Will My New Gen (4/20) Playbase ever have Dolby Atmos?
I wonder if its possible to change this screen to something else? Preferably something more geometric.
Hi there. Does anyone know how the Arc will compare to the Playbar in terms of mounting? I have a Playbar dedicated TV stand: https://www.alphasondesigns.com/brackets-for-sonos-alphason-sonos-playbar-black-tv-stand.html which the Playbar is currently mounted to. I’m interested in upgrading to the Arc, but not if I have to change the TV cabinet too. Any information is greatly appreciated.
With the release of Sonos S2 app, will Playbase support Dolby Atmos?
Hi I have recently purchased a beam and 2 One SL’s. I am loving the system but have one annoying problem. Everything plays fine on Sky Q but when I switch to the Netflix app, (via Sky Q), I have no sound unless I play stereo audio format. Using the Netflix App on my smart TV also plays fine. Not the end of the world as I say I can use the Smart TV app, but was wondering if anyone else had this issue or if I had set something up wrong.
I have a Denon AVR 3500H hard wired to a 7.1 Q acoustic system in my lounge. I also have various sonos speakers throughout my house. if for example I am using the tune in radio through both my Denon and sonos they are out of synch so I have a horrible echo effect when I go from room to room. My thoughts are to use the Denon as the source and set up several zones on it connecting this to a sonos connect or port. That way my music will be in synch as I go from room to room. Would this work or is there a better way to do what I’m after?
So, basically, my question is in the topic. Thank you!
The new Sonos Five coming out in a few weeks has no voice control; why not?
Sonos tells me that my Connect 90 will no longer be supported in May. What Sonos products would be a good replacement for these? I have two of them connected to free standing receivers in remote areas of my home. Thanks
I bought the Beam last year for primarily to get good sound from our main TV a Samsung Q80 75”. Loved it so far. I didn’t want to buy the Playbar since it didn’t have the embedded Alexa which I use to play Amazon Music. I also liked the size because it was only 26”. I would like to consider replacing the Beam with the Arc. (I will move the Beam to another room). The problem I am facing is size. The Arc is 45” length. You will see from the pics that the Beam fits nicely given the cabinet top and the angle of the TV. The TV needs to point at an angle to be able to see correctly from the sofa. (No, can’t move sofa). I specifically bought this Sanus mount, because the extension arm allowed to get beyond the framing of the cabinet. I am unable to deal with the mounting/unmounting of the TV myself. I had to hire a couple of guys to do this. I would prefer not to have to remove it, by hiring people, just to attach a soundbar mount to the TV mount. I am attaching some pics to sho
Hi, Random question, I noticed the Move does not regester any VAT in it’s price. Is it somehow exempt while the other speakers etc are not? Thanks in advance
I have a beam and 2 Sonos play ones. When watching movies the 2 play ones are very loud I can not hear the dialogue coming from the Center speaker on the one. Can I turn down the volume on the ones only?
Hello We have a Sony BRAVIA LCD Digital Colour TV - model no. KDL-40EX713 and a Sony Blu-ray Disc/DVD Home Theatre System - model no. BDV-E870/E370 (but Sony speakers are not present as we use Sonos). Whilst we have had these Sony products for a number of years they are both still in excellent working order. Our problem is linking our Sonos surround sound system (comprising of a subwoofer, Playbase and 2x Play:1s) and also connecting our recently purchased Freesat 4K recordable box. When watching television the systems seems to only want to 'talk to' the Sony home theatre system and, as such, sound is not present via our Sonos surround sound system and plays only from the Sony TV speakers. Similarly, when watching a programme on our new Freesat 4K recordable box, the sound plays once again via the Sony TV speakers only. We have also tried to play a DVD in the Blu-ray player - once again, what used to be great surround sound is now only played through the TV speakers. However,
I was trying to preorder the Arc soundbar and sub utilizing the first responder deal currently ongoing. It shows PayPal as a payment option in cart but only credit card is available when in checkout. I was trying to use PayPal to take advantage of interest free payment. Is this not an option for preorders?
Does anyone know of the new Arc will be able to pair with Play 3 speakers as the surrounds? I have a playbar, sub, and (2) play 3s setup on my tv and am hoping I can just replace the playbar and not the surrounds
Hello Experts :-) I apologize if this question has been asked/answered already, however I was unable to locate anything specific about my scenario on the forum. I’ve ordered the Sonos ARC and already have the Apple TV 4K. I am looking to upgrade my TV ...and considering a Samsung (for example: Samsung QN65Q60T) . Samsung support told me they do not support Dolby Atmos. I have a few questions below: 1 - If I connect the Sonos ARC into the eARC port on the Samsung TV, then the Apple TV 4K into another HDMI on the Samsung TV - would I be able to receive Dolby Atmos? 2 - If I connect the Sonos ARC into the eARC port on the Samsung TV and utilize the streaming Apps available on the TV itself, would it be able to output Dolby Atmos? Thank you for your time and insight.
Can the Sonos AMP generate a phantom center speaker with an “optical” tv signal or is this only possible via HDMI ARC connection?
Will Sonos be providing a template for the ARC Sound Bar that will assist to mounting and locating cabling penetration. I want to accurately position the Sound Bar in front of the Display. The counter top is made of hard Quartzite materials and the penetration will need to be accurate for cable routing. The installers will not have the sound bar in there possession.
I replaced my Sonos Connect with a Sonos Port. I used an optical cable to bypass the Sonos DAC (in the Connect) to take the signal to a dedicated Arcam DAC. This option is no longer available with the port, which just has a digital out connection. My question is, can I use an RCA cable instead of a digital coaxial cable (which has an RCA connector anyway).Even if it works, can I be certain that this will not damage either my port or Arcam DAC?
iPad using ios 9.3.5 working fine now... don't want to lose it (as I did my desktop running OS 10.6.8 How to stop or block updates that will (UNANNOUNCED) obsolete my hardware? I can not see an off switch on the setting screen in v9.1 controller which INSISTED I UPDATE MY SYSTEM and apparently only updated the SPEAKERS? It was working fine before so why did I need an update?
If I pre order the Arc, will it be charged to my credit card immediately or when it actually ships?
To the staff at Sonos - So I am planning the purchase of tuner/amp for my new home to be connected to the a sonos system and Samsung Q6DR 4K QLED TV. I have had Yamaha and Onkyo tuners in the past, but have read some previous theads it seems Sonos has had some problems connecting with Yamaha tuners, but I really like the Yamaha RX - A780 Receiver but am hesitate to purchase it if it will not connect to the Sonos system. PLEASE ADVISE.
Hi, After getting a new Apple Macbook I got Catalina OSX. When I installed Sonos Controller for OSX, OSX App cannot find my existing Sonos System. My Sonos System is updated to 11.1, I checked my firewall, added Sonos there but no go. Is there a solution? Regards, Aras
Hi All, I have bought multiple in ceiling speakers to be build in my newly build house. But, i was wondering if these speakers are in need of a backbox? I cannot find this online and as far as my knowledge reaches about speakers and the working of it, i would say it is nescessary? Thanks in advance!
Hi there, I’ve just got rid of my archaic surround sound system and, after research, want to buy the Sonos Beam. However I’ve heard that Sonos may introduce a Dolby Atmos version next month and I’ll kick myself if I’ve bought one in May to find a Dolby Atmos version available in June! Is it likely that this will be the Playbar not the beam? And any idea on cost? The Beam is probably about as much as I’m happy to spend. Thank you!
