Hi, The version 7.4 of Windows Controller freezes every now and then. If you guys get the Windows Error Reporting(WER), you might be seeing this across your customers. If you are not yet using WER, here's some info: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb513641(v=vs.85).aspx Observed the freezes on two devices, here's sample event log entries from the device I'm writing this with: The program Sonos.exe version 6.0.0.34230 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel. Here's your warning, Apple device users... this is an Apple requirement, not a Sonos one... starting in July, any app updates will require iOS 11. So if you have a device that isn't running it, the time to update to iOS 11 is coming soon. And if your device can't run iOS 11, be prepared to not be able to update to the latest version of the app starting in July. http://developer.apple.com/news/?id=05072018a&1525716802
I would like to try connecting Sonos One and Bose Cinemate 130 using Sonos Connect to get audio on the Bose Sound bar and the paired two Sonos Ones. Has anyone tried this? I don't want to sell my Cinemate to get Playbase/Playbar.
On mobile controller apps, there's now a feature where, when you select stuff to play, you get a "Play to the following" prompt that asks you which zones you want the selection to play in. Useful if you're playing different songs in different rooms, really annoying if you tend to just use Sonos to play throughout the house. Thankfully, there's a setting - "Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Confirm location before playback" - that lets you toggle this behaviour on or off. So far, so good. I leave this setting off. And I just got hit with the popup, because the setting had turned itself on. Not for the first time (after the last two updates, I found the setting turning itself on if I left my Sonos almost a day without use, because "work"). This only seems to be an issue on iPad, not iPhone, and even deleting and re-installing the app hasn't fixed things. It's an annoyance, but it also makes me wonder what other settings could be resetting themselves. Is anyone else having issues wit
We are looking to spend about $1k to begin a Sonos sound system in our large home. Currently we have a decent stereo with two 17-year-old Klipsch speakers and a Yamaha HTR 5240 receiver (which was a freebie from a family member after our other very expensive receiver broke) in the family room, where the TV is. We run the TV audio through that receiver. We have a Tivoli radio with a line in (no bluetooth) in the kitchen. Main living space has open floor plan with a kitchen, dining room, and large living room with no TV. The living room is 24' X 15.' We want speakers in the main living area, connectivity to the family room stereo, a speaker in one bathroom, our kids' bedroom, and our own large bedroom where there is also a TV. The router is currently in a hall that adjoins living room and kitchen. We want to be able to stream Spotify and Audible; we're not as concerned about the bedroom TV being connected. We currently have no speakers at all in the bedrooms or bathrooms -- we
Design a new piece of equipment that doesn't have lithium battery issues but functions like the CR100.
I recently bought a White Sonos Sub and love it. Problem is I'm moving and now Black will fit in better in my new place. The sub is only 5 months old and has barely been used. Can anyone make any recommendations on places where I might find someone willing to trade? Thanks in advance!
Fire tablet as controller running latest (like I have a choice!) version Sonos app. Ever since the EVIL update months back that took our beloved software away, I have had problems with the Now Playing screen staying UP and FRONT. Once I stop music, at some random point (who knows because I don't sit there and stare at it), the (nice and BLACK) Now Playing screen drops DOWN and reveals a lousy white "home" screen (not sure if that is what it is called). To start playback again, I have to arrow up to bring back the Now Playing screen. The Now Playing screen used to stay UP all the time unless I changed it. Now, it's always down when I need it. Is this by design or is there a setting to keep Now Playing UP?
Guys, Right when I made a choice buy a Playbar or Playbase, i stumble upon Denon Heos Bar review. It got high praises. Can it steal (no pun intended) Sonos place at a market? Neven
I was recently impressed when my daughter threw Channel 4 on my ipad onto her TV via an Apple TV box. I have two Play:3 speakers and a Boost in my lounge. My question is: can I throw Channel 4 onto my TV via Playbase with audio out to my Play:3 speakers? A secondary question must be can I subsequently push my TV audio out to the same Play:3 speakers. Advice and Guidance much appreciated.
Just added a Player 1 and updated my system. Now nothing works. System recognises speakers but I can't play anything. Rebooted as per instructions in other posts but no luck.
Is there a way to connect my Playbar wirelessly? Possibly a bluetooth adapter that plugs into the optical in port?
Alexa echo dot 2 and Sonos One hate each other
can i connect by Sonos to my new Bose wireless headphones?
I like the light background.
