Hi I've tried to link the Sonos connect to my Technics SU-A707 amp per the quick start guide but there are no audio in connections on the back of the amp. I'm looking to connect the two Sonos one speakers i have to my hifi set up. Can anyone help please
In my living room, I now have 2nd gen play 5 connected to TV line-in, and a pair of play 1's bounded with a SUB. They are grouped together for watching movies and listening to music. I know it does not provide surround sound and cause slight delay of lip sync when watching TV. I am thinking about getting a beam to replace the play 5. Can anyone adives what the gain and loss would be in terms of sound experience? I heard play 5 beats beam in sound quality. Thanks in advance!
Hi All, After receiving a Sonos Beam I figured that I needed a new TV and have just pulled the trigger on a new 4K HDR TV, along with a Apple TV 4K. I'm a little in doubt about what the best settings are for getting the sound from the Apple TV into the Beam, and therefore hope you can help me by sharing your settings on the AT? I will have the sound going from the AT going into the TV via HDMI then passthrough via ARC HDMI into the Beam. BTW, do I need special HDMI cables for ARC support or will normal HDMI cables work? Best regards René
Can't get rid of the chime alarm sound. I use to have my alarm set to the news every morning and now the chime sound comes up and even when I turn it off I have to choose the news station. I have deleted all the alarms and made sure all chime sounds are not chosen yet when I create a new alarm and I chose the radio station as a "alarm sound" I still get chimes as a sound. How can I solve the problem? Thanks
I can see the song name and artist in sonos controller, with the duration and everything. However, I don't see them scrobbled to my last.fm account.
Hi Sonos Team, I have a Sonos Beam with 2 x Sonos Ones and I'm having an issue with sound quality from my TV while watching video. The bar is conected via HDMI 1 ARC and I'm using Apple TV 4th Gen with it. When I listen to music using Sonos App or Apple TV everything seems to be OK but when watching TV video (Hulu/Netflix/HBO/Amzon/Plex apps) on my Apple TV they are constant audio quality drops (less then 1s) on all Sonos speakers that are happening constantly every few minutes when playing back any video content. The issues seems to be only related to any video content played through my TV. Even though I'm connected to the TV via HDMI I tried to different wifi channels and different Apple TV settings to no avail. My TV is Samsung UN65HU8550 4K Ultra HD LED Smart 3D 65". Please can you assist to troubleshoot. This is a very expensive setup and I can't really say I'm enjoying it as my previous Samsung wifi sound bar for $160 did a better job of playing TV without any quali
Appreciate there’s probably not a lot we could be told, however any indication of a new Sub under development to match output of the Beam and fall in line with it in terms of budget? The full sub would be overkill in my place and not neighbour friendly! Question also provoked by seeing the new Bose smart range including a £400 sub option.
Trying to update the app on my fire tablets... I removed the app from one of the tablets and tried reinstall. Appstore says the APP is not compatible with any of my tablets. HOWEVER it is on four other of my tablets (all the same model) and they work
How to stop sound coming from Sonos speakers while listening to TV sound through Bose QC35 headphones?
help - I am having a horrible time trying to set-up and sync my Sonos system with my URC -TRC-1080 Universal Remote Control. URC's customers support is spotty at best and no one seems to know what to do other than to say hire someone to come do it, but if I do that I'll never be able to really make use of all it has it offer. I have to learn this for myself. So any one who has any experience with this and is willing to try to help would be my new best friend. Thanks - Zeek
For listening to music I use (and love) Apple Play. But I also would like to have my computer audio output be able to play through Sonos. Do I need Connect:amp for this? In other words: if I would connect my Apple audio out to the audio in of the Connect:amp will it play back wireless through my Sonos speakers?
If-This-Then-That (IFTTT) integration could be cool. You could expose playlists to IFTTT as either triggers and/or actions. Use cases could be when a certain playlist is started trigger lights (via WeMo or Hue). So for lighting, a "Dinner" playlist could set a particular light pattern via Hue, or turn off some lights and dim others. You could also start a playlist when motion is detected via a WeMo motion detector, or when a switch is turned on, start a playlist. You could use a special playlist to provide a house-wide audio notifier of new emails, Facebook/Twitter/app.net mentions, or Google Calendar events.
I have a Beam, and the video is way in front of the audio. Settings on the Beam can only increase the audio delay further (Audio Delay is set to Min). When my video source is cable, it is tolerable, but with my other devices (e.g. Blu-Ray player) it is not tolerable. The only setting in the player is to again delay the audio further. I see no such settings on the TV. Ideas?
