I own a Sonos Arc, 2 One SL's and 2 Subs in a home theater configuration. The Arc is connected to a Samsung TU8000 TV via EARC. I was excited to see that Sonos released a DTS firmware update, but I was let down when I realized my television doesn't pass thru DTS or multichannel PCM from my Sony Blu-ray Player and the Blu-ray player doesn't convert DTS to Dolby Digital on the fly. As a result, all I get when playing DTS blurays is stereo 2.0 PCM. Is there a workaround that doesn't involve the Arcana Fury for example to get true 5.1 audio with a DTS disc? I'm afraid I already know that the answer is no;  therefore, I don't get all the hype involved with Sonos releasing a DTS update. Thanks in advance for any answers!

Hi,Earlier this year I followed instruction to download the new Sonos app (think its referred to as Sonos 2) and connected my 2 existing Play 1 devices. However I rarely use them but went to check them today and the app wont connect to them, in fact the “system” screen is all greyed out where it should show each Play1 device. Im getting an error message “unable to connect to Sonos” and when I try follow the “lets fix it” message I end up going around in circles. It’s as though it has an issue connected to my wifi/internet connection, and that works fine for all other devices. Any advice would be appreciatedThanks

I love the performance and function of my Sonos speakers, but I’m tired of the cult-like following required for me to use Apple devices so I switched from an iPhone to a Samsung Galaxy s21. Now I’ve learned that Sonos and Google aren’t friends and that I have to choose between the phone I much prefer over the speakers I enjoy. It looks like Google lost the patent lawsuit and hopefully pays Sonos whatever you’re due, now can we please support casting so I don’t have to deal with mom & dad’s quarrel? I paid a premium for your speakers, and my phone, but I can’t send the audio from the apps I want to use to my speakers because why again? The app that I’m trying to use is White Noise by TMSOFT because it helps me sleep and there aren’t any good continuous alternatives on Sonos or Pandora Compatibility isn’t a lot to ask.Scott

Would anyone have advice on connecting the Steepletone ST918 turntable to the Sonos One speakers.It has Line Out (RCA) AND sub woofer out connections.  I have been researching online and think I could use the Sonos Port but I don't want to buy it unless I'm sure its worth it.  Any advice appreciated  

I set up my Hd Fury Arcana to Beam gen 2 and connected Apple TV 4K 2021 model. I have set the Arcana to beam on but I don’t get Dolby Atmos just DD 5.1. When I changed the mode to EARC and turn off beam mode on Arcana I don’t have volume but can set up Dolby Atmos on ATV.  Arcana has the latest software version 0.84. I have watched on You Tube how to set up but I am not winning! Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thankyou in advance.

I own 4 Sonos AMP and they do not go on stanby, never.I’m measuring power consuption and its always 64W.They are connected by ethernet cable and with wifi disabled.Any idea how to put them on standby?PS: I know they supposedly go in standby after 3 minutes without usage. Not my case :(

Hi everyoneI've got a Sony X950H and for the most part the Beam Gen 2 works quite well. That is except with the PS5. I've had audio delay issues when using anything but Linear PCM, so I switched to this setting. The issue I have now is that the volume (and perceived fullness of the audio), doesn't compare with the Dolby audio setting.Has anyone else experience this and will there be a fix coming?Thanks    

Spotify on laptop amd phone wont connect  to either of my 2 sonos speakers in my second sonos system. My phone spotify connects correctly on my first system at a different location. Any ideas how to resolve this ?

Can we please get back the ability to adjust the crossover on the sub. Why was that removed it was a great feature and made the system sound so much better.   Thanks 

I added my computer as audio source per the instructions from Sonos and SWYH and Sonos app confirms its been added but I can’t find it anywhere in the app.   Also where is Tunein in the app?  I can’t find that anywhere either.

Can anyone please recommend a managed ethernet switch. I am struggling to connect more than one Sonos device at a time as I am getting a loop. I know only one needs to be plugged in but my router is upstairs and I would like to connect at least one of the downstairs devices to sure up the signal and need it to get to the garden room as it is a weak signal. I can get it to work if I was able to connect the kitchen play 5 which is the closest to the garden room.Thank you

I recently moved house to a place that has speaker in the ceilings throughout the downstairs. They are all wired through to a comms box. Do I need the Port or the Amp to set this up and will it allow me to play different music in each room or will it only allow one song to be played throughout?

