It would be nice to be able to select different skins for the controller on the desktop. The current skin is dark and small text. It's hard to see the subtext that appears to be a light blue on a dark background.
I am wondering if the Airplay2 is a workaround for guests with iPhones to play music without having to download the Sonos app and/or connect to home's wifi?
I'm considering adding a Playbar to replace my current soundbar. But the one big issue I have with the Bose Solo is with the feature I bought it for. You can turn on a "Dialog" mode which is supposed to make speech easier to hear. It does semi-fair job but loud sounds are still pretty loud and quiet talk is still quiet talk. What I'm looking to know from owners is this. I want to be able to set a reasonable listening volume in the evenings and have the Playbar not get too loud and those quiets whispers you'll actually be able to hear. Will it do that? Right now I have to hang tight to my remote so that when the action pumps I have to crank it down, when the dialog starts up I have to crank it up, then down, then up. I'm looking for a solution to that. Thanks!
Hey all. I am seriously considering purchasing a non-sonos system for my simple home theater needs, but am worried about leaving the sonos 'ecosystem'. My plan is to either go with the Beam, then sell/upgrade to the next Sonos Home Theater product when available, or buy a different system entirely. What has my interest is the Sony Z9F with wireless rear surrounds: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BMRB49C/ref=twister_B07BMPT97F?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Does anybody have experience/thoughts on this Sony system? Rant: I'm a long-time sonos supporter, bought the Playbar on day one with rear surrounds. I was very disappointed in the playbase (no new codec support, no HDMI, etc) and did not upgrade. And now, when the new Home Theater announcement was being teased for the Beam, I thought this was going to be the hardware we've been waiting for! I quickly sold my Playbar before the June 6th announcement and waited. Then the articles came out with even more disappointing news: No new codec suppo
Unfortunately I can't get my PS4 to optput Dolby Digital 5.1 when playing a DTS track. Instead all I receive on the Playbar is Stereo (works fine when the track actually is in Dolby Digital in the first place). I searched this forum and the odd thing was that every link posted to an article which should explain the proper PS4 configuration for DTS on the fly conversion to Dolby Digital 5.1 results in an Error message. Everything is set to Bitstream (Dolby) and I ticked of the DTS box inside the output configurations. Tested everything with HDMI out and my PS4 connected directly to the Playbar. Funny thing: DTS to DD comversion works flawlessly on my PS3 with its opitcal out directly plugged into the Playbar.
Having lip sync issues with brand new $3,500 LG TV (OLED65C8AUA) and Sonos Playbar. Called tech support and they suggested running optical cable direct to cable box and also suggested changing from Dolby to PCM. Neither of these worked. Has anyone had any luck finding a solution for this? Sonos says they are aware of the issue, but from the looks of this forum they have been aware of issue for a while, but yet nothing is still solved. I think the tech person I spoke with today was googling the problem as I was talking to him as he seemed like he had no idea. He said it is affecting Sony XBR models and LG OLED TV's. Also the tech person said since I wasn't at home they couldn't fully troubleshoot it. When your tech hours are 10am (when most people are at work) and your wait is over an hour when most people are out of work how do you suggest we call when we are in front of the TV??? Maybe Sonos should put on the playbar box that their product doesn't work with the top two TV manufacturer
I recently moved, and am trying to change my sonos player to the new wifi but can not connect. Please help me connect to my new wifi.
Hello, Hoping to see if there is an option for connecting Mac Tower -> Sonos Connect -> Play 5 for computer speaker sound. -Would it work to get a Sonos Connect, and then run a type of audio cable from the back of my Tower into the Sonos Connect, which would then be able to play it through the Sonos Play 5? -Would you guys know what type of cable would be needed for Mac Tower->Sonos Connect if that would work? Would there be delay from Youtube/Netflix for video to sound? Thanks very much.
i apologize if this is not the right place for posting feature requests. I would like a way to reverse the current queue of music... it's a strange request I know and probably extremely niche... but just how there is a shuffle button that actually shuffles the queue, i'd like a button (or tuck it away somewhere obscure i don't mind) to reverse the current queue.
https://www.wired.com/story/sonos-nick-millington-exclusive-interview/ Quote from this excellent feature on Nick Millington Sonos' Chief Product Officer is quite interesting. "It will be up to Millington and his product team to chart a course through the choppy, frenemy-filled waters ahead. To do it, he may help guide the company into new places altogether. Until now, all Sonos products have been shackled to rooms inside your home. In the future, Millington hints, Sonos may create its first speakers and audio products designed to leave the house." Where some of the IPO money may go. This is a progressive development if true.
I am trying to get a decent plex streamer set up that will pass surround sound (i.e Dolby surround as I know Sonos can't cope with anything else) to my Sonos 5.1 set up but so far I've had mixed results. PS4 does this but aac streams sound terrible Sony TV does it but if the film is more than 1.5 hours long it crashes for some unknown reason. Therefore would nvidia shield solve all my problems or would it simply add to the list of unsatisfactory solutions above? Are there any other options (apart from trading in the Sonos equipment)?
