Just wondering if other people has the same issue as me out there. This will result in a replacement (RMA as Sonos calls it), at my charge (over $300) as the warranty is out. I own 2 play 5 purchased at a different time. The oldest (2 years old) stopped working without any reasons. Once plugged in, no light, no boot, nothing. The solid light came one day, stayed on for a couple of hours and disappeared. The blinking white light came on 2 days later, blinked for a couple of hours and disappeared. Since then, the device hasn't been responding, and is impossible to factory reset after Customer Service asked me to. Sonos said they will exchange it but I will be charged $300 for it. Is this real? If I do it, Sonos play 5 Gen 1 would have cost me over $850 and I am not even sure it will work in 2 years. Anybody had the same experience? I am not sure I will exchange it and just recycle the defective product as I am at a loss anyway. Good that I haven't added the other components as I
Create a stereo pair between play 1 and one // I have a blue note play one and want to pair it with a sonos one. pretty please. 😉
Full disclosure - I first bought a Klipsch The Three. Had problems setting it up and couldn't get timely support from Klipsch Tech Support (over a week with no response). Sounded great once it was running but couldn't maintain a connection. I mention this as this was my reference point for comparing performance. Purchased the Sonos Play 5 and out of the box I was impressed with the packaging and ease of setup. That's where my favorable impressions ended. The Play 5 sounded thin with no bass presence or depth of field. Even my wife heard the difference which told me something was wrong. Proceeded with the True Play auto-tuning or whatever they call it and heard absolutely no difference. Brought out my wife's Bose Soundtouch 20 for a side by side comparison and the Bose definitely sounded better. I impulsively packed it back up and requested an RMA to send the unit back. I still haven't shipped it an am now wondering if there were other manual adjustments I should have tried to
So I have a PLAYBAR and love it. Went out and got a pair of Play 5’s to augment the PLAYBAR as front speakers (shame on me for listening to the sales rep instead of doing my own homework).....I understand (now) that this is not possible. The primary goal is for streaming music through the TV (Sony XBR-65X750D) via YouTube mostly, so don’t really care about “home theater”. I was able to set the Play 5’s up as a stereo pair, and could create a group and stream music from my iPad to both the Living Room (Play 5’s) and the Family Room (PLAYBAR)—-keep in mind the speakers are actually in the same room. So I’m thinking, “ah-ha! I’ll just switch from My Music Library as the source, back to the TV, keeping the group together, and I’ve McGyvered my issue!”.....wrong....when I flipped back over to TV, I only get audio out of the PLAYBAR and the left Play 5. Ideas? Should I just return them and get the Sub? Will Sonos be coming out with an update to support front channels with the PLAYBAR?
My Sonos stops while streaming music. Works fine playing music from ipad, or iPhone playing Spotify and playing through the line in (connected with audio cable and set to line in on Sonos controller). Wifi speeds seem fine.
So guys I am using a JBL Authentics L8 speakers as my wireless Speakers as it has AirPlay and Bluetooth and almost everything to stream music wirelessly! It has 120 Watts of sound output with two tweeters and two woofers 30 Watts for each driver. I want a thunderous BASS which somewhere the JBL Authentics L8 is lacking obviously because of the compact size, but even if for a moment I come to think about contemplating the Sonos Play :5 second generation, due to even its compact size it is not going to give me a thunderous BASS either ? I was told that you can add a Sonos Sub to it which will give you more BASS but my question is will the entire set up not get messed up with this arrangement ? Firstly Sonos does not give details about its drivers (That is again a big problem) so my question is let's say the tweeter of Sonos is 25 watts and there are two of them and let's say it has two woofers (By the way I don't know how many woofers does the Play :5 second generation have?) two woofers
I have to sonos ones, let's call them A and B for simplicity, sonos A tells me the weather in Celsius and Sonos B tells me it on Fahrenheit. The settings for each player in the Amazon alexa app are fixed, I can see the sliders but they will not move:( same goes for the location settings for each speaker, I can select uk and so on, but once I leave the settings page, then return, all my details have been lost and returned to a default state. Any ideas. I've factory reset the speaker who's settings are wrong, but I end up at square one. Status quo.
I want to play Mi-Soul radio on TuneIn using the Alexa voice command on Sonos One. It’s saying it cannot play TuneIn and I don’t seem to be able to find the correct command or account linkage to make it happen
Our living room/dining room (about 20' x 40' has 18' ceiling open to the second floor. We currently have a Bose speaker system connected to a Yamaha receiver. The problem is that television audio is very muddy and it's really hard for us to hear conversation in movies and shows. I am thinking that if we had more speakers distributed around the room it might get the sound closer to our ears at a lower volume and counteract the echo effect. The Bose system has 5 speakers but only one actually carries the main audio so it is never in the right place for listening. Does Sonos have speakers that we could hook up that could do this? Would they hook up directly to the Yamaha receiver or to the TV? Any suggestions to get the sound closer to our ears?
