Speakers

I have found someone selling two Play 5's (generation 1) for 400 total. How would that compare with my two Ones that I have in my living room currently? Is it worth the money to change them out and move my Ones to other rooms, or is the sound quality better out of the Ones since they are newer? Any suggestions welcome.

Please can someone help ! I've had my sonos system for 7 months and love it however a couple of nights ago the speaker in my hall started making really weird sounds, like a door opening, then half an hour later a baby started to cry from the speaker randomly for the rest of the evening. Last night I was going to bed then I heard my speaker in my bedroom produce a sound like a plate or glass breaking followed by the crying baby sound - it was really loud! It's starting to freak me out and I don't know how to stop it. It seems to only happen at night and is totally random ! None of my friends are doing this using my wifi by the way. I've read that www.fastcompany.com has managed to hack into the Sonos App which might explain what's happening however I'm not sure what I need to do to stop what's happening now. Can anyone help? Should I delete the App from my iPhone and reinstall ?

Hi peeps. I have 2 new Sonos Ones as a left and right stereo pair. I am thinking of buying a Playbar, which I know will connect to my tv through the audio out through it, but can I connect all speakers together and play Spotify / Deezer through Playbar and Ones as a whole?? Thanks!!

It would appear that this will be the last year of Sonos. Between the cancer of their lousy 5.0 app their anti-customer policy of outright refusing to fix it, their market lead will almost certainly be gone by X-mas. Hi, I have a Sonos 5.1 surrond sound setup with: 1x Playbar 1x Sub 2x Sonos One The surround sound is great when I am playing Dolby Digital 5.1 content. However when I am not playing 5.1 content, only the Playbar will have sound. Is there a way for the system to utilise the Sonos Ones as well as the Playbar to play stereo content when it detects the content is not 5.1?

It would be really great if the play 3 or a play 5 had a optical output so i could use it for my tv in my bedroom. Im not going to buy a playbar for a bedroom when they are 700 bucks. A smaller speaker for tv’s in bedrooms would be a great add to the sonos family

Has anyone actually been in a position to compare floor stands for Sonos One Speakers, in terms of build quality, functionality and aesthetic appearance. I have seen products advertised from four different manufacturers, but haven’t actually seen any of them ‘in the flesh’. The images that accompany the advertisements online are not that informative really and its therefore difficult to compare. I have a pair of Sonos One’s and am looking to invest in stands, but would like to get some informed opinions from those 'in the know' so to speak, before buying.

Hello, I currently have the Play:1 and the Heos 1 on my desk for listening comparison. I first received the Sonos speaker 'cause I read a lot of good about this little guy and the whole system. Firt I have been impressed with the strengh of this small speaker: sound is precise, the bass are hammering very neatly.... but but but i quickly found that the vocals/trebles were kind of muffled... I have been listening old rock from the 70's or 80 french pop. I was bothered because for the rest, the speaker is really nice. To get the end of it, I ordered a Heos 1 side by side comparison (thks to Spotify app that allows to switch from one speaker to another instantly 🙂 ). I received a Playbar for Christmas and was told my 2006 model Sony Bravia is not compatible with the Player. May I use the Playbar for music only connected to my other Sonos speakers?

Hello, I am a long time user of Sonos and have loved your product since it it came out. I am running a Sonos Bridge with 2 Sonos Play5 speakers. I recently tried to play music and noticed no status light on my Bridge. The networks lights on the back of the bridge are ON but the light on the top of the bridge isnt. Instead it's a faded white blinking light. I physically connected my speakers to my router and was able to connect with no issues. However, I cant connect the Bridge. I've tried rebooting the router and modem but no luck. I just sent over my support diagnostics, confirmation number 8419155. Please let me know what I can try to get my system back up and running. I’m looking for someone with experience listening to music through a SONOS 5.1 system using PLAY:5’s. The 5.1 system with PLAY:1’s turned all the way up playing tunes sounds awesome, I want to know in what ways the PLAY:5’s would improve the 5.1 music listening experience.

