Hello,Having reviewed various other queries on the community, I cannot see a direct reference to this question. I am looking to understand if it is viable to use the Sonos Port, connected to some typical PC 2.1 speakers.I assume the line out from desktop can go into the Port Audio-In, then back out through the Audio-Out into the active 2.1 system. Critically, this also links the PC audio to the Sonos system around my houseMy concern is that this may introduce some sort of audio delay, especially if watching video / on VC on the computer.I should add, this is a Windows set up so cannot use AirPlay unfortunately, or at least I don’t think I can, if I could I would revert to two One’s, provided there is no audio delay as above. Any initial thoughts? Thanks.
How do broadcasters get their radio stations added to Sonos Radio? Initially Sonos Radio seemed to just have all stations which were registered in TuneIn but now they seem to have removed some of the stations (including mine!)CheersAlex
I'm building a new construction house and I'm thinking about adding a pair of in-ceiling speakers to the covered deck, which would be wired to a Sonos amp in the IT closet.I was quoted about $1800 for the full setup including parts and installation. The quote says they would provide the Klipsch CS-16C II speakers... But I can't find much about those on Google, so I'm a bit worried that they're not the best quality. What do you guys recommend for in-ceiling outdoor rated speakers for use with the Amp? I could try to get a quote for some different ones instead. And does that quote seem ridiculously high? Seems like about half parts and half labor (based on the price of the Amp and $100 speakers plus adding room for wiring, brackets, etc.). The IT closet is in the basement with my network gear, so they'd need to run wires upstairs then out to the deck on the opposite side of the house and provide brackets, do the wiring, etc.The alternative would be to just buy a couple Move speakers... but
New to sound setups and wanted to know whats better for music, to get a beam and two HomePods which will be used specifically for music or a beam + 2 ones which will serve for both music and tv in terms of overall sound quality.
Hi, I followed the blog on sonos to try to authenticate using OAuth2https://developer.sonos.com/blog/page/2/But after setting everything I get a invalid requestCan somebody tell me if there is been an update? I used the https://localhost but im not sure if it works as redirect URL. I used 2 accounts one for request the Token and the other one on which I created the integration app that gives me the client and secret. Any help super appreciated, thank you
As per Title, just leaving this here for reference. The last S1 update (that I grumbled about) has in fact put a smile on my face!! Since installing this I note that playback of WAV-encoded music from my local NAS is now enhanced by the S1 App showing Elapsed/Remaining Track times, the Track Progress indicator, and also allowing ‘scrubbing’ to any point in the track being played. Many Thanks to whoever decided that it was time to fix this!! (and I mean this, no sarc’ intended)Now, how long until someone tells me I should be using FLAC….. :-)
Has anyone tried upgrading from the Arc hdmi cable supplied by Sonos as a way to achieve Atmos signal through the Arc?
Updated to the S2 software and now when I look at my groups, my everywhere option is Missing (Sonos software fixable issue).I already see that we are getting no help from YouTube Music on entire "Artist" library NOT showing, and Sonos surprisingly not fixing the Alphabetical order issue for Artists from Music on Device? Come on Sonos... I've spent $1000s on myself and gifts, plus gotten folks to convert. Need you to fix these items, don't want to demo with disclosure of frustrating issues. I used to have none when Google Music was an option... It properly managed both conditions.
I understand the AMP will digitized the analog signal created from the analog line in internally and then transcode it again to analog and send it to the passive speakers. Can I connect a third party DAC to the Sonos Amp and hoping to improve the sound quality of the entire setup?Has anyone tried this? Many thanks!
I bought a Sonos Beam sound bar two days ago. I love its robust sweet sound and voice clarity. I was disappointed when I brought it home and connected to my television. I am using an HDMI arc cable for connection. I chose not to load any apps on the sound bar because all I watch/hear is on my internet driven television. As you know, the sound bar’s’s volume is driven by the television remote.. Here is the issue: When I open Netflix, Prime Video and Disney Plus apps, and watch a movie, I need to turn the volume on the tv almost all the way to the max to get almost adequate sound coming out of sound bar. When I open my You Tube, Apple TV, ABC News Live, CBS All Access and Spotify, I get a range of adequate volume depending on the app. Spotify plays perfect at a volume level of 20 out of 100; You Tube needs to be upped to about 40/100; Apple TV and the news apps need to be in the 50 out of 100 volume range. I also have a Sony Blu Ray player that is connected to the television v
I have updated music index and nothing. How can I update my imported playlists from my ITunes music library? I can’t seem to figure it out. Help me Obi-Wan, you’re my only hope…. Thanks
I recently discovered this new iOS app called Soro. https://apps.apple.com/np/app/soro-for-sonos/id1550457805Soro allows you to easily control Sonos speakers with the iOS Shortcuts app. I have been able to create shortcuts/widgets for different EQ presets for Movie, Music, TV, and create a widget for playing a specific playlist on a specific Sonos speaker in my house. So far, it works great! Rather than manually changing the EQ in the Sonos app every time I switch from music to TV to movies, I just swipe right and tap once on my iPhone and it changes the settings within seconds.
