Found out that my Connect:AMP is dead after 3 years. Was told by support that “It happens” when something is “always on”. I can’t help but wonder what will die next. I’m looking for alternatives to the Connect:AMP from another vendor that stands behind their products better than Sonos. Does anyone have any suggestions?Thank you!
Hi, just a quick Q regarding release notes. My S1 system is at 11.2.12 and says that an update is waiting. However, checking the sonos.com site for S1 release notes brings up just one page with details for Sonos releases that stop at 11.2.6.Where can I find release notes for current software? Thanks in advance, Steve
Greetings, We have a Sonos system in our home. Does anyone have positive or negative experience or advice with using Apple Music vs Spotify over a Sonos system? For the most part, all of our devices are Apple products (computers, tablets, phones, etc.).Any tips or tricks on how to optimize it?
Seeing all the Sonos Beam 5.1 setups with people's PCs here looks AWESOME. Wonder what kind of latency it would have though? Is it suitable for gaming? Wouldn't be nice if the audio lags. I imagine it can't be too bad if my Xbox Series X sounds great on my Sonos Arc?
Finally decided to reach out to the professionals here after going crazy over this for a few days. I have a new Hisense U8 with the latest firmware, a Sonos ARC with two One SLs and for some reason I can’t get Surround to work with PS5 games. I have my input set to Passthrough on the TV and have eARC on but any PS5 settings I tried didn’t work with different results.LPCM: Setting the output to LPCM and 5.1 channels on the PS5 shows as PCM (Stereo) on the Sonos App when playing a game. It’s also incredibly quiet.Dolby: Setting the output to Bitstream(Dolby) shows as Dolby Digital 5.1 on the Sonos App but nothing is played on the rear channels, for all intents and purposes it appears to be playing as Stereo…. As a reference I have my Xbox One X set to output as Dolby Atmos and every game I can throw at it work with 5.1 audio perfectly, I suspect their transcoding is really good.
Given Sono’s stance on generally providing codecs to streaming services, its now become aparent that the Disney+ service will start to utilize DTS:X.Refer to Article: https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1636365375 Will Sonos add DTS:X Codecs to the platform, and in doing do, add the full DTS codec suite?
The search to remove the beam from my system isn't clear or I can't seem to find where I delete so I can add the Arc?
Hi, I have a Sonos 5.1 setup. It’s Arc, Sub and two Play Ones. All in all I am very happy with it. But my room is kinda big, 60 m2 with 5 meter ceiling. Here’s the question: what would be the best upgrade: to get a second sub or replace the Ones with Fives? I should mention that I also use the system for music quite a lot, and have it set up so the Ones and the Sub are the most audible. I like listening to music in a 5.1 setup; you can sort walk around inside the soundfield rather than sit in a narrow sweetspot of stereo-speakers. (I have a very serious vinyl stereo-setup, that sounds better than Sonos (you know: tubes and preamps, poweramps and cables and phonostages, etc.) but I still use Sonos for 80% of my music listening). Hope this makes sense. Thanks
hiI need speakers for a rooom 5 meters lenght and 4.5 meters wide and 2.88 height but it is unable to wire to source (wireless data connection required. Whether it's bluetooth, wifi or any other technology) Allows power supply (no batteries required). • Must give good audio throughout the room
I’m currently planning on buying another Sonos Move, as I am very satisfied with the sound quality. With the goals of being able to use it anywhere I can (portable) and having the best sound possible, should I wait for a new edition of Sonos Move? Or maybe consider a different model I’m not aware of?Wait for a new edition or not to wait? Any news on when it may come?
This has long annoyed me, and finally decided to research a bit. When using the Search function in the iOS app, there seems no logic to the order in which albums are listed. Searching here I can see there are loads of threads on this subject, most of them years old. I also see the suggestion that the music service determines the order, but surely Sonos can alter that at UI level (or allow the user to choose!)Is there now some way to do this that I'm overlooking? As it stands it's easier to use another app (Apple Music) to locate the album I want, then return to Sonos app to play it. That's a pretty poor user experience. If still an issue, any hope of getting it enhanced? Thanks!
There are dozens of posts in this forum related to this issue from as far back as 7 years ago. This should be a very simple addition to the software. I play music from my TV all the time and want to be able to use my Sonos Ones for Full Music Playback and not Ambient mode when playing music from the TV. Then when I want to watch an actual movie I want to quickly be able to switch back to surround mode. Please please listen to your customers!!
I know multiple people have this same issue but none of the other solutions seem to be working for me. I just started using my sonos arc and while the quality is excellent for music and for louder sounds, it is very difficult to hear dialogue. The dialogue in movies sounds flat for lack of a better word. I used the speech enhancement and night mode settings with movies and while the dialogue is slightly improved, it is still not ideal. I have a sonos arc, sub and 2 sonos one set up for surround. Does anyone have any other ideas about how to improve dialogue audio? I love the soundbar other than this one issue.
