What to get

Hello Sonos,I am looking for some advice.Living/living space 11m wide approx 7m deepI have a stereo/surround set that I want to replace. It is a 5.1set, so 2 front, 2 back, 1 middle and a subwoofer. Back+front+Middle speakers same size.I mostly use in stereo mode and can then have the back speakers also play along as so called 5 channel stereo. Surround very occasionally used.Can you advise me what to purchase. I am thinking about:2 x FIVE as front2 x Move as back (already have 1 and then handy to take along)1 x Sub1 x ARCFor stereo modeThen you use the 2xFive+SUB+2xMovesIn home theaterThen you use the SUB+ARC+2xMove as the back.Is this possible?Or is this "to much" Is it easy to switch from stereo set to surround set without going through all the settings each time?Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

Is anyone in the know able to shed some light on this issue for me, as sonos support have been no help. I have an eligible product in my sonos system , that has meant I am eligible for the 30% discount under the upgrade programme. I was testing out my basket to see which items I could apply the discount to. On first attempt the discount from the upgrade programme seemed to auto apply. However I then emptied my cart. Since then the discount is not auto applying and I cannot see a discount code on my upgrade page. Even though it says the product is eligible and the discount is activated.Has anyone else experienced this issue please? Sonos support have been no help and just keep telling me they don’t know why it isn’t auto applying. Thanks is advance.

Hi,Purchased my sound system ~1 mo ago: Arc + 2 x Sonos One 2nd gen surrounds.Well of course they announced the Era 300.  Ok, no matter I’ll get a 30% discount.Hmm 15%, okBut actually I’m not seeing any upgrade discount for Sonos One G2.  (I do see for G1)..Jean

I Like to buy a Beam gen 1. But can I connect my One & One SL, and if so can I use them both as home cinema system as in just listening to my music?  Im sort of on budget, that’s why I’m thinking bout buying a refurbished Beam but it’s a gen 1.  Or would it be better to just buy a new Ray. (My apartment is only 50m2).  Hope someone can advice me.Thank you 

Hi - thank you in advance for your help.  New to this so really looking for the expertise of the group.  We are adding a kitchen addition and covered outdoor deck to our home.  The electrician suggested 2 Sonos ceiling speakers for each area. He also suggested 2 Sonos receivers (I’m guessing he is referring to the amplifiers?). My questions:does this equipment sound correct?  Why would we need 2 receivers? if we purchased just 1 receiver and 4 ceiling speakers, do we have the option of turning the deck ones off if we are not out there? Can we listen to 2 different sources in the 2 different areas at the same time (parents mysic on kitchen, kids music on deck?) can we add additional stand alone Sonos speakers in the future for the living room for example or out in the yard?thank you very much!  Very excited about this 

Hi, which of these is better for just music?Sub mini + Beam Gen2 + 2x Era 100 as surround rear speakers. Sub mini + Beam Gen2 + 2x Era 300 as surround rear speakers. 2x Era 300 as stereo pair. 2x Era 100 as stereo pair.At the moment I am using number one from the above list and I am happy with the spatial audio but wondering if option 3 would be as good or better or the same?Also have read that some say 2x Era 100 as a stereo pair is pretty good, but without the spatial audio effect of course.

I am setting up audio in my office mostly listen to Jazz in that space, it is a small room 120 sq feet. For about the same price I can put 2 era 300’s or 2 100’s with a submini. I was thinking the 100’s with the submini would free the 100’s to do what they do best and the submini will fill bottom end? I dont really like the way spatial audio sounds on a lot of tracks so that is less of a concern for me. Thoughts? 