Hi all. Tom B an excellent support guy from Sonos suggested I post this here as he knows the tech guys keep an eye on the forums for ideas and problems. I suggested to him that as I live in a townhouse and have speakers throughout we cannot here our door bell while music is on through our system. So.............I would like to see a Sonos doorbell that feeds through the speakers when someone presses it, perhaps loweting the volume a little as it does so that the bell is obvious over the underlying music. What do you think? regards Stephen H
Do you want when you get home (location aware), a specific music (list/radio) automatically play + a light scenario on? Of course you want... Great news: 0 costs and it can be done easily. Maybe a lot of you already have Sonos + Philips Hue... And we know that Sonos does not work yet with Apple Homekit... Boom!...just install Yonomi app or Gideon app and all above it can be achieved centralized without any further hardware. You don't find this solution over the internet (in this moment). You just to be lucky to discover it. I was lucky yesterday, I am very happy with it and I wanted to share with you... By the way, a smart plug (for thermostat, non-smart lights, etc.) that you wish to work with above apps is Belkin Wemo. Minim system requirements: a smartphone, almost any Sonos device, Philips Hue device. Optional -> Belkin Wemo smart plug. Have a nice life 🙂.
I know there are a few ways to link up IFTTT with songs using servers and raspberry pi's etc but realistically if SONOS just linked with IFTTT it would make this a lot simpler? And would bring an awesome smart speaker system in to the smart home world.
I was doing a little research on Sonos and Amazon Echo integration. Most of the articles talk about how Sonos will support Alexa in 2017. That the integration will be impressive and the two services will work seamlessly. The thing is, I've already found two ways to get Sonos working with Alexa right now. IFTTT; If This Then That: Offers users a way to integrate various web based services together in really dynamic ways. Put simply can create simple recipes made of two ingredients. A) The Trigger 😎 The Action. For example; if it rains, text me a message that's raining outside. I saw a few recipes on IFTTT for controlling sonos, but there is one major issue with IFTTT at this time. If I use Alexa to send a command via IFTTT it can take quite a while to arrive on the other end. First Alexa interprets my voice command, then it gets sent to IFTTT's servers, IFTTT then tells the desired service to activate. This can take a lot longer than you might expect. The other option
Are there any Keyless Doorlocks on the market yet that are compatible with Sonos & the Sonos app?
Am I alone with the iPort Xpress? I've rubbish battery life and there is no visible support! Using the voucher for my CR100's I got one of these to try. I've never had anything like the suggested 3 months battery life, not even a full 24 hours from a full charge. It frequently loses connection despite me using commercial grade Meraki access points throughout the house. It was to be the hardware 'pause' button for my office, a quick method of stopping Sonos if the phone rings but is unusable for such function with the frequent dropouts. iPort Support is non existent and Sonos support, despite being the retailer, just point me in their direction. Someone tell me its just unlucky and their iPort lasts ages on a charge. (Don't get me started on £100 for it, if it was my cash I'd be gutted as the unit feels like a cheap £30 item)
Long time Sonos user. It used to be rock solid. Not any more. We have 4 Zone Players in the house (no PLAY speakers), and since the 9.0 app, it's practically unusable. Our zones are Office, Shop, Living Room, and Pool. 95% of the time I am using it in Shop with an Amazon Fire tablet (new model). What happens is the controller app in the shop will randomly switch the room to Pool. Sometimes I can switch back to Shop, and other times Shop is completely missing, with the only room available to choose it Pool. Quitting the app doesn't work. I have to go into settings / advanced and do a reset controller. All the rooms come back and Shop is now selectable and works. Other times, it switches to Pooll all by itself, and when I choose Shop, it says "Sonos Player not found" (or something similar). Again controller reset in the app fixes it. But most of the time, I can just go to Rooms, select Shop and start playing again. The other issue/annoyance that has existed since V8
Im curious if Sonos makes an in ceiling speakers that can be connected to the amp with speaker wire?
I have multiroom Sonos setup in 5 rooms which are often grouped together. I find it frustrating when I change the group volume and it changes all the speakers. I’d like to have the option to lock the volume for a particular room/speaker, maybe have a lock button next to the mute button, so that when you change the master volume it doesn’t change the sound level in that particular room. Alternatively an option in settings to disable the master volume control so that each room has to be adjusted individually, would be very handy, what do you think?
I have upgraded my Sonos and the speakers appear on my HomeKit ( on my iPad only. Not on my phone for some reason). I thought this would b enough to trigger a response when saying : hey Siri. But nothing happens and I have to revert to screaming at Alexa. Any clue on why that is ??
I currently have a SONOS Playbar hooked up to my tv and have two built in ceiling speakers that are connected to my SONOS Connect:Amp which is hardwired into my router. I recently noticed that the two ceiling speakers stop playing sounds or music when ever a movie was playing or I had music playing on the Playbar. I tried doing a retune and it always said speakers were missing. I just updated all speakers and app to try and fix the problem. Nothing worked, so I decided to factory reset my Connect:Amp and reset it up as it's own device. Once I did that, I could play music through the speakers so I knew they were still working. I then went to the website: http://######:1400/wiredsat.htm and replaced the # with my Playbars IP code to set up the surround sound. I then selected the Conncet:Amp to set up as my Left and Right surround sound speakers and set their distance away from the tv. Hit complete and was notified that I was all set up. I then went back to the app and retuned the speaker
If I have a 4 channel amp that is 2 ohm stable, can I wire two 4 ohm speakers in parallel in one channel and I would split the 80 rms watts per channel to 40 watts per speaker with an impedense of 2 ohms. This is because I have 4 front speakers and 4 rear.
