When I switch from watching TV to listening to music without the TV I have to adjust the volume. The TV volume has to be much louder than the volume when I listen to Pandora. And vice versa. If I start listening to Pandora after watching TV the volume is blaring.
Hi folks, I have a number of Sonos units around the house, but now want to have Sonos in my bathrooms. The typical install of Connect:Amp + quality ceiling speaker is ~£450 EACH and wouldn't allow True Play configuration. Instead, I'm interested in recess mounting Play:1s in the bathroom ceilings, which would be £150 EACH and WOULD allow True Play configuration. I found this ceiling mount: http://www.cepro.com/photo/cedia_scoop_vanco_concealer_turns_sonos_play1_into_in-ceiling_speaker/0 This would mean the Play:1 isn't actually in the bathroom, but in the attic above, from where it would also be powered. Does anyone know if there are any issues with such a configuration? Thanks vulpi
I received my pair of Play:1's a couple of days ago, and set them up as a stereo pair in the living room. I already owned a Play:5, and I'm really disappointed about the sound quality of the Play:1 stereo pair vs. the single Play:5. I hear significant distortion in some songs, and really flat sound overall. I know I cannot expect the sound quality of the Play:5, but based on all the very positive reviews concerning sound quality, and the fact that I set them up as a stereo pair, I expected much better sound quality. I already tried to tweak with loudness and equalizer, but don't get a sound which meets my expectations Has anyone else already experience (positive or negative) with these speakers? I contacted via the web form the Support Desk to see if I can change the speakers for another pair, in case something would be wrong, but I doubt so...
Hi , im looking for a Linux version of the controller application to control the Sonos player 1.
I listen to Radio 1 constantly and it is cutting out for one or two seconds every minute or so and it's driving me insane. Seems like it doesn't happen when playing Google Play or others. I've tried rebooting the Sonos, my router, app, phone, computer... all of that. Plus I have removed the station from favourites and re-added. Diagnostic number 7314764 Thanks in advance.
Just purchased a play5 to go with my two play1's but had a question about hard-wiring a single play1 vs only wiring a boost (I would have to order one). Is the boost signal stronger than the play1? The 5 will be used for indoor/outdoor so that wouldn't be able to be wired so it comes down to me using an existing play1 vs purchasing a boost and using that. Thanks in advance!
My LG magic remote for my Oled55e6* TV is not recognised by my Sonos playbar for sound control. Can this be done as I have to use my sky remote for sound control at present which is a bit of a pain ?
When playing music (library, pandora, any of them) the music cuts out of the (2) Play 1 speakers for a few seconds at random time - and then comes back on after approx. 5 seconds. Playbar and subwoofer continue to play. (Same situation used to happen in my truck when the amp got too hot - the subwoofers would kick off for a few seconds) Speakers are located on tables beside couch with plenty of airflow, etc. Its becoming extremely annoying - any help would be appreciated. Thanks from Sonos in Texas !!
Hi, Is it possible to make a stereo pair with a 1st gen and a 2nd gen play5 speaker, or is it only possible pair the same generations?
I have recently noticed that the WiFi in my house has been slow. I managed to isolate the problem to equipment that use the 2.4 GHz (802.11n) bandwidth. Using an RF Explorer, I realized that the 2.4 Ghz is completely saturated (any channel) from devices at our neighbors. As a result, a 50 Gbit speed is reduced to 1 Gbit when the 2.4 GHz channel is used. To be safe, I replaced the WiFi WAP with a new one that supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The problem remains, but not on the 5 GHz band. Any equipment on the 2.4 GHz band crawls, any on the 5 GHz band flies. I have been having problems with connectivity of my SONOS speakers, when I realized that they also use the 2.4GHz band. I have had the speakers for some time now. Both are wireless via a SONOS Bridge, so not my WiFi WAP. Am I to assume that I am doomed, since SONOS uses the same band?