I have a Beam (1st gen) and two supporting One SL speakers left and right of my TV, in a compact set-up in a small room. I also have a Blu-ray player connected to the TV. I recently dug out my old CD collection and realised I’d like to play them again through my Beam and One SL speakers, but independently of the TV i.e. not using the Blu-ray player. The idea is I’d like to play my CDs without switching the TV on, or to have something else on the screen without needing to keep it on the Blu-ray input for the sound.Is there any way I can do this, if I was to purchase a small standalone CD player which could just connect directly to the Beam? I realise I only have the HDMI port at the back of the Beam, which is currently connected to the ARC-compatible port on the TV.Ideally I wouldn’t want to disturb my existing set-up too much, as it’s a compact space and hard to access at the back. I appreciate there’s probably not a workaround for what I’m looking for, but thought I’d give it a chance

I wanna buy a turn table to play vinyl via a preamp on two play 5 (2 nd gen) speakers set on stereo and I was wondering if the line in mode keep the sound analog 🤔

Found out that my Connect:AMP is dead after 3 years.  Was told by support that “It happens” when something is “always on”.  I can’t help but wonder what will die next.  I’m looking for alternatives to the Connect:AMP from another vendor that stands behind their products better than Sonos.  Does anyone have any suggestions?Thank you!

Hi, just a quick Q regarding release notes. My S1 system is at 11.2.12 and says that an update is waiting. However, checking the sonos.com site for S1 release notes brings up just one page with details for Sonos releases that stop at 11.2.6.Where can I find release notes for current software?Thanks in advance, Steve

Greetings, We have a Sonos system in our home. Does anyone have positive or negative experience or advice with using Apple Music vs Spotify over a Sonos system? For the most part, all of our devices are Apple products (computers, tablets, phones, etc.).Any tips or tricks on how to optimize it?

Seeing all the Sonos Beam 5.1 setups with people's PCs here looks AWESOME. Wonder what kind of latency it would have though? Is it suitable for gaming? Wouldn't be nice if the audio lags. I imagine it can't be too bad if my Xbox Series X sounds great on my Sonos Arc?

Finally decided to reach out to the professionals here after going crazy over this for a few days. I have a new Hisense U8 with the latest firmware, a Sonos ARC with two One SLs and for some reason I can’t get Surround to work with PS5 games. I have my input set to Passthrough on the TV and have eARC on but any PS5 settings I tried didn’t work with different results.LPCM: Setting the output to LPCM and 5.1 channels on the PS5 shows as PCM (Stereo) on the Sonos App when playing a game. It’s also incredibly quiet.Dolby: Setting the output to Bitstream(Dolby) shows as Dolby Digital 5.1 on the Sonos App but nothing is played on the rear channels, for all intents and purposes it appears to be playing as Stereo…. As a reference I have my Xbox One X set to output as Dolby Atmos and every game I can throw at it work with 5.1 audio perfectly, I suspect their transcoding is really good.

Hi everyone.There is a lot of discussion around this and it sounds like my setup won’t work.  I’m new to Sonos, so I’d really like to go with Sonos, so I want to make sure this won’t work before moving on.My intention is to setup Sonos Amp for both my Samsung Frame TV and record player.  The room has 4 surround in-wall dumb speakers.  To make this cost effective, I’d like to keep these speakers and replace the other 2 pairs of ‘in ceiling’ speakers in the house with architectural speakers to play selectively digital music as different rooms.  I’d like to use the existing dumb ceiling speakers for my living room with the TV and record player.  Am I correcting in understanding that because I am setting up as surround for the TV, the amp could not be used to play vinyl out of the dumb surround speakers because the line in is disabled?As a workaround, could the second amp be used as the line in for the record player?  Could it then play the vinyl on the surround setup through the other amp

The search to remove the beam from my system isn't clear or I can't seem to find where I delete so I can add the Arc?

Hi,  I have a Sonos 5.1 setup. It’s Arc, Sub and two Play Ones. All in all I am very happy with it.  But my room is kinda big, 60 m2 with 5 meter ceiling.  Here’s the question: what would be the best upgrade: to get a second sub or replace the Ones with Fives? I should mention that I also use the system for music quite a lot, and have it set up so the Ones and the Sub are the most audible. I like listening to music in a 5.1 setup; you can sort walk around inside the soundfield rather than sit in a narrow sweetspot of stereo-speakers. (I have a very serious vinyl stereo-setup, that sounds better than Sonos (you know: tubes and preamps, poweramps and cables and phonostages, etc.) but I still use Sonos for 80% of my music listening).  Hope this makes sense. Thanks
