If I use 2 sonos ones as surround speakers with my playbar can I still use the Alexa function as I could as a stand alone speaker... or should I just use play 1s and my existing echo dot?
I've been having the same problems with music playlists stop playing and "network connection speed insufficient" messages coming up shortly after every track it try's to play and skips to the next!!!! Really gets annoying when your trying to chill out!!!
Has this been fixed yet? For whatever reason I cannot delete a phantom zone/player. We have 10 Sonos speakers but it shows 12
I really wish to know why a brand new wireless speaker has to support only the oldest Wi-Fi protocol 802.11b/g... no 802.11ac, neither 802.11n... It's a shame! :@ Any tecnical reason involved?
The speakers connected to my Connect:Amp randomly output static when no music is playing. Any idea what might cause this?
Hi, what are the details of sonos approved repair centres please?
Hi there, I have the SONOS 5 gen1 with a solid red light after the latest update, any recommendation or help? factory reset or resetting controller did not help.
Post a year and 2 months of use my 2nd gen Play 5 would refuse to turn on out of the blue. A quick google search confirmed a number of users facing the same issues across the Sonos product line. On contacting Sonos, initially they asked me to send them a couple of photos showing the speaker connected to the power supply and the serial number. The customer rep said that this would be taken care at no cost to me. After submitting the photos, I receive a email for an RMA/replacement wherein they offered to ship a replacement for a whopping $280, which is more than half the original price of the Play 5. On enquiring further with the customer rep, I was curious to understand how did Sonos arrive at the replacement value without even going through my device. I understand that a speaker like anything else can go kaput, however my problem here is the flat price tag to replace it with no guarantee that this would not happen with the replacement device. Ideally I would prefer if Sonos gave a
1) Does a stereo pair allow for 2 selectable line in sources? Ex. Left = a turntable preamp and Right = Airport Express. 2) If setup as a rear surrounds, do you need to remove them from the Playbar and setup again to use the line in feature? Ideally, I'd like to use these as rear surrounds with a Playbar for 75% of the time and then as a stereo pair with a turntable for the remainder. But I believe that when paired as surrounds this removes the line in option(s) even when set to "full".
Anyone else purchased a gen 2 play 5 and been shocked at the poor sound? I have had it a few weeks and can't believe all the rubbish spouted in the press. Despite being used in a few locations and having true play set up its terrible. Closed in mid range, splashy treble and flat sounding. Does Sonos only offer 100 day returns if bought from them? Anyone want to buy it?
Just finished a Sonos chat session_USA. The agent stated the release date for the Sonos Amp as December 1st. I hope that’s right.
Sounds silly but how do you turn your system off when not in use , just purchased 5.1 sub, play 1,play base
Smaller stereo box, Hi folks at Sonos, love your products but I find the Sonos Play 1 is too big for the shower/bathroom ensuite - It would be great to have a "Sonos Micro" that's optimised for a bathroom so I can enjoy great quality music during my morning shower. Small, Water resistant, Stereo & easily wall mounted or with a wall sucker would be great
I have two (2) Play:1 speakers eetup in a stereo pair in my living room. I am considering buying another pair to use outside under the roof of our overhang and/or cabana (where we will have a TV). Both overhang and cabana are under construction. I thought of adding electrical outlet in different locations to support the Play:1 speakers... so will do this. But there are some other thoughts... 1. Long power cable comes with the Play:1 speakers... would be great if shorter version included with each Play:1 to support close proximity receptacle. That way, don't have lengthy power cord wrapped/looped around (subject to EM noise/interference, impacting sound experience) and it is easier/cleaner to install. Another thought... 2. Instead of power outlet, I could install CAT5/6 Ethernet cable (within or on it own) to support BOTH a wired LAN connecton (perhaps a Wifi extended or local access point/switch... which I happen to have) AND PoE (Power over Ethernet) where DC coul
Hello, just a question ... does anyone uses macronos on his android device ? It seems that this little app can easily do what sonos doesn't want to implement i.e. stream to sonos directly the music you play on your phone (spotify, youtube, ...). Another question does anybody tried to install macronos on a mac with a virtual box or other solution. Thank you and sorry for my English
Hello I’m wondering if Wi-Fi Direct is something you are working on to implement. It would be great to be able to bring my Sonos One with me without bothering with a router. Is it only a software development for you to implement? You would also be competing with other bluetooth speakers and perhaps sell more units, plus another incentive not to buy a HomePod. Cheers, Johan!
