On my mobile Pandora app I am able to download some albums or stations so I can play them if my internet hiccups. Is there a way to do this with Sonos? I.e., could I have Sonos download playlist tracks so they can run if my internet goes down? If not, it would be very cool to offer this as a new feature.
Yes, I know this question is asked a lot but I’m asking it again. I currently have an Arc + Sub. Love it. For music, I have a five that I usually play along with the Arc + Sub. Hate it. Obviously this is not a stereo pair and it does not do justice to music listening. I’m contemplating buying another Five and only using the 2 Fives as a stereo pair with no sub. Or do I remove the sub from the Arc and use with the Fives? I really wish I could use the sub interchangeably with the Arc and Fives...but sigh. Thoughts? cheersJ
Is a SYMFONISK lamp suitable for outdoors? I'm talking about a covered deck.
My question is: would it be possible for Sonos to add to the Sonos ecosystem a vacation mode? In that mode, when activated by tapping a button in the app, all the Sonos units would power down to an absolute minimum power consumption. With vacation mode enabled, all network activity of the Sonos units will cease, of course making them unavailable in the app. Re-activation will take more startup time as usual, for the units have to boot and initiate IP handshakes with other network devices. After having returned from vacation, a tap on the vacation button would be required to re-activate the system to the normal stand-by mode. This option would reduce power consumption during the absence of the user.
I have used last.fm since 2005 and bought my first Sonos devices in 2012, and I have suffered from the double scrobble problem when using Spotify that has been discussed in question threads for many years. If I remove scrobbling from Sonos but play Spotify through Sonos, no scrobbles are registered. If I have last.fm as a service I get two scrobbles for each track I listen to.I have a fix for this problem. Of sorts. I bought a Sonos Roam, a brilliant little speaker, that has the ability to connect to both my Sonos system via wifi and my mobile device via Bluetooth. So, I connect to the Roam with Bluetooth, control Spotify with my phone, never use the Spotify service in Sonos, and then connect the Roam to my Sonos system and at last, no more double scrobbles.of course a dedicated in-Sonos coded solution software update would be much better, but this works, so I’m happy. Now I just need to get the Beam I received today to talk to my Sony Bravia TV.
So I have the newest sony oled tv a90j hooked up to my sonos arc surround sound via earc hdmi 2.1. When I play any streaming app Hulu,Netflix,ESPN,YouTube and Disney plus from the google tv that comes with the tv already I get Dolby digital 2.0 or Dolby digital plus 5.0 or Dolby atmos which is great. Now I bought the newest Apple TV 4K and when I play any other app other than Netflix (I get Dolby vision 5.0 if set to Dolby vision or Dolby atmos if set to atmos only on Netflix)all I get is stereo pcm no matter what setting I put on the Apple TV in. Tried Dolby atmos setting on Apple TV or Dolby digital setting on Apple TV and nothing all I get is stereo pcm no matter what app I play Even Apple Music on the Apple TV all I get is stereo pcm. Any ideas as to why or how I can fix it? Or is Apple newest 4K Apple TV can’t pass any Dolby content unless the app actually has it like Netflix for example.appreciate any suggestions or inputs.
I am so confused at this point. I have a beam connected to the tv and a new turntable with preamp. I also have a Sonos one in another room and am likely to move it and add another one to create surround in living room. I also have two echo dots in other rooms. I want to play the turntable but don’t want to buy bookshelf speakers. I have a small apartment so wanting to make the best with small options and want to integrate what I have. So, I assume I need the sonos amp? If I buy a port the I’d also have to buy a separate amp? Help!!
I updated app yesterday and i have some problems : my “Beam2+2xOneSL” disappear except my 2 SONOS Roam. I needed to reset my “Beam2+2xOneSL”. Now I have a new problem 😂 :I see my Beam+2xOneSL (= Home Theater) in the App but not my 2 SONOS Roam… I keep my 2 SONOS Roam ON and kill the app. I restart the app : I see my 2 SONOS Roam but not my Beam+2xOneSL anymore 🤣 I turn OFF my 2 SONOS Roam and… My Beam+2xOneSL is back and my 2 SONOS Roam disappear If I turn ON my 2 SONOS Roam, they don't appear in the appLove this app!Edit 1:When my “Beam2+2xOneSL” is in the app, if I try to add new devices, the app cannot find my 2 SONOS Roams 🙄…And When my 2 SONOS Roams are in the app, if I try to add new devices, the app cannot find my “Beam2+2xOneSL” 😡Edit 2:All my SONOS devices are on the same network (and same simple wifi network). Hi everybody!I wanted to share something about my Sub. Yesterday my wife, while in the kitchen, decided to kill a insect on a vaulted ceiling using a two pound flour bag. Little that she knew, the bag bursted (just a tiny split, not all the way) and some of the flour got on the top of my Sub Gen2 and around it. I did not see anything in the Sub. After I experienced a tiny stroke :-), I grabbed the vacuum cleaner and cleaned the mess. Then I’ve put Master and Commander, Sub setting plus 10 and told my kids to go into their room. We did laugh about it how a split second moment of anger or simply not thinking things through could give you some not needed work. Now for the serious part.Do you think anything could have happen? How is the Sub constructed, Where is the opening (besides the obvious rectangular one)? Do you think that flour can compare to dust in consistency and the ability to enter the SUB? Is it wise to turn the Sub upside down and try to shake it or vacuum some more? P.S. My
Better Title for this post: Audio Drops after 5 Minutes of either Podcast or songs longer than 5 minutesFirst of all, this is more of a summary\conversation\Review vs an actual question. I really don’t want this topic shelved as it often does by moderators. There is no fix as far as I can tell.I have a Play5 Gen 1 device which worked great up until the S2 Controller was released. Not sure what happened but once S2 was released, my Play5 Gen 1 started dropping audio podcasts after about 5 mintues. Music tends to play fine as long as it is 5 mintues or less. Full disclosure: I play Podcasts via Spotify and I choose my Play5 from the list of available output options. To be fair: SONOS has been very helpful and we have tried several fixes with the assistance of SONOS tech support. The latest was to connect my Play5 via Ethernet cable to my Uverse Router which worked for about a day.SONOS was nice enough to offer up a 20% discount on the new Play5 which is nice but the base price is about
Can anyone recommend a method to "add" records played on the Carbon Stream to my Sonos music library? Thanks,Mike
I have this music track that I can’t seem to remove, delete, or however you want to phrase it. It’s the Tinlicker track in the pic. My music sources for Sonos are SoundCloud and Mixcloud. This particular track is not on my list of music of either one. I’ve deleted the SoundCloud and Mixcloud app from Sonos and it still appears as you see. Any ideas on removing it. On any other song in my lists, deleting it from the source doesn’t allow it to show up on. Never heard of CreateRadio either. my Sonos app.
