I'm in love with my current SONOS setup, but there is still one device I'd love to connect to my system: my pc. I've tried a Connect to play sound attached to a video (for example from Youtube) through my speakers and while it works, there is a noticable delay (even with all the help settings). If I try the same thing with my Playbar, it works perfectly thanks to the digital input. Isn't it time to release a Connect 2.0? All digital? You have the technology (as proven by the Playbar), it shouldn't be too much problems to put it all together in a new Connect.
To use the Connect:amp as a complete living room audio solution, it needs a digital input with its next hardware update. For example I would like to hookup my passive speakers to my TV, without having to manually turn on my receiver. In that case I would need digital input in the connect:AMP for easy setup, and then I wouldnt need a receiver at all and be able to stream music through the connect:amp without having to turn on the TV. It could be done just with a fiber optic input port, or even better with hdmi pass through. Of course with support for digital audio content like DTS. (I know that the playbar will do the job, but want to use my existing speakers)
Apple have just released into BETA Home Kit. This is a selection of dev tools to help integrate smart home products together. Hopefully plans are coming together to integrate this into the iOS app. It would be interesting to see what users think to this.
I am interested in getting some Sonos equipment, but not necessarily the most expensive. I would like speakers in 3 rooms, and think 1 speaker in each would be fine. The options are a bit overwhelming, so would like input from those who have experience. Ideally, I would like to play one channel (from Calm) on all 3 simultaneously. I might start with 2 rooms, and then add one later, depending upon the cost. Thanks. Ruth McClain

We currently use a handful of Sonos players throughout our office. It would be great if Sonos integrated with Slack so the song playing on a specific player (or group) could get pushed into a Slack channel.
Playbar sound won't stop after TV is turned off.
I'm an avid Spotify user. I'd love it if Sonos devices would appear under Spotify->Devices Available
I've seen this topic in the Community asked and discussed in over 100 different ways (OK maybe not 100; but it sounds good for effect) :8 Although I'm not an engineer... I get why Sonos probably isn't going to make it possible to mute the volume of other speakers that are not BONDED; but GROUPED to the Playbar via the same remote that controls it (when watching TV). For those of us who already own Sonos it's not just a matter of a firmware upgrade. BMWOT Sonos would have to design each speaker with an RF and/or BT receptor. IR would not work because it requires line-of-sight. There are other concerns for RF and BT signals but this is not the venue for that discussion. But even if Sonos were to make it happen (which someday they may) there is no way to grandfather existing Sonos speakers already in the field. To do so would require a massive recall/retrofit; which IMO would not be cost-effective for either side (i.e. Sonos or existing owners) However, there's a work-a-roun
Please can you provide an option to disable the play/pause button on my Play:1 and Play:5. I can't imagine it will take much development time. My cat tends to walk over the Play/Stop button and starts playing the music on my queue, and then for good measure sits on the volume button. I have come home from work to irate neighbours on several occasions - apparently they don't share his taste in music 🙂
Sloved / Solution in page 3. Hello, Who has a success with updating the Sonos 3.7 on Ubuntu + Wine desktop ? From my side, I get : - in the wine windows "The wizard was interrupted before Sonos ..." and - on shell "fixme:ole:DllRegisterServer stub fixme:storage:create_storagefile Storage share mode not implemented. fixme:storage:create_storagefile Storage share mode not implemented. wine: Install Mono 2.8 or greater for Windows to run .NET 4.0 applications. err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"InstallFinalize" returned 1627 err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"ExecuteAction" returned 1627 " Could you please help me ? Sonos needs a device that the only purpose is to accept input from any device via mini/rca/optical and add it to the sonos system. I have Sonos Play:1 throughout my house and i cant even send audio to it from my old ipod/ video audio/ etc.
I have 30 alarms and cannot add another, i get "unable to add alarm, please try again later" via windows and IPAD app - is this a limit?