I have a blusound vault with around 15000 tracks stored on it. I have just purchased the Sonos Play 5. is there anyway i can access the blusound vault form Sonos
Play 3 speakers cannot be hard wired to an existing stereo system, and rely on the Sonos app in order to be configured and operate via wifi. What options are there to use these speakers if Sonos goes out of business, the Sonos app is no longer supported, or there is no way to access the Sonos app to control these speakers?
How do you adjust the bass/treble on the Play1?
Can I group together my 3 Echo speakers with my 2 Sonos speaker sonthat they are all playing the same music (in sync)?
Is there any way of setting up a Sonos 3 as a TV soundbar with 2 x Sonos 1s as the rear surround speakers?
If I ordered my speakers direct from Sonos, can I return them at an authorized retailer like Best Buy, and avoid having to ship them?
All afternoon my Sonos has been skipping half way through tracks and then just stopping. Seems to happen if I stream from my phone or from Spotify. My diagnostic number is 7314948.
I saw that both One and Play:1 have the same price. They seem quite similar, except that One has voice control. Is there any advantage for Play:1 over One? If not, why are Sonos selling two almost-identical products, with the same price? I'd have expected the Play:1 to be cheaper, or even to be obsoleted, and be completely replace by the One. What am I missing here?
Can somebody explain the difference in terms of output/quality of sound, etc? I understand that Sonos One has Alexa included but if that is the only difference why are they the same price? I ask this as I was thinking of purchasing a stereo pair for another room. I have an old Connect and Play 5 at the moment and I am still using the old Sonos Controler.
I am unable to browse music with spotify on my sonos. Tried the usual reset actions: reset modem connection, reset bridge, remove and re-authorize spotify account. Nothing helps. In the past resetting would make a difference. Actually quite amazed how unstable the sonos / spotify integration is. Please how a look at my issue. Diagnostic support ticket: 3910512
Could the speakers be powered by an POE injector? Im wiring my house with Ethernet cable and it would be cool if these speakers could do that
Purchased Sonos system (playbar, sub, amp, boost) but purchased independent B&W rear speakers for surround. I was told that for surround to work I would only need to connect amp via cat 5 to router however the instructions sent me tell me to: Wire both the PLAYBAR and CONNECT:AMP to either your router, a single network switch, or to each other, using an Ethernet cable. Attach desired speakers to the CONNECT:AMP. Power rating should be at least 75W for 8 ohm speakers and at least 150W for 4 ohm speakers. Position the speaker connected to the Left terminal on the CONNECT:AMP as the left surround speaker in your surround sound setup. Position the speaker connected to the Right terminal on the CONNECT:AMP as the right surround speaker in your surround sound setup. Locate the IP address for your PLAYBAR - not the CONNECT:AMP. Is there a way to have surround without having to wire playbar and connect amp? I took Sonos helpdesk as telling me I would only need to connect amp to rou
I have a play bar connected in my lounge room with TV and multiple sources connected. If I have it set to TV after about 15 minutes of no input to TV it switches to Music. It also seems to default to Music. How can I get it to default to TV. We use the TV 90% of the time in the lounge room and this is frustrating.

I am living in Switzerland/Europe but I bought certain products in the US. If I enter http://:1400/region.htm then the first thing that shows up is "USA/Canada" and not "EU". If I push on submit I receiver the error 403. There is a password field. But I do not have any password to do such change. What do I need to do to have the right region? By the way my account is set on Switzerland! My diagnose-info ticket that I just made is 8153890.
The reason i pose this question is for the time being the Sonos has held its price quite well and with the array of Sonos products I have acquired I am starting to doubt Sonos just a bit. With Dolby Atmos Currently gaining a lot of ground and no announcement from Sonos I am honestly thinking of making the switch. I love the the forward thinking attitude that Sonos had when it launched, it was 'revolutionary.' However, recently I do not see it. All the new products are meh, and I need to be WOWed . I see myself going into my man cave and enjoying my old Bose Jewel speakers more these days, sure that room would sound great with the Sonos 5.1, but in such a small space the 7.2 immersion with DTS is awesome. Honestly I am thinking of taking my sonos gear and selling it all and going with a DolbyAtmos system in my living room. Although sonos has been great to me and my family, the ease of use has really become 'old news,' my new new Denon has multiple zones and I can stream to it o