I currently have an arc,gen3 sub,and play 1’s as surrounds. I plan to move the play1’s to the bedroom for music and I had planned to buy the era 300 for surround replacement. After hearing that the front driver is not working when in surround mode I am thinking of bypassing on those speakers. Now I am thinking about the era 100 for surround speakers. I listen to music around 20% of the time with my current setup and it sounds good but with the 300’s I am reading that music doesn’t sound good unless you’re listening to atmos music. So I was thinking that if it doesn’t sound that good with regular stereo music then it might not sound good for movies that aren’t Dolby Atmos. In fact with non Dolby atmos movies two of the drivers wouldn’t be working (front and upfiring)? That’s why I was thinking I should buy a pair of era 100’s for surrounds. All the drivers would be activated 100% of the time. I realize I wouldn’t be enveloped in a spatial sound bubble when playing Dolby atmos material b

Having researched easy to use setups for my technology challenged parents, I think the Sonos “Immersive Set with Beam” (includes Beam Gen2, Sub Mini, Era 100 x2) might be the best solution for both watching TV & listening to music.  However, I don’t have personal experience with Sonos components, so appreciate any help or insights you might share.I’m assuming setting up / configuring the audio for TV watching will be very simple using the Sonos app (I’ll do this for them).  But I’m unsure about whether the configuration should (or can) change for listening to music (ie disabling the sound bar).  Again, given that my parents are not tech savvy, any configuration / mode change (TV <-> Music) would need to be extremely simple…preferably using universal remote instead of Sonos app.CONFIGURATION (planned, haven’t purchased yet):Television HDMI Arc or eArc to power on/off and volume control the speakers. Prefer to avoid using A/V receiver, instead using TV’s HDMI Arc functionality.

I am getting an Audio-Technica turntable as a gift and could use some guidance on how best to connect it to my current Sonos speakers. It will be this model, AT-LP3XBT which has line out capabilities.I currently own two Play:1 speakers. I gather I could buy a Port (or I guess a not-ancient Connect?) for the turntable to connect it to my Plays, but could I alternatively just get an Era 100 and use that to beef up my sound and also broadcast to the Plays? Or are the Plays so old that they need the Port no matter what to get connected?I won’t have any passive non-Sonos speakers in the mix so...it’s not much to work with otherwise. Thank you!  

I have like 500 CD’s some of which can’t be found on any streaming services… I would like to download them to ??? and to play them with my sonos system… how can I do this? What is the best software and best way to do this…. I am an apple device user at the moment…. but if a windows computer is better for this please let me know….any help would be appreciated… it doesn’t seem to work well with Apple Music software because the cd’s I’m referring to aren’t being streamed… thanksi

Hi last year I bought the surround sound set for my living room and I now want to be able to play vinyl, I know I need the turntable but do I need the PORT or the amp ?

For home theatre surround sound. I currently have the arc and 2 subs…. i just bought the sub today on my way to work, i have yet to install it… i have an open layout… living room and kitchen is all open space, pretty big space… ill put up pictures later so u can have a better idea… im having trouble on where to place the 2 back speakers though, i dont want stands and my only option i feel is towards the back walls that face the tv… my concern is that they might be too far back and i wont achieve the proper sound.Idk if i should get the fives or the 300s though.... i asked the employee at best buy and he didnt hesitate to say the 5s… when i researched ive seen mostly pictures of people having the 300s in their recent purchases for surround sound, so now im conflicted. What do u guys recommend?

Sorry I am new to the world of Sonos.. just bought a house that has a compete sinks system.   I want to input sound from a firestick.  What I thought I would do is get a hdmi splitter that outputs a RC cables.  Then purchase a Sonos PORT which then would allow that sound to be broadcast on all the other sonos speakers . Is this correct ??

Hey Everyone! I’m not sure if I should get the Arc or Beam for my set up. I know that Arc is the better speaker, but not sure it is the better choice for where it will be placed. See the photo of the shelf below. The shelf will only allow for 3 inches of space on the ends of the Arc and 2 inches of space above it. Since Arc has speakers on the top and sides, I’m not sure if the Beam would perform better for this situation. What do you think is the better choice for this set up?  