HiIs it possible to use the ethernet embedded in HDMI for internet connectivity - i.e. can the Beam (or my LG C2 TV) bridge its ethernet to my home router, meaning that I don’t need two physical connections? Thanks in advance
Everything was working fine and then suddenly sound issues. Play at connected to TV with digital audio cable. Suddenly it stopped working, after review it’s working but to hear the tv sound has to be up to almost max. Remove tv and play music l, it’s normal nonissue. I check settings and rest and same. I’ve tried Dolby, arc and standard. Same behavior. Check the cable it’s in secure when I pull out of playbar it had the red light any thoughts as to what’s going on?
I’ve finally found an excellent phone app that will give me multi band equalization for my Sonos speakers. The Neutron Music Player app allows me to play audio from Phone/NAS etc to Sonos over my home wifi network including any equalization settings. Its a bit complicated ‘tiil you get used to it and I did have to change one setting to allow quicker discovery of the Sonos speakers: Settings/Network/Source State Check Time=1Also really good for headphones with AutoEQ built in and separate EQ for left and right ear if reqd.
Hi,My first post. Sonos has a page - Sonos Power Consumption While Idle, is there a similar page for the Symfonisk products? Also does SonosNet usage have a large impact on standby consumption? I only stumbled onto SonosNet today, I wonder why Sonos/IKEA don’t promote its use?
Don’t want to violate any forum rules or community norms. Is it ok to post a message looking for beta testers for a new app? Moderator edit after discussion with @SITNOS: We're a small company developing an app to let AppleTV users control their SONOS system from the couch (and without having to dig out a phone!).If you're interested, please send me a Private Message and I’ll let you know the email address to apply to.Ideally you should have some experience using beta applications and Apple's TestFlight app, but we can help with that if you've never acted as a beta tester before. Thanks in advance for any and all volunteers and happy to answer any questions that may arise.
I’m thinking of buying a Sonos surround set that has Beam, Sub and two One SLs. My question is can I listen to music on a stereo pair of the SLs and the sub as a group. If so, how easy is it to do this? Tried to search and read all the existing topics but could not fin the answer.
Is there any official documentation/web links that describes the formats the Sonos uses for Apple Music streaming direct from Sonos Apple Music Service vs AirPlay?I previously ripped my CD collection to Apple Lossless (FLAC), this was uploaded a few years ago to Apple Match, and I am now looking to convert this subscription to Apple Music (on a trial) so I can stream my Library directly ffrom Apple Music. When I stream my Library via Apple Music, I see around 1Mb/s bandwidth on my router to the wired Sonos device from the Internet, but cant figure out what format it is streaming. If I AirPlay from iOS device will it be same format?
Does anyone know how to get better audio through the Sonos app or through airplay? I have a Beam gen 2 with a Sub connected to my TV and two Ones (One in the kitchen and one in my bedroom). The Beam and sub sound amazing when playing music through my Apple TV but when I use the Sonos app or airplay, the sound quality and bass decrease dramatically. The crisp vocals and high tones fade away and the bass loses its punch, especially with the lowest notes. It sounds like the frequency range is being reduced. This is with Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon music. I have also tested different audio formats such as Atmos, Stereo PCM, and Amazon ultra hd. I have also tested different sources with the same results. It is annoying because I like multi room listening, which means I have to listen at a lower quality (in the Sonos app or over airplay). I have heard much better sound quality and bass over air play and bluetooth with much cheaper systems so it’s hard to believe that is the cause.
Hello! I have a Sonos Port connected to a Denon AVR. Every time I switch the output to variable volume it jumps back to fixed, can you please help me?
What did work perfect in W10 is not the case in W11. I can’t connect to SONOS. This is a HP Notebook and the settings done by my company. Meaning, I have restricted access as administrator. So I can’t change the public to Private network. Any other suggestions able to connect please?
I have bought the Connect:Amp a few years back and, after a short lived connection success, I have not been able to connect anymore despite numerous factory resets of the Connect:Amp, and re-installs of the IOS App.Any clue? Can the Connect:Amp be connected only via mobile phone? Is there any alternative, independent controller that can be shared by the family?Thank you.
