The proposal is to allow Sonos Voice Control (SVC) to forward voice commands to an external system via a configurable webhook. When a user issues a voice command containing a specific keyword or prefix (for example, “Home”, “Assistant”, or a custom wake phrase), Sonos would send the recognized text (or resolved intent) to a predefined HTTPS URL.This URL would typically point to Home Assistant, where the command can be processed further. At that level (Home Assistant), users and developers could: Parse the incoming text or intent. Route it to a custom AI/LLM or rules engine. Trigger smart-home automations, scenes, or complex logic. Build a local or hybrid AI assistant tailored to their own smart-home environment. Key characteristics of the idea: No access to Sonos’ internal voice engine is required. Sonos retains full control over wake word detection, speech-to-text, and privacy. Only explicitly opted-in commands (based on keyword or prefix) are forwarded. Communication is one
I purchased the BK 402A and it is not outputting sound through my Sonos soundbar. It seems that the audio output is not working. The equipment I have is: a Sonos Arc Ultra soundbar, an Optoma UHD38x projector, and an Apple TV 4K.I connected the projector to OUT1 (eARC), the Sonos soundbar to INPUT eARC1, and the Apple TV to INPUT 2. The sound is coming out of the projector instead of the soundbar. The eARC button is turned on.From what I have read and understood, everything appears to be connected correctly,
I am trying to follow the instructions here to add a Google Nest Mini in a room which has an old Play 1 for voice control.I can’t for the life of me add it in the Sonos app. Basically I get to the stage where I go into my Sonos app, General Settings add voice assistant. One of the devices on my system is an Arc, which has the ability to install / have Google Assistant. So when I select Settings->General Settigns->Voice Assistants->Add a voice assistant->Google Assistant it comes up with a prompt ‘select a room to add Google Assistant’ and presents me with the room with the Arc in.There is no option to add my Nest Mini. I must be missing something but for the life of my I’ve got no idea what I need to do.
I’m still pretty new to Sonos. I’ve set up two home theaters in my house, one upstairs and one downstairs. Downstairs I have an arc ultra, a mini sub and two era 100s. Upstairs I have a beam, a mini sub and two era 100s. I have a couple of era 300s but I haven’t unboxed yet because I’m trying to decide where I want to use them. I was chatting with a neighbor who told me that she bought some Sonos speakers that were used once for a Super Bowl party, then put back into their boxes, never to be used again. She didn’t really know what kind of speakers she had, but I took a peek and it’s an arc a sub and two Sonos ones. They look and sound perfect. She plans to put them on marketplace for $700 to recoup about half of what she paid, but said she’s let me have them for $450. My questions is whether I can use this equipment with my newer speakers?I don’t need another arc but I could use the Sonos ones in my office, but, having a sub sounds is what has me considering this. Unless I’m missing so
Why is voice control unable to play podcasts from integrated services? Just curious.
I’ve added my sub4 2x era300 arc ultra to app what do I need to do in the app to finish it offthank-youin advance
how to change my Beam Gen 2 connected with 2 Era 300 for arc ultra for Beam, what is the best procedure???
Do yall have any recessed speakers that doesn’t require speaker wire to the speakers
Hey Sonos, hear me out... (this will never work but, let's try it anyway). To regain trust from your customers after the App redesign, you could decide to open up your systems to OpenHome and allow users to add their custom voice assistant with home assistant. This would be huge, there is a big community of makers and your devices are great and will easily be adopted as main voice assistant devices. If you compare the quality of a Sonos Era or One SL to the voice assistant preview from home assistant... it's like night and day.Let us add a custom voice assistant via API to our devices, people don't care much anymore about Google Home or Alexa. Let us have privacy and customization.Sincerely, one happy customer that would love this feature.Cross Post also on reddit:https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/1k16vzs/home_assistant_voice/
I know how to go in and clear queues for each speaker/group but my question is if there is a way to quickly clear ALL queues in the system and ungroup all speakers - almost like a system “reset” but not affecting settings or anything like that. Just untrue and reset all speakers to nothing playing and no queue. Thanks!
Can we please get center channel control on the Arc Ultra, it’s currently set 4-6dB too loud! Which makes it so loud over music and any panning vocals or voices.
So the latest App release for IOS (81.00.52) says that it now includes re-intstatement of the much requested ‘save your queue as a playlist’.However, having updated both App and Sonos system I am still none the wiser as to how this can be achieved. I tried tapping on the ‘queue’ icon at the bottom left of the now playing screen. This displays the queue, but no new controls have been added to the queue screen (still just shuffle, repeat, and clear).Anyone have any ideas how the queue can be saved? Is it buried away in some other sub-menu somewhere?