Recently my office was broken into and I had (2) Play 1 speakers stolen. Both were fairly new and I have the receipt showing the Serial Number of both speakers. A police report was filed. I am wondering if Sonos can track the speakers to a new registered user as the speakers are registered on the app in order to use them. Any info would be appreciated. I would love to have the police follow up on this with the assistance of Sonos. Thanks in advance for the assistance.
When friends comment on them and ask what do I think, and would I recomend them I invariably answer. The problem is with Sonos attitude to customers, You cannot add new speakers without being a registered user, the apps insist on an update usually at an inconvenient time, Sonos no longer allow those of us using PC's to have the same options as smartphones and recently I have started receiving emails via the smartphone app advertising products ( yes I know they can be switched off) but I did not buy the system for it to be used to pester me. And finally you may have to install cables to many of your speakers as the wireless system (in my case at least) was not stable. It is a pity as the sound is great
Just found out, that since replacing my wireless modem, I can no longer use my HP Notebook to operate the Sonos Controller!!! To use my notebook, I need to take my playbar down and hardwire it to my new modem and reprogram it. Sounds easy!! Modem in the basement, playbar under my TV in great room. This is just another example of the dumb decisions made by management. Was going to buy 3 play ones. Decided not to waste time and money!! Have had other problems with Sonos but they would take up a book to describe. My suggestion is to look elsewhere for speakers. As a side note, retired after 36 years in music radio,I tell everyone I know not to buy Sonos products..
Where can the Sonos One Hay be bought? It seems not to be part of the online offering at sonos.com...
Hi There, I have read the other topics but thought I would make my own as I am experiencing the same problems. My Sonos keeps dropping out. At this stage I only have 1 room with a Playbar + Sub called Lounge. I have changed my routers channel to the least clogged channel but still keep getting the dropouts. I have a standard setup and no boost. My Playbar is a WiFi connection and not wired. Would a Sonos Boost help? I have sent diagnostics, the confirmation number is 1473402848. Love my Sonos just wished it would stop dropping out. Thanks for your time.
Is there a recommendation of where to find longer power cables?
Please change code for playback default so that rear channel L/R speakers play music when not playing back TV surround sound. It stinks that they just sit there doing nothing when listening to music instead of TV.
Be warned about all this talk of old speaker compatibility. It is very misleading. I was advised prior to Airplay 2 release about the functionality we were likely to get. It is very limited. Based on that advise I now have mixture of compatible (SONOS ONEs) and in compatible SONOS speakers (PLAY 3, PLAY:1s, PLAYBAR). Firstly if you have ONEs set as surrounds to a PLAYBAR they will not be compatible with Airplay2 as it is a closed group and the ONEs cannot be seen, this is because the PLAYBAR is the lead speaker in that set (not compatible). This negates Airplay 2 completely. (this is what I did in an attempt to provide access to my older speakers throughout the house). The only way I can bring that theatre set into play is by having an additional play ONE (thats 3 now) to drive the airplay2 commands. Also, 'accessing' older speakers by simply having a single SONOS ONE limits your entire network of speakers as it must be part of the group. For instance if room A has a compatible SONOS O
While watching TV, Sonos playbar stopped working suddenly. It is not playing music from TV or appearing on the Sonos app. When I open up songs app it gives me a message that 'It looks like one of your speakers could be unplugged. Go to Room settings to see which one is missing' I have checked the playbar and it is connected to power. Any ideas? thanks