Hi There - I need Your input: which kind/setup of speaker(s) can you recommend in my dining room (23 m2) ? I'm thinking of two possible ways: 1) to hang-up two pcs of play:1's in two of the upper corners OR 2) just one Play:5 in one of the corners. My need is just for music occasionally when dining and when having guest perhaps some louder music ( but not crazy party…) Looking forward to your advice 🙂
I have two identical Samsung 4k TVs each connected to a separate Playbar and with surround speakers and each with an optical connection. Both of them suffer from the same problem that intermittently they will cut out for 5-8 seconds and then the sound comes back. This does not happen when streaming music on Spotify through wi-fi. I have tried resetting everything and have checked all connections. The Sonos and TV software is up to date including Router firmware (Asus RT-AC3200). Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated!
Hi, Any offers for how to resolve a rapidly blinking green light on my Play 5 please? A Play 3 is fine. Alan
Hi, I am getting very tinny sound from my Play:5 - same music is fine through may Play:3s and Play:1s - could the base speakers have blown? How do you check that? Thanks John
Hey, So i'm getting a playbar soon and i want to connect my existing and new Play1's to the playbar. From reading online it would appear i can connect two providing i use a bridge however im keen to know if I can connect more than the two and if so is it the same process? Also, can i connect Play 3 or 5's to my playbar. thinking of buying some with the playbar and unsure if i should stay with P1's Thanks

Hello. Could anyone in the know kindly advise what the Sonos Connect box dimensions are and what the shipping weight of the set is please? I'm trying to assess shipping costs/options. TQ.
Was working fine via wireless for 2 years or so. One day disappeared from zone list and no lights on speaker at all. Tried a different outlet but nada. Is it toast? What's the warranty on a Play 5?
Hi Does it make any difference in term of sound quality and output if I mount my play 1 upside down on the wall? Reason I do this so I can easily see status light access to the button
I have an investment in sonus that I am thinking of ebaying and moving to a DTS play-fi compatible system.. due to My 2.4ghz wifi and saturated and i have band overlap from neighbors Sonos goes goofy things with STP on the ethernet side that gives my managed switches heartburn This results in dropouts and poor performance and questionable future proof with Alexa -- yeah I know there was an accountment for future support from sonos but I hate the clumsiness of skills " tell so and so to do XYZ" .. far easier to tell echo dot to "play music" in addition, Amazon announced play-fi support for streaming and voice commands Also I like teh idea of more of an open platform than closed sonos -- My system is the sonos sub 7 play:1 and a connect to distribute amazon music from an echo dot So what are the community thoughts on DTS play-fi in general and definitive tech in particular?
I have a whole new sonos system consisting of a play base, sub and two play 1's for the home theatre component. Everything works brilliantly except when I play a blu ray dvd. I have a relatively new Sony Bravia smart tv and a brand new Sony blu ray dvd player. During the start up and menu of the dvd all works fine. But the moment I play the movie I lose the sound. I have double checked the disc, the player, the hdmi cable on another tv (not connected to the sonos) and it all works fine. Strangely if I change the sound set up in the tv back to tv from audio system I do get sound from the movie thru both the tv and the sonos. But as soon as I change it back to audio system I lose the sound agin. I am totally stuck, can someone help?????

Hi, I am just setting up a Playbar in a Standard configuration. I notice it has 2 x RJ-45 ports on its back. And one short Ethernet cable was included in the packaging. What is their purpose?
can i add more power to the connect system from another source?
Hi All, Looking for a recommendation for a large outdoor space. I tend to play movies outside on a projector in the summer, connected to my laptop. One challenge I have is that one pair of speakers tends to be fine for folks sitting close to them, but not great for folks sitting further away. My hope was to come up with a configuration via Sonos that would allow me to have sound for those upfront, and those further away. My initial thought was to do something like use a PLAY:5 with a pair of PLAY:3s or PLAY:1s Place the PLAY:5 upfront, and the two PLAY:3s (or 1s) near the rear of the backyard. My question to everyone: is something like this even possible? I'm not looking for surround sound, just a means to hear the same audio from a movie at all parts of the backyard. Appreciate any advice. Thanks.