I have a vacation rental property and just installed sonos. I want to setup the sonos through the guest wifi so my renters can access it without giving access to the main wifi. I bought a boost system but still can NOT get the sonos to run through the guest wifi.
We have spotify family and it would be great to add ALL the accounts to the Sonos app. Currently we can only add two. Also the ability to rename the spotify icons would be great - currently they both look identical
I have a play 3 about 2 years old that is in a secondary room and hardly gets used, it had true play or whatever auto sound deal, it blew the base as I was listening to The Beatles...I feel it should handle that without issue I mean that's a joke right? I've searched these forms and I've seen multiple people with the EXACT same issue, specifically the base cracking and blowing with easy listening. I think it's clearly a manufacturer defect and this system is too high-end to have this happening. I hope sonos makes this right...
I've read a lot of posts on this forum regarding sonos 5.1 surround with the new sonos beam and people trying to achieve a multi channel stereo setup without any delays, instead of setting up a 5.1 sonos configuration with their television set. I'll start off by letting you guys know what setup I have and then maybe some of you can clarify what we are actually capable of doing with sonos speakers and what we can't achieve with these speakers. So I purchased a sonos beam, a sub, and 6 sonos one's in hopes of connecting all these speakers to my HTPC so that I can replicate a multi channel stereo setup which I've already achieved with my AV receiver attached to my PC. So basically I just wanted to see if I could setup a multi channel stereo configuration using sonos speakers in hopes of avoiding using cables. This way I could place speakers all over my bedroom without using any wires. So to achieve this setup, I used the hdmi/optical adapter provided with the sonos beam to connect the be
I can’t finalize my latest Sonos update. I asks for my email. When I type in the email I am using here it claims that the account doesn’t exist And I have now a remember dot asking for finalizing the update, which I can’t
Why is it that even though Sonos Claims to want to work with custom integration, they keep sending updates that break the API and render integration useless?
I’m trying to setup a new tv to my sound bar and sub. I can’t find the settings on the app to set the new tv up.
Hi All, Although I have a number of Sonos units dotted around my home they often have different queues playing (What can I say the family loves SONOS) but sometimes I want to create a playlist for future listening. Currently, this means I have to wait for a 'zone' to come available. I think it would be great if you could have a virtual zone just to create playlists. I also like to allow guests to add music to a SONOS playlist if we're having a party and we often have a tablet set aside for this to be done. What often happens though is somebody always jumps their tracks to the front of the queue, wipes a playlist or starts music in different zones (i'm sure it's all accidental). I think it would be a great idea if you could lock down a controller with a PIN to limit what can be done. Thoughts would be greatly appreciated
I'm stuck on what to get next, I just got the beam and I have a sonos one in my room but I don't know if I should hold off on another One and save up for the sub or go ahead and get a One so I can have surrounds. I'm about to shovel out a good bit of money on a nice 55" TV so it's gotta be one or the other. The One is obviously way cheaper and could pair with my existing One for rears but idk if the Sub is worth it for a small bedroom. I haven't heard anything about them making a more economical sub to match the price and power of the beam and I'm hesitant to double what I've spent on Sonos already and veer into overkill territory for about a 300 sq ft bedroom but then again it is where I'll be enjoying almost all of my music, TV, and video games. I'm not worried about too much sound because my room is fairly soundproofed and I'm young, but also keep in mind money-wise I'm a college student. I'm not a basshead but I do appreciate a full sound and for a good mix of TV and music I'm just
I have followed the various community answers and connected my turntable to my connect. Sound play out through my hifi speakers which are connected to sonos but I cannot get any sound out of my soundbar. I have group them but still no sound. I cannot adjust the sounds of the hifi via the sonos app either.
Hello Advice needed. Situation: Playbar/ 2x play 1’s / Sub, so 5.1 setup. Space: living room/kitchen is one big room of 50m², as of which the living room itself, where the TV and couch is located is 28m². For the moment we are not living there yet, but we already bought all the Sonos items, because we thought we should move earlier. Therefore, I can sell the playbar still secondhand, including warranty and never used. With the 5.1 setup is the Playbar still performing that much better, or would changing to the Beam be a better option? It’s newer, takes less space. TV will be the Samsung ue55ks7500.
Anyone else having issues with updates? Sonos won’t allow me to add a sub because it say’s I need an update. When I go to the App Store to update, the app is current with no update required. Very annoying,
Just a quick note to any of the Sonos devs that may be watching. Many times I'm "watching TV", I'm actually listening to music through my Plex server on my TCL tv. I then broadcast this to all my Sonos devices. I can get great album art and artist info and lyrics on my big screen! This skews your data for what I "listen" to. I was wondering if anyone else does this? Not that it will change anything or that my experience is diminished in any way. Just a blip I noticed.
Please make my sonos sub compatible with sonos connect... Sonos connect amp haven't enought power to drive my speakers..and i love sonos sub!
