this set up for a living room of this size …
I received a Sonos Roam for the holidays. Upon setting up, the device was malfunctioning. I contacted support who guided me through the exchange process. i received the email stating I would get another email from a logistics partner giving me the return shipping label to get the product back to Sonos for exchange. It took contacting Sonos support 5 times to actually get the shipping label. When I finally received my replacement Roam, the new one that they sent was also defective. Doing a little research, it seems that the Sonos Roam is NOT a reliable product as many many people have had to return it for the same reason. I first contacted Sonos support to exchange the defective Roam on 1/7/22. Since then, I have been told FIVE different times by s support agent through chat that my return shipping label would be to me by the end of the day. All FIVE times, the label did not arrive. Currently, in another tab, I am waiting in line to, once again, complain that I do not have a shipping la
So, I’m having an extension built and I’m looking for a good quality music system to have integrated. I’m looking at the Sonos Architectural. Just want to know how it works and if it’s worth the money.TIA
Hello, I have a Mastercard gift card that I would like to use in addition to a Visa credit card to purchase a Sonos Move, however there is no option to do so online. Can I call in the order and pay using the 2 cards?
Hello and Merry Christmas. Is this combination possible? Because i found a used set at good price and i want to make a surroound set. Thanks.
Is the new arc worth the money?
Hello everyone, I have a Beam 2 soundbar with a 4K neo Qled TV. When I watch Netflix, I am told many movies with the Atmos logo. On the other hand, when I read the film I see that on the application I am in: PCM MULTICANAL DOLBY 5.1. I tried with several movies and the only one where I see Dolby ATMOS appear in the sonos application is for the series The WITCHER. I don't understand what the problem is.. can you help me please 🙂🙂
I have a Connect:Amp that shows a 30% discount available through the Upgrade program. I want to use this offer to purchase an Arc (£899-£629). However, upon adding this to my basket- where it appears to cost the discounted price of £629- a discount of only roughly 15% is applied to my basket. It is the only product in my basket and I see no reason as to why only a 15% discount is applied when it says i’m eligible for a 30% discount. Any suggestions as to why this isn’t available?
hi everyoneover Christmas I manages to get a playbar and two play 1s for under £500. when I got them home [I couldn't get the surround sound to work with my tv 40” Samsung (old) it dod have an optical out but would not sent the rear speakers (2 play 1’s) individual channel output. Can someone reccomentd a deep tv I cn pick up second hand on Ebay. Also is there a way to hook up a cheep sub to the above. thanks B
Hi,My first post…I’m thinking of installing my first Sonos components and would appreciate some advice from the group:I have a large open-plan living space (approx. 11M x3.5M) with anLG TV towards one end on the side wall. I’m think of adding a Beam (Gen2) soundbar to the TV (so pointing across the room) and then a ‘HiFi’ at the far end firing down the whole length of the 11M room. The sound stage of the TV and HiFi would therefore be at right angles to each other and would not be operated at the same time. For the Hifi set up, I’m thinking of using a Sonus Amp connected to an existing pair of quality speakers and Sub.My primary use of this system would be using the Beam when watching TV and the Amp when listening to music. I will need the power of the AMP to fill the room. The main music sources will be Spotify, Internet Radio and occasionally a turntable or CD (I appreciate the AMP only has one pair of phono connectors to share between turntable and CD).In addition to the TV remote, I
Hi guys, looking for some help….I currently have the beam 2 paired to a sonos amp which is powering two rear ceiling integrated speakers (not sonance), I am considering purchasing a sub to make it a 5.1 setup. Is there a way I can use the two ceiling speakers powered by the amp as height channels for dolby atmos, to create a 5.1.2 setup, as they are currently setup as LS & RS?Second question I like the idea of changing the beam for the arc, and using the beam elsewhere, the issue I have is it would be on a shelf within my tv cabinet below the tv. Currently works fine with the beam as that has forward facing speakers, but my obvious concern is whether the upfiring and side firing speakers on the arc would ruin the sound being within a cabinet? There is plenty of space to accommodate the arc with sufficient room around it, and the front of the cabinet is covered by a speaker mesh grill…here it is for reference https://www.optimumproject.co.uk/products/pro1300f ..would trueplay for in
