I believe SONOS could have a very popular item by making a SONOS transmitter for TVs.In simple terms take the soundbar electronics and toslink interface and package this as a SONOS tv transmitter. Use a USB interconnect for the power supply and have a nice small package that could fit behind wall mounted TVs. I would like to use the SONOS speakers for my TV but do not wish to have a SONOS soundbar in the mix. This would seem to offer another way for SONOS to bring users to the family of products. If there is something that already does this please let me know.
Here’s a wild idea : I have three wireless Sonos speakers, one in the office where I’m at, one in an adjoining bedroom and a third in an adjoining bathroom.I’m in the office - I’d like to flip a switch on my Sonos app and using my phone’s microphone make a rough approximation to balance the volume across those three speakers. Now if you want to get really crazy, I’d like to have the volume continue to adjust regardless of where I take my phone until I turn it off.
Bought these to play music on from my iPhone in my home yet a year later you claim there’s a technical problem with the iOS system or some other s***** s* yet my phone can play music on every make model and brand of car I rent at the airport when on vacation but I can’t play my iPhone list of music on $400 worth of two Sonos speakers in my house, I don’t know who got greedy about what but they are getting thrown in a garbage I won’t do someone else a disservice of giving them some thing that is worthless. *Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the community guidelines.*
Does this come with a dust cover?
Hi all!I just acquired a new garage/storage facility with a big open square space (720 m2, 4 m high)I was wondering if 4 or 6 Sonos One speakers would fill the room without sounding to boxy. Kind regards,PP
I recently bought a cheap system for my garage, significantly cheaper than Sonos 5.1 system. That cheap system really surprised me. It has Chromecast and Airplay. Yes, Chromecast and Airplay. Now I start wondering why I spent so much more money on Sonos system, and Sonos doesn't even support Chromecast. I think it is time for me to ditch the Sonos, due to its lack of Chromecast. SONOS, please add Chromecast asap, otherwise you will loose many existing customers and future customers.
All, Would you mind listing your TV and mode/year in this thread if you have tested it and confirmed it will pass DD 5.1 to the Playbar and from what source. This will help those of us in the market for a new TV and playbar. Thanks MikeB.
Can the Sonos Boost connect to the Play 5 (Gen 1) and the Play 3?
Aug 9, 2020, 11:06 AMSo Google has ended Google Play, which is still on your app, and transferred to YouTube Music, which I don't see on your app. Trying to find out if I'm still going to be able to play my own music on your speaker given that Google is holding my entire library hostage and won't even allow me to play my own music on their own speakers. Don't see how to add YouTube Music on the new app either. Doesn't seem like Sonos responds to direct messages since they havent responded to a question sent months ago
Massive house makeover on the horizon, Sonos Arc looks like it ticks all of the boxes for the TV room along with the sub and a couple of 1SL’s up the rear, but my kitchen and garden need an audio solution to. Hmm, 4 1SL’s and a Sub should work in a 484 square feet kitchen diner space, right?I enter into the negotiation with the wife. “You want to spend £4000 on speakers” was her first question. Well yeah babes, course I do. She uses her 1SL all the time, moves it from room to room, even the garden in the summer so SONOS seems an obvious choice. Wireless, WiFi, fuss free, you get what you pay for in this day and age, yeah? Well, until I try to play music off my S10+ from YouTube and fail miserably. Why isn’t my 1SL in the list of devices I can cast to? This should be easy right?OK so I went around the bizarres with the sales team. I’m not speaking to anyone in the US, that’s for sure. I follow their advice about adding YouTube Music to my services, only to be met with the access denied
Just bought a house which has the following: In the family room, 4 wired infinity ceiling speakers and an in floor subwoofer. Outdoors: 2 in ceiling infinity speakers on porch. wiring: all speaker wires run to family room cabinet under the TV. The subwoofer wires are currently connected to a Polk SWA500 amp in the same cabinet under TV, which was left in the home. The speaker wires are not connected to anything (I do not have a receiver yet). My goals: setup 5.1 surround sound for TV. Add wireless sonos speakers to kitchen and dining room. Create multiple zones for music at least in terms of volume (I don’t need to play one song in dining room and another outside, I just want to be able to turn outside off or at reduced volume versus dining room but they can play same thing). Zones: family room (wired), outdoors (wired), kitchen (wireless), dining room (wireless). what is the best way to accomplish this? Can’t figure out if I should get the sonos amp, the port, a home theater
Hi All,I have a few questions regarding Arc placement and its surroundings. My TV is placed sort at an angle 30 degrees to the wall against the corner of the room.If i place the arc parallel to my tv in front thenthere’s no wall on the left of the Arc, and on the right it faces a wall diagonally the edges of the arc will be floating in the air although most of it say 75% would be supported by a base1) Will I be losing out of 5.1.2 capabilities by not having a wall on the left of the Arc ? Let me know if 2) is okay ?