1. People talk about an app call Yonomi, which I do not use, because I don't want too many 3rd parties having access to my smart home. 2. Then there's the Samsung Smart home integration. 3. If you have a Lutron Caseta hub already, you can easily create scenes for every function of Sonos which I have done. And then control those thru IFTTT and use specific phrases like, "Hey Google, Play Death Cab, Kitchen" short, simple and not adding a bunch of crud. Then I got to thinking, I don't want to use IFTTT, because I used this in the early stages IFTTT and results were finicky, but now they are pretty solid. 4. Now if you're a programmer with a raspberry pi, you can easily get the node-sonos api on GitHub and basically have a awesome set of features that have existed and people have asked for a long time ago. I'm pretty sure Yonomi borrowed from this source. You could send a broadcast long before the other smart speakers had this feature. You can have it speak a different language e
Hi. Moving into a newly built cottage in June. Trying to decide on the best Sonos package for my needs. Thinking so far. Living Room: Sound Bar + 2 Ones + Sub package. Kitchen: 2 x Ones + 1 x Spot or Dot Main Bathroom: 1 x One Bedrooms: A One in each room Just a couple of questions please: Is it possible to create a stereo pair from a One and a Play One? Ideally I'd like to be able to take and make mobile calls across the Sonos speakers. Am I correct in thinking this is possible with an Amazon Spot or Dot connected to a One? Would a call's sound come through the Sonos speakers in the kitchen rather than the Dot/Spot? I had considered a 5 for the kitchen as I like bass and depth in my music. The general consensus seems to be that I'd miss stereo sound more if I were to do that, so at the mo I'm opting for 2 x Ones instead. Is the loss of overall bass with that setup horribly noticeable over a single 5? In the UK we can't have mains power sockets in bathrooms, so
Hi Guys Im new to Sonos and have been very happt with my pair of Sonos one for my bedroom. Im setting up 5.1 surround sound for my living room, the size W x L x H (in feet) 23.5 x 22 x 9. I will buy a soundbar and a sub for this. But for rear speakers, which one should I buy? 1s, 3s or 5s? The problem is I cant have them a try since I live in small city in Indonesia, no Authorize Dealer for Sonos just yet. Appreciate your help Regards Jimmy
Has anyone figured out how to setup the McAfee firewall so that it is on and you can still connect to Sonos?
Play 5 failure
It would be great if a snooze button was added to the great alarms feature in Sonos!
I've had my PLAYBASE for a couple days now and I like it, but I really expected more on the low end with this new S-curved sub design in the unit. Everything is crisp and clear and the stereo separation is impressive but the bass is totally lacking. I would compare it to my PLAY:1s (I don't own a 5) and the 1s might even outshine it in the bass category. I was really hoping for more after hearing all the work they did in making sure it was good for both movies and for listening to music, which left me expecting a bigger sound. I'm not in the financial position to add a SUB, so I'm curious to hear what others think. Is there an off-chance I got a faulty unit?
Considering going with Google Wifi 3 piece mesh around the house - getting rid of / replacing my existing and weak wireless router. However, must work well with SONOS! Hoping I can just plug the SONOS Bridge into Google's designated router unit - like the old router and it works well? Will that be the case?
Im a complete novice when it comes to Wireless music systems and Sonos products, so apologies for the dumb questions, but here goes ... I am having my house renovated so have the opportunity to install speakers in the ceilings of my home so I can stream music around the house. I want to have 3 zones in total each one with ceiling speakers: Zone One in our front lounge (which is a kids room, 5m x 4m in size), connected to the smart TV in the same room. Kids can then stream their own music (from their phones). I want to have this zone connected to the TV in the same room so the sounds comes from the ceiling speakers. Zones two and three are also on the ground floor but in a separate very large open space (kitchen/diner/lounge) which is about 15m x 6m in size. I want to stream the same music to both zones simultaneously from my phone. Also I want the option to stream different music to each zone simultaneously or to switch off one zone and just stream music to the other z
New to Sonos, not an audiophile at all but bought a vacation house and the smoking hot young girlfriend thinks bringing in some music would be a good idea. Love the concept of WiFi rather than bluetooth. Here are the areas I would likely want sound: - Living area: Large, open (including open to the kitchen) with a 65" flatscreen. Playbar and Playbase seem like logical choices. But, aforementioned smoking hot young girlfriend is very fussy about fit and finish. Wondering if a One or one of the Play models would be suitable for this room? - Master Bedroom: Any reason not to just put a One or a Play:1 in there and call it a victory? If the aforementioned smoking hot young girlfriend is in the bedroom listening and I am in the living area watching tv through Sonos can the units work independent of one and other? - Guest Bedroom: Screw 'em, gotta manage the budget! - Large patio area. The patio opens up from the living area. Wondering if with the doors open the sound from the li