I bought a Sonos One and I was hoping to use my Piooner NA50AE digital player to stream the music. The player uses both Chromecast and Flare Connect. Obviously a high steam environment with lots of moisture around. Can I use a Sonos speaker here if it's mounted high up on the wall where only steam is an issue?

HI Can you use a Sonos Playbar with just one Play1 as surround instead of two?  I only have one Play 1 st present and what to use it as a left surround for the playbar but i cant seem to get it to work.  I can add it but it does not output anything so i was thinking that it only becase active once you add the second? Can someone confirm if you can have a Sonos Playbar with just one Play1 as a surround (Left). Thanks Mark

We have a Play:1 at work and the other day the bass on the speaker blew. Seems odd that the volume control on such a compact system could blow the speaker. Is there any way to get it fixed or get credit towards a new one?

Really disappointed Sonos are price gouging on this. It's $349 in the US but you're selling it for £349 in the UK - that's over £100 at today's exchange rate. By drawing attention to the large Apple price - you're fleecing UK purchasers. Stuart

I have a playbar and one Sonos Play 1. I´d like to buy another play 1 or sonos one, to complete a home theater system. Will I have any problems with using two different types of speakers or are they equal in sound quality? Are the two speakers compatible with eachother soundwise?

I have recently got Sonos play 3 and to my disappointment it lack versatility on every single level. Can't play any music unless it is through the dreadful and unusable app supplied by Sonos. It's integration with Spotify leaves a lot to be desired and the fact that I'm unable to play music direct from laptop makes this purchase even more pointless. Maybe I should of done my research better but a product that cost this amount of money should be far more versatile and there is no excuse that app should be so bad when it advertises itself as fully integrating with Spotify. I will certainly not be purchasing anymore speakers in the future and most likely be adding my Play 3 to eBay.

Hiya, I've been reading the Community and I think I've come to a decision but if I don't ask the question, I might kick myself later. I currently have Sonos in my living room (Playbar, Sub and 2x Play 1s). I'm moving from a flat to a house and plan to expand. My original thoughts were to replace the 1s in my surround sound setup in the living room with 3s and then put the 1s in the bedroom. However, after reading some threads here, it seems I wouldn't get any benefit from having 3s as rear surround sound speakers. Then I read somewhere that 1s are as good as 3s and not to bother with 3s at all. So now I'm thinking 1s everywhere. Then I decided I couldn't possibly have a kitchen without Sonos. SO! I want to have a pair of speakers in there. 1s or 3s, that's again, the question. I don't have space really for a 5. I mean, I don't really have space for much, its a tiny house. I'm totally answering my own question here but if I buy 4 Play 1s, I just want to know I'm not missing

Can't get my new Sonos One with Alexa to work properly. It worked fine at first. I try to go through the setup procedures but cannot get the light to flash green. I wanted to try resetting it and starting again.

Does anyone else think that Sonos need to look at some kind of bathroom speaker unit. As an electrician I realise that this may cause some problems mainly because of the fact that genarally speaking we are going to all be missing the main ingredient that is somewhere to plug it in, but maybe a low voltage system where a transformer can be remotely plugged in external to the bathroom or maybe just popped up into the ceiling like a lighting transformer would. I also realise that there is the Sonos connect amp but like me I’m sure that most people wouldn’t want to buy new speakers & then have to spend another few hundred pound in order to connect it to the Sonos system & just for good measure throw in some voice activation like Alexa.

Does anyone think it would be good idea to have a system that is WiFi enabled or with the option To use it by Bluetooth if WiFi is not available. We all have these fantastic speakers but what happens if no WiFi it’s just a box or maybe an offline mode possibly using Bluetooth. I realise that one of the selling features is no dropouts like Bluetooth causes due to emails text messages or push notifications but this is for a backup, also what about the market that doesn’t have WiFi not everyone does maybe 90% + I would think but never the less.
