Looks like we are looking at the question differently.

I saw it as which would be better to add to the Beam.

You looked it as setting up two different Rooms, Beam and 100s or adding the mini to the Beam Room.

I have several Rooms set up, just a Beam, just 100s and Beam and full Sub.

-- The Beam alone is pretty decent for music, it does come up a bit short in stereo separation compared to a Pair of speakers. Depending on the room size the low end is adequate or a bit lacking.

-- The 100s Room does have better stereo imaging if you are sitting in the sweet-spot, if outside that spot the 100s and Beam are both decent. The 100s do have a slightly better low end but while noticeable if you are listening for it and A/B testing the two it isn't really apparent to me when walking between the two rooms while playing the same music.

-- The Beam and Sub Room is a very different matter, the Sub adds so much impact to the music, particularly if it has a lot of low frequency content, well to me it is a huge improvement. While I have no mniSubs I do have full sized ones in every room I could fit one into.

That leaves the actual selection depending on the listener's preferences. Neither option is a bad choice.

Music, the miniSub. The surrounds would do more for 5.1 movies.

For music, two Era 100s will make a much bigger difference than a Mini Sub — stereo separation and clarity improve a lot. The Sub Mini is great later if you want more bass, but I’d start with the 100s first.