I would argue that the most fundamental user action when using music software is to click on a song. In 6.4 there are at least 3 possible outcomes: 1. Overwrite the queue with that song and all others on the same album (queue not edited); 2. Ask for confirmation of item 1 (queue has been edited); 3. Place the song in the queue and start playing (when you click on a song as the result of a search). In cases 1 and 2, additional songs overwrite the queue. In case 3, just a single song is inserted. The Sonos UI is therefore inconsistent and counter-intuitive. The argument that this behavior makes the app more like Spotify, iTunes etc misses the point that the Sonos music system is designed to be used by groups of people as well as individuals. It needs to act as a jukebox as well as an ipod. Here's one possible solution: swap the actions of pressing a song and pressing the dots. This returns pressing a song to the old and familiar action. The dots graphic would also be chan
I already spoke with Sonos support so I know it is not currently possible, but how would I go about requesting the following functionality be added? Currently I have a Playbar + two speakers in the rear of the room controlled by a Connect:AMP. If I set up the rear speakers as surrounds, I can control the 3 speakers with the TV remote but they will only work as surrounds in TV mode and I would like them to work in stereo (playing the same content as the playbar). I see that someone had requested the ability of these surrounds to play in stereo mode for music and that functionality has now been added to the software; playing the surrounds in "Full" mode instead of "Ambient", but that only applies to music and not TV. The other option of course is to use the rear speakers as a separate zone and group them with the Playbar. This gives me the effect I want (all stereo), but then the TV remote only controls the Playbar, and I have to use my phone to adjust the volume in the rea
Now that I've got a new router (Netgear N300 WNR2200 Wireless Router), the Android & PC controller will not connect when using WiFi, but it does work from the PC when using a wired connection. (I have tried resetting the controller, turning uPnP off, power cycling everything etc.)
I have everything connected but the app can't find the play 1 speakers x2. I have checked wifi connection. I have connected one speaker to the LAN also. Still nothing....
I have a Playbar grouped with two sets of Connect:AMP speakers but I would like the ability to Pair (or some hybrid of grouping and pairing) them, even if surround sound wasn't supported, so the Connect:AMP speakers would also mute when I mute TV sound on the Playbar using the TV remote. Thanks!!!
I think it would be good to be able to link the playbar and sub, to a single play3, play5 as a bonded group The issue I'm having is when controlling the playbar with an tv remote it will only change the volume of the playbar and not the play3 grouped with it. After abit of searching I found some people having the same problem but not found anyway it has been suggested as an idea
Trying to change the name and it doesnt work
Recently none of my iTunes playlists are imported into Sonos. All music tracks have been imported but not the playlists. All music and iTunes data are in My Music folder. Can someone help?
If i need to temporarily unplug a sonos component that is already configured and working, is there a re-start up procedure, or will it reboot itself when it is plugged back in?
A Sonos customer suggested: metal grill instead of a fabric cover for the Sonos PLAYBAR. Leave your support here.
Hello folks, I don't actually have a problem that needs solving at the moments, and I'd like to try to keep it that way. I am more or less by accident about to become a Sonos user and while I think I have a handle on what I'm doing, the more I read, the more I wonder... I recently upgraded my wireless router (to a Fritz!box 7490), and discovered shortly thereafter that my trusty old internet radio no longer worked. The issue is one of supported wifi encryption standards and is unsolvable. So, I've been shopping for a replacement internet radio, and on a whim looked through the catalogue for my credit card's rewards program. They had, and I have ordered (but not yet received) a Play:1 intended to be used as a stand alone device in the family room connected to either a switch or my router both of which are close by. It would be easiest to plug it into a spare 100 meg port on the switch, but would there be any advantage in shuffling things around so I could plug it int
I used to use itunes linked to my vaio media centre to play my music while showing visualistions to my loewe LCD big screen- It was really effective for parties. Now I have a far superior audio system in sonos and the gold standard performance and versatility has blown my friends away. However I would dearly love to use visualisations again. It would only require a software upgrade to the desk top controller to allow this and you would greatly increase the modality of sonos in a multi media sense- and make me happy- plus it should only cost cents in reality. Mull it over.
