Hi there, will Sonos support WPA3? If there is support, which devices will get an WPA3 support/update? thanks a lot
I recently purchased 2 very nicely used gen 1 Play 5’s for my basement for $300 (US) for the pair. Did I make a mistake? My budget is limited. Should I sell the gen 1’s and buy 1 gen 3 Play 5 for $500? Do you recommend any other options? Thanks for your time, Rayskies
I just recently purchased a SHIELD TV Pro. I've had my ARC since launch and everything has worked fine on all other sources (ATV 4K, Internal TV apps). I have my ARC connected via eARC to my LG GX. I'm not getting any system sounds, but I am getting sounds from Kodi. Other apps such as YouTube do not have any sound at all. I haven't messed with the audio settings on my SHIELD, but I don't see anything that would be symptomatic of causing only Kodi to initiate sound and not the other apps. My only thought is that the LG GX recently updated to support LPCM through eARC and I know there are compatibility issues between the ARC and the eARC capable LG OLEDs. Any help would be appreciated!
Hi just replaced my living room playbase with the arc. I haven't had any problems previously but now anytime I'm watching TV the audio starts dropping out with a short static sound. Seems to be coming from the arc and rears. This happens while watching Netflix, prime, Vudu, and Plex. But does not happen if streaming tidal or yt music. I have a Samsung q75 2018 Arc / gen 2 sub / 2 ones. I use 2019 Nvidia shield to watch everything. Shield to HDMI 1 on TV. Arc to hdmi4 arc port on TV. I've looked at the network matrix and it's all green. But I don't know much else about that. I have unifi network, I only have 1 Sonos hardwired. Please help! Diag 778910189 I've rebooted my network and all Sonos a few times. Re-tuned a few times. Swapped cables. Made sure all firmware is up to date.
per the image below, i am creating a niche to recess mount my 77” tv - the bottom of the niche will be at 25” from the floor - given the recommendation to place the Arc 4” below the bottom of the tv, am i ok to mount the Arc at ~21” from the floor or is that too low? thank you in advance for your input...
I have existing wired surround sound including a front center that is imbedded into my fireplace (5 speakers total plus wired sub). I have three Sonos amps to power all of them (and some outdoor speakers) using the ARC HDMI input as suggested/required. I don’t always love the way the voice can get a bit dampened and hard to hear due to the background noise or music with this set up. However, I LOVE when it plays music with this set up. I have considered getting the Arc sound bar for better voice quality and because my TV mount has an empty place for it and looks funny without one. My questions are: Will all of this work together or will it be an either/or scenario? If it all will work together, is this going to be massive overkill or will it sound great? I am not so much worried about cost (spending $$ for the ARC beam, I mean), as I already have a lot invested and just want the best option. Because my wired speakers are imbedded and visible and great, I do not want to upgrade to wir
Hi All, I bought a few items on Friday all of which are either on back order or pre order. I understand that I may not be charged right now until they ship, but I also did not even receive an order confirmation email. As you can imagine, this is concerning, but I think Sonos must have gotten my order since they charged my card $1.00. Is this normal? I have tried calling the line and spent a cumulative 2 hours on hold.
I can't dismiss the Sonos android notification anymore.
I have a Sony XBR-65X930D purchased around January 2017. I recently upgraded to the Arc soundbar. If I have an Apple TV 4K can I pass through Dolby Digital Plus via the HDMI Arc? As I understand it, it is possible. However, Atmos lossless is not possible because the tv is not supported and there is no eArc. I ask because I was running some tests and audio seems to only be coming out as Dolby Digital 5.1. I was watching Space Force via Netflix and I would think it would be in Dolby Digital Plus. Are there any changes I need to make on the Apple TV and/or TV?
Hello there. I’ve got a Sonos One updated to S2. I was thinking about getting a Tidal sub for the sound quality. I know there was talk of S2 including the new ability for Sonos speakers to play high fidelity streams. Has that now happened? If I play a Tidal HiFi account through my Sonos One will I get the HiFi quality stream? Is that now live ? Thanks for any help.
I have an Arc+Two Sonos SLs. My router is an ASUS RT-AC88U. I continue to receive errors connecting the devices in a surround sound setup. All firmware is up to date on router and Sonos devices. App is up to date. My connection quality is strong on all devices (40dbm) and I have played around with different frequencies and channels to reduce interference. Internet speeds are fine. I live in an apartment and aside from the 15 devices I have connected I have 10 available WiFi networks in range. So despite my efforts on picking an channel that is not congested, it still probably is. I ordered a boost but don’t feel like I should need it. Any suggestions?