Hello, just bought sonos arc last week and have already started getting sound cutting out issue. I have a Sony XH90 TV with eARC port and I connected the HDMI to eARC port. I frequently keep getting sound cutting out. I noticed this so far while watching on Netflix.I reviewed there are related topics on this forum but none seems to be helpful for me. Please help.
Hi, All-Waiting for my Arc/Sub/OneSLs to arrive and am wondering: Instead of a Port or 5, can I connect the turntable via bluetooth to my iPhone, then playback via Airplay to the Arc? Or...connect the turntable to my Samsung TV then HDMI(ARC) it back to the Arc?
I have by Beam connected to an LG CX via eARC HDMI, and while the audio is controlled via the TV remote, there is no numerical value for the sound level. It makes gauging the volume very difficult for some member of our family. Why do Sonos think this is a viable operation?
Trying to clarify something here: I know that plugging a network cable into one of my Sonos speakers creates Sonosnet that all of my speakers will connect to instead of my WiFi network. Assuming all speakers are not too far apart and already have decent WiFi coverage, does a Boost add anything to this? Put another way, does plugging a network cable into a speaker basically do what a Boost does and create a mesh network between all the speakers?I’m asking because I have a paired set of Sonos One SLs and one of them keeps dropping out, even in a wired configuration and even though the speakers are only at opposite ends of the room (about 20-feet apart and line of sight, no obstructions). I’m not sure a Boost would help if my speakers are already in a wired configuration.
Just picked up the AMP to drive my sony Turntable and find the volume is limited. Checked all the settings and no restrictions. The moment I move back to TV or radio it is blasting. Also do I add to my Living Room system or create a seperate system?
Hi All I know theres alot of chat about direct access via the bbc sounds app. I have a samsung tv connected to my sonos system using the optic cable. I play the app on my samsung pad and then mirror the pad on the tv which then plays BBC sounds through the sonos system. It works Pretty poor that for such an expensive sound system that we have to go around the houses to just get a sound out of it, when it is so easy to do on a cheap alternitive system that can be had for half the price. If BBC doesn't want to join with sonos then there must be a big reason for this that sonos aren't letting on about ie money/security/
Hi there,I just purchased an Arc and am planning to use it with my 4k projector setup. I’m concerned about positioning. Our 150” projector screen hangs from a rafter and is about 5 feet out from the back wall and comes nearly to the floor (we can’t move the screen any closer to the back wall). So, our only two real mounting options are:On top of the rafter that the projector screen hangs from (so the Arc would be about 12’ off the ground and 4-5’ below the A-frame roof. Low on the wall behind the projector screen (so about 5’ behind the screen, and 1-2’ off the floorWhich of these is best / any other ideas? FYI this will be part of a surround system with a Sub and 2 rear Ones. Thanks!
I recently purchased a Sonos 1 and downloaded the Sonos app onto my Android phone. I am having a hard time creating and saving a new playlist and need detailed steps to do this. I had (thought I) created one playlist, then tried creating a second, which did not work. Then when I tried going back to my original playlist it disappeared and I now do not have any playlists. Is their anyway of importing my playlists from my Android phone?
Hi all. Thinking of getting a Sonos Move to replace my Bose Soundlink Bluetooth speaker for my bathroom which has no power socket. For those long bathtub soaks. Question is, I've read the Move in standby mode doesn't really have good battery life? For my Soundlink it auto powers off and the battery lasts for months as I only tub once every 1-2 weeks.
I control my Sonos entirely from my iphone. I almost always search for an Artist and never play any radio stations on Sonos. Yet, every single time i pick up the phone to look at Sonos, it defaults to Stations on the menu. So very annoying. Anyone have the same experience and any idea how to stop it?
You can see what’s playing right now … but what if somebody asks you what was that cool track you were playing 3 songs ago. A lot of radio stations have a play list that lists time and details on what was playing at any time during the day. Doesn’t look like that exists for Sonos operated stations, perhaps it should?!H
Purchased the Ikea Symfonisk lamps as I wanted mood lighting in the living room. I replaced my ‘Ones’ with these and am delighted that there is no drop in sound quality. Easy to set up and are working perfectly well as the ‘rears’ in my Arc& Sub set-up. The look of the Synfonisk is a matter of personal taste, they are physically larger than I would prefer but that is my own preference. Very happy with them 👍
