What to get

Hello, We already own a play 5, and are looking to build to create a fuller sound in our living room and bedroom. Living room is L shaped (with a poor acoustics layout) with our Play 5 currently residing under our TV on the exterior corner of the short L and visible from most anywhere in the room (where I would like to stay), but as the room is 12' x 22' in extreme measurements I find that the Play 5 doesn't fill the space as well as I'd like, would adding a Play 1 in the middle of the long section of the room on the exterior wall help comeplete the fullness or should I knock it up to a Play 3. The bedroom is 9' x 20' would a Play 3 be sufficient in the middle of one of the short walls or should I do a Play 3 and Play 1 combo... Please don't respond with Play bars or anything to pricey, I'm trying to keep this wallet friendly.

I would like to use wired in ceiling speakers to avoid having to power each speaker. What is the best set up to use the sonos app for 12 speakers (3 rooms)? 3 Connect: Amp units?

Just purchased my first Sonos, the Playbase. Happy with sound, but not enough volume for me. What is my best option to increase volume? Which will add most volume; 2 x Play 5's, or SubBase?

I'm just about to buy a Sonos set up. I have 2 TV's I need sound systems for and I need the sub and the songs sound bar kit for both. Can i stream music to one and or both set up or does the sound bar only stream one source? What do people recommend i buy for this sort of situation?

I know that this question has been asked before in other post, but I want to ask for my case specifically. I'm trying to figure out if Sonos is right for me. On the surface it seems like the perfect solution but I'm not sure yet. I have a Pioneer VSX-930 setup with Dali Concept 10 front speaking and a Dali Concept center speaking. The rear speakers are of a cheaper kind and the sub is a also of different make (but I've actually used the system without the sub a year now). I have my PC, PS4 and Xbox One connected to the receiver via HDMI and the receiver is connected to the TV via HDMI (LG 65UF860V). Now, I know that I won't get the same sound quality with the Sonos 5.1 system but I think the benefits will outweigh the negatives, which are streaming, possibility of adding other units to the house, fewer cables and more compact units. Currently renovating my house, while the drywall is off, I figure it's a good time to install some ceiling speakers on the main floor (kitchen, living room, etc.). Trying to decide between 6.5" and 8" speakers, e.g.: https://www.polkaudio.com/products/mc60 https://www.polkaudio.com/products/mc80 Any opinions on the subject? For example, in the living room I was thinking of installing two 6.5" speakers (more diffuse sound), but maybe a single 8" speaker would sound better. Thoughts? ...René

I want to buy a Sonos Play 5 for our home to start a multi room audio network which I also want to use for music at my forthcoming wedding in Poland. However, there is no wifi availability at the wedding venue. Will I be able to take the Sonos Play 5 to use with an Itunes wedding playlist and will I need any other equipment to get this to work? Or will I have to get another system with bluetooth connectivity?

What is best way to add (4 rooms) wireless polk audio speakers (or similar) to existing system? We have several P5 with bridge and love the ability to control separate volumes/music from the app. Its ok if we have just one music selection for these 4 (spa rooms), but I would like to control sound in each. I am considering a Sonos soundbar and have some concerns/questions: Does Optical cabling provide Dolby Digital 5.1? I have an LG OLED B6 55 Inch. Will I have problems with audio drop out when watching TV? I've read about this issue in a variety of threads. Will I hear static/popping sounds when changing channels? With my Denon HEOS this is a very annoying issue that Denon claims is normal behavior? Can I power on/off the Sonos bar using my TIVO remote? Thanks.

New to Sonos but wife wants to buy me a setup after experiencing a friends. What is a good setup to stream from an iPhone to outdoor garden speakers in a summerhouse for BBQ and the music in the main house in the kitchen? Ok so I have a 7.1 receiver, 4k TV, left, right and center channel currently. My sub died and I may buy another wired one, but have considered buying a Sonos sub. I was also considering buying sonos for rear speakers. How would I connect that to my existing system? Second, Sonos speakers require a 110 power source correct?