Hi ordered a Sonos ARC but then I’ve found stock in another store so now I wanted to cancel my order here in the website. However I can’t find any option to cancel it. I contacted Sonos support who told me to use the order confirmation email to make modifications to the order, but I never received that email… so as off today, I have no way to cancel the order. Seems a little bit odd. Anyone is facing the same problem?
hey guys, I’m not getting atmos on my new Sonos Arc. My setup is as follows: -TV Samsung UN65KS8000 -Sonos Arc connected via the TV’s Arc Port -2017 Nvidia Shield connected via HDMI (from what I read it’s compatible via audio passthrough) -streaming: netflx, disney+, prime All apps have been updated. Any suggestions to get atmos working?
I have a Beam + Sub for TV an two Play 5s (vertically) for music listening. Sometimes I pair the Sub with the two Play 5s and everytime I think “Wow, that’s much more fullness of sound”, but the Beam needs the Sub more than my Play 5s and unfortunately with Sonos you have to make a decision unless you want to unpair, pair and use Trueplay every time you want to switch. So my idea to get a fixed setup for TV and music: Selling the Play 5s and buy the Sonos Arc for TV (hoping it has enough Bass for enjoying TV, but I guess it has) and pairing two Play Ones with the Sub (I like the Ones and think they even look better than the two Play 5s). To cut a long story short, my actual question is: Can you compare two Play 5s (used vertically) with Sub with two Ones with Sub in terms of Sound? I already had both setups in use but never had a chance for a direct comparison.
The only issue noted with my Arc installation relates eARC settings. The LG C9 display has eARC capabilities. If "passthrough” is set to “on” and eARC is also "on” then the audio signal from the xfinity cable box persists on the Arc even after turning off the LG display. Since I don't have a need for eARC in my system, I can turn it off without a problem, but it feels like a bug. The Arc replaced a Beam in my system, and the Beam didn't have this problem.
I have a sonos Arc plus Sub, but i wish to know how is the experience with the surrounds, but im afraid i will left the feeling of the sound coming from left and right from the Arc soundbar, im very happy with the soundstage Arc produces, but i have not clear how the sound will be redirected to ssurrounds, they left Arc without the ambient feeling?. any experiences? thank you!
I just feel as if my Gen 2 sub is severely lacking. Added it to Arc yesterday and do not have the recalibrate option that from what I can tell is common with Mac or iPhone. I do not have android device...
I download the S2 app, I did he installation and the I execute the app. I enter in the app, but I can not to do anything. The next picture shows the screen with the “use condition” but I cant to go the next step into the sonos setup. What is wrong???
What is the need for a sonos bridge
Hello. I have the Sonos AMP and i just ordered the sonos arr and the subwoofer. Quick question. Can I have all these systems together? turn on my tv on a HDMI Input (Applte TV) and be able to listen the in ceiling speakers with subwoofer and the arc soundbar? IF YES, Do i need to run the HDMI from the soundbar to the TV? or a HDMI from the AMP to the ARC tv port on the tv? I am new to sonos and i really get confused with this info. THanks
I am trying to figure out which of my Sonos products are not compatible with S2. I downloaded the S2 app, but it tells me it found products on my network that are not compatible with S2. I’ve looked at the compatibility page, and it appears all my products should be compatible with S2 - I have a number of Play1’s, Play5’s (2nd gen), playbars and subs. My full product list is below. Which one(s) is not compatible? I am thinking about selling my 6 speakers and bridge. What is your experience, can I expect to get decent money for it? Too many problems with speakers disconnecting, the loss of trust with “legacygate” plus the fact that Sonos doesn’t allow me to stream what I want has finally made me decide to get off the train.
I have the Arc & Sub but only get Dolby 5.1 because my 2014 Vizio p702ui-b3 only has ARC with no passthrough and am very happy with the sound anyway so decided to add One surrounds. I have Just enough room behind my couch for the Ones, but no room further behind the couch and was worried that putting the them immediately behind my couch would be too close and not worth it. When I got them I set them on the floor immediately behind my couch facing up unobstructed (since I had no stands yet), ran trueplay and they sounded great and immensely added to the soundstage. I find the Ones a worthy addition to the Arc & Sub notwithstanding my surround placement limitations. Since I decided they were keepers I sprung for Sanus stands and put the Ones in the same position behind my couch on the stands and ran trueplay again. I found that the sound was much more localized on the stands immediately behind my couch so I then spread them about 3 feet away from each end of the couch angled tow
Dear Sonos Community I want to set up a sonos sound system at home, but need a little help. I have a turntable with a phono preamp and a samsung tv 6 series (ue50ku6072). My aim is to have just one main sonos speaker (ideally the play 5 or the beam). I know that the play 5 is not suitable for TV. Would this problem be solved if I bought a sonos port and connect the tv and the turntable with this port? Sorry about my layman’s term and many thanks for your help. All the best