Moving into a new home and want to integrate all my speakers and electronics. Could really use some help determining what components I may need to purchase and how the wiring should be set up. Luckily there is already a rack in the basement so I can centralize a lot of the equipment. Here is a list of what I want connected if anyone has the time to educate me. Hi I would appreciate it if anybody can offer advice on USB C PD chargers that work to charge the Move. I have purchased a 60w PD charger which on paper the specs should tally with those specified by Sonos but it doesn't work. Having read similar articles online I'm not the only one having issues with this. Can I say I am a little disappointed with Sonos having spent a lot of money on the Move I wouldn't expect to have to start forking out for expensive chargers in order to charge it on the move. I appreciate the speaker will have a higher capacity battery than a mobile phone, but surely you would at least be able to trickle charge with a standard USB C cable / charger.
When starting the Sonos S2 app, all the speakers used to play in unison. Now, in order for them to play music, I’d have to click the main volume button and individually adjust the volumes for each of the speakers. Why is this happening now? Was there a system update that affected this? I have 10+ speakers with a boost system in the middle of all of them.
Hello all, I thought I would share my work-around for this much derided problem: lack of support for DTS sound on Sonos’ so-called home cinema set-up. So called, because, it does not support the sound encoding used on *most* Blu-ray Discs. I say most with good reason, out of the 100 discs I have of the most popular and mainstream films, 80% are DTS-HD. For the Play Bar I had a decent work around which produced DD5.1 or DD Stereo (see here: https://en.community.sonos.com/home-theater-228993/dts-dolby-5-1-on-playbar-2015-edition-6731191). For the Arc it was really annoying to have to even look for a work around, however, I think I have a solid one. Bit it does require you to be much more technical and basically, be capable of ‘ripping’ or copying your Blu-ray Discs. Before I went this route, I looked for every transcoder, box, set-up going but there is nothing. I even though about returning the Arc or buying a second one to use for DTS alone, which was a bit mad. As it happen
Hi, my new Sonos beam arrived and very disappointed with the sound. I’ve done a comparison against my LG OLED 55 CX5LB and the internal tv speakers are better than the soundbar. Not what I was expecting. If I add two surround sound speakers will this help, have seen the ones from ikea as a cheaper option to consider. If anyone has any advice then let me know. I’ve done the true sound and got loudness on. The room size is medium sized. ThanksAdam
I live in family of four and each one of us loves to listen to different kind of music on different platforms. Some like to listen to radio and some like to listen to music from Spotify or Apple music for example. Sonos did great job with flexibility. We can make queue from music that is on different platforms and you can even combine it with music from your computer. I personally listen to music using sonos everyday at particular time. It became a habit for me. But when you do this everyday , the selection of music is not new everyday, so I add the same songs to queue everyday for some time. And it is annoying to do it everyday since my whole family is using that one device and the queue is constantly changing. It would be awesome to do something like pre-selected queues that you can customize and add as much as you want and just replace the whole current queue with your personalized queue with just one click so you dont have to click through all that stuff to make your same queue e
I’ve mocked up a new setting area in the S2 app that really should be simple to implement as it’s literally uses the same logic and configuration as the surround audio settings — only this would focus on the 2 Atmos firing speakers only.Simple visibility of the Atmost setting as On/OffAllow basic control to set preference of overall volume boost for the two types of content and if TruePlay is not used, allow settings to configure ceiling height. Maybe distance back to the listening area as well? With this little extra control, we could improve the impact or sound stage based on how our individual spaces are configured. Additionally, I think having the option to turn the Atmos firing speakers on for non-atmos content could be possible to simply improve the impact of 5.1 sound output. This could be some very low hanging fruit with a huge impact for all Arc owners and potential soundbar buyers who are on the fence about buying the Arc.
Is it possible to stop controller access to music stored on my android phone. And play only music stored on my pc?At the moment sonos seems to pick up anything stored on my micro sd card on my phone. I would rather it didn't.
Bit confused reading several threads on subject. I have a few empty playlist under "on this mobile device" I can't remember how I made them I'm afraid, but just cannot seem to delete them, also they are empty. Its possible I imported them. Also the "genre" search on "this mobile device" show many genres, but again are all empty.... Album/artist ect shows all as normal.I can't find the names of the empty playlists anywhere on my phone or on my pc.I believe i have an identical copy of songs on both my pc and mobile phone. Can anyone point me in the right direction to delete the empty playlists permanently, and restore if possible the genre folder to show my music.
why isn't there a possibility when you push the same botton twice(play button for example) you can switch between the last 2 played playlists(radio/playlist, for example). If there is a function like this I'd would like to hear how to set it up!,
Hi,So this might be just me and my OCD but, I’d really like a (mostly pointless) feature within the controller apps to be able to click a button (double-tap or something, I’m not saying _how_ it should be done) and have all the volume levels lined up across all grouped speakers. When the family all leave the house and it's just me home, I like to crank up the volume across all speakers but the thing that I find annoying (it really is trivial) is having the volume levels not quite all the same. Forget the relative volume of each speaker, I just want to have the levels all lined up.Cheers
I am looking to hook up two sets of speakers to the AMP. What do you suggest as the best option?