Hi, I have the Sonos AMP with in-ceiling speakers, it supports Airplay 2 but I can not find the amp on any of my iOS/iPadOS devices. I’ve cycled power on the AMP, yet I do not see the AMP when I try to connect via Airplay. The sound is set to stereo and not surround, Is anyone else having this issue? Any tips or recommendations are welcomed. In the Sonos app settings > System > Airplay it shows my device as compatible.
Hello, Is there any news about the much requested alarm fade in customization options? It woudl be great indeed to have the possibility to manage the Start Volume, End Volume and Ramp Up Time of the alarm function and i’v read multiple posts about that so i’m apparently not the only one to wait for that! Thanks
My Setup:Plex Media Server + Nvidia Shield + TV(not eARC compatiable) + Arcana + Sonos ARC Previously this setup was playing my 4k Atmos TRUEHD content no issues. But recently it stopped playing it all together. Will only play content if I switch the audio stream to AC3. I read this thread below and it seemed to be pointing to an issue with the latest 13.x Sonos firmware causing the issue. So I updated my Arcana firmware to .84 but it doesn't seemed to have fixed the issue? Am I missing anything in terms of Arcana settings to get this working?
Hi all,Anyone knows whether this can be achieved ?I would like that my Philips Hue lights dance with the music that I am playing through the Sonos app. This works fine when I’m playing music through the Spotify app. However it does not work when I’m playing music through the Sonos app (although Sonos and Spotify accounts are synchronized). Thanks,Thomas
We have tried both wifi and ethernet connections, have changed all the HDMI cords. TV is a Samsung Q8DT and we also use an apple tv 4k as well as PS5. We mostly use the apple tv, but have experienced the issue with apple tv and native samsung apps. I think its been happening ever since I got the Arc, I love the Atmos but this happens every time we watch Atmos content and really kills the movie.
Hi all - I have come home today and my Sonos S1 app will no longer connect to any devices or wifi. I am getting a screen like this: I have bee running and old bridge with older Play:1s and a Beam. I have tried fixing it in the S1 app, and have also tried disconnecting the Bridge and connecting the Beam directly to an ethernet cable whilst using the newer app. Neither of these seem to work. As far as I’m aware I’ve granted all the permissions I need too in iOS. No changes to my router which is a BT Smart Hub (an original one). I’ve tried the workaround of turning off the 5hz on this with no joy. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any recent BT/iOS changes that may have happened. I have read through the older topic about the BT smart hubs and doesn’t seem applicable here? Thanks!!!
I am building this room and from the dimensions you can see it is quite large with vaulted ceilings so a large volume of space too. My intent is to install a 75” TV on wall A and to have a Sonos Arc soundbar and subwoofer under the TV with Sonos speakers in the opposite corners marked as B and C.I am worried that the space will be too big for what the system can deliver and also the fact that the rear speakers are not in a 45 degree angle relative to the soundbar underneath the TV.Any suggestions will be much appreciated as I would not, ideally move away from Sonos.
I have a very old analog turntable with a preamp and an old Panasonic “smart” TV that has NO Bluetooth (yes it’s old). I want to be able to both connect the turntable and stream sound from the TV to a Sonos speaker system. Can anyone make suggestions?
Hi,My son’s bedroom has ceiling speakers which are wired back to an amplifier in the living room. We currently have a Sonos Connect connected to the amplifier which he uses to stream music to listen via his ceiling speakers. He is now keen to get a turntable, and I’m thinking the best thing to do would be to get a 2nd Sonos Connect, wire that up to the turntable in his bedroom and group it with the Connect in the living room so that the audio comes out of the speakers in his ceiling.Would that work? Would it matter that the Connect in his bedroom would have an input (the turntable) but no output? I guess the other option would be to get him a 2nd hand Play 5, but it seems a shame not to make use of his ceiling speakers. Thanks
Several months back there was an announcement that Arc would be able to play Atmos Music streamed from Amazon and maybe Apple? In 2021.Latest 13.3.3 firmware update still doesn't provide this capability as far as I can tell. Anyone seen or heard anything new on this subject?
I have a first gen Beam connected to my LG OLED via ARC. I also have generation 1 One in my dining room that doesn’t get used much. I only use the TV and internal apps, no other HT gear. I’m thinking about using the One in a HT setup with the Beam. I’m not bothered about a sub at this point, the beam and One have adequate bass for now, but might do later. Is this a good idea? What do I need and what should I buy? Another One Gen 1, gen 2 or SL? Would an Ikea Sonos speaker work, or would it need to be paired with another speaker the same? Do that Sonos ikea speakers even work in this way? Thanks Also can a forum mod please fix my title typo. Thanks!