Not sure which would be the better choice. Ray would be centered directly behind me while I'm doing dishes and cooking. One would be up higher on top of the refrigerator off to the left behind me but it can easily be turned. There's a sub in the living behind  partial wall with beam and 2 ones behind me, however the sub is the only speaker that has a direct line of sight to the kitchen. I get ok indirect music into the area but would really like to add music directly in that space. No good way to put a speaker or two speakers by the sink and stove. The only room in my house without Sonos. No good space to put two ones or even one of them except on top of the refrigerator.

Hello,I am very satisfied with my pair of Sonos Five, playing music all day long.Now I am thinking to buy a Sonos beam gen 2 to enjoy similar quality of sound with films too. But I read it may affect the quality sound of my music?! The pair of Five would no more be used the way they're now when I am listening to music (some sound would come from the beam 2 and no more from the excellent Five's). Except if switching on the app which seems to be a pain...Is it true?!Thanks   

I am delighted with Sonos, the sound is marvelous, the aesthetic of the products is delightful and the ecosystem works perfectly with what I have, except with one thing.This is where I need your help and your counsel. I actually don't really think that I need to go as far up as to the CEO: What I need is an expert in HiFi.What I have from Sonos:- Beam 2- Sub Mini- Moveall of this connected to our Samsung TVThen I have:- Marantz M-CR610- 2 Passive SpeakersI would like to integrate those 2 passive speakers with or without the Marantz into the Sonos ecosystem, so that we can have surround sound when watching TV and still use it as our HiFi. I have done some research and came across the Sonos Port and the Sonos Amp but both products are rather expensive and I would like to avoid making mistakes and having to return any product.Do you have some ideas or counsel on this?

Hi I have a couple of Play3’s which have served me well. I am looking to add similar in another room . I’m quite happy with the sound from the Play 3’s so what is the best current product match . ? Im thinking ERA 100 or possibly 300 ?Any advice ?

Hi All. I currently have a stereo pair of 8 year old play 1s in the kitchen I want to upgrade. I’m trying to figure out if I was best off replacing them with a pair of Era 100 or a single Era 300. Would be great to hear from people who use a single Era 300. 

I have a five, and we’re putting in a kitchen in a large area. Am I better to get:x2 era 100 and stereo them? x1 era 300 and utilise the dolby sound another 5 because I love it (but it’s quite big!) and stereo them? or is this overkill?I have x2 ones, a sub and an arc set up in the next room as a surround sound system, and a couple of roams that fit in pretty much wherever I need them. The kitchen system will be static and high enough that I won't be using the controls on them. I run IOS from phone or macbook Thanks :)

I’m looking at purchasing the Pro-Ject T1 turntable and would like it to play on my current Sonos system in the home - I have the move, ray, one SL (x3) all grouped.  I see that I can purchase a set, the Pro-Ject T1 turntable and five. the question I have is, if I buy the turntable and the five, will this link into my current system and play across all speakers? the other question is, do I need the five, if not what else would I need to have the turntable play across my current system  thanks in advance   

I’m looking for advice on how i might improve my current system and if indeed changes will improve it.  Not able to finance multiple upgrades so need to do in phases. I’m looking at Phase 1 purchase this Easter, phase 2 next year. i currently have a Sonos amp to wing I’ve connected a Pro-Ject turntable and Terri stand alone 1990’s Polk speakers. These act as the front right and left speakers.  The surround speakers are two Sonos Fives in a vertical position so confused for stereo sound. My question I guess is what can I add to this system to make it really sound better?1: Will adding a Soundbar really make a difference, if so is the Arc the best choice?  2: Is that Preferable to adding a Sonos sub woofer, which one?3: What should i prioritise for phase 1, Soundbar or sub woofer?4: Even though i love the old Polks would the system be better enhanced by replacing them as front speakers with speakers from Sonos? Would i be better served by moving existing Fives to replace Polks and buying