Hi there. My parents' sound system has just died, and they were never fans - it was an iPod dock, and they found the screen on the iPod too small, and nothing worked how they expected. They listen to MP3s ripped from their CD collection, and the radio. I need a simple set up for them. I am thinking of getting them a SONOS 1, an Amazon Fire 7 Tablet and a USB stick. I *think* I can put all their MP3s on the USB stick and plug it into their wifi router. Then I understand that they will be able to access those songs on the SONOS without any problems. They can then use the tablet as a remote control. Does this all sound correct, and are there any problems I'm missing?

I have some cash burning a hole in my pocket and i need help making the right decision!! I have a playbar in the lounge with tv and wonder whether to go for the subwoofer or 2 x play 1's. Hi. Due to some changes in my living room, I can no longer use my floor standing speakers that I use with my Sonos Amp. I'm recently installed some new shelves though, and want to have some speakers for it... the only issue is that the shelf depth is only 22.5cm. Can anyone suggest any good bookshelf speakers (£200 max) with a depth of no more than around 22cm to go on my shelves? Been looking at the Q Acoustics 3010 but I'm still unsure. Hi All! New to the forum. Looking to build out a few rooms, and was curious about opinions on a larger living room/dinning room area. Has anybody heard or compared a 2x Play 3 + sub setup vs. a stereo pair of the Play 5 Gen2's? Everything else being equal, I would prefer a Stereo Play 5 setup and call it done, but the idea of ceiling mounted Play 3's with a floor mount Sub solves some placement issues at extra expense and mounting effort. If it sounds materially better I might go that route vs. the 2x Play 5 floor mount. Any input? Best, Ethan

I am not yet decided on a playbar or playbase with which to begin my Sonos system. My TV is located in a sort of cavity set back in the wall and the playbar would go beneath it, thus blocking the drivers at either end of the sound bar. Sonos recommends leaving a space of 30cm to either end of the device. Does anyone have experience of how much the sound suffers when the playbar is positioned like this? I have no idea what kind of drivers are located at the ends so would it impede the bass or the surround-sound effect? The playbase on the other hand is very unattractive, so big it would not fit properly above the media cabinet and the TV is wall mounted on an arm. But if it would sound better and save me needing to buy the woofer I might go for it.

I was hoping to put the new Playbase at my house, but I am not sure it will fit on my mantel. I went listen to the bar in person yesterday, but the base was not available. Are they similar in sound quality? The setup I was listening to was paired with the subwoofer.

Thanks for any help. I'm going to bite the bullet and get a Sonos setup. I need help determining what would be best for what rooms. The rooms I would like to have music in are main floor: living room, dining room and a great room that has family room/kitchen/casual dining. Upstairs for now just one bedroom where the wireless router is. Here's more description of the rooms where id like to have music. 1. Living room and dining room: These rooms are open to each other but separate from the rest of the house. Both are 10 x 10 so together 10 x 20'. Reality is we will only use the formal dining room once a month at best. 2. Great room: Family room with tv above fireplace open to kitchen and eating area off to the side. The family room and kitchen are a long room – 15' x 30' with TV above fireplace on one short side and kitchen counter on the opposite short side. We had our house built last year, with it came 2 pair of wired speakers with the wires run to the cabinets under the tv in our living room. Knowing I was going to have a Sonos setup in our living room, I had 1 set of the speakers installed in the garage and 1 on the screen porch. A year later I still haven't connected them to anything but recently have been wishing I had. So it seems I have 2 scenarios. First - purchase 2 Sonos amps, 1 for each pair of wired speakers - but paying $1000 for these 2 pairs of wired speakers seems ridiculous when I could buy 2 Play 1's or 3's (1 for each of the 2 areas mentioned) and spend much less. And then just forget about connecting the wired speakers. Second - and this is the one I'm not sure about. It seems as though their are home audio receivers that I can play my Sonos app on my phone through and have it connected to the 2 pair of wired speakers. We do not have any component home audio equipment at this point - simply use the Sonos

I purchased my Boost whilst living in the UK. Now I'm back in the states I cannot find a power adapter with he correct size plug (the coax plug on the Boost). It appears to be proprietary. Has anyone out there come across this issue?