I just got a Sonos Line-In Adapter which I want to use to attach between the analog line out of a small radio and a laptop. I then want to pass the signal through the laptop to a bluetooth amp.I started out first just trying to get the signal to the laptop and selecting the audio capture device with VLC. I had just one option on the drop down list, hw,0,0. I selected that and could hear the signal with earphones and it sounded OK.I later ran into some issues making the bluetooth connection and it looks to be an issue with a missing dependency. I tried a number of suggestions and uninstalled and reinstalled some drivers, etc. It still doesn’t connect to the amp via bluetooth.I went back to VLC and the signal from the radio through the Sonos adapter. I noticed two things. First there was lots of static and noise and I could hear the signal, but it was very weak. I also noticed in the drop down box there were two options listed, hw,0,0 and hw1,0. The first one had all the noise and if I
Hi there, I have a Sonos move 1 and i've been using it with much joy. But since a week or so I've had troubles with playing music with google assistant on my move. I have re-synced my sonos with the assistant in the Sonos app AND i've reconnected the Sonos app in my Google Home. (Done this twice now)Everytime I ask it to play it says:'’Sorry, I can't do that on this device'’ When playing music from the Sonos app I can in fact skip songs, lower volume or stop the music. I've called support and they told me they can't help me, because I've done the steps they would do. Does someone know how to make it work again.
I have a beam 2 would 2 100s or a mini sub be better to listen to music from Spotify...just starting out in the Sonos world
Hi, Today I tried to play music through Alexa and it said it couldn't because I didn't have internet, but after I tried with Sonos assistant and Sonos could. I removed my account and when I tried to log back into Amazon it gave me error 400, but I searched and there was no outage. Is anyone else having this problem?
After the recent Sonos system update all voice enabled devices have failed to install or load Google Assistant. Sonos support is blaming Google due to Gemini and Google is blaming Sonos for a very poor app link integration. Shockingly Amazon Alexa and Sonos Voice work fine but for users who have all of their home automation on Google Assistant/Google Home they are screwed again. Please resolve this issue!
BIG delay sound in mode line in "jack" on PC
My setup is a Beam and Era 300’s ( no sub) in surround sound mode in one room . In other rooms, I have Era 100’s. I woudl like to add an AT-LP3XBT turntable to the mix.I could direct connect the turntable to the Beam, but not the other speakers. Is it possible to:Direct connect the Beam and through it include all of the other speakers? Wirelessly do the same thing? Other alternative?
Hi I leave in Greece Both of services Alexa and Google home are not available What is going on?
When I cast from an music app via wifi I can't find sonos arq in the list. Arc is connected to my TV and therefore the TV starts every time I cast music. So I am getting sound through sonos Arc but because of the TV which is connected to arc. I would like to directly stream from android app to arc. Are there any settings in the sonos app?
Wondering if Sonos ever improved their Android app? I haven’t been forced to do any updates but honestly haven’t used my system much since the app destroyed my listening experience. Sonos was not responsive to my concerns. The old app worked perfectly.
Hi all,I’m looking for a bit of real-world advice before upgrading part of my Sonos setup.I currently have: 2 × Play:1 1 × Play:3 Sonos One Sonos Port Era 300 We’ve recently switched over to Apple Music and are mostly using AirPlay / Apple Music integration alongside the Sonos app.I’m considering replacing the two Play:1s with two Era 100s, and I’m trying to get a feel for whether the upgrade is genuinely worthwhile.A couple of questions I’d really appreciate views on:1. Sound quality:Is the jump in sound quality from Play:1 → Era 100 actually noticeable in day-to-day listening, particularly with Apple Music (lossless / Atmos where applicable)? Or is it more of an incremental improvement?2. Apple Music & stability:Since switching to Apple Music, I’ve noticed occasional dropouts or odd behaviour when: Switching between the Sonos app and controlling playback directly from Apple Music Adding/removing rooms mid-playback For those who’ve moved from older speakers (Play:1 / Pla
I had the S1 app for many years - all was working fine with Alexa. I could ask Alexa to play “x” on “y” room.I upgraded some of my Sonos ecosystem - but couldn’t afford to upgrade all to S2 app compatibility. Therefore I have 3 speakers on S1 and the rest on S2. But that seems to have created a problem where all Sonos elements show as ‘online’ on the list devices page - but when I click into each speaker/amp/etc - they are all offline. I have only linked the S2 system with Alexa.I have completed the steps below: Turned off phoneApp versions - up to dateDisabled enabled skill in AlexaRemoved and added speaker to Alexa appAdded Alexa skill in sonosReset networkTurned everything off and on Diagnostic data ****************** Given that I’ve spent a few hours to get something that I use maybe once a day - is it worth pursuing? Thanks. Since Sonos Voice Control was released, it has responded to 100% of my first command after saying “Hey Sonos”. (Unless of course I asked it something it couldn't do, that's on me, not it) However, while it’s sitting there in “Follow up/Continued Conversation” mode? It never EVER registers my second command. For example. Having music playing then saying “Hey Sonos, Switch to TV Input” CHIME and it does it. Then while the light is still on, I say something like “Volume Thirty Percent” or “Set Volume To Thirty Percent” and after I’m done the light goes out and nothing happens. EVER.But if I say “Hey Sonos” for both commands? It has the audacity to tell me that I don’t need to say Hey Sonos each time……. 😒This has been like this since it launched. Over 3 years now. I believe sonos voice assistant hasn't been updated since 1.1 (Will be three whole years in Feb) Anyone Else?
